She works for me and she lives’ next door.

I’m screwed. I can’t take it anymore. Her huge breasts, peeking out beneath her business suit; her bright smile, greeting me, making me hard the minute she looks at me. It’s too much.
I want to shove her against the wall and f*ck the innocence right out of her.
I have a company and a daughter to take care of. I can’t be tangled up with a 23-year-old intern.
This is so wrong. And WTF was I thinking making a no-fraternizing policy?
Well, we know which head will win this battle. I’ve been wearing the good guy hat too long.
F*ck being Mr. Nice Guy. I’m going back to the old me. I’ll show her what a real man is like.

It took me 2 weeks to finish this book.

This book was horribly written and under developed. Everything: from plot to characters to 2nd characters, what includes a 7 years old little girl, the male mc's daughter, who if the author didn't tell she was that young I'd think she was in her middle to late teens. For me, who's around kids all the time is very annoying when authors have no idea how a child behave and speak.
Anyway, I was planning on having a lot of excerpts to give you folks an idea of how ridiculous these characters are. But I think I would be making a copy of the book here. Let's just say the female mc chose her career based in this ex rock band man turned music magazine editor, what it wouldn't really be a problem where you get your inspiration from. The problem is her real dream was to sleep with the guy. She had a dream of becoming one of his groupies and she had these thoughts throughout the book. The male mc was a ex drug, alcohol, sex addict (lol) rock band player who turned his life around because of his daughter but was always feeling nostalgic about his old days when he could fuck "nameless and faceless' woman while in a alcohol and drug haze.
The female mc first day of internship (the only magazine she applied for, because of reasons lol) was so disappointing to me as a reader. From the female mc on the first page:

"Peeking at her figure in the side mirror of the building's foyer, she inspected her taut, tight waist, her firm, rounded breasts, and he long, swirling brunette hair, If she hadn't chosen to write about bands and music, she would have been welcomed as a groupie, unquestionably. But she felt herself too intelligent for that." Really?? Isn't she smart?

This bunch of interns were waking around the office with this woman called Maggie, the intern organizer and good friends with the male mc, who she wishes to be fucked by him again like the other days. Eye rolling here. These are the intern thoughts:

"...Maggie said something about sleeping with him, a long time ago. But I keep starring at her, wondering. She can't be hot back then. She's certainly not anything to look at now." "Well, she's his age. I don't think it's too far outside of reality. Besides, I don't think Quentin cared back then what his girls looked like. He was set on fucking them, regardless.

Another intern, a gay guy, said he wishes he could sleep with the male mc what brings jealousy to the female mc because now she knows that the other interns felt the same as she. But she also know she didn't have a chance with him unless she was 24 back then when he'd been addled, crazed rock star.

The book tone is like that through to the end. Vain, mechanical, futile. the author tried too hard without success to show us how smart and career driven the mcs were but failed "with success".
Those both were driven by sex. There wasn't a time when they were together, either at the office or at his house, even with his daughter around or anywhere else she didn't want to suck his cock or he didn't want to fuck her.

The office had a non fraternization rule that for the looks of it the interns were not happy about:
"Jesus Christ, A non fraternization rule? You've got to be kidding me."

Like I said, since the beginning, even with all the efforts the author tried to tell us how smart, mature and professional the female mc was, unfortunately, in the eyes of this readers here, her only goal was to get in the males mc pants. then when she sees him for the 1st time that's what she does:

Charlotte hung back, allowing herself to be one of the last to pass by Maggie and Quentin. Her eyes turned toward Quentin. Her hips shimmied from left to right, articulating her curves, her femininity. She knew what she was doing; it had become automatic." After this show off, of course the male mc makes eye contact with her. And then begins all the so called sexual tension. LOL. The author made sure to tell all the effing time how the sexual tension was strong when both of them were in a room. But we never felt it. It's not because something is told you every single page that it becomes "real". It's forced. After more of Charlotte making herself noticed by the hero, those are her thoughts.
In this moment Charlotte felt like one of his groupies from ten years before, when he'd ransacked the bodies of teenage and twenty-something beauties all over the country. His penetrating gaze made her feel suddenly sexual charged.

