The Billionaire Werewolf's Witch

Rate this book
Rachel Riordan is not a lawyer. Not even on TV. She's a secretary, and not a very good one at that. But when billionaire Grant Hemming, President of Hemming Industries, asks her to look over a contract, she does as she's told. Since, in addition to signing her paychecks, he's superhot.

In between reading clauses and sharing kisses, several things come to light:

She's a witch. (They happen to be hated by the werewolves.)
He's a werewolf. (Remember, they hate the witches.)
They're mates. (Talk about awkward.)

And, oh, vampires want them both dead. Isn't that just like them?

This fluffy bit of shifter fun suffers from a lack of setup or logic. The number of coincidences needed to make the plot work stretches even my ability to suspend disbelief ...and I’m like Playdoh, people. Putting that aside, I still enjoyed myself because there’s just something about Ms. Kyle’s humor that keeps me coming back for more. This isn’t her best (I still reserve that for her Grayslake series), but if you need a quick shifter fix, you may enjoy this.

This was apparently first released under the title Wicked Wolf, Wanton Witch and as far as I'm aware has not been expanded in any way so if you've read that story then obviously there's no need to buy this . So having got that out of the way what did I think?
Well I'm not particularly a fan of shorter reads but do enjoy this authors usually over the top and often pantry wetting humour so was prepared to give this paranormal story a go. I really liked it and thinking about it even though it's not particularly a humourous story the two main characters really grabbed me. Who wouldn't fall for Grant as he's protective yes but prepared to go to any lengths when it comes to Rachel and truly would take on the world for her. Rachel has that slight ditsy personality that could irritate but somehow doesn't . I think because the author gives us reasons for her behaviour it made her likeable.
What was different here was the interactions between the various supernaturals in the story. Wolves and Vampires and somehow caught between are the Witches and in this book not all Witches are equal. I would have liked to know more about Rachel's family but it's a short book so I'm not too disappointed that it all comes back to this couple.
A copy of this book was provided for me with no requirement to review. I voluntarily read this and my thoughts and comments are my own honest opinion

These Howl's Romance books are really hit or miss. Either the beginning grabs me or it absolutely repels me.

This one starts out with the most inept secretary bitching about how fat she is, so no thank you.

Loved the humour, but would of liked a little more to the ending.

And I would've liked to learn a little more about the Watchers.

Grant and Rachel were good together.

Fun read

I enjoyed this book. I only wish for more of it. The plot here was one of the better ones I’ve read recently, I just wish it baddest ended so soon.

In this story we are introduced to an alpha werewolf and a contract with the vampires. We soon find out and ordinary woman at his business, who turns out to be his mate, is also a witch. We get some great action with fighting vampires and lovely, chemistry between the two main characters.

Hopefully there will be more to this story.

I love Celia Kyle and thoroughly enjoyed this novella. While this is a short story, all the elements important to me were included. There was an unexpected romance, a conflict, character development, and a happily ever after.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

**This title was previously published as Wicked Wolf, Wanton Witch. – if you read that book, you’ve read this one** I had fun with this one – and that’s exactly what the Howls Romance line delivers. Entertaining, relatively quick reads with that paranormal touch.

Grant is the Alpha of his pack and the contract for staying on their land is about up and the century old agreement between the vampires and the wolves needs to be signed for another century. Yet, there’s something off about this contract. The fear radiating off of the human lawyers in the room is an almost physical thing. So Grant storms out with said contract in hand promising to review it and get back to the vampires.. not the lawyers the next day. Now he needs a lawyer of his own, someone who has no vested interest in the outcome and can read all of this legal jargon. His right hand man heads to the secretary pool area and grabs the only remaining person there… Rachel. A pre-law dropout, temporary secretary – oh, and unknown to anyone a much hated by the wolves witch. Yeah, this is going to be a bit complicated.

The Billionaire Werewolf’s Witch has some wonderful snarky, funny banter between Grant and Rachel. Some definitely hot sexy vibes between this witch and her wolf shifter mate. And enough drama to fulfill any drama queen’s wet dreams. Grant realizes that Rachel is his mate immediately, and he knows far more than she realizes about other things as well. Over after hours food and a marathon contract reading they bond, learn a bit about each other’s backgrounds and basically declare war on the vamps for the double cross they’re trying to maneuver with this contract. Grant will not allow anything to harm Rachel or get in the way of their mate bond – not Rachel herself, the vampires or his own pack. He is one determined, stubborn and sexy mate.

