AN ANGEL HAUNTED BY THE PAST…

After battling the forces of shadow for millennia, Gaelin struggles to hold the fragile threads of his mind together. His only salvation from the encroaching darkness is in finding his mate. But when the other half of his soul is presented to him, she is not what he expected.

Banished to a magical island prison with her twin brother, Mayra finds herself free of their dark master for the first time in centuries. But, with each day on the island a battle for survival, she must face difficult choices — especially when she finds herself powerfully drawn to Gaelin, despite his loathing for what she is.

AN ISLAND MADE PRISON FOR THE UNFORGIVEN…

With her magic sealed and her master coming to retrieve her, Mayra will do anything to keep herself and her brother from enslavement. Gaelin’s offer of aid and protection gives her some hope — but is she willing to pay his price?

No man is an island, but an island can become a prison for dark, magical beings when their crimes have caught up with them and they have become the unforgiven. An angel is haunted by his own demons, his mind threatens to splinter, leaving him prey to the darkness he has always fought. His salvation is to find his soul’s mate but he never expected her to be one of the dark ones he had dedicated his life to eradicating. How cruel can fate be to show him his soul’s savior and to make her a creature he abhors. Can Gaelin overcome his hatred and accept Mayra as his mate?

Mayra and her brother’s powers have been bound and now they face being sold as slaves. Gaelin can provide a way out of that vile evil, but will Mayra be able to pay the price for Gaelin’s help? Would it really be a hardship for either of them?

MAKE ME YOURS is a true hate to love romance between good and evil that proves that love and a lot of determination and attitude adjustments can heal even the most closed minds and hearts.

Team Tiffany Roberts has once again turned an island of punishment into an island where love can be found, good and evil are not always easily defined and one’s perfect mate can make all the difference in how one sees the world. There were times I wanted to jump in and slap some sense into Gaelin, he could get a little over the top in his hatred for what Mayra was born as, so clearly, once again, Tiffany Roberts has done their job as authors, immersing me fully in the tale they tell so well!

I received this copy from Tiffany Roberts in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.

I voluntarily received an ARC of Make Me Yours in exchange for an honest review.
In book 3 of the Isle of the Forgotten, we pick up with Gaelin who we met in book 2.  He has been freed of his mark but he is waiting on the island for his fated mate.  The one who will bring him sanity.

Mayra is a Demon who is in the service of the evil Necromancer who we learned about in book 2.5.  She and her twin brother were captured and sent to the prison Island.  Even though she is imprisoned, in constant danger from other prisons and the island itself it is still a welcome relief from the horrors of her Master the Necromancer.

I loved this tale, Mayra story was heartbreaking and I couldn’t help but love her.  Even though she was a demon I didn’t feel that she was evil.  She was broken and used.  Gaelin was what she needed to heal to find freedom and light.  To finally find peace.  This story brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion.

With the evil necromancer, out to reclaim Mayra and only so many places on the island to hide, Mayra predicament was ticking time bomb.  Make Me Yours, is full of passion, romance, heartache, love, betrayal, and suspense.  I loved every page.

I have enjoyed the previous 2 books plus the novella Make Me Whole in this series and this one was no exception. The main characters change but the old ones don't seem to be completely forgotten and each book has a main couple.

This time around it is Gaelin and Mayra which made for a bit of an interesting match-up since in this world, angels and demons don't really mix well. The relationship was a lot of love/hate for a long time in the story.

We seem to be lining up for an actual overarching plot that is not quite clear yet but it almost looks like we are finished with the "isle" of the series title. I guess that remains to be seen yet.

This story was a bit unique in that it had at least 3 characters I really did not like, add in the really overdone self loathing and it was not that enjoyable a read for the first 50% of the book and if you have not read Make Me Whole there are a lot of holes in the story that you will not understand so even though it is supposed to be a stand alone book, I recommend you read all the other books first BUT reading Make Me Whole before this one is pretty much a prerequisite to have the needed background to really enjoy this book IMHO.