And when they had sex for the first time that's what she thought:

...and (his cock) probably fucked a hundred women before her, all without comprehension of their names. Loving the anonymity of becoming just another of Quentin's women, Charlotte pressed her face forward,....

There are many more of things like that in the book. The male mc reminiscing the old good rock days and the female mc getting her fantasies fulfilled.

One from the hero: "... I hate to say this, but I fucked tons of women. And none pf them were ever privy to my life."

At some point in the book the male mc took her to one of the crazy parties and it was like her dream coming true: ...Quentin's old world of drugs and sex and abandonment. This was the world she craved, from he lonely position in Ohio. The world she expected for herself as a music groupie.

And the male mc saw an opportunity to relive his glorious days:

"I'll just take a little bit (cocaine). It's been years. And you, baby, you've ignited something in me. I want to live again, you know?"

Who would guess that wanting to do drug again was a sign of good relationship. I wouldn't be happy if my husband told me I'd made so happy he wants to use drugs. Different folks, different strokes kind of taste. Then he proceeds to offer some to her.

"Come on baby. You want a little bit? he asked preparing to go after the drummer. I promise, it's good shit. It's only good at these parties."
I would fell flattered with an offer as this one. NOT. lol

In her defense, she left the place saying she was too much of a novice to be doing this kind of things. Eye rolling. but before leaving, one of the interns saw her with him and she realized they were on the out. Yes, she was sleeping with the editor in chief and everyone else would think bad of her, that she only got the feature because of that. But what comes to our woman mind?

In her mind, the world had just split in two. In another reality, in another timeline, she and Quentin were snorting cocaine till dawn, celebrating he successful interview into infinity.

But this wasn't possible because now her coworker was probably on her way to tell everyone about them. What a sad situation. Snorting coke was definitely a better idea.
They don't talk about what happened, but as soon as they get home she so desperately ripped his pants to his knees and started sucking him off. Like a goodbye. If tomorrow they were not together anymore, at least they had a goodbye sex. Cute, eh?!

To prove that seducing him was she had in mind all the time that what she wears to work after they were found out:

...conscious to choose a simple black pants and a black turtleneck, her least sexual clothes, asserting the difference her old self and the new one.. Pitiful.

Their interaction toward the book was ridiculous. Every time they were together something like that happened: her pussy lips would part with desire, revealing her pink lips and swollen clit. But the author made sure to write this same sentence using all different words. In the end all the same. And of course the male mc penis was instantly hard.
Not to mention everyone in this book would star a sentence with the word "HA". Does anyone speaks like this? "Ha. I knew you would come here" "HA, blah blah blah". So many HAs if I didn't control myself I would be doing the same thing. What a lack of imagination.

And to show the little 7 years child was wise beyond her years: "But dad ate half of the batter already. You can't trust him with anything. Just like I couldn't trust him not to hurt you." "He doesn't know how to play nice all the time. But I want you to forgive him, because I know he's sorry. He hasn't smiled in days. And it's getting old." What 7 years old talks like this? I for sure might been hanging out with the immature ones. They sure don't talk like this. AT ALL.

I know my review is a big mess. But I was so frustrated with this book. I thought I was going to get a nice office (forbidden) romance, instead I got this ridiculous book with immature, ridiculous character. Honestly, I'm not one of the good ones who will give chances to other books of authors I didn't like the books. I didn't connect with the writing style. I like at least to feel some connection, a chemistry between the mcs. There was nothing. I was rolling my eyes and feeling annoyed most of the time. It took me 2 weeks to read a book that ends @24% in my kindle.

ARC Received for an honest review from the author Kira Blakely

I'm very honored to receive an ARC so a very BIG THANK YOU!!

