I love Shakespeare and this series of books is awesome. It tells the story in a way that is easy to understand and without all the tricky old fashioned language.
Richard III is one of the plays that I didn't know much about. It is full of murder and he is not very nice but it is still a good story.

Richard III, by Andrew Matthews, is another Shakespearian novelisation and subsequent translation (from gobbledegook English to Modern English)with incongruously grim illustrations from Tony Ross. Again, I can't understand Shakespeare, so kids' adaptions are always welcome in my home. It has creepy undertones of villainy, death, and self-destruction, which always seems to be lurking in a William Shakespeare play. Richard III was a real king, yes, and he did have nephews, but don't take any of this discourteous villainy to heart; it's amazingly, so historically inaccurate!

This book was talk about a Duke called Richard, he want to be the king very much. And he tried to kill the king and he will be the king. Finally he succeed but he got killed later by his follower. i think this story was quite bloody and the name of all the characters were confuse me a lot.moreover this plot of this story was quite exciting.

3.5 stars, maybe....
I want to read more Shakespeare's but didn't know where to start so I bought the kids versions of his works. They are easy to understand and have some nice illustrations to look at, plus the covers are in my opinion so cute. Though I cannot decide if I liked Richard III or not, I may have read the original and find out then.

I do like these renditions of Shakespeare, this is just one of my least favourite ones. But I still swear by these especially for educational purposes! ✨

The villain in this story certainly was evil to the core! I loved how this story was told from within the grave 👏 and the beginning and end made us focus on that.

Ambition leads a man to plot against those around him, but things don't end well.

A good story, the illustrations were reasonable.

Reading time around 45 minutes (abridged version in modern English).

The story itself was really boring, however this book does exactly what I want it to do, introduce me to Shakespeare in a approachable way!! I highly recommend this series, but I just didn't like this one :)

The illustrations helped to bring the story to life. I do wish Andrew Matthews had gone into a bit more detail, as he does gloss over a lot, but for a quick overview of Richard III by Shakespeare it is a pretty decent.

Fast read for an adult with reading slump like me. It would be a great start for children to learn about Shakespeare’s Richard III. The vibe is a little bit amusing with the way Richard describes himself as a villany character.

It's good I like the story-line. But I didn't like the way its tolled in the past but correct me if it is in fact tolled in the past tense in the actual novel.

Well-done version of the Shakespeare classic in a form that middle schoolers/advanced elementary readers can enjoy. I enjoyed it myself.