Bottom Line: Great story, too much self loathing, the love/hate thing almost was overdone but wasn't thankfully, for the first 50% of the book I was looking for somebody to actually like but it got much better. 4 Stars and recommended with above caveats.

Make Me Yours is the third full-length novel in the Isle of the Forgotten series, and we focus on Gaelin whom we have met before, and Mayra, who was alluded to in Make Me Whole. Gaelin knew that he would meet his mate on the Isle, but never thought that he would be partnered with a demon! May has done enough that she actually sees being on the Isle as being free for the first time in 200 years. Now, of course, things aren't going to go smoothly for these two, even if the whole 'matedom' is mentioned a lot sooner than in the previous books. There is the whole evil necromancer, twisted Justicar, and not forgetting Mayra's twin who is controlled by a blood bond with the aforementioned necromancer! So there is plenty here to keep you occupied as you read the latest instalment of this brilliant series.

Whilst Morthanion and Aria remain my favourites of the series, it was great to catch up with the others in this book - even Quil who didn't get a full book. Whilst I can appreciate the whole alpha male protecting his mate, I thought that the equality within the relationship was a bit better in this book, as Mayra is a demon in her own right. Definitely the yin to Gaelin's yang. These two worked and played well together, whilst Gaelin was still in protective mode, so everyone was happy.

With an overall story arc, I would recommend that this is read as part of a series, rather than a standalone. It was very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow. Plenty of action and a surprise at the end, I loved every word. Definitely recommended by me, and I can't wait for the next book to come along!

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

Tiffany Roberts writes a compelling romance of love and passion and prejudice, and how misconceptions shape lives. Gaelin is an angel with time on his hands. Too much time. In his spare existence, even discomfort is a welcome distraction. He’s unmarked, could leave the deadly Isle of the Forgotten, yet he awaits the arrival of his unknown mate, foretold millennia ago by a seer. When he encounters two demon siblings, Marcus and Mayra, his first reaction is to kill them. Yet the meeting proves momentous for Gaelin and Mayra—fate has played a fiendish trick on them. They fight against their destiny as mates, sometimes with cruel results. One of the terrific things about the novel is Gaelin’s evolving realization that many of his beliefs are wrong. As he comes to know the shattered, yet determined Mayra, he sees her goodness and worth, and Gaelin grows into a marvelous and complex hero. The novel’s climax soars. Filled with thrills, oodles of tension, and a spellbinding romance, Make Me Yours is a fine addition to Roberts’ Isle of the Forgotten series. Satisfying in the extreme.

Gaelin is now free to leave the Isle of the Forgotten whenever he chooses. But he doesn't. He knows he must wait on the island, he just doesn't know for what. He just hopes whatever it is will bring him what he longs for...peace. Mayra and her twin brother have been sent to the Isle of the Forgotten, but she knows they won't be there long. The man who has been controlling them will surely come for them as he needs them to carry out his nefarious plans. For now though, even though she is imprisoned on the island Mayra is free. When Gaelin sees Mayra he finally finds what he has been looking for, until he realises she is a demon, the race he has been battling for millennia. However, Mayra is his mate and if he wants to find peace they must both overcome their inner demons.

Gaelin's character has intrigued me since he first appeared in the series and I was excited to start his book. I wanted to know who he was waiting for as well as learn a little bit more about angels. The last thing Gaelin thought he needed was a demon mate when he'd spent the last few millennia battling them, so his initial dismay at discovering that Mayra was who he was waiting for was understandable. What I liked was that although Roberts describes their struggle with who fate has chosen for them that the whole book wasn't taken up by them bemoaning the choice.

I enjoyed the romance between them as they both reveal painful pasts that makes them rethink their view of the world. It was also interesting to see Gaelin struggle with his own past deeds which were just as monstrous as any demons and come to grips with his own prejudices. Together they made a great pair with an intense romance that made them both look a little deeper.

The action also continued with this book as the Justicars, as well as Morthanion make another appearance on the island. I can't wait to see what will happen next and where the series will go. The Roberts team have written not only a good romance, but a good fantasy world as well.

If you like a fantasy romance or even a paranormal romance than you need to give this series a try, it is full of sexy romances with strong heroes and heroines and a new fantasy world to dive in to.

