I like this cover. It's a great representation of the hero. Has good composition. Interesting typography. I probably would have nudged the title up a smidge, but overall a great cover.
HOLY SHIT...I LOVED this one. L-O-V-E-D it! This was on the shorter side for book pages, but man did these authors pack a lot of stuff into those pages. Usually, I finish a novella wishing that book had been longer because I felt the characters and plot could have used more fleshing out. I finished this one wishing it was longer as well but not because I felt more fleshing out was needed but because I was enjoying the f@ck out of the story so much. I am super excited that this is going to be a series.
So deets...this was insta-love at it's finest. The hero was alpha. The heroine was extremely likable. No pushing away. No OW/OM drama. No angst. The sex scenes were SMOKIN'. The family dynamite was excellent. I CANNOT wait for the books featuring the other brothers as well. Six months later epilogue but since the overall story will carry through all the brother's books (I assume), I didn't feel like I needed to see a further into the future look at this couple. I am sure we will see much more of them in upcoming books. Two HUGE thumbs up from yours truly.

2.5 Didn't Do It For Me Stars
Unpopular opinion alert!!!
This was an okay read for me the characters were good but lacked development, the plot ideas were good I just don't think it came together that well. For me it read more like a quick smut and I was hoping for more of a dark, suspense filled read.
When Aston and Kadence meet it is insta/lust/love/possessiveness and I will admit that the scenes these two have are hot.
I would have loved more of the 'Locke brothers' doing their thing, seeking out revenge on behalf of innocent people who have been wronged.
I think it was a mixture of me having high expectations and of little things just not working for me that ruined it. So ending this ridiculously muddled review, I can't say I hated it nor can I say I really like it. It just left me:

I’ve been a huge raving mad fan of Victoria Ashley’s when I first discovered her series (Walk of Shame) and admittedly I’ve not read anything by ( Jenika Snow ) but fuck me side ways this book co written by these two was epicly un-put-downable!! It is a short read but these two have packed a punch in what they have written. It's wetted my appetite just enough to keep me invested in wanting to read the rest of the books coming after this hot little number. So now we just need to push them back into their writers caves to give us the rest!!
DAMAGED LOCKE: Everyone’s heard the rumours in town about the Locke brothers, fuck with one brother and you fuck with the rest, one more sadistic than the other. Each with their own tool for punishment.
So what's better than one hot bad boy tatted up male?? A family of hot bad boys is what!! Meet the Locke brothers (Aston his brothers Ace and Sterling).
One night whilst they are beating down a few undesirables a raven haired beauty Kadence sees one of the Locke brothers from across the street from her house that catches her eye. He may be covered in blood and gore on his knuckles but there's something about him that calls to a part of her. Yes she's heard all the rumors about this notorious family and maybe that's what appeals to her the most. And she can't help wanting to learn more about this one in particular.
The youngest Locke might look like a beautiful blond angel, but I can assure you he's as sinful and dangerous as they come.
Aston Locke the youngest Locke noticed her too that night, when their gazes locked he also felt that pull on all his senses.
She's just as curious about me as I am about her. Maybe I'll feed her curiosity and give her a small taste of the youngest Locke.
This had me glued to the pages, his need to claim what was his, his want to show the world that she was his, this Locke brother knows no boundaries when it comes to showing a woman who is in control of her, who owns her.
Definitely can't wait for the next book!!

Well the one negative thing I can say about this is I wanted more! This was awesome! Aston just took what was his. End of story and Kadence didn't fight it. I can't wait for the other brothers to find their one. But we have to wait dammit!

UNPOPULAR OPINION AND RANT AHEAD!
My summarization of Damaged Locke (actual excerpts taken from the novella):
Aston telling us how fuckin’ badass he is.
Aston: “Some might believe we’re the spawns of the fucking devil. A blond-haired, blue-eyed evil son of a bitch to be feared. That’s what everyone sees when they look at me. I can’t say I’ve done much to prove them otherwise.”
Total badass – not.
Kadence’s friend, Melissa, warning her against Aston.
Melissa: “They are dangerous, Kadence. Everyone in this town knows it.”
Kadence: “You don’t think warning me to stay away is going to make me curious? I’ve waited two months to get a glimpse of these brothers you’re always going on about. I couldn’t force myself to turn away even if I wanted to, Mel. You should know me by now. “
(The same goes for my one year old son when I tell him not to eat the plants… )
Kadence, justifying her attraction to Aston even after seeing him with bloody knuckles after a brutal attack on a bunch of (deserving) lowlifes.
Kadence: “Have they ever killed anyone before? You never once told me they’re murderers… But has anyone ever been killed by them.... I’m sure it’s not just random violence.”

