1. Wrestler Ganesh ManugdeBajind is a historical novel with a special element, that of secret. Sakharam, the Karbhari of Dhangarwadi, leaves for Raigad. He wants to meet the mighty Shivaji Maharaj. During this short journey, they all luckily meet Khandoji, a great fighter and a skilled detective. Our trio is not aware of Khondaji’s qualities. He promises a meeting with the mighty king. This book also has many angles. The daughter of Shirke Sardar falls in love with Khondoji. The rivalry between Shivaji Maharaj and Shirke is very well known. Shirke is also a rival of Kadamb. Bahirji Naik, the greatest detective of the time and the core part of Shivaji Maharaj’s intelligence department, attacks the Shirkes.There is also a fight between Baji and the Moghul Sardar Husenkhan. Baji is well aware of the language of all living things including plants, animals and birds. At the time of his death, he shares his knowledge with Bajind, his disciple. The novel consists of many such twists and turns. It keeps us stuck to one place. The incidences penned down have their own speed. They do not allow us to linger anywhere. We get carried away with the plot, the story, the scheme, the presentation, the words, the vigour, vitality and valour.Through this book, we get to know more about the witty Bahirji Naik and his Intelligence Team. It also helps us to realise how well-established was the Swarajya. Bajind is a novel which would break many barriers in our minds. It allows us to take a peep into history and learn more about the bravery of our own soldiers and their strong patriotism.

पहिलवान लेखक व ऐतिहासिक कादंबरी हे समीकरण जरा वेगळं वाटले व औत्सुक्य वाटावं असे पुस्तकाचे मुखपृष्ठ पाहुन उत्सुकतेने 'बाजिंद' हे पुस्तक वाचायला घेतलं.
मुळात ही ऐतिहासिक कादंबरी असली तरी काल्पनिक रहस्यकथा आहे त्यामुळे काही ऐतिहासिक पात्र व प्रसंग यांचा संदर्भ घेऊन कथा पुढे जात रहाते.
आपली फिर्याद घेऊन रायगडावर शिवाजी महाराजांना भेटायलाल निघालेला सखाराम धनगर व त्याचे सहकारी यांना वाटेत बहिर्जी नाईकांचा चेला असलेला खंडोजी भेटतो व त्यांना रायगडावर पोहचवण्यास मदत करतो. त्या प्रवासात शिवाजी महाराज व शिर्के यांचे वैर, शिर्के यांची लेक सावित्री व खंडोजी यांची प्रेमकथा, यासारख्या उपकथानकाच्या जोडीने गुंफलेली बाजिंद कादंबरी ऊत्कंठावर्धक आहे.
कुठेही अलंकारीक वा ऐतिहासिक भाषा न वापरता साध्या व ओघवत्या भाषेत लेखकाने कथा लिहिलेली आहे.
पठडीतल्या ऐतिहासिक कादंबर्या सोडुव नवीन लेखकाने लिहिले काहीतरी चांगले वाचायचे असल्यास बाजिंद कादंबरी नक्की वाचावी.

पै.गणेश मानुगडे लिखित "बाजिंद" ही एक शिवकालीन ऐतिहासिक रहस्यमय कादंबरी होय. लेखकाने पूर्वी आदिलशाहीत सुभेदार असलेले येसोजी शिर्के यांची यशवंतमाची स्वराज्यात सामील होतानाचे ऐतिहासिक संदर्भ घेऊन त्यात ऐतिहासिक तसेच काल्पनिक पात्रांचा आधार घेऊन एक वेगवान कथानक गुंफून शिवरायांचे हेरखात्याचे प्रमुख असलेल्या बहिर्जी नाईक यांना मानाचा मुजरा केला आहे.
शिवाजी महाराजांनी किशोरवयातच निरनिराळ्या मुस्लिम पातशाहांनी वेढलेल्या मध्ययुगीन भारतात हिंदवी स्वराज्याची मुहूर्तमेढ रोवली. आधुनिक युगात इस्त्राईल देशाने शिवाजी महाराजांच्या याच कार्याची प्रेरणा घेत चहुबाजुंनी अरबी राष्ट्रांचा वेढा असूनही स्वतंत्र ज्यू राष्ट्राची निर्मिती करत कायम त्यांना जेरीस आणले. याच देशाच्या सर्वोत्तम हेरखाते असलेली मोसाद ही संघटना शिवरायांना आणि बहिर्जी नाईकांना आपला आदर्श मानीत जगावर ठसा उमटवते. इकडे भारत मात्र एकाच शेजाऱ्याकडून मागील 70 वर्षाहून अधिक काळापासून दहशतवाद सहन करतोय आणि याच भारतात बाणूरगड येथील बहिर्जी नाईकांची समाधी आपल्यापैकी बऱ्याच जणांना माहीतही नाही हे आपले दुर्देव.
रायगडावरील टकमक टोकावरून दोषी गुन्हेगारांना खाली फेकण्यात येत होते आणि याचा त्रास पायथ्यावरील एका गावाला होत असल्याने त्या गावाचे कारभारी इतर 3 जणांना सोबत घेऊन महाराजांकडे फिर्याद मागायला रायगडावर निघतात. या प्रवासात त्यांना बहिर्जींचे खास खंडोजी आणि सावित्री भेटतात. ते दोघे मिळून त्यांना स्वतःची आणि बाजिंदची गोष्ट सांगतात. अशी पुस्तकाची एकूण कथा आहे.
यात दोन प्रेमउपकथाही आहेत; खंडोजी आणि सावित्रीची तसेच बाजींद आणि नूरजहाँ यांची. काही प्रसंग आपल्याला वाचताना अद्भुत वा फँटसी वाटतात पण पुस्तकाच्या शेवटच्या काही प्रकरणात त्याचे स्पष्टीकरण देऊन त्याला पूर्णविराम दिला आहे. लेखकाची कथा मांडण्याची पद्धत, ऐतिहासिक आणि काल्पनिक गोष्टीचा केलेला उत्तम संगम तसेच एखाद्या सस्पेन्स चित्रपटाला शोभावी असा शेवट या पुस्तकाच्या जमेच्या बाजू आहेत.
काही प्रसंग थोडे फिल्मी वाटतात, त्याला आपण दुर्लक्षित करून कादंबरीतील मनोरंजनाचा पूर्णपणे आस्वाद घेऊ शकतो.