This story was darker than the other stories. A brother and sister team Marcus and Mayra have been working for an evil necromancer Nahir since they were children. Because of a blood bond Marcus with did a lot of evil things. Mayra did too but felt guilt about it. The are sent to the Isle of the Forgotten. Gaelin who is also on the Isle is an angel who is has been there a long time and Mayra is his mate. I really enjoyed this story. Adventure, fun, and evil.

Make me Yours by Tiffany review

Synopsis:

AN ANGEL HAUNTED BY THE PAST…After battling the forces of shadow for millennia, Gaelin struggles to hold the fragile threads of his mind together. His only salvation from the encroaching darkness is in finding his mate. But when the other half of his soul is presented to him, she is not what he expected.A WOMAN HE’S WAITED A LIFETIME FOR…Banished to a magical island prison with her twin brother, Mayra finds herself free of their dark master for the first time in centuries. Gaelin’s offer of aid and protection gives her some hope — but is she willing to pay his price?

‘To find her, you must be forgotten.’

Gaelin is an Angel who was banished to the island many many years ago. In Make Me Hunger, he has his mark removed after aiding another character. But he chooses to stay on the island because he is waiting for someone. And then he meets her and she’s not what he expected at all.

“Everyone carries darkness in themselves. The difference is whether or not we allow it to become our master.”

Mayra is a demon. Her and her brother Marcus were captured and banished to the island. But they don’t see it as banishment. They see it as freedom. After being made slaves since they were children but a necromancer, they are finally free.. or so they thought. And Mayra might have also just met her match on this island. One that she wouldn’t have expected either.

“Either we grow old enough to lose everyone,” he replied, brushing a finger over her lip, “or everyone else loses us. That is the way of life. Wisdom is in enjoying what time we have together.”

This book tugged more at my heartstrings than I thought it would. And that ending though! Talk about surprise!

“I am not yours to control.”

“They are only yours out of fear. They don’t respect you. You have no capacity for compassion or understanding. You only wanted your locket back because it amused you to think you loved someone once, but she could never have loved you.”

Mayra’s growth towards the end of this book just gave me shivers. She was already a strong character, but standing up for herself and her loved ones made her all the more powerful.

4/5 Stars!

This is a paranormal romance, the third book in the Isle of the Forgotten Series. This can be read as a stand alone, but it is better understood if you read it as a series. You will better understand all the characters. Where to start oh my, I at first had so many mixed emotions about Mayra, I knew that she was a demon but I also saw the good in her. Her brother not so much but the more I read the more I understood. I don't want to give away to many details.... so read the book! Heartbreaking is all I could say about Gaelin and Mayra being fated mates, for them to need each other so badly but at the same time to despise everything about each other. They both were strong just to overcome that alone and I was excited to read about them and I was sad when the book ended. I so need to read more about them and all the other fated mates! Yes I need more.

Gaelin has waited a lifetime for his mate, he has all but given up belief he will ever find her. When he least expects it he finds her, when he does and she is not what he anticipated. Is this some sort of cruel joke, this can not be right. She is everything he has always despised. Will he ever be able to learn to overlook what she is to see who she is?

Mayra was brought up differently than most demons. Until she fell under the rule of someone that controlled her and her twin brothers every move. Now they can live without being under his thumb even if it means being banished. It is not that bad, other than the point of learning to survive on their own. This mysterious Gaelin has offered his help and she is weary of him. But she has the feels for him. Her brother on the other hand has no use for him, at all. Well until they see that their former master has come for them. Can Gaelin keep them save, can he help them?

favorite passages:
"The village ahead burns, the buildings being stripped to their bones like carcasses to their bones under the beaks of crows."
"Bodies cover the ground like wildflowers in a spring field, painted in stark orange light and unrelenting shadows."
"It was drifting on an ocean current- he was swept onward without a choice, with no control over his direction, but it felt right in its inevitability."
"A siren's song, luring her headlong into certain doom, and it had taken everything in her to ignore it."
"I knew you before I ever saw you."
"Her feathers were dark, sheening with the violets and blues of the twilit sky."
"One required the other to exist."
"She would carry him forever in her thoughts and memories, and she knew that, no matter where she went, she'd take a moment to imagine him there."
"Even if we have eternity, it will not have been long enough a time to love you."