The blurb is in first person, but the book itself actually isn't. I don't like to read in third person because that way I can't connect with the characters and I get easily confused. In this case I wasn't confused.

Quentin has a wild rockstar past and now works as an editor with MMM. Charlotte is an intern with MMM, who recently moved to the big city. They also happen to live across the hall from each other. Quentin has a sassy and fun daughter wich makes him a hot single dad.

I always enjoy reading about a redhead because I myself am one. Mostly we get bullied and maybe that's why I love reading about them. But to be honest I found Pamela and Maggie both real bitches. But those are needed too.

I really enjoyed this journey, they didn't have it easy.

DNF @21% (62% if you consider that the book ends at 34%)

JFC, what the hell was I thinking when I started this book without first looking at the reviews?

First of all, it’s riddled with clichés. You have the naïve, small-town girl that’s new to the big city for a new job and desperate to prove herself. But uh-oh! She falls for the forbidden boss literally the moment they meet.

Then you have the badboy rock star turned magazine editor that has been reformed of his drug and sex addictions since having a kid. And the moment he sees the heroine BOOM! Boner. But he can’t sleep with her because of the no-fraternization policy even though he has slept with another woman he works with in the past and she’s clearly still hung up on him to the point that she treats the heroine like shit. But she’s so good at her job! She’s irreplaceable!

Secondly, this hero was just skeevy with his thoughts. Here are some gems (all after he meets the heroine):

Some random band guy: Dude, you remember ten years ago? When we playing that show in Queens? You grabbed that girl in the front row, lifted her onto the stage, and just started making out with her in the middle of the song.

A mad smile stretched over Quentin’s face in memory. He remembered that girl, how she’d pressed her lips onto his and lifted her legs around his waist.

“That was around the time when you got that tat in Paris.”

“I still have it of course,” Quentin said gruffly […] “Otherwise, I wouldn’t remember her name now.”

Wait, dude seriously got a tattoo of some random chick he hooked up with?? Di-fucking-sgusting.

**********

Thinking about the heroine:

Her thin yet toned legs had been reminiscent of any groupie from his former band days, legs that had wrapped around his waist countless times as he’d fucked them from above- almost never remembering their faces, nor their names. Seeing Charlotte out there had forced him through countless memories, gorgeous ones.

**********

As he’s pulling his dick out to wank it to “thoughts of the heroine”:

He remembered getting naked on stage, more than ten years before, and penetrating some raucous groupie in front of the drum kit, as fans watched nearby.

**********

Thinking about how he shouldn’t pursue the heroine, but how if he did, she’d be so for it:

He’d watched them [groupies] dive after him, during his shows around ten years before [btw, we get it, most of this shit happened ten years before]. He’d flaunted it, bragging about the women who’d done anything he asked. And now, Charlotte was his employee, bound to do whatever he asked, regardless.

This sunuvabitch is seriously contemplating how easy the heroine would be because he was in a position of power and had the ability to ruin her if she refused. He’s mentally prepping sexual assault.

**********

This is AFTER he’d already started sleeping with the heroine:

As he paced through the hallway, a tiny redheaded nurse walked past him, shuffling her ass from side to side. She had a tight, taut waist, a small, bird-like neck, and lithe feet, which pulsed across the linoleum at the speed of light. She wasn’t like these other hulk-like nurses. She was different. During his rock-star days, he would have branded her as fuckable and shoved her into a closet, stripping her panties to the floor. But Quentin felt nothing.

Well now wait a minute. He felt nothing? Um, no, pretty sure he was feeling some significant growth in his pants based on his thought process there.

Also, hulk-like nurses?

As a nurse, I am 100% offended by this on behalf of all nurses. Nurses are there to help patients and save fucking lives. Not be eye candy to asshole perverts and screw this author for contributing to such a ridiculous stereotype.

But I can’t say I’m surprised since almost all characters were just shallow caricatures based on overdone stereotypes that I’m seriously sick of seeing.

