I've been hired by three dorm mates of a prestigious college for a night they won't forget. At first, I treat it just like any other job: satisfy the client, get paid, maintain The Gentleman's sterling reputation.
...But his body is driving me wild...
And then I meet bashful Ty, his rambunctious boyfriend Josh, and their arrogant but gorgeous roommate, Brandon. Brandon and I get off on the wrong foot, but his hot gaze as Ty and Josh take me is too much to resist.
...I just need to take him for a ride...
I'm all too willing to give the three of them the attention and experience they need. After all, there's enough of me to go around, and we'll see how fast Brandon's arrogance lasts when he gets his Share of Shane.
"Sharing Shane" is the first installment of The Gentleman's Rentboy Service and features MMM, MM, voyeurism, a sexy nerd in glasses, and a sofa that's definitely going to need to be steam cleaned.
The Gentleman's Rentboy Service is a series of five weekly novelettes, each following a steamy evening with one of The Gentleman's boys. These five capricious twinks are eager to please the big, wealthy alpha males who can afford their time.
From the blurb, you wouldn't think much of this story. And you would be wrong! This was a really good story with actual depth (I thought, anyway) to the characters actions. I liked Shane and Ty; it's really sweet how they make a connection. Shane may be a prostitute, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want someone he can call his own. Having sex with men for money is one thing - having sex with someone for free is something else entirely. When Shane meets Ty, he has no idea what is to come. The story doesn't give you a big dramatic insta-love, so don't worry there. But it is a connection. They both feel something besides casual for the other and are willing to see where that feeling takes them. I am not sure if the below link still works, but if it does, you should totally give this one a try. Happy reading!
3.5 stars.
5-9-2017: Free on BookFunnel. https://dl.bookfunnel.com/tgnsctxx7b (the process to get the book is seriously convoluted but I did get a copy emailed to me.)
I received a free copy of this novella from the author. This is the first book I've read by this author.
Since it was so short there wasn't much 'character development' but what we did learn of the characters was well written and you were able to get a definite feel for each of their personalities. What I really liked was the change in dynamics between Shane (Rico) and Brandon. They were immediately attracted to each other and these feelings grew into something deeper.
I wish this were longer, or at least there were an epilogue, so I knew there was a HEA in their future!
First in Shane's story. This book is part of a series about 4 rent boys... each boy has a series of books. This is Shane's first book. im liking the idea that the series progresses with each book and we learn a bit more about each rent boy as the books progress.
great book for when you've got an hour to spare and want something different to pass the time.
I've not read many m/m books and even fewer m/m/m. This book was a short and sweet novella, But wow that was chock full of HEAT!!
The Gentlemen's Rentboy Service is a series of interconnected novellas, four out so far. The format is a little unusual, which each novella being (presumably) the first installment of a story about a different young man working as a prostitute for the same high-end service. Each story is a complete short story, but only hints at an HEA/HFN later rather than ending with each man paired up. I think of this as four romance serials where the endings are not available yet.
My rating here is for the series as a whole.
In the first story, Shane, a business student paying for college, is sent to a dorm room at a more prestigious college. It's mostly about the menage sex that ensues... yet by the end of it, both Shane and the geeky, grumpy Brandon have some kind of connection that may go beyond the one night.
This first book was fine, but I wouldn't have read it a second time. I was unprepared for how Luxe would level up for the next three books.
Wayne, an indie punk rocker, gets the second book, where he's sent to wealthy silver fox Kevin. All Wayne was hoping for was enough money to keep his band on the road, but he doesn't expect his instant attraction to Kevin or not being able to put the guy out of his mind afterwards. I LOVED Wayne.
The third book is about bubbly, generous Marti being sent as a gag gift to the office of panicking businessman Victor, whose brother is trying to destroy his company. Marti's mission in life is to make others happy, so he wrangles a solution to the business problem (with a cameo by Shane) before also, you know, relieving Victor's personal stress. Job well done!
In the fourth book, former street prostitute Peter is sent to Elias, a billionaire who seems to want a... date? Like, dinner and talking and watching a movie on the couch and stuff? Peter is confused and skittish, struggling with what the Gentleman wants him to learn from his first job with this gentle, gorgeous client, and his emotional arc in this one is just beautiful.
I'm delighted by how Luxe starts each story with what seems like a straightforward sex-based plot, but then takes each to a totally different emotional place. (Not that there's anything wrong with a straightforward sex-based plot!) This is true within each novella, but also a progression across the four, from the lightness of Shane's sexy spark with Brandon to the emotional depth of Peter's personal revelation from his date with Elias. Luxe hasn't told the same story twice; each set of characters gets their own unique personalities and arcs.
I'm anxious that she won't keep going, because each of the books in this series is clearly just the beginning of the characters' story. Signing up on her mailing list got me a free bonus after-story for Wayne's novella that clearly points to there being a next installment in his story, though, so I'm hopeful.
I read this short erotica in mid-April – just before I started wallowing in post-holiday blues – and i really liked it. 💖 • This story revolves around three college boys pooling their allowance and spending it for a night with an escort. I expected the 🔥🔥🔥 but really, what hit it right in the kokoro for me was how well the topic of sexwork was handled here in Shane's insightful PoV, and the depth his character was given, esp in the latter part when Brandon gets his share of, well, when he gets his share of Shane. 😉 • This is the first of four or five books in The Gentleman's Rentboy Service series by Randi Luxe and I highly recommend it. If I wasn't serious with the book buying ban, I really would've gotten the rest of the books and binged them.
This was pretty average to be honest. It had a lot of sex but I really didn't find it particularly sexy. I enjoyed Winning Wayne: The Gentleman's Rentboy Service so I'll continue with that series rather than this.
A good read and I hope to see more of shane and Brandon. Also curious about what will happen with tyler and Josh. I gave the story a four star review because i'm not entirely comfortable with Shan being a rent-boy.
A good read and I hope to see more of shane, brandon, tyler and Josh. The pace of the story is good.
This was a cute short, heavy on the sex, but I found myself reading it and not skimming it. What I especially liked was how Shane paused to ask Brandon to be truthful with him rather than just storming out of the room.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I enjoyed this book about Shane and his rentboy adventures. This story grabbed my attention and now I must continue the journey and read the rest off the series.
Fun short read. Well written with good flow. Characters have personality even at short length which are sweet, adorable, and just a little dirty. The author's style keeps you reading so on to the next I am very curious about The Gentleman.
Okay, for what this book is it's good. Would I love Shane's story to develop, heck yeah! So needless to say, if you are looking for a story with an HEA or even an HFN, skip this. You won't find that here.
This story gives the reader a glimpse into a night where Shane is entertaining three college students. Each of them with a particular need/quest; leading to one hot read!
This was a fun story with good characterization and a likeable narrator. The sex was fumbling at times in a way that made it realistic but not uncomfortable, and the characters were honest and sweet in the throws of pleasure. A truly satisfying and compelling M/M erotica story. I like the premise and look forward to reading other stories in this series.