Let me start this out by saying I am still in shock over what occurred in this novel. A running theme throughout this series has been focused a lot on the dark and light within the 'dark' and the 'light'. This novel takes that deeper as Tiffany Roberts decides to see just what happens when they mix these two elements together. The journey that follows is a melange of action and emotion as Gaelin and Mayra learn to look within and see the truth underneath the title of 'angel' and 'demon', good and bad. It's a risky topic in a world where people run away screaming when 'demon' is mentioned in a fantasy sense, but it's one that I believe deserves to be addressed. And this book does more than address it; it does it justice.

The leap that I saw between this book and the last is so massive that I'm still not sure I made it out in one piece. Aside from the thick underplay of a lesson everyone should learn, the characters and world did more than come to life. Gaelin and Mayra breathed and spun off the page. Several times I had to stop myself from wondering why they weren't sharing in my reactions and responses. They became truly real to the point I was unwillingly feeling everything along with them.

Gaelin was a dream. And I'm not just saying that because I adore his beautiful, fluffy, white wings. He's gentle and caring and fiercely protective. From the start, I liked him, and getting to watch him grow only had me falling more and more in love with him.

Mayra was strong and loyal. She was a free spirit who dared to hold onto hope. Despite everything in her past, I saw an innocence in her that was paired very nicely with her understanding of reality.

Following both of them through their journey of exploring one another was character growth at its finest. I loved them with their flaws and was ecstatic when they overcame. I rooted for both the whole way. I felt with them. I laughed with them. I cried with them.

To say I this was a good book would be an understatement. To say it kept me on edge and wishing I had more time in the day to read would also not do it justice. I wish it didn't have to end, and I'm not sure how Tif and Rob are going to top it, but I look forward to seeing when they do. No pressure. ;)

Buy it. Read it. Love it. 10/5 <3

WARNING: This one is darker than your mind can conceive. Read at your own risk.

★★★★★ 5 Amazing stars!

I might be a little biased when it comes to Tiffany Roberts books, but I am not lying to you when I sat that make Me Yours deserves nothing less than a 5 star rating!

I read this book a couple of months ago but it's still very much stuck in my head. If you've read the other two books in the series and you haven't read this book, you must! It's the best one yet! Though every book Tiffany Roberts write surpasses the last.

From the minute Gaelin showed up in the books I knew he'd steal my heart (I have a thing for angels) and he did. Gaelin is an angel who was forced to be bound to the Isle of the Forgotten for over two hundred years, but having hope on finding his mate is what helped him strive to survive the horrors and solitude in the island. Which is to me a bit romantic. Can you imagine having your mate endure a lot of horrible things and trying to survive because he is waiting for you to appear? Ugh, I love Gaelin. Not only is he an amazing angel warrior, but the way he is described made me love him even more. His physical appearance is not what a typical angel would look like. He has the power to heal but everytime he heals he receives the persons wounds and so is heavily scarred.

Mayra, Gaelin's mate, is not who you would think would be an ideal mate for an Angel. She is born a demon but is not like other demons. Although she has done a lot of horrible things and has killed more than she can recall, Mayra is a very kind person. She was born a demon but was raised with in a kind way, but it was changed completely by a powerful demon. You would love her as well. I love the fact that even if she is a demon, she doesn't have the heart as one.

If you love Demons, Angels, and fantasy romance you definitely need to read this series. It's one of my favorite series of all time and I cannot wait to read more of Tiffany Roberts books!

Mediocre Read.