There’s the MCs and their clichés I’ve already pointed out. Then the flamboyantly gay friend that so wants to sleep with the heterosexual hero. Then there’s the hero’s coworker that happens to be the vindictive former fling that’s so hung up on her sexual past with him that she shouts it from the rooftops. Then there’s the professional competition that takes her job too seriously, but gets super jealous of the attention H gives the h and eventually resorts to bitter taunts. The ex-wife’s new boyfriend that has some boring job and wears khakis and turtle necks because ew, gross, right? Then the adorable yet too smart for her age daughter. And finally the ex-wife, who actually gets a pass because she wasn’t spiteful and out to cause drama. So, yay for creative deviation.

And finally, and I’m going to say finally not because it’s my last problem with the story but because I just want to get this review over with: the doormat heroine. The hero has sex with the heroine and she falls asleep at his place. He gets a call at 4am with a legitimate emergency. And instead of waking the heroine up and briefly explaining he needs to go and he’ll see her later or something, he tells her to get out. He’s back to the no-fraternization policy all of a sudden even though he’s already slept with the heroine numerous times, so he figures this is the perfect opportunity to be a dick and push her away.

When he doesn’t come in to work the next day, the heroine starts harassing her boss aka the former fling about where the hero is and it gets back to him and he gets pissed that she didn’t catch on that he was pushing her away. When he returns the following day he refuses to even look at her or acknowledge her existence. When she outsmarts him in one of his meetings, he storms out pissed. Then former fling proudly informs him that she has dutifully fired the heroine. Does hero get mad? Nope, he feels guilty for saying something snarky to former fling. Then he rushes out to go tell the heroine she’s not fired because even though he doesn’t want to be with her, she is really smart and good for the magazine. He finds her on the street bawling her eyes out with makeup running down her face. He has a sudden change of heart and kisses her. And she lets him. And immediately returns with him to work with a smile on her face and blissed that he wants her. She said nothing to him about how he treated her. Nothing.

And that’s when I called an end to my torture because I just can’t with this anymore. I never want to think of this book again.

OK, so this book was good, not great and not bad but in the middle for me. I loved that it was a fast paced read but for me the insta stuff was "too" insta for me. I don't mind these types of reads if they are done right by my reading expectations but this was way too fast. Give me some type of build-up and this one just got off straight away and I didn't care for it:( This was a time where it didn't work for me.

I also felt Charlotte was a little too "needy" too aggressive for me and maybe that's not the right words but yeah, she for me, came off as "too much" for me. I love getting inner dialogue at times to know where my characters stand BUT for me she was too "forward" I guess......sorry, I am having a hard time to describe but yeah, her character was a little off putting at first BUT then I did come around to her and by the end which btw thank god there is an extended epilogue because I wa=ould have seen red, lol, but by the EXTENDED Epilogue I was glad to see where they headed and where they were still going after:)

I thought the storyline itself was great, it was the execution that fell a bit flat for me but again, maybe it's a case of me and not you.....

It was just a good/ok read for me, nothing stand-out and yet, nothing bad either. Just middle of the pact type book.

Quentin is a strung out former rock star, who has cleaned up his life to raise his daughter. He's loaded and the women still fall at his feet, but he's a serious journalist at a music magazine.

When the latest set of interns comes into the office, he immediately notices Charlotte. Not only is she gorgeous, she's intelligent, witty and confident. In other words, she's trouble.

He's got a no fraternization policy in place for a reason. Relationships at the office just don't work, but when he finds out that he also lives next door to this young beauty, he can't keep his hands to himself.

From the moment their eyes meet in the office, the sparks between them are jumping off the pages. The hot, intense and electric chemistry between Charlotte and Quentin is palpable.

Quentin has a young daughter and she also immediately takes to Charlotte. For once in his life, Quentin can picture having a perfect little family unit, but Charlotte isn't long-term potential. If they get caught she'll be unemployed and black listed as a woman who sleeps her way to the top. They can have their fun in private at home, but if anyone finds out, they'll both be in hot water.