I absolutely loved this one. The H and h were both amazing and so dedicated to each other. No OW/OM crap. All drama is outside the relationship and brings them closer together. I can't wait for the rest of the Locke brothers stories.

They got together and stayed together. The epilogue was lacking but I hope we see more of them in the future.
I have my reservation about book two as it appears to be a second chance storyline. But I will definitely have an eye out for it.

The Locke brothers are ones that people normally avoid in their small town due to their dangerous reputation. One night while taking care of a job the youngest brother Aston see a young woman jogging to the house across from where he is. He is surprised when she looks at him with curiosity instead of fear and that makes her stick in his mind.
Kadence has been warned to stay away from the brothers by her BFF but that only makes her more curious about them and if the rumors are really true. She sees Aston and he makes her feel like she never felt before and won't let the warnings stop her from getting to know him. He may be dangerous but she feels safe with him and neither are willing to let each other go even when some blow back threatens them.
This was a really enjoyable read even though I also felt like it needed more for some reason. I don't know why since it was complete but I felt something missing even though I enjoyed it. The hero was not portrayed as a manho and the heroine was likable and had some good balance.

I am apparently in the minority on this book. While it was well written book, I just couldn't believe the insta-love and how the whole story plays out. My rating is purely based on the writing and nothing more because well, the whole story fell flat for me.
Quick breakdown without spoilers as to why this book didn't work for me. The insta-love and the lack of suspense is what hurt this book for me. It all happens within a week - A WEEK!!! Just no. And I had a hard time finding the dark portions of this book to be considered dark. Yes, they aren't nice men but I was expecting more ugliness. Or maybe I am just a twisted freak who loves really gory and gruesome scenes in order for it to be considered dark to me.
People have raved about reading this book in one sitting - um, yea I would hope so. It's short as hell!!! There is very little plot in this book, the darkness is seriously lacking and the sex wasn't that hot - just rough and dirty really.
If someone wants to dip their toes into "dark" then this book would work for you. It's nowhere near the dark and twisted that I have read in other books; it's very tame. I was expecting so much more from these two and well, I was left disappointed. Once the book is released, I will edit this review and leave a more detailed review that does contain some spoilers, but I will hide those as to not ruin the book for anyone.

This was ridiculously entertaining, I have to say...
Even though, I had some concieved perception of what to expect after reading book #3, this was also fast, maybe too fast for any deeper development, but then again, I dont really think that was the actuall purpose of this book in the first place...
So, putting all aside, book #1 is about the xoungest Locke brother of the three, Aston
"I'm Aston Locke, a mean motherfucker that you just let all up in your space.”
I think this quote sums it all up for you, as in figuting out what actually happens when he sees the one he wants...lol
Yes, he s right there in her face, claiming the shit out of her...
It's kinda funny too, okay more like grinning funny...even though, I get all 'roll eyes' mode while dealing with 'insta love' shit and all...lol

This book hooked me from page one! I loved the Locke brothers. They're a little rough around the edges, but that completely adds to their charm. I loved that the h kept an open mind when it came to her feelings for Aston. Both the H and h knew what they wanted and went for it no questions asked! I thoroughly enjoyed this pairing of Victoria Ashley and Jenika Snow. I can't wait to read about this next Locke brother.

I have NEVER.... NEVER!!!! EVERRR!!!! Wanted to be grabbed round the throat so much in my whole life!!! I mean ya know just... shiiiizzzzzzlllleeeeeee i think I'd let Aston do what the hell he wanted to me!! but that?!?!?! Jeeze i think i spent most of the sexy times de-steaming my glasses i mean... DAMN!!! That man!!!! Those lips that were made for biting!!! YES!!!!! nibble nibble tug tug yum yummy yum!!!!

