Evie doesn't believe in vampires, or ghosts, goblins or ghoulies; they belong in the fairy tales at the library where she works. So when she unwittingly opens a mysterious old book written in an unknown language with strange hand-drawn pictures, she never could have believed the unearthly evil lurking inside, and the chaos she would release just by opening it. She must now join forces with an unlikely saviour to stop the end of the world, but is he all he seems and can she really trust him?

I won this book on goodreads (kindle version) for an honest review.
I really wanted to like this book a bit more than it turned out I did. The writing was a bit rough. It seemed more of a rough draft than a finished product. I was disappointed in the characters and the scenery was lacking. I don't like giving reviews like this. However, I need to be honest and as I really like this genre and wanted to like this book because the premise sounded so promising. I just really felt there could have been a bit more time building a better finished product.