I really enjoyed this one. It’s full of drama, banter, sexiness and a couple meant for each other. I’d definitely recommend this one for any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. It’s simply a fun adventure.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

This is an OK shifter romance, but it was a bit too short to have enough character development. I would have also liked if it had an epilogue a few months (or even years) into their future. It gets 3 stars from me.

Grant and Rachel are mostly likable, but I wanted them to talk a little more. Rachel was afraid to tell him who she really was, since she knew that werewolves hated witches. And Grant didn't tell her that she was his mate (or what that meant) until almost the very end of the story.

Their romance was a little too rushed for me. They barely knew each other, but they fall in love in only a couple of days? I get that shifters love their mates immediately -- but Rachel wasn't a shifter, and wouldn't have felt that instant connection. She might have lusted after him, but she wouldn't have fallen in love with him so quickly.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Rachel isn’t quite sure how she was drafted into reviewing a legal document. She is a lawyer but when her late work night nets her the attention of Grant’s sentinel, she isn’t able to say no. But being in close proximity of the Alpha may make it impossible to hide that an enemy is hiding right under his nose.
The Billionaire Werewolf’s Witch by Celia Kyle is part of the Howls Romance series and does not need to be read in chronological order. Grant is determined to protect his pack. He knows something isn’t quite right and before he puts his signature on the dotted line he will know what he is agreeing to. I normally adore whatever Ms. Kyle writes but I must admit I struggled with this story. Not because it was poorly written. Not because the characters were poorly developed. Not even because it was a quick read. It was because it made absolutely no sense to me. I mean Grant owns a billion dollar corporation and he doesn’t have trusted pack attorneys on retainer or even in house. His pack would at least have educated members who could protect pack interests, right? He trusts an individual with no legal experience to review a contract…really? I just couldn’t look past the utter ridiculousness of having a college drop-out catch inconsistencies in a document that affected not only your business but also your pack. Once you look past, for me, a major plot hole, Ms. Kyle gave us believable chemistry between Grant and Rachel. I loved that Grant didn’t care that Rachel was more than a size 2. I wanted Grant to convince Rachel to give him a chance and thoroughly enjoyed his effort.

Now You See Me, Now You Don't!

This was a short, but very enjoyable story. It's a time when wolfs don't like witches and more so Watchers. They watch and record all that transpires in the Paranormal world from contracts to bad deeds, they've been doing it for centuries.

Rachel Riordan is a BBW that is trying to live inconspicuously after the death of her parents who were Watchers at the hands of vampires. She tells no one of her watch status, much less that she is a Watcher. She works as secretary at the very prestigious Hemming Industries, unaware that the president of the company is an Alpha Werewolf. Until she is called upon to check over a contract between the Pack and Vampires. When she sees her boss sparks start to shoot in her, but the handsome billionaire would never take notice of a mere BBW secretary, would he?

Grant Hemming, President of Hemming Industries and Alpha of his pack is very suspicious of the contract that has been drawn up by the lawyers and has his Sentinal find a lawyer to look it over, but when he walks in with Rachel a dropout Pre-Law student, his wolf threatens to come out. She is his mate and to hell with the wolfs that condemn Witches and Watchers, they will accept her, or leave. She will become his mate despite old beliefs. The Vampires want the Watcher, have been searching for her, now they will have to go through the Alpha to get his mate if they can see her long enough that is.

This was a fast, but very enjoyable story and I hope to read more about Grant and Rachel and how she is accepted by the Pack in the future.

This was another fun read by Celia Kyle, I enjoy her sense of humor so most of her books work well for me. This story was about a young witch/ secretary struggling to keep a roof over her aunts head and a billionaire wolf/alpha/business man. The two meet suddenly one night and bang insta mates- which Rachel of course fights. He needs her help discovering what the vamps have hidden behind legalese and she can't afford to say no and lose her job. The two get to know each other better while discovering what's up with the vamps and even tho witches and werewolfs are enemies true love prevails.
There is a lot of coincidences in this story and quite frankly yes it's unlikely it would happen in real life but I don't know to many billionaire werewolf - witch couples so I just presumed it was not supposed to resemble reality. If you are looking for realism and unlikely plots are not your thing then give this a miss, but if you can read a book and take it at face value then you will enjoy this light easy read.

“It’s a lifestyle. But why? Your doctor said you’re a perfectly healthy fat chick.”

My, what big teeth you have. Maybe he just had a twisted dentist. “Go.”
I immensely enjoyed this book. Had me laughing out loud at work.

I loved that Rachel was Ms Take No Shit. I was laughing out loud after the first fight where she's on Grant for calling her name over and over. What I would have liked more of, the backstory on her being a watcher and perhaps her finding her coven as I didn't like how Grant's pack reacted to her. As an African, as a Kenyan, that was a major insily to her...I wished there was a scene where she got to smack down on the pack to teach them some gratitude. She saved their asses and they thanked her horribly.