I love me some Victoria Ashley boy does that woman know how to get the heat hitting super nova!!!! But i had never read Jenika so i was interested to see what this threw up!
It's kinda dark... i love dark!!! Based on three brothers Aston, Sterling and Ace. The whole town is scared of them. Wherever they are there's trouble. But all is not as it seems. The brothers tend to stick to themselves only venturing out when they need to.
On one occasion Aston see's Kadence watching him. He can't take his eyes off her.
Kadence is intrigued by Aston. Her best friend has warned her away from the Locke's but something draws her to him. She knows what it's like being on the outside and she wants to find out what their secrets are.
This is a short story but packed full!!! I'm really excited for this series!!
I loved Kadence. I loved how she knew what she wanted and although afraid she did it anyway. Aston wasn't sweet n soft he went in hard and fast and to most that would be scary especially knowing his reputation but she knew there was something more there and pushed through the fear to embrace it!.
Aston wellllll i just found a great big wonderful fantasy right there!!! I'm actually stalking the cover model a little.. ok well maybe a lot... lol That vision though.....Aston's hard and rough... yes wink wink* HARD and ROUGH! I *F word* loved him!!! OMG Slam me up a door and let me bite his lip!!! siggghhhhh***
The chemistry between them is off the Richter scale!!! They both claim each other. Obviously Aston is more Alpha about it but Kadence claims him too!
The supporting cast of his brothers has me biting my nails in anticipation of their books!!! I love their relationship. Typical brothers roughing each other up and joking around made me smile even though they've been through a rubbish time they have each other.
It feels like they each have a different side to the same story and i can't wait to get the full picture.
I also really liked her best friend Melissa. Please let her catch a Locke!!! She needs loosening up a little!!
The writing and pace was perfect. I picked it up... didn't put it down!! I think the length was just right. No over dramatizing. No pointless chatting and plot filling. Straight in BOOM! Hammers, Knives and PadLOCKE's!!
Highly recommend to all!!! Waiting, waiting, waiting for book 2!!! Now... off to find Jenika books!!

Aston Locke and his brothers were to be feared, but not in the way you would think. Sure, they will make your life a living hell, but it's not just for the fun of it.
Kandence was warned to stay away from the Locke brothers, but that's easier said than done when it come to Aston Locke.
This story was short and hot!! the chemistry was off the charts and the story line was great. Just when I think I'm tired of alpha males Aston Locke shows up and says to me, "you ain't seen nothing yet." and I'm like YES!!! Seriously he was hot and dominating and I loved him.

VICTORIA ASHLEY is my "read everything author" and I've currently read almost everything by Jenika Snow. I LOVE BOTH. SO CO-WRITE a book together? YES, PLEASE!

When any book is co-written, you always wonder if it will flow as nicely as if it were singularly written, or will you be able to tell there are two different writing styles. Victoria Ashley and Jenika Snow are both authors I have read before. Since I liked both authors, I wasn't concerned in the least. I actually loved this book. The writing was smooth and steady paced. Since this book was short, I read it quickly. In fact, I devoured it and can't wait for Sterling and Ash's books next.
Damaged Locke is NOT a sugary sweet romance. There is a dark element to the Locke brothers. But when you learn the truth about why they are the way they are, you just can't help but to love and admire them.
Aston Locke has darkness inside of him in which he has lived with for years. His lifestyle is violence, causing fear among those that would even think of causing trouble with him and his brothers. Aston is not afraid to cross the boundaries of illegal and he is definitely not to be messed with. In a way I would call him a vigilante. But still, don't ever cross the Locke brothers!
Kadence is not a violent person. That said, she is not afraid to fight for herself or for those she cares about. I liked her character a lot; she was not only brave but loyal and independent.
When Aston and Kadence first set eyes on each other, there is an instant connection. One that literally pulls them together. Once they are together; there is no pulling them apart. Kadence is Aston's 'happy' place. Her relationship with him was his light in the usual darkness he existed in. Aston realizes very quickly that he needed Kadence in his life, by his side. Even before he claimed her as his own, he was protective AND possessive with Kadence.
This story moves pretty fast. We get to know Aston's two older brothers, Ace and Sterling as well as Kadence's best friend Melissa. These secondary characters were witty and likable. Despite how gruff, mean and violent the Locke brothers were, I loved them. Even Melissa has a protective side despite her fears of the brothers. I really admired her for that. And despite the violence in this book, there was humor too.
Aside from some violence, there is a bit of suspense and drama in this book. I have to say that for such a short book, Damaged Locke has a lot going on. I am so excited to read the next book in the Locke Brothers series which will feature Sterling.

A raw, gritty story that will make you want to run for the hills because when a Locke comes knocking you go running! The Locke brothers are dangerous, mysterious and destructive but you can't help to get drawn in and want to know more. Aston is the youngest Locke brother and has had his fair share of damage and turmoil. Then one destructive night Kadence the bada** that she is gets entrigued and sets her sights on Aston. She knows it's dangerous to get close to a Locke but that doesn’t stop her. You can't judge a Locke by their name because they are so much more than most people in their town think they are. They are caring, loyal, protective and family orientated yet you don't want to cross them. The have a strong bond with each other that's indestructible. Aston is just so hot and dark. Everyone has there own story and what makes them tick and act the way they do and Aston’s reason is so heart breaking. You'll eagerly go through the story wanting to pull back the layers of Aston's complex life. I'm glad that he has the support of his brothers because he'd be screwed without them holding him together and getting him to where he is. I'm so excited for everyone to read this book. Victoria and Jenika are bringing us a new set of book boyfriends that we will no don't fall in love with one by one. I already have and it's only the first book. I can't wait for what is to come from this series because what they created is special and pure magic. Well done ladies you sure knew how to bring us a story that is different and consuming. I'm hooked! Bring on the rest of the Lockes! I... NEED... MORE... NOW!!!!

