Iskander: Mobile Tactical Aero-Ballistic/Cruise Missile Complex
The Iskander mobile tactical aero-ballistic/cruise missile complex has been developed for domestic Russian service, Iskander-M, and the export market, Iskander-E, as a survivable 21st century replacement for older generation tactical ballistic missile complex’s dating back to the Soviet era.
This volume sets out to detail the Iskander-M/E missile complex in service with the Russian Federation Land Force and export customer(s). All technical data relating to the respective weapon systems and their components have been provided by the respective design bureau/offices, as has much of the imagery and graphics with additional impute from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the United States defense industry and Department of Defense.

If anything was proved in last few months it is that when it comes to full fledged warfare artillery and missiles play and will always play most important role.
This rather short [but very rich in illustrations and technical specifications] book describes the development of medium tactical ballistic missiles starting from Soviet Scud missiles, through TOCHKA family of weapons over OKA to modern Iskander.
Very interesting read, author gives lots of technical information (that is opened to public) about Iskander missile complex. And I have to say lots of what he noted in the book got confirmed in the news from the field.
Highly recommended.