बाजिंद हि कथा टकमक टोका च्या अवतिभोवती फिरते. संपूर्ण कथा बहिर्जी नाईक ह्यांच्या विश्वासु साथीदार खंडोजी वर आधारीत आहे. लेखकाने त्याची प्रेमकहाणी सोबतच, काही छोट्या मोठ्या लढायांची वर्णने छान लिहिली आहेत.
संपूर्ण कथा ऐतिहासिक पात्रांसोबत काल्पनिक वर्णनांची सांगड आहे.

कथा फार उत्तम गुंफली आहे, ज्यात शेवटी शेवटी नाईकांबाबत माहिती आहे.
सुरवातीला एक वेगळीच कथा लेखकाने निर्माण केली आहे, पण ती वाचतांना आनंद आणि उत्सुकताच असते.

कथेत "बाजिंद" नावाचं एक उत्तम आगळंवेगळं पात्रं तयार केलं आहे, जे फार छान आहे. त्या विषयी जाणण्यासाठी घ्या पुस्तक आणि काढा वाचुन एकदा. आवडेल तुम्हाला.

ही ऐतहासिक पात्रांची आणि दंतकथेची सांगड घालून रचलेली काल्पनिक कथा वाचकाला खिळवून ठेवण्यात पूर्णपणे यशस्वी होते. जागोजागी आलेली महाराजांची, बहिर्जी नाईकांची आणि स्वराज्याची वरणचित्रे शहारे देऊन जातात. बहिर्जी नाईकांबद्दल जास्त दस्तावेज कुठेही मिळत नाहीत हेच त्यांचं हेर खात किती बलाढ्य आणि भक्कम होत याची पोचपावती आहे. काल्पनिक असली तरी कथा ही रोमांचक रित्या पुढे सरकत जाते आणि बऱ्याचदा विचार येऊन जातो की कदाचित अस घडलही असावं. ऐतिहसिक कादंबऱ्या मधे रुची असणाऱ्यांनी नक्कीच वाचावी अशी ही साहित्यकृती आहे.

I listened to Bajind by Pehilwan Ganesh Manugade on storytel yesterday. It is relatively short (170 pages) novel based around Raigad. It was different from any of the marathi books I've read set in that period. This is a thrilling story of how two spies from Bahirji Naik's unit find themselves on the wrong side of Maratha conquest. There's a bit of magical element too, with forest dwelling community "bajind" being able to control animals. But it's very light, just to get narrative ahead. After all the whole story is structured as narrations within narration.

Recommended specifically to anyone who's in for a spy thriller in Shivkalin setting. Also waiting for the second part.

उत्कृष्ट लेखन, उत्तम कथानक, ऐतिहासिक शिवकालीन दृष्य अगदी हुबेहूब डोळ्यासमोर उभे करण्यात कादंबरी यशस्वी ठरते.
काही शिवकालीन घटना अंगावर रोमांच उठवतात. तशेच शिवरायांचे गुप्तहेर खाते कशाप्रकारे काम करायचे याचं अनुभव आपल्याला ह्या कादंबरी मधून घेता येतो. प्रत्यकाने आवर्जून वाचावे अशी कादंबरी

Fantastic Book👌👌

अप्रतिम ऐतिहासिक पुस्तक 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 शेवट पर्यंत उत्कंठा टिकवून ठेवण्यात लेखक यशस्वी ठरला आहे . लेखन शैली खूपच सुरेख आहे. कादंबरी वाचताना कुठेही कंटाळवाणी होत नाही. शेवटच्या काही प्रकरणामध्ये वेगळीच अनपेक्षित कलाटणी मिळते 👌🏻
सर्वांनी जरूर वाचावे असे उत्कंठावर्धक पुस्तक आहे.

Takes you to the 17th century Western Ghats. A light read with a mix of fantasy and history, got to know many new things about Bahirji Naik. Having said that there are lots of repetitions of same things which could have avoided. Some minor plot holes but its ok as a fun read.