Aston and Kadence.....smoking hot, as in burning up my kindle hot. These 2 have so much chemistry, they can probably lend other couples some.....as in they have some to spare *winks*. Loved this book. Aston and his brothers handle the justice for abused women in their town. Yes, they get a fee or are hired, but it seems to me they are worth every penny. And someone should stick up for these women. When Kadence first sees him, she can't take her eyes off him, like I said smoking hot. Even though she knows...or heard that he's bad news, she doesn't care. She wants him and he wants her. When these two get together, whew you will need a cold shower afterwards....or you know whatever you need to get through:).
Such a great storyline, two people just trying to find love and acceptance where there never is any. The whole town is afraid of Aston and his brothers, their whole childhood was not one of roses. But they still manage to help and save innocent people. These brothers are kick ass in my opinion, I'm a huge fan. Kadence too had to deal with a lot from the little town where she grew up and the backlash of her mom struggling with her mental instability. I love that these two found each other and are very much in sync.
They both don't try to stay away from each other, they just jump right in. Aston is definitely an alpha and makes no apologies for who he is. I love this about him. Kadence is the same and she is one of my favorite female characters. Tough as nails, but soft for Aston. And he is the same for her.....these two are relationship goals all the way. Dibs on Aston.

WOW WOW WOWZA!! This is one hot read! This is a brand new series by Victoria Ashley and Jenika Snow. Aston and Kadence generate some steamy and smoky chemistry together!
The Locke brothers are pretty dangerous and you don’t want them in your business, especially if you are a bad guy for they will mess you up. You don’t know much about them for they are mysterious. The more I read, the more I wanted to know about the Locke Brothers.
Aston is the youngest Locke brother who is just as alpha as his older brothers and his past is as dark as his older brothers. He spots Kadence one night, after he and his brothers dealt with some "issues" and that moment is something that he will never forget. He wonders about this girl and what she could do to them yet Kadence is a sweet and lovely girl who is very independent. Ashton immediately feels this connection and falls head over heels for her. Kadence feels this strong pull toward Ashton and this really starts their pull towards one another.
There is a great story that deals with angst, passion, danger, drama along with steamy affection, love and joy. I cannot wait the next brother’s story.

Whew! That was intense and HOT all rolled into one. Meet the Locke Brothers in this new series co-written by two good authors. We meet Aston, his brothers Ace and Sterling. They are known as the bad family in town. Are the rumors true about these brothers or is there a side the town doesn’t see and they should? Oh, they are bad, but that Alpha side will show us an insight to quite a few things and just how protective they truly are. Kadence knows that she should stay away from the Locke Brothers, but there is something about Aston that doesn’t have her fearing for her life even if there are blood on his hands. From the moment Aston sees her he is claiming her whether she knows it or not. Wowzer!! You will be glued to this story from beginning to end. You might just be fanning yourself throughout the story as well.
There are no boundaries when it comes to the Locke Brothers and we get a glimpse into the future of what we can look forward to in the series. So, hold onto to your throat and nibble those lips until the next Locke Brothers story is released. Aston may be hot and dominating, but I can only imagine the fun and hell we will see with the next Alpha bad boy. If you love raw, gritty and intense dangerous men who set you on fire this series is for you; if not you don’t know what you are missing out on. Haha.

Holy wow .. what a great story. Amazing author collaboration.
Aston and Kadence -- a meeting by chance -- potentially the wrong place at the wrong time or would you consider it the right place at the right time. More all consuming though is the bond between brothers. In this release you meet them all and there are some cliff hangers in this release to keep you turning the pages. Damaged -- hurt -- torn and pain. The storyline pulls you in from the first page and keeps you hoping and wanting.
There is a ton of goodness packed with a punch into this book. You wont want to miss Aston and Kadence and you certainly wont want to miss out on the next releases. Ace and Sterling -- What I can tell you is that their parents are no longer alive. They are stuck together like glue all fighting their own battles.
Short and worthy read. Take it to the beach or the lake with you -- close yourself off -- whatever you do and whenever you can shut the world out and read this one. Thank you for the ARC!
