Embracing His Omega

Rate this book
Jace had always assumed he would present as an alpha. Looks, attitude, aptitude, it all fit. When his results come back: omega, he loses his scholarships, his life plan, and his identity. Unable to change himself to meet society’s expectations of an omega, he finds himself lost at sea.

Naheed has seen the dark side of being an alpha, both in his own life as well as in his work at an omega shelter. He can’t imagine finding an omega he can trust to not be intimidated by him. He can’t imagine learning to trust himself again.

Sparks fly at first sight, and even though they fight it, both men are drawn together by an attraction they find they can’t resist. Each man needs someone to accept him for who he is. Can they find that in each other?

*** Terrific tale of very different Alpha and his Omega. Refreshing and fun !
Omega Jace worked at Café Om. His world turned upside-down when his testing revealed he was an Omegas. He'd felt and grown up like an Alpha, strong and controlling. So, he's not going to be a "normal" Omega.

Naheed is an Alpha, born and raised by two Omega Dads. So he felt parts of himself were different than "normal" Alphas. He's handsome, built, tall, and blue-eyed, and when Jace scented him - he knew ! Naheed also knew immediately that Jace was his true mate. Their first date advanced quickly because of nature's pull.
At the Omega shelter, Naheed was nurturing and in charge. Jace had his Omega tendencies bloom since finding Naheed. Trevor is a young Omega at the shelter who has bonded with Naheed and Jace felt that same closeness. Our men are super sexy and surprising in bed !

This is a well written , even flowing tale that has interesting characters you'll like. It is low angst and we get a plot that holds our attention and hearts.
ENJOY !

This was different. The fact that all his life Jace grew up thinking he was an Alpha until they did the tests and found out he was biologically an Omega. That was surprising. I thought he'd know by then but I guess until going into heat they just wouldn't really know.

I’ve read this author before. This is a book set in the mpreg world. Main characters are Naheed and Jace. Not your usual alpha and omega. I’ll read more from this series and author.

Cute story :)

Who does not like reading about Instalove every once in a while? This was a really short read with sweet MC's. My only complaints are: Needs editing and more attention to the storyline. Would have been nice to know more about and what happens to his coworker, Marcus. Since Jace leaves and basically never comes back to the coffee shop.

I can tell you why I read this book with 14 words..."two hot guys with beards, extra hot time in jacuzzis, and an unexpected heat." I don't care what else the blurb had to say. This did it for me. It was an auto-click.

Now why did I love it? I can do that in 4 words...Naheed, Jace, Baby and TREVOR. I fell head over heels for these characters and that little kid. I wanted to snatch him right out of the book and take him home with me.

I do agree that there were too many errors in this short book. Just needs some extra proofreading but the story is great!

Masculine Omega

Not what I expected. When you read so many books sometimes you get a little jaded. This is the story to bring you out of the doldrums. It is full of surprises for the very beginning. This is the story of both an unconventional Omega and Alpha. How would you feel if you spent your life looking like, thinking like, & feeling like an Alpha only to be tested to in fact be an Omega? How do you cope when those feelings don't go away despite the test result? This is a really hard for the Omega, what Alpha would really want someone like him? How could he be with an Alpha when there obviously would be a lot of conflicts and misunderstandings? Jace was not someone to back down. He was strong willed despite his identification.

Naheed was devoting his life to abused, traumatized, and homeless Omegas working at a well known and respected Omega Rescue Center. Despite years of daily interacting with Omegas all he felt was sympathy. He'd even been raised by two Omega fathers. No one could've been more surprised than Naheed when the spicy scent of a certain atypical Omega catches his attention. An Omega so different from the many he'd encountered and helped he couldn't believe it. It made the delicious smelling man that much more intriguing. This wouldn't be a traditional mating/bonding. Neither were traditional men but their very strong mutual attraction had lit a fire inside each that burned hotter and hotter. There was going to be spontaneous combustion if they didn't do something about it.

I really enjoyed this first book in the Cafe Om series. This was my first story by Harper B. Cole but it will most certainly not be my last. She has a few series out and if they are half as good as the start of this one I can't wait to dive right in. If you enjoy reading stories about Omegas as second class citizens, mpregancy, sweet little boys, people fighting for a good cause, and a couple that set the sheets on fire, so luckily there's a Jacuzzi to cool them off you should really like this story. I will be reading Book 2 tomorrow.

Ok story but bad vocab

The story was ok. But the vocab was a bit off. For instance, I think the sentence was supposed to be "I resent that..." but the author kept using "I resemble that..." which makes no sense. There were other words too which perhaps sounded right to the author but was not spelled correctly or not used in the right context. I'm just wondering if the author is not a native English speaker?

3.5 🌟rounded up

This is a sweet little fluff romance. The romance comes almost too easy, but in the world of fluff, I suppose that is to be expected.

Jace has grown up believing that he is an Alpha. His parents, teachers, and everyone else have been preparing him for the future of an Alpha. So, when he learns that he is in fact an Omega, he is understandably upset. However, he eventually makes peace with it, but he knows he will never find an Alpha who is willing to accept him for who he truly is inside.

