Second Chances Do Exist.

“Two years ago I discovered something. I discovered that maybe my happiness wasn’t set on my relationship with Thomas and when I left here and you dropped me off, I was determined to set things straight with him.”

“And did you?” he asked.
I nodded. “I did. I told him the truth.”

He sat there in silence. It was like everyone in the coffee shop left at the wrong time because you could hear a pin drop. “So, did you break up?” he asked. It was in a tentative way. He didn’t look like he wanted to; it was almost like he had to.
I nodded. “We broke up that day. He moved out three days later.”

He processed those words and it was evident that he was confused by something. He was also eager to state his confusion. “Then why no call?” he asked.
I had been rehearsing that answer for the past two years...

Sometimes if you close your eyes, you’ll miss what’s right in front of you.

Title: Chance:

Author: Rachel Rise

It's the first book I’ve read from this author, but I have to say I would definitely read more. I love finding new authors ❤💕
Charity & boyfriend (Thomas) had an misunderstand & argument, & all of a sudden she started doubting their relationship. Mind you Thomas statements were really out there for someone claiming to be in love. Charity went to a club to cool off & collect her thoughts on her relationship with Thomas, where she meets Nolan
Nolan- of course he rich, gorgeous & player.. But when he meets Charity, he believes he met his match

➦They had one night stand – Charity waking up alone & finding Nolan note assume that was that… Nolan went to his office to do some work only to realize he couldn’t focus, cuz he had regretted leaving Charity at his penthouse . Misunderstanding from both sides

➦Charity & Nolan meet again one year later & their feelings haven’t changed one bit. Sparks are still there, will these two finally have a chance to be together?

➦The story line has great potential, it was lacking development for me, but since this is Rachel Rise 1st book & her debut novel, I believe she had potential to grow into amazing author. I am not saying that Rachel Rise isn’t good author, just not great author yet

➦Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion

Nolan is so hot.

I really enjoyed this book. It's the first book I 've read from this author but I have to say I would definitely read more. The story is really good I luv a strong alpha CEO and Nolan was that guy. I really liked his character he isn't super dominate man but he knows what he wants and I like that about him and once he got a look at Charity he wanted her.

Charity's life was goin good she had a good job her boyfriend was great. Until they had an argument and al of a sudden she started doubting there relationship. Seeing Nolan didn't help her feelings once he got under her skin. The attraction was instead but there were complications that needed to be sorted but things never go the way you want to.

I enjoyed this book I was dying to know how things were goin to go with Nolan and Charity. Things didn't go smooth at al for them. The story didn't drag at al it kept my on the edge al the time. I didn't think the story would go the way it did so it was a great surprise. I luvd the duel pov it's great seeing what a man is thinking. I would highly recommend this book. It was short sweet and lovable.

Chance: A Bad Boy Billionaire Romance by Rachel Rise was a stand-alone and the first book I’ve read by the author.

I enjoyed the premise of the story: girl was in a stable, yet boring relationship, meets boy, questions what she wants out of life. Boy is a playboy, meets girl, begins to question future. It wasn’t a new storyline but one that had promise. However, it didn’t keep me intrigued and I wasn’t in love with the characters. I was craving more detail and emotion. I liked that it covered multiple years but I desired more description and depth. I also liked that it didn’t have ex drama. No spoilers, but it could have taken a familiar turn that would increase the drama and action, but would have compromised the current storyline. All and all, it was a quick and sweet read.

Charity just broke up with her boyfriend and goes to a bar to forget everything for a while. At that bar, she meets Nolan. They dance together and sparks fly. They spend the night together. Nolan wants to spend more time with Charity and wants to know her better, but Charity is gone the next day. Charity and Nolan meet again one year later and their feelings haven’t changed one bit. Sparks fly again and they hope to finally have a chance to be together.