I really loved this sexy, sweet and very hot single dad romance. Quentin's daughter Morgan was hilarious and I loved that she was brave enough to speak her mind to adults, especially when it came to discussions involving Charlotte. A forbidden workplace romance is one of my favourite kinds of books and this one was just a perfect example of everything that is sexy about an office romance. Loved it so much!

Standalone. HEA. No cliffhanger.

GIRLS GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE WATER! IMAGINE THIS WERE A REAL LIFE SITUATION ! IF YOU HAD A BOSS WHO HAD PERVERTED THOUGHTS LIKE THESE RUNNING THROUGH HIS HEAD EVERY TIME YOU SPOKE TO HIM ,WOULD YOU LIKE IT? I HAVE BEEN THROUGH SOMETHING LIKE THIS, IT PAINS ME TO SEE WHAT WOMEN IN THIS WORLD HAVE COME DOWN TO. JUST BECAUSE YOU PUT A GOOD LOOKING MALE ON THE COVER AND MAKE EVERYTHING SOUND SO SENSUAL , IT IS NOT OKAY! I DISCOURAGE PUBLISHERS FROM PRINTING SUCH BOOKS AND PUTTING WRONG IDEAS IN THE HEADS OF THE FEMALE POPULATION, BOOKS HAVE BECOME A MONEY MAKING BUSINESS WITH NO REGARD TO AN INDIVIDUAL'S SELF RESPECT , DIGNITY WHATSOEVER. I'M 21 AND IF I AM DISGUSTED BY THIS , IT SAYS SOMETHING. WOMAN, USE YOUR HEAD! USE THAT BRAIN OF YOURS TO ACTUALLY PROCESS WHAT YOU'RE READING, THINK! WOULD YOU ACTUALLY WANT A GUY LIKE THIS? HE'S MENTALLY RAPING YOU. THINK FOR A SECOND , WOULD YOU WANT YOUR LITTLE GIRL TO READ THIS? AND DEVELOP A LIKING FOR THIS SORT OF RUBBISH?

Quentin & Charlotte are a cute couple when they can be a couple. Quentin is a big wig for a magazine company. He used to be a hard rock rocker that lived a drug and women filled life. Now he is a father, divorced, and wants to make better choices. He doesn't mix business with pleasure and that is a hard rule. But when he meets Charlotte those rules seem to leave his head.

Charlotte has watch Quentin from afar. He is the rockstar she has wanted all her life. Now she is an intern at his magazine. And the chemistry is off the roof. But they have to be careful. She doesn't want people to think she is getting anything from him. And he doesn't want anyone to know about their relationship period.

I enjoyed this story to a point. The story is hot, but I felt bad for Charlotte. She gets the bad end of this deal a lot. Quentin doesn't know how to be a normal boyfriend most of the time, so he has a lot to learn. But it is interesting to read. But I liked it.

What a great story by Kira Blakey about a young woman, Charlotte, who is interning as a music writer at a magazine. The magazine has an editor who years ago was a legend in the music industry and one of her idols. Quentin did it all when he was a musician, drinking, drugs, sex addict but it all changed when he became a father, he knew he had to clean up his act and grow up. Unfortunately the magazine has a no fraternization policy but the two can't help but breaking those rules, they are drawn to each other and both having feelings neither have felt before. When she gets an article to write by herself jealousies are all around the office including the other interns. When one of them finds them together her whole world is crushed, people believing the only reason she got the article was because she was sleeping with the boss. Now she has to prove herself to everyone including herself.
A great story with lust/love, steamy scenes and a young woman who is strong and voices her opinions with passion towards her love of writing, standing up to the bosses and the man who finally finds love and doesn't want to let it go.