The book was ok. Pluses: writing fluid, timelines made sense, grammar ok, quality of book ok. Negatives: unlikable hero. I tried to like him, and there were a few moments of possible greatmess. But it all fizzled out befire getting to fruition. I mean, thus hero is supposed to be this ancient, badass angel who has fought thousand of wars; his mate that he was waited for centurues appears, and her and her twin brother are in trouble. What does he do? Not help them, but abandon the brother, ignore the slaughtering if an entire village - he hid instead of fighting or even trying to protect the weak; then he gets his butt destroyed by the villain and the mate who he was supposed to protect is the one who rescued him! Lame book. It won't let ne leave a 2 star rating. I'm done reading this series. There was so much potential! Also, the love scenes were lackluster and there was no chemistry between the main live characters. I'm done with this author. So disappointed!

I was so stoked when I was given the opportunity to read the ARC for make me yours

The characters in this story were far more complex than any others in the last three books of the isle of the forgotten. (you don't have to read the others before this but i would suggest it,  it gives you more insight into the isle).
Gaelin and Mayra struggled throughout and had me on such an emotional rollercoaster.
Morthanian and Aria were my favorites but now Gael and Mayra have taken their place.
Such a great read, it just keeps getting better and better. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

So Gaelin is actually the worst.

He wakes up from a flashback—her memory—where she’s abused, degraded, and raped for the first time, and his immediate thoughts are this:

“He needed to chase away the lingering memory, to eradicate it with a new one for both of them. He needed to prove, without any doubt, that she was his and his alone, forevermore. Gaelin would do all in his power to keep her from suffering like that again.”

I’m sorry, sir, but just in case you forgot—this is her trauma. This is her memory. There’s no part of this that involves you, and there’s absolutely nothing for you to “eradicate.” If you really want to help her heal, maybe start by having a conversation? Maybe ask how she’s been coping, whether there’s anything you can do—or not do—to avoid hurting her further?

And then there’s the whole “she’s mine” thing. Look, I love a possessive MMC as much as the next person, and I’ve enjoyed that dynamic in other books in this series. But in this context? It’s incredibly tone-deaf. Gaelin has just witnessed her being literally owned and violated by another man—and his takeaway is that he needs to prove that he owns her now? That’s not comforting. That’s disturbing.

It’s emblematic of a bigger issue in this book: the way sexual assault and abuse are treated less like real trauma and more like convenient plot devices to add edge and emotional weight. There’s no depth, no processing, and no care in how it's handled. The emotional and psychological aftermath isn’t explored with any real understanding or empathy—it’s glossed over or weaponized to justify the MMC’s behavior or deepen their “bond.” That’s not powerful. That’s careless.

And then just a page later, in that same scene, we get this gem:

“And she belonged to him. He would make her forget she’d ever been touched by another. He would spend his life trying to take her pain away, to overwhelm it with warmth and pleasure.”

So… his grand plan to help her recover from sexual trauma is to overwrite it with sex? Again, how about a conversation? How about asking her what she needs instead of assuming the solution is you?

Another thing I really hated: this man literally calls her a whore—then says sorry—and then they have sex. All in the same chapter. I wish I were exaggerating.

And I’m really not kidding when I say she’s written like a doormat. Gaelin treats her like dogshit under his boot for over half the book. Then when he finally apologizes, he says, “It doesn’t have to be like this between us”—as if he’s not the reason it’s been like this in the first place. He follows it up with a “sorry” and a “please,” and her internal reaction is:

“He doesn’t seem like the type of person who says those two words a lot. But he said both of them to me…”

Girl. Come on. That’s embarrassing. The bar is so low it’s underground, and she’s still tripping over it.

Anyways, i will be reading more from Tiffany Roberts because i've overall enjoyed this series and their writing so I'm just going to pretend this one didn’t happen.

Ok. Wow. So again, we build onto the world a ton more, but even better we built the history up substantially. Talk about two people with dark pasts: these two made me cry more than once. The island is again the backdrop for another pairing, this time for our angel friend. This is the quintessential light and dark pairing. The twist being: they're both pretty darned dark.