Naheed is an Alpha who was raised by two Omegas. When he comes of age, he searches for his biological father to learn about being a real Alpha. Unfortunately, the man is an alphahole, and for a while, Naheed takes his teachings to heart. However, he learned from his mistakes, and now plays a huge role in running a shelter for abused and neglected omegas.

I mentioned that I felt that the romance came a bit too easily, but it was still endearing. I suppose if you are a true believer in the myth that all fated mates are made perfectly for one another, this is the perfect romance. And, with as short as the book is, it made everything else going on flow a lot more smoothly. I guess I'm just more of a "progressive thinker," in that I believe fated mates are meant for each other, but that doesn't mean they change their personalities overnight to be a perfect couple immediately.

Overall, the story was short and sweet. It does have some serious moments, but they are kind of glossed over. But, if you are looking for a light, quick HEA, this book fits the bill.

* I received an ARC of this book. *

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first story in the Cafe Om series. In this book, Jace is an omega who looks like an alpha. Jace works at the cafe and one day an alpha comes in and sends Jace into a tizzy. Naheed is an alpha and the brother-in-law of the cafe owner. When Naheed sees Jace, he knows he is supposed to be his. Jace flees into the alley to hide from Naheed, he always thought he didn't want or need an alpha to take care of him. When the cafe owner sends Jace to see Naheed at an omega shelter to deliver a letter, Jace is confused as to why he is there. Naheed runs the shelter and hopes he can make up for his past behaviour against omegas and when he sees Jace, he knows he has to get the omega to agree to be with him. Jace agrees to dinner with Naheed and is surprised Naheed isn't like the typical alpha and might just be what he needs in an alpha and Jace might just be when Naheed needs in an omega. I liked this story. I like how they both accepted each other and the fact they were not typical of their roles. I think Naheed was a great guy and Jace knew he would be good with him. Good one.

Harper B. Cole's Embracing His Omega is the first book in The Cafe Om Love series. This is a re-release that offers new content and reediting. It's a sweet and sexy non-white mpreg that will leave you satisfied and excited for the next book in the series.

Jace is not your typical Omega...in fact, up until he is tested as an omega everyone was sure he was an Alpha. And as a non traditional omega, he deserves the non traditional Alpha like Naheed. Naheed is caring and works to help omegas in need. And together they seem to find a complimentary partner in each other. I absolutely loved them together.

The story offered entertainment and had me feeling good. Some humor, some sweet moments, a dash of drama and lots of steam and lots to love about this story. I can not wait for book two.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

I really enjoyed reading this unusual yet intriguing Mpreg omegaverse romance. The characters are interesting, and quite realistic with their emotions & expectation. I found the story-line and plot fascinating, it definitely kept my attention
There is: a young man was under the impression that he was an alpha & discovers to his dismay that he is an omega which destroyed all his hopes & dreams (Jace), his caring & understanding boss (Abrar), an alpha raised by two omega fathers discovers that Jace is his fated mate (Naheed), a omega shelter, a previously abused young omega residing there (Trevor), mild twists, drama, some humor, expectations, discovery, dismay, confusion, attractions, fated mates, verbal banter, distraction, longings, a dinner date, flirtations, realization, unexpected heat, a welcomed surprise, declaration, happiness, love, steamy scenes & a wonderful satisfying happy epilogue.

This is a fun, low-angst, and rather quick read set in the Cafe Om omegaverse. Jace always believed he was an alpha. When tested before entering college, he realizes he's actually an omega. He no longer can take advantage of college scholarships and a business track. Instead, he works as a shift supervisor at Cafe Om, where his boss treats omegas as equal members of society. Naheed is an alpha, raised by two omega mothers in a rare parental combination. He works as a fundraiser at a center for abused omegas. When he enters the Cafe Om, Jace and he scent each other and realize they are mates. How will they work out their differing backgrounds to form a loving partnership? I liked this book because it addresses societal issues that can occur when one class of citizen is treated as less than the others. Although at times it deals with painful issues, the overall tone is healing, supporting, and loving. I look forward to reading more of the series.

Embracing His Omega

This would have been a 5 star review if not for the many, simple, editing errors that existed. I normally think that I'm fairly forgiving of the occasional error, but there were so many errors in this book, so often, that it was very distracting. And the worst part is that they were all things that a simple proofreading should have picked up.

I loved this story where Jace could be omega without fitting into the stereotype of what was expected from a omega. He had expectations that his personality made him an alpha, and when he found out that he wasn't, it shook the foundations of his self identity. But I loved that he didn't choose to hide himself in some facade of what he figured he should be, as an omega.

So I quite enjoyed this book. The characters were fun and interesting. In fact I couldn't wait to read the rest of the series. Then I discovered that there seems to be no crossover with the rest of the "series." Why create Likeable characters in interesting situations only to abandon them? I prefer a series where you get cameos from your favorite characters from previous books. I like the stories to be related and perhaps have an common thread or goal. The omega shelter and omega rights would be a great project to further little by little in each book.
Since the rest of the series abandons the characters and problems of this book I will abandon the series in favor of one of the many series out there which ties its books together. Without the tie in I'm just not interested.