I really enjoyed this book. Quinton and Charlotte meshed together well but at the same time they really didn't. To be honest in this review I don't really see what all the hype is about. The story was quick and dragged in some places also had some gaps for me. I really wanted to reach in and grab them from the book when drugs became involved and when a co-worker saw them together.
When Charlotte got another job with Rolling Stone she should have stood up and owned it but, she didn't neither did he. Though I do agree this book was hot but not over the top hot.

I only read the book I didn't read past the book though it's nice to see the author add another in there but for me I want to read the book I bought not the rest. Thanks anyways.

Sex was hot but not over the top hot.

P.S. I loved the Quinton's daughter she was a laugh

Highly entertaining, sexy fun, sweetly charming and irresistibly passionate romantic journey... Loved every heart pounding twist and turn.

Quentin is a sexy, charming and determined to be tame ex-rock star tying to change his lifestyle for his little girl. (so sweet) Charlotte is a sweet, charming small town girl from Ohio looking to chase her dream of becoming a big name writer. Enjoyed the chemistry and white hot sparks between these two. Was a emotionally engaging and witty banter kinda read.

He's her boss. She's his intern. He may be the man in charge, but when it comes to emotions, they both have a lot to learn. Quentin was a wild child until responsibility came calling. Fatherhood has a way of forcing a person to clean up their act. Now the wild rocker has become a devoted father and reserved businessman. Everything is going his way until a naive small town girl enters his life and sends his world into chaos. One Hot Daddy is a bundle of cliches united to entertain.

I enjoyed this book very much. I really liked Quentin and Charlotte. I thought that they worked well together. I loved the relationship he had with his daughter. I also really enjoyed the scenes with his daughter. She always made me laugh with all her spunk. I was a little disappointed by how Randy handled things at the end but thankfully it worked out. I thought he was the only other cool intern.

Enjoyed the cute little romance between Quentin and Charlotte. Boss and Intern. Celebrity and fangirl. It was too cute. I loved how they didn't really try hard to fight the attraction between them. Though everything happened quickly with them I liked it considering how quick the story was. I loved the cuteness of Morgan, Quentin's daughter. She just made everything so much better. I hated Pam and Maggie. Good read.

Too unbelievable. She works for him; actually is an intern in his company. The first day she shows up, they realize they live in the same building, same floor. That same day, he visits her and kisses her? Seriously? Way too soon, in my opinion. Seemed like the author was in a rush to start the romance and "action".

One Hot Daddy by Kira Blakely a stupendous five-star read. I am such a fan girl for Kira Blakely’s writing, I can’t get enough of her words. I devoured this book when it hit my Kindle, I was reading every spare second, in the 10 minutes before I started work, during my lunch break, when I got home instead of making dinner!! You need this book in your life!!
Quentin McDonnell wears several hats, and the best one I can see is sex god. He seems to have his life planned out, not necessarily the life he had planned all those years ago, but he has been thrown lemons and made lemonade. The only problem was, he didn’t plan on a 23-year-old intern from coming into his life. But plans are meant to be broken, and make life fun. You need this book in your life!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book with no requirement for leaving a review. This review is being left voluntarily and any and all thoughts are my honest opinions on this book and the authors work. This book was just ok for me. This author usually gets higher review from me, unfortunately not this time. I felt the characters could really have used better development and growth. I feel like the author missed an opportunity to make this a great book by being more descriptive and having more depth to the characters. On a good note, the chemistry was hot.

I really don't understand how this book got so many 5 star reviews

This book didn't grab my attention for the very first chapter. I didn't like any of the characters and thought that Charlotte and Q had absolutely no chemistry. It was honestly cringey to read. Did you know that Charlotte was thin? No, I wouldn't have figured it out either if it wasn't pointed out 100+ times. The characters come off as really superficial, and I even found it painful to skim.

Surprisingly weak

The story was predictable. I didn't feel the heat between the main characters at all. I like Kira Blakely in general, but not this book.

Missing the Main Components of a Great Romance

I NEVER give negative reviews, but this one required comment.