Grant was your typical OTT Alpha. I just loved how he flirted with Rachel and got her to accept herself.

I want to jump his bones and ride him like a donkey.

Lol, heshimu punda!

Loved it. Nice and short. Get it and enjoy it.

Who knew a secretary’s life could get so crazy? Rachel is just trying to make a living, hiding her secret witch heritage while working in the secretary pool for a famous billionaire. It would be just her luck that he turns out to be a paranormal that has been known to hunt her people down.

While ironing out a deal to renew the agreement between werewolves and witches, said billionaire knew something was wrong. His right hand man (and growly friend) drags in some help in the form of the only secretary still on premises. Rachel and Grant (the billionaire) end up with more than a simple work relationship, especially when his wolf informs him that she is his.

There’s bad guys and deception and ultimately some smutty dirty sexy times. Who doesn’t like that? As a quick read, it definitely delivers.

I really did like this book. I have enjoyed a lot of the Howls Romance books. This is about Rachel Riorden who is a secretary to Grant Hemming, President of Hemming Industries. Grant needs an outside opinion on a contract between the vampires and the werewolves. Rachel is asked to his office to look over the contract. What Grant doesn't know is that Rachel is a witch and werewolves and witches do not get along. The minute Grant sees Rachel, he knows she is his mate. Lots of action and passion in this book. Kept me reading all in one setting. Highly recommend.

This story is short, fast paced and action packed. I read this book in one sitting and wasn’t once bored. I really liked Rachel and Grant. The chemistry between them is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked that Rachel was able to help Grant and save his pack from the vampire’s plan to takeover. I liked that Grant didn’t back down. He knew Rachel was his mate and he didn’t back down to packs dislike about her being a witch.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a nice read.

Grant and Rachel

I truly enjoyed this book. It has everything I love: action, adventure, danger, passion and a red hot sexy alpha wolf. This book is a amazing page turner. We meet Grant as the Alpha of a wolf pack, that will go to the end of the world for his mate. The problem?! She is a witch!....so?! Well the problem is that all shifters hate witches. But Grant will fight anybody and everybody for his mate. And he will have to. He will have to fight even the people closest to him ! Highly recommended

Characters You'll Want More Of

The Billionaire Werewolf's Witch by Celia Kyle is a fantastic paranormal romance. The characters will draw you in from the start. I truly hope that Celina decides to turn this into a series. The main characters find their HEA but the other characters are being for their own stories. You know you've found a great story when you want to see how the sub characters lives expand in the future.

Why can't they just be straight up with stuff...

The beginning was good and the fight scenes need more details. What a combination of gifts that she can hopefully use and harness. Don't wolves knot during mating?
I think he should have marked her first then worried about the rest later...

The Billionaire's Werewolf's Witch

I loved that Grant didn't even waiver his attention from his mate, even when he discovered she was a witch. Rachel thought once Grant found out she was a witch he would kill her, but she was his mate and he would let nothing sat nd between them. He even fought challenges from his sentinels to be with her.

The Alpha and my pre-law college-dropout, witch, watcher and baby wolf. Mine. Your place is by my side.

Definitely a good read. What girl in there right mind wouldn’t won’t a girl to find a man that’s isn’t about body image. Werewolves vampires and a witch what could possibly go wrong 😉

When you wake up in the middle of the night, simply cannot go back to sleep, and give up after an hour, when you grab your Kindle and find something to read, something short and lighter with a guaranteed HEA sounds about right. And it was. Sure, I wouldn't have minded more details about the whole vamp/wolf/witch dynamic or a bit of a longer story, but it was still an enjoyable read.

Nice short, full of well written characters, steamy enough to burn off eyebrows book.
Yes it could of been more detailed and laid out more of a back story and world...but that's not what the aim of this book is about. It did the job, it told of a moment two people instantly became each others and learned through pressured circumstances to accept each other, witch, fur and all.

Need more action

I was lured in with the hate of the witches/watcher/werewolf. I stayed for the chance to she the things unfold. But I was short changed. There was lots of unseen action. The was much behind the scenes and told. I wanted more.

Ok.

This was good. Decent premise, but it lacked finality. It would have been nice to have an epilogue so you could see the packs acceptance or something.
As it was, it felt rushed and incomplete.

Great humour and romance

I love a fast paced story. This flowed very well with incredible humor and of course hot sex. I really wasn't expecting the humor mixed in with a great short story.