Gaelin is the angel we met in Make Me Hunger, and woah buddy is he a mess. Quite possibly the only person on that island that is where he wants to be, he's a being of light so shrouded in darkness it's surprising he can see. He's even older than Morthanion and fought in the wars that were sparked from the creation of demons. Needless to say, he's got some prejudices that are pretty abiding. Fate is a bit of an evil thing, apparently, because she hands him a damaged demon as his mate; the one he's been waiting for for millennia. Mayra has to be the most abused character thus far and damn if she doesn't take more abuse. Give the girl credit, though, she perseveres.

This book focused heavily on prejudices and how truly worthless they can be. This premise was started in the last book and really built up here. We saw the corruption of the Council in the Make Me Hunger, but Make Me Yours expounds upon it and really brings it home. Whereas the last two books hinted at an impending explosion, this one all but promised it. Looking forward to the next book, though I do hope I cry less.

To find her,you must be forgotten

I've came across of the isle of the forgotten by scrolling and I've read all 4 of them. This one outstands all of them. Gaelin and Mayra are the antithesis and yet they compliment each other, the light and the darkness. Noone exists without the other "her darkness did not dim his light, but neither his light penetrate her shadow. They existed in perfect balance ". They became each other's masters, but not without struggle. Biases and prejudices have to be overcome, trust issues to be settled, fears to be conquered and ultimately the greater evil to be vanquished. Not without pain and sacrifice because the real monster is the one who manipulates and uses those in need. The authors with their writing, made me feel the perplexity of feelings of both Gaelins and Mayras. It was a really entertaining book worthwhile my time book. I would honestly recommend it. Give it a shot.

Can't forget this series !!!

This was an another amazing story of the Isle of the Forgotten !!!
The Angel , Galien has been through war , after war for over 5000 years !!! A show of magic sent him to the Isle . Somewhat harsh , but an Oracle foretold him that he would find his mate there . So there was where he sat. Until She arrived .
Mayra and her twin brother Marcus were sent to the Isle while in pursuit of a locket of their masters. One minute they were running , and the next, they were in the Island !! All they have never had was each other. Now is no different. They have relied on their special magic , and now they have NONE.......
As mates , the Angel is aware of her presence. When he finds out that she is a Demon.....well sparks fly !!! I enjoyed this book , as I have all the others in this series. !! And look forward to the next !!!

Talking about

Opposites attract. Gaelin and Mayra could have not been further on the spectrum of light and dark. What a wonderful story. The author breaks your heart a little in this story as is sometimes found in her writing. Everything was dark, dangerous and rounded out by delicious, steamy moments. The overarching element of not being perfect causes these couples lots of pain and is nearly life-ending in every story so far. I find myself holding my breath as they are put through their paces. Thank goodness for the saving grace of HEA endings. Well crafted. Exciting and pulse pounding. Loved it. Reviewed by Who She Reads.

Favorite of the series so far!

I was really looking forward to Gaelin's story and was not disappointed. Gaelin and Mayra are perfect for each other and I loved their journey coming together even though it was a bit heart wrenching at times. I really hope we get to see more books in this series!

Emotional trauma

I'm still raging even though I've read past that point. I will likely be raging for a while over the heart ache this book caused me. I love the emotional trauma and simultaneously hate it here. 😂

Truly, this series is a great read.

P.S. keep a stress ball with you as you read to prevent yourself from tossing the book/device against the wall. I was tempted.

-1 for Marcus.
Typical throw-away character to give hero/heroine emotional depth.

Otherwise loved the story and the struggle of the male MC. He is horrible at first, but understandably so. Otherwise a bit bland, perfectionist and protective, but that's it. Oh well.

Guess there won't be a sequel?

Must read

Must read from the beginning of the series. Did a great job bring all the stories together. Each book is approximately 300 pages. Love them

4.5 stars!

Ok I really enjoyed book 4. I only read books 1 & 2 and I was bored. This one was intense and I throughly enjoyed it.

Best one yet!

I love this series! I was a little disappointed in the book before this one. But "Make me yours" brought it all together and made it worth reading.

It was a very good love story between angel and demon without using the real religions name of angel or demon like we know, but using the fiction in different realms.

Redemption means more than saying sorry. Both Mayra and Gaelin have a past that makes them guilty, but finding each other, despite all the trauma and torment, may just give them a second chance.