A typical love story can be romantic, then perhaps sensual, and then sexy . . . the next category down is just plain crude . . . and, so it is with this novel.

Charlotte, a recent college graduate and Midwestern small-town girl, gets her dream internship at a well-known music magazine in New York. Starting her internship, she develops an immediate strong connection with her boss, Quentin, 10+ years her senior and a divorced father of a 7-year-old-girl. In addition, she coincidentally lives in the same apartment building as he, on the same floor.

Ok, a great, if not overly convenient set-up, but things go downhill from there. The interesting parts of any romance are the main characters’ lives, what baggage they bring to the table, and the development of their relationship over time. Seeing how they learn about each other, how the other person becomes enamored of them, and what they begin to admire about the other. These are all the fascinating things we learn about the main characters which make the reader emotionally invested in the relationship.

Charlotte and Quentin basically have a hard look at each other, decide it’s a ‘go’ the first day they meet, barely know each other’s last names, and, within 20 pages, are lovers. I don’t think they exchange 5 sentences between each other, before they’re taking their clothes off. If it were only that easy . . .

Compounding this problem, they really don’t have a lot to say to each other later in the story either. Quentin has a tortuous past, which he struggles with and thinks about plenty, but he hardly ever discusses it with Charlotte. Charlotte is ostensibly this wide-eyed, inexperienced girl who launches herself at this man she doesn’t know, who’s way older than she, and has a daughter. The disconnect here is palpable as the reader gets further in the book and realizes the story isn’t going to circle back and close some of these gaps.

As an aside, the seven year old, while seeming determined and overly smart for her age at first, over time comes across as sarcastic and inappropriate with her dad.

The erotic scenes are on an advanced level where the Charlotte character simply isn’t, so they feel superimposed in the book. The bodily descriptions are repetitive and, frankly, detract from the storyline, because the reader is simply wincing from seeing them over and over. I’ve never heard female body parts referred to as p*ssy lips . . . it’s not sexy, it’s just crude. And these lips are everywhere, they’re pink, red, wet, glistening, peach colored, heck, they’re a freakin’ chameleon. On top of that, they’re opening, widening, stretching, quivering, shrinking, shivering, they have heartbeats, they have more lines than Charlotte. In hindsight, I believe the entire relationship with Quentin occurs simply between him and these . . . lips. I mean, these things get around.

Again, the original set-up of this book was inspired. I think the age difference, the differing experience levels of the two, the parenting component, not to mention the workplace complications, could have all be woven together to build a really beautiful story, and it does have a happy ending. However, this book focuses more on the immediate, and superficial, physical attraction between the two main characters to the exclusion of the remainder of the story.

What can I say, another great read by Kira Blakely. I absolutely have loved every book that I have read of hers and this one was no different. Charlotte has always loved the music world and has always followed bands since she was younger. When she has a chance to intern at the MMM magazine for the music world, she cannot wait to start. Moving from Ohio to New York is a big change but working for this magazine is a dream come true as well as their editor in cheif Quentin McDonnell who used to be the lead singer of one of her favorite bands. When they first see each other in the office, the connection that they have is undeniable. The chemistry is off the charts and they haven't even met yet. With the no-fraternization clause that this company has in place is for reasons like this. When they can't resist each other and sleep together will things change? Not right away because Quentin lets her know that it can't happen again. When you are so attracted to someone though can you stay away when you see each other daily and then live next door to each other as well? What will this do to their careers? Quentin has a 7 year old daughter that he is responsible for, she is his life, will Charlotte be good enough to be part of that life too? I can tell you that there is so much going on in this book that you have to pick up a copy for yourself. I am not one to go into too much detain and I apologize for this but if I gave too much away, why would you want to read the book? I wouldn't if I already knew exactly what was going to happen. Trust me, it's worth your time. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. Enjoy.