Charity and Nolan are great characters. Charity works hard and she’s very good at her job. She’s passionate, smart and kind. She could be a little stubborn sometimes. Nolan is a rich, successful businessman. He doesn’t do relationships and he isn’t looking for a girlfriend, but he changes his mind when he meets Charity. He wants her and only her. Nolan missed her when they were apart for one year. He hoped that he would ever see her again, but he also wants answers about why she left.

I liked the characters and the writing a lot. I definitely want to read more books by Rachel Rise. I just wished for more scenes of Charity and Nolan as a couple. I get that sometimes it isn’t the right time to be together and I loved it that they found each other again. But when they were finally together, the book was over. I wanted more romantic scenes between them. I did love the epilogue.

'Chance: A Bad Boy Billionaire Romance' by Rachel Rise is the story of Charity and Nolan.
Charity is dating Thomas who she meet through friends. Charity feels happy enough with him but Thomas said some stupid things on night. That night made her leave him for a break and she meet Nolan. Nolan is a rich guy who doesn't do relationships..he is in to one night stands and sleep with his assistant Francesca on/off. But one night he meets Charity at a bar and they hook up. Nolan wants to see more of her but when he returns to his apartment after leaving for work for a short time she is gone. They don't meet again until about one year later. Charity's car is broke down and Nolan is there to help her. Nolan comes right out and asked to see her again but Charity is hesitant to do so. Thomas has moved into her house about two months ago and they were trying to give their relationship a chance. But Charity hasn't been as close to Thomas since her meeting with Nolan.
This was a great second chance at love with both having some issue to deal with.
Overall are really nice read!

Chance by Rachel Rise a fabulous five-star read. This is a Bad boy billionaire romance, it’s the debut novel by this author and what a debut. It’s a great read, its honest and captivating, her descriptive skills are great, the picture painted is one that you can’t help but visualise and see it unfolding before your very eyes. If you believe in fate then this is a book for you, there is a great quote that fits this book ‘We don’t meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our paths for a reason’. Sometimes that reason is so we can fall in love, and sometimes it’s for reasons beyond what we can comprehend.
Nolan Baxter is a man who has it all, he’s good looking, rich, CEO of a big company and has an assistant with benefits, then he runs into Charity Wilcox at a night club and life will never be the same again. Will fate be kind and allow them to meet again? Or will it be cruel and put obstacles in the way?
If you have ever had anyone in your life that you have wondered what if, a chance encounter that has left you wondering, you need to read this book, and if you haven’t ever had anyone who has made you wonder then you need this book to see how that feels. The pain of wondering what if and the pleasure or sadness you feel when you find out. It’s a great read that will keep you reading until the you have devoured every page.

This book is the perfect example of how things happen for a reason. Actually I’m one of those firm believers that fate is what rules our life and I’m so glad that I was given the chance to read this book by receiving a copy. Besides being romantic, in its authenticity, what I liked most about the entire story is the strong connection between the two characters. Nolan and Charity meet at a club after her unpleasant fight with her boyfriend . Their encounter was meant to be and their one night stand will affect them through the years until both will realize that when fate calls one most let go of all the fears. A fast paced story with some steamy scenes. My compliments to the author for this enchanting book. I highly recommend its read.

Great quick read

Nolan and Charity's story isn't an insta-Love story like you would think it would be. It resulted in chance meetings over a 3 year period, where things didn't really work out like most books do. Their story is one of chance.

In their first meet up, Charity is in a bar getting drunk after a fight with her boyfriend, which was a relationship changing fight, that created a cavernous hole in her life. Can you truly stay with someone when you think there is no future? That's where this all began, but it doesn't end there. A year later they meet again. Charity is still with her boyfriend, and Nolan is on a date, but is this the end? Well, you just don't know because years go by again before they see each other the third time.

