WELCOME! THE ISLAND OF PARANORMAL FREAKS, AWAITS YOU! May the Gods have mercy on your soul...
Werewolf Wild Child Taco Enthusiast. Drunk Table Dancing Expert. Queen of Shitty Relationships. Me. Kokoa Lovell. (Pronounced as cocoa)
I'm a honest-to-goodness, denial wearing- f*ck-up. My love life contains themes of extreme complication, washboard abs and mind-blowing romps in the sack. 'Commitment' is nowhere in my vocabulary, so I'm winning as well as losing in Cupid's department.
Uninterrupted peaceful, cocktail drunken nights is all a girl like me ever wants.
It's okay though. I swallow the crazy sh*t life is bringing in buckets because I really don't want to deal with what's important....
Like finally facing my scarier than split ends, great grandfather--the head honcho himself and why his decades long absence has come to an end in time for *my* birthday.
And wondering why I collected lust cards from *three* different guys. The next few days I face is sure to be a cluster--f*ck of epic proportions.
During which, I will learn the following:
It's cute to cuddle with a lion but dangerous when he's keeping secrets...
Flirting and making hubba-hubba eyes to a vampire is just asking to get your neck chomped on.
And sending polaroid pictures of your ass to a dragon is all fun and games till he decides to kidnap you.
My solution: Eat a ton of birthday cake then run like hell.
Warning! Kokoa will lead you into situations resulted in her recklessness and burning need of not giving a crap of what others think! ;) ☆Contains SEXUAL content and EXPLICIT language and dialogue.

Kokoa might be a wolf but she's the coolest chick I've ever met!! She's cute, smart and tells it like it is (which will totally make you laugh your *** off)!! JR Pearson doesn't hold anything back with all of the "sexy time" scenes! The characters are unique and the author paints of vivid picture of everything that's going on in her mythical setting. The whole time you will be wondering which guy Kokoa will want to have fun with next, what happens when she leaves "indecent" pictures for a stranger, and why her most feared relative wants to visit her on her birthday!! This book is a must read for paranormal romantic comedy lovers! I was temporarily distraught when the book ended but I was assured there is more to come! I am eagerly awaiting the next book! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from the author.

This writing style and I didn’t get along. I found the constant cheesy lines, and “bad ass” attitude wore thin on the third page. The one-liners zinging back and forth and constant character interaction without purpose took me out of the story. I felt like I was reading chapters worth of filler with very few real nuggets of plot or important information that would come up later.
The leading lady, Kokoa felt more like sixteen, than twenty-three, and her indecisiveness, immaturity, and concern over minuscule things annoyed me.
The world itself had potential. The story of a supernatural town, its founders, and the beings living in it intrigued me. Unfortunately, we didn’t get an in-depth look into that, and what we did get read too much like an info dump. There was an interesting twist, but it came so late in the story, it didn’t save the read for me. I felt like the story ended where it should’ve started.
This is my second read from this author and I was curious to see what she had in store for us. Just the synopsis alone had me pretty hyped up for what is the come from this new character. I really enjoyed reading about these characters and seeing where life took them, especially being a paranormal read anything could happen, but I was left hanging.
Kokoa seems to be this pretty awesome wolf and I love her best friends, even her somewhat annoying family members. Her uncle CRACKS me up!! But, I also have some hang ups about her because I think she could have been a little more decisive about some choices she could make. Don't get me wrong and think that I disagree with the author and how she gave this character three male choices but I was just annoyed that some things didn't happen.
Pearson gives her three male companions who are interested in Kokoa and they don't shy away from how they feel. Gavin, Jonathan and Adrian are the men of her choice but Kokoa isn't your typical wolf and she isn't on the market to choose just one. Gavin seems intriguing and sexy as every, but I am bias to vampires. Jonathan made me angry a few times throughout the book with his man ways but that lion had my lady parts interested. Most of all Adrian, the beast of a dragon had me turned on more than the other two, but I didn't see as much of him as I would have liked.
I was on the edge of my seat towards the end when a character helps Kokoa learn about herself and I was pretty excited. In all this was a great story to read but I did feel parts could have been expanded on and others shortened. It was a little more active than I am use to reading; such as different aspects to focus on (males choices and an unexpected ending). I also would have appreciated an epilogue just to give a preview if more is to come or ending this group of characters.
If you're in the mood for fantastical characters with whimsical events, this is the book for you. While reading about the inhabitants of the Isle of Grimstone, it's easy to get lost in a world of creatures of land, air and sea. The relationships are genuine and the love that you feel from the author for her creations is abundantly clear.
This book was not up my alley as much as "Boss Me, Fang". I felt like some of the language and sex/sex-drives were a bit forced, but that's strictly MY taste. I personally couldn't bond with Kokoa, the main character. She is feisty and fun and sexual and free. She goes after what she wants and it was interesting reading about what tangled webs were weaved in her presence due to her "act now, ask questions later" attitude. The creativity presented by the author, JR Pearson, is unmatched to anything else I've read. I swear her characters speak to her when she's writing, as if they're standing on her shoulders and whispering sweet nothings into her ears.
If you can let go of the mundane world you live in, and open your mind and heart to some imaginative situations and characters, I recommend "A Little FANG Never Hurt Anybody".
I don't know what to say about this author...but each book seems to be better than the previous ones..and that's hard to do because all of her books are awesome, but she has such a creative imagination. How else do you explain a taco junkie who is involved with a sexy dragon (who she leaves polaroid's of her butt in his car, lol), a vampire, and a lion!!!! and it all works because on the Isle of Grimstone anything and everything is possible. Its the Island of paranormals that under other circumstances wouldn't get along. This is such a fun book that will keep you laughing..oh a little hint ..don't be drinking anything while you read this, you may be prone to sudden episodes of spitting out your drink !!! I have loved all of the stories by this author so much that I have begun to purchase all of them in print as well. The characters have their own flaws and issues but those are the things that make this story what it. I highly recommend this books and all the others if you like to have a fun time while you read!
An interesting and engaging look at a new supernatural comedy with twists and romance galore.
Kokoa I really wanted the story behind her name especially when it's so different to her siblings so that would be awesome info in the next story, as for Kokoa as a character she is funny, really giggle snort funny and I'm very interested to see how her character develops with the series as the whole concept has me intrigued and I really lover supernatural romances with a difference and this one had plenty and gave me plenty of scope to think were other stories will go.
This is a fun, funny, fast paced paranormal romance with lots of twists and turns.
Kokoa is fun loving and constantly getting into situations out of her control. I mean, what can you say when your suitors are a vampire, lion and a dragon. What could possibly go wrong other than everything.
An amazingly funny book giving a glimpse into the life of one slightly crazy werewolf! There were a few parts which read as if words were missing and I found myself reading some sentences a couple of times in order to understand what the author was talking about. However, the story is a definite light hearted quick read which kept me happily entertained.
Do you want a fun filled read? Do you want to laugh at a heroine that is slightly out of her mind? Do you want to feel like you're part of the story? Do you like some paranormal, as in werewolves, vampires, dragons, etc.?
If you answered 'Yes' to any or all of the above questions, then I strongly urge you to read this new book from JR Pearson!
She will take you on a journey as Kokoa Lovell navigates her life and the insane attention from three hotties, two best friends/roommates, and a large loud family.
Tag along and find out what makes this book sexy, funny, and hard to put down. This is book #1 in the Monster Haven series, so I can't guarantee a happily ever after, but you won't be disappointed.