This is a story about an older rock star, Quentin and his new intern Charlotte at the magazine he is the editor. Quentin was your typical rock star into drugs and sex. One day he find himself married and they have a little girl, Morgan who becomes his life. Quentin cleans up his act and makes a successful editor of the magazine MMM. Charlotte finds herself at an internship at MMM which is her dream job! She is very intelligent and seems to have a knack for writing about music. There is a rule where you can not have a relationship with anyone in the company but Quentin takes the risk. Charlotte knows she should not be doing this but finds herself falling for Quentin very quickly. Things are good for a couple of weeks and once the bottom falls out from under them. Charlotte was given the chance to write an article for the magazine at the same time things come to a halt and she takes the time to write her story. Quentin knows he may have lost Charlotte but is respecting her decision. There are some twist to this story and the outcome is beautiful and funny all at once! I loved Morgan’s character and what she does for those around her. She is one special young lady with her personality and talent. Quentin is editor of MMM magazine and a single dad. Charlotte is an intern at the magazine wanting to be a writer. When they meet for the first time sparks fly and they have a connection neither expected. Quentin is used to scandals after being in his own band for years however he wasn't about to make one when he had changed his life around for his daughter. And him and Charlotte would create a huge scandal especially with the no fraternizing clause in their contracts. It becomes too much temptation when he finds out that she'll be leaving on the same floor as him and they end up in bed together that first night. Both know that its wrong but they can't seem to hep themselves. What will happen if their secret comes out before they are ready?

This was a hot story and will keep you turning pages from the first page. Once I started it I couldn't stop. The chemistry between Quentin and Charlotte was off the charts hot. I would recommend this to any book lover.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.

One Hot Daddy is double trouble....not only is it a daddy next door romance, it is also an older man/younger woman romance and Boss/employee romance.

Charlotte is from a little place in the middle of nowhere Ohio. Writing and music are her passion. Charlotte lands a internship at a magazine that writes about music.

Quentin is a former musician who lived life to the fullest....drugs, women and partying. When Quentin becomes a father he changes his life around for his precious daughter. Gone are the wild days and now he is editor at one of the most respected music magazine company MMM.

Charlotte and Quentin have an immediate attraction and strong pull towards each other that it makes it hard to stay away. Their chemistry is off the charts hot and is bound to cause trouble within the office. Will Quentin and Charlotte be able to handle the drama and find away to be together without risking their jobs in the process.

This is a definite one-click and and exceptional read! Plus two bonus stories and a sneak peek!

Wow, One Hot Daddy was my first Kira Blakely read. I am hooked and a forever fan and reader. One Hot Daddy is one of the hottest reads I've had the pleasure of reading lately. We're on the adventures of Charlotte a newly graduated up and coming writer who has a internship at Mad Music Magazine. A magazine she followed in her younger years and the editor of MMM Quentin McDonnell happens to be the lead singer of a rock group that she followed in her younger years as well. Little did our Ohio girl Charlotte and our editor Quentin know after the first meeting there's a instant attraction with another. After a hot night of sex will the no fraternization policy stop them from giving into the passion or will they follow their heart. A super hot and sexy read with a HEA. Kira wrote this fantastically, the character, storyline was well written. Definitely leaves me wanting more of Charlotte and Quentin.

An ARC was provided in exchange for a honest review.

I loved this book! Great story and great characters!
When Charlotte gets an internship at the music magazine where her teenage rock star crush works as the editor, she thinks her dreams have come true. When she realizes that Quentin and his daughter, Morgan, live just down the hall from her aunt's apartment, where she'll be staying, she realizes her dreams just got a little bigger.
Quentin seldom has anything to do with the interns at the magazine, but when he sees Charlotte, he just can't keep his eyes or mind off of her. When he heads home with his daughter and meets Charlotte moving into his building, he quickly realized he may have trouble keeping more than that off of her.
With a no fraternization rule in place at the magazine, these two may find themselves in quite the situation if they aren't very careful, but will it be worth it?