These two have a connection that is insurmountable. Neither one can forget the other, throughout the years of their chance meet ups, but is this something worth truly fighting for? Nolan is really a remarkable hero in this story, and I grew to like him more than I thought I would. Charity is unsure if this is meant to be. Throughout the many years that go on in this story, life changes things. Are they ready to take a stance and fight for each other?? This book is a great quick read that is extremely enjoyable. I hope you like it as much as I did.

The story line has great potential, it was lacking development for me. Not reading the blurb before I started may have led to that conclusion, but I wanted to go into this experience blind so I could be totally surprised while reading it.
I am giving Chance 3.5 stars... Because There were some editorial issues and I found that it was predictable.

Although I enjoyed this story, I had a real problem with Charity, a beautiful, independent woman, who chose to put up with a loser (Thomas), just to have a man in her life (bed). Yuck! There were also too many lengthy separations between Charity and Nolan and very little explanation as to why.

FORGET ABOUT YOUR FIRST LOVE. TAKE A “CHANCE”....ON A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE. 4 STARS

I really enjoyed this story by up and coming author Rachel Rise. I believe this is the first book she’s written and she’s off to a really good start.

This is a short, yet heartwarming story of one woman’s journey to let go and find true love and happiness. Sometimes, all it takes is getting smacked right in the face with love in order to know it’s right in front of you.

What Charity thought was love with her boyfriend Thomas, unfortunately turns bad over time. But not for lack of trying on her part. She put 110% into the relationship. Thomas? Not so much…. She starts to question whether or not to continue on with Thomas. Two things are standing in her way, guilt and acceptance.

She starts second guessing her beliefs of what love and life is all about. That maybe she expects too much from Thomas. So, Charity decides to stay and stick it out with him and make the best of it. She just isn’t able to let go and accept that her relationship with Thomas isn’t meant to be.

But, turns out, after an encounter with gorgeous hottie Nolan, maybe, just maybe, her deteriorating relationship with Thomas might just be a blessing in disguise. Charity slowly rediscovers what love is and finds that “true” love does exist. You only have to reach for it and take the chance on love again.

Does this come easy for Charity and Nolan? No, but no good love story is ever easy. Nolan is fighting demons of his own but he wants all in. If only he could convince Charity to let go and take that leap of faith. Charity and Nolan show each other what love can really taste like, feel like. Well, once Charity gives into the idea that is.

Their journey takes place over a number of years but the author fast forwards through time a bit, which at times, felt rushed. It would have been nice to have more one on one time with Charity and Nolan. More discussion rather than just leaving each other for years at a time without a word. For that reason, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I do wish that time didn’t skip around so fast.

My favorite part about this book was how funny and witty Charity was. Some of the things she said had me cracking up laughing.

So, forget about your first love. Take a “Chance”…. On a second chance at love and One-Click this sweet read like I did.

All in all, a great start for author Rachel Rise. I look forward to her next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Sweet romance...3.5 stars!

After a misunderstanding with her boyfriend, Charity Wilcox finds herself at a bar trying to drown her sorrows and second guessing at her relationship with Thomas. Thinking that after six months, her love for Thomas wasn’t the kind of relationship he had in mind, after all.

Nolan Baxter is making his usual rounds at the bar when he spots Charity. He approaches her with his gorgeous, panty-melting smile and a proposition which she accepts. Why not? Nolan’s offer is the best medicine to washing away a sinking relationship. Charity and Nolan have one night of unbridled passion. The chemistry between them is electrifying and never before experienced by either Nolan or Charity. Untimely events occur where Nolan and Charity seem to miss connections, and the their paths take separate turns. Both are haunted by the memory of that one night and are affected through the years of what could have been.

For Charity, her guilt and indecision keeps her from accepting the truth about the relationship between her and Thomas. For Nolan, a past betrayal soured his notions of love, yet his feelings for Charity is unforgettable and unshakable, thinking that there could have been a possibility for more.