Rating 3.5 This was a very sweet story with zero angst--there actually wasn't even any problems/issues at all in the romance. It was just the story of how an unconventional omega and a caring alpha realize that they are fated mates and start a family. There is a lot of sex (good quality sex scenes) but it doesn't feel like just erotica. There is a lot of tenderness and connection between the two men. Despite the buildup about Jace's un-omega-like looks and attitudes, it is pretty much swept aside in the rush of love, so don't be expecting a lot of angsting over that. This was a good start to what is a loosely connected series (I've read the first three already.) They are all sweet and sexy. This is a good comfort/feel good read and is also a quick read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This author is new to me and I was eager to read their take on omergaverse. The first thing I noticed is how well the author was able to give us such a compelling story while teaching us about this complex and intriguing world she created. Naheed and Jace aren’t you’re typical alpha and omega. Plus there are a lot of things about their world that they want to change. I can’t wait to see where the author takes this. Plus, I’d love to know what happened to Miles. That’s why I gave this only four stars. Seemed to me that if we see him at such a devastating time we should know what he’s up to now or at least know why Jace doesn’t mention him again.

This is the first book in the Cafe Om series , that is set in an A/B/O world.
Jace is shocked he presented as an Omega as all his attitude, aptitude and personality all pointed to him being an Alpha, his life changed and all goals he had for the future disappeared and he feels unmoored and broken. Naheed is an Alpha who works at a shelter for Omegas. who has seen the ugly side of their society and he can’t believe that he will find an Omega that won’t be intimidated by him when he doesn’t trust himself. When these two characters meet a whole lot of sparks and a sense of rightness unfolds, making this a wonderful story to read where your designation doesn’t define who you are, or how you live your life. I can’t wait to read more from this series.

Sweet

What do you mean, my designation is Omega?! This is a question Jace has asked since his designation test three years prior. To say he isn't a typical omega is an understatement! When he and Naheed meet, it is obvious they are meant for each other. As the brother-in-law of Jace's boss as well as the financial officer of the Omega House, Naheed came to Cafe Om for a donation. What he finds is so much more. Read along to find out how Jace reconciles his need for control everywhere with the needs of his inner omega. You will also find out how far an alpha will go to make his mate comfortable and feel cherished as he is. I also loved the chapter given exclusively to the young omega boy that was a resident of the Omega House that cured the couples heart.

A very satisfying introduction to Cafe Om. Poor Jace has a body that says he's an alpha but biology says he's an omega. Jace has resigned himself to being single, no alpha wants a guy like him. Naheed's life is about Omega house and helping serve omegas in need. He knows that Jace is his mate but leaves every choice about their relationship to Jace. They are equal partners in all things. I liked that Jace was finally willing to embrace parts of his omega nature without giving up who he was. Naheed's love for Jace and little Trevor was beautiful. Seeing them come together as a family left me with a smile.

This is a brilliant fun loving book about Jace who found out that he was actually an omega, so his life goals changed and he meets Naheed at his workplace. They are both shocked that they like each other but nothing happens as Jace goes to the stock take out back. But when his boss asks him to deliver a parcel to his brother in law it turns out to be Naheed and they decide they will go out for dinner. They have to deal with an unplanned pregnancy and an instant family when they adopt a couple of kids from the shelter were Naheed works.
I received an ARC of this book and have voluntarily left a review.

Jace and Naheed

Omega Jace, with strong alpha tendencies, works at Cafe Om in a lead role as barista. His boss's brother-in-law Naheed works at Omega House, a shelter for displaced omegas. Fated mates, the relationship blooms immediately and a night of passion results in pregnancy. Although a Cafe Om series book, not much occurs there. The book isn't overly long, but Cole paints these MCs with historic flashbacks where the "typical " alpha and Omega roles twist. A complete tale, it has all the feel-good's and warm-happy scenes without the romance angst. A very satisfying read.

I found this book to be okay, nothing really spectacular. I kept putting it down and that is never a good sign. I just didn't really connect with it. Other than the unique testing that they do to determine Alpha/Omega status, this book didn't really bring anything new to the table. Yes, it was nice to get an omega that wasn't the usual small timid character, but that wasn't really enough to keep my interest.

There wasn't anything bad about this book. It just wasn't anything special.

This was a sweet and sexy story about an Alpha and Omega who neither fit the “typical” description on what and Alpha and Omega should be.

Jace was raised to be an Alpha until he tested as an Omega. Even after he tested Omega he still felt more and looked more like an Alpha.

Naheed was raised by two Omegas understanding the caring and gentle parts of how Omegas are. Only getting a small glimpse of what a “Alpha” should be by his jerk of a donor father.

I liked how the two just fit. They worked really well together and understood one another from the very start.