The author takes us on a journey that spans years, at the one year mark, and at two years. Chance meetings between Nolan and Charity are hurried and though they talk about that one night being pivotal, Charity is reluctant to commit. At this point, I’m shaking my head in frustration. The time between each meeting is described briefly, only adding to the guesses why these two never connected. Both know where the other lives, and I can only speculate it’s a case of being stubborn. Not until... you guessed it, Charity is hired by Nolan’s company as the new assistant that both can finally be together. Well, sort of. Another obstacle before them...the boss/employee taboo stuff.

Chance is the debut book by Rachel Rise, a new author to keep your eye on in the romance genre. It’s a sweet, second chance at love story that slowly built tension and uncertainty whether these two were going to be together. Not until the end when explanations are revealed by the long separations. And though it is very well written, heartwarming, and both find their second chance, I wish I could feel more of a real, cemented connection between Charity and Nolan. I wanted a bit more spark in their dialogue and emotional depth. Still, Chance is an entertaining read and I look forward to more stories from the author.

I happened upon this sweet little gem called Chance by the fabulous Rachel Rise and dove right in.

Chance appears to be Rachel's debut novel and I happen to think she is on the right track!

Chance is a quick read, perfect for the reader who wants to read but doesn't have a lot of time to invest in hundreds of pages of a complex read.

I found this book to be a sweet romance with two characters that just kept missing their opportunity at every turn.  The back and forth the author created was great and it really developed the whole missed chances theme.  I like a lot of angst in my reads, and while Chance had some, which was closer to the end, I wanted more.  I love being wrecked during and after a story!

If you are fan of sex scenes, you won't be disappointed!  There are only a few...hence the missed opportunities...but what you get is worth it!

Lamplight Review and Promotion is giving Chance by Rachel Rise 4 stars.

This was the perfect debut book for Rachel Rise, am I glad that I have her a chance. I love insta-love romances, and this one was perfect in that respect. However, it didnt follow the normal insta-love dynamics. No this insta-love happens at the beginning, but the characters dont get the HEA they deserve until years later. Its safe to say that this is a insta-second chance-love.

I love the characters as they were well developed and the plot was easy to follow. I will say that I am not a fan of cheating and this book does touch on it a bit, but it is easy to overlook it and its not a huge factor in the book. I fell in love with Nolan as he was able to wait for Charity, but I wanted to smack the ever living sh!t out of her. Seriously woman, get a grip and go after what you want.

All in all this was the perfect weekend read. I look forward to reading more books from Ms. Rise, and I look forward to watching her potential rise.

The connection between Charity and Nolan is amazing. I'm a firm believer in fate and if you are as well then this book is for you!!
Charity and Nolan meet in a club after Charity has a fight with her boyfriend.
Their chemistry is intense and their one night is amazing. Not known to them but their one night together will impact them for years.
Will fate step in? Will these two meet again?

**I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.**

I liked this book. It was well written for a first book, and it had all the elements of a compelling conflict: a pseudo second-chance and torn-between-two-lovers kind of thing. It worked--and yet it could have worked even better.

I found the long break between Charity and Nolan meeting the first and second times--1 year--and then the second and third times--2 years--completely unnecessary. A few days/weeks/months would have worked just as well and been more believable. The break itself worked well in the storyline, just not the length.

The real reason I could only give this book a 3 was because of the author's way of TELLING the story and not showing it. Interesting and vital things happened off the page--like the break-up between Charity and Thomas--and we were told about it after the fact, like it wasn't all that important. Also, much of the action wasn't really action at all; it was told in passive voice without involving the reader to become part of the story. I wanted to see, hear, feel and experience the things Charity and Nolan were going through, not be told about it in a distant, passionless voice.

This author has promise. I'd read her again and hope that she can put a little more life into her characters. That said, it's worth the read.

Chance by Rachel Rise. Is an amazing story. And the plot is well-descriptive. The characters are well-developed and full of emotions and feelings. Do you believe in a second chance in love? Charity goes through an argument with her boyfriend Tom. And she stops by at a bar to get a drink. She is not aware that love is giving her another chance in love. When she comes in contact with Nolan. There will be some ups and down. And a twist. But at the end, theirs is a happy ending after. If you want to find out what happens next. I recommend you to get this book. You would love it. Just like me. I voluntarily received an advance copy of this book to leave an honest review.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

I want to know where I can find Nolan. He is the man!
This book has it all. Love - Chemistry - Laughs - Sadness - Troubled minds.
When you have the chance to get the life you want but do not take it, what happens then?

The timeline of the book is not forced - It takes years before the reality comes to the mind of one of the main characters.

I loved this book. It is so well-written and the chemistry is so well described that you just have to read on and finish.
A Novel that is worth time and reading!

I was given this book in exchange for a honest review. I have never read this author and I was really really surprised at how good this book was It's about second chances and looking at what you really want and are willing to put up with. I loved Nolan and at times felt sorry for him. I at times wanted to beat the crap out of Charity and tell look what is right in front of you. I can't wait to see what is next for
Rachel. I think I have found a new author who I am going to enjoy following

This love story has a very laid back feeling. Kinda like floating downstream on a lazy summer day. Nolan & Charity first met in a bar and subsequently enjoyed a one-night stand. Life happens and a year passes without contact. Then chance or fate brings them together again. Just a coffee date later and tentative plans were made. But once again life happens and years pass. Yet with all this time passing, neither one could get the other out of their thoughts. They just didn't act on them. They say three times is the charm. So chance has to step in one more time. There are no coincidences in real life and whatever happens is by design. This read is a gentle, pleasant, loving experience and very enjoyable. Nice Book

First book I've read by this author and I believe it is her first book published. Not back for a newbie. Lot of potential and noticeable talent. I did feel like there should have been given more of a reason for not contacting each other over the years. I get it the first time but to me there didn't seem to be a reason for the second time they didn't call or see each other. It just felt a bit off, I guess. But over all not a bad story.
Will I read more of her books as they come out? Sure, I look forward to it.

I was approached by the author to review this book. I did not receive an ARC, I did however, borrow it on KU. This appears to be this author's first book, and for that, there is somewhat of a curve in my review, if you will.

I think the actual story had potential, however, it fell short of impressing me. I did not connect with the character's and I wasn't a real fan of the time jump(s). So, 3 stars for this one.

Second chances in life rarely happen. This book gets a 4.5 stars from me. This book was good. It keep me wondering when , if. I loved the idea the nothing might happen, that something might happen. Having fate be a part of your life is something everyone wonders in their lives. Well in this book Charity and Nolan have fate step in and give them a wake up call. This book spans over years but it really seems like fate in real life for me. Charity meets Nolan when she has a falling out with her boyfriend Thomas. She gets back together with him because of a comfortable situation. Sound familiar? Nolan can't seem to forget her. They end up meeting again. I won't spoil the story for you but fate has a way of making people stop and wonder what am I really doing with my life. I always wish the ending were longer or better so the same goes here. I read this book for an honest review. No cliffhanger and. HEA. Enjoy!

When I started this story I felt so bad for Charity she and her boyfriend Thomas have settled into that space where they don't move forward or back so when Thomas mentions never getting married she leaves. When she goes to the bar she meets Nolan and she gets drunk and they have sex at his place but the next morning when he is gone she figures she is being dismissed. Well they meet again and he gets to explain himself and she decides she has to tell Thomas. This story happens over a period of years and Charity and Nolan have to make some tough decisions but they are both so sweet you pray they get together.

What a great little story! Well done, Rachel Rise...you hit all the right buttons with this one. 👍 The storyline was solid; the main characters were fully developed; and the interplay between all of the characters provided just the right amount of angst. If I could change one thing about the book, it would be to tighten up the story in the middle--it just sort of bogs down for a couple of chapters. HEA? You know it...❤️❤️ (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and really liked it!) You need to 1-Click this book today!
