One of my favorite Stereks.

The wolf's boy is called Stiles.
The wolf huffs at that. Stiles.
What is a Stiles?
A Stiles is pack. A Stiles is salt tears and smiles. A Stiles is skinny fingers that taste like the grease from burgers, and clothes that smell of stale sweat. A Stiles is feet that fall into step with the wolf's own. A Stiles is amber eyes and pale skin and moles. A Stiles is a tug on the wolf's instincts, on his aching heart.
A Stiles is pack.
My favorite Sterek. I can't get enough of this book.
I love Lisa Henry's writing. The writing in this was so intense, so emotional. Just wonderful.
Stiles is 16 and living on the streets of Beacon Hills when he meets a dog one day. This dog saves him by bringing him food when he is sick. So Stiles hopes this wonderful dog sticks around so they can at least survive together.
The wolf doesn't know what he is doing there. He only knows he has to protect the boy. Because the boy feels like pack.
But Stiles seems to get into trouble a lot because he is trying to find a way to rescue his dad, who has been in jail for the last 4 years.
Stiles just knows his father is framed, but it isn't until he hears the voice of the deputy, Kate Argent, that he knows he is on the right track....
This started out incredibly bleak. So bleak that I wasn't sure where this was going, or if there ever would be anything resembling happiness (but don't worry, we got a lovely HEA).
This entire book was action packed from start to end, and it was wonderful. I loved how things got revealed bit by bit. It was awesome to read a book where I had no idea what was going to happen or how things would play out.
The romance was a bit different than a regular romance. In the first half Derek is a wolf, so a bond is formed, but nothing more. But since these guys were so drawn to each other from the start, it felt like the romance had already started.
We got some steamy scenes at the end. And I don't care that Stiles was basically still 16 and Derek 22. It's Sterek, so underage sex, who cares!
This was quite an angsty ride, and it was awesome!
(And an extra yay for the Pokémon reference!)

Emotional one. Love the wolf and his boy, a small yet fierce pack who hold each other together. The simplicity of the bond 'Stiles is pack' is powerful. And how things develop.
And MELISSA, go Melissa!
As always the story left me in awe of DW of how emotions are wrangled with apparent ease, and smiles slipped in.

One of my favorite Sterek fanfics to date. This one made me think I need to try a Petopher fanfic soon. They’d be hot together for sure and I always hated Victoria anyways.

Angst, heartbreak, despair... a hallmark DW TW fan fic, you think.
Nuh uh, nope, nyet, do not pass go, donut collect yer two hunnert bux.
I mean, yeah, she douses ye in emotion, in those single-word hammers that land dead center in the gut. An yeah, she knows her version of these characters like they've been tatted all over her body. Aaaaand yeah, we git some uh nasty deaths, a bit of snark here and there, and loads of, well, you'd best make sure all hands and feet and ears and all the rest are inside the car at all times.
OK no, don't do that, it isn't any fun, especially in a DW version of TW canon!!!
The extras and lit'le twists & turns give us even more meat at this fantasy smorgasbord.
Stiles deserves ALL. THE. STUFF.
ALLLLLLLLL the hugs and soft beds and Derek chuffs.
Derek: the same, from Stiles.
Scott is actually palatable here, offering the first taste of hope in this dark offering.
And so much more!
I love, tha's all there is to it. And I made it to the other side thanks to the Survivor's Group!!!

This was at times impossible for me to read.
It pained me.

A boy and his wolf.
This fanfic ripped my heart out. The angst is heavy.
But so are the themes of hope and redemption. Pack plays a big part too.
The pain was worth it in the end.
Recommended for Sterek fans!

What can I say? It was GREAT! Loved Derek as comfort-wolf. This one isn't as light as other DW fanfic, but it had its moments. This was just so well thought out and (seemingly) planned; it's amazing how DW can write these and not know where she is going with it, and yet still come out with a story that is ready for the Big Screen. You know? Highly recommend - you have to read to this one to find out just was Derek and Stiles are put through this time. :-)

It's finally complete!
Amazing! I hadn't read sterek fanfic in a good long while and this was just perfect. The boy and his wolf became each other's saviours in the streets and damn if it didn't hit me right in the gut. Deeply emotional stuff with excellent writing as always by discontentedwinter aka Lisa Henry.
The action was spot on when it came and my fears that this would remain platonic kiddy love were unfounded! Score! Stiles and Derek loved each other on another level in this fic and when it became physical at the very end it was EVERYTHING!
Sheriff Stilinski is an invisible force driving Stiles for the majority of the story and the feels reached ridiculous levels with the resolution given. I mean, give me a fucking field of flowers to run around naked in right now. That's how happy I felt at the end of this.

Aww, how I liked this! All the touching and feelings! And Stiles and Derek. And Derek as a wolf!
If I need to complain about something there would be this: that DiscontentedWinter didn't spend as much time completing the image of the new pack and the new liaisons as she did in the beginning with Stiles and Derek.
Quite enjoyed reading this. I could really invest in the characters, the plot was intricate and wonderfully woven, the action scenes were beautifully choreographed. I wouldn't mind reading more!

Throughout the whole story, a tear or two would escape but I didn't really start crying until Isaac, the new foster kid.

This was a great story. This is a Sterek fanfiction story. For those of you that don't know...Sterek fanfic is based off 2 male characters, Stiles and Derek, from the TV show Teen Wolf. In the show they're both heterosexual but some viewers have fantasized about them together in a m/m relationship and thus Sterek was born. This story isn't based in the TV show world at all.
So in this story, Derek's family was killed in a fire set by Kate but most everything after that is different from the normal (TV show) history. Sheriff Stilinski was investigating the fire and someone got pissed that he wouldn't let it drop and framed him for crimes he didn't commit. The Sheriff was sent to prison and Stiles was put in Foster care and not allowed to see his father at all. None of the homes Stiles was put in were good ones and he ended up running away and heading back to Beacon Hill. He lived on the streets, trying desperately to figure out how to get his dad free and his life back.
When this story begins, Stiles has had a rough time on the streets and is saved by a "dog" he befriends. Of course Stiles doesn't realize that his dog is really Derek (a Derek that hasn't switched back to human form since the fire). Derek sees Stiles as his pack and is determined to help him and keep him safe. I don't want to go into details and risk spoilers so lets just say that things happen and work out so that Stiles gets his dad back and Stiles and Derek are happily together.
I really enjoyed this story a lot! I really liked Stiles and Derek in this story and I felt for them. There was a lot of angst but there was also a lot of good (but still very intense) emotions as well. That just made it more gratifying to see things end well though and I really liked how things turned out (for everyone).

My post-reading high is warming enough that I actually decided to give this Sterek AU my rare 5th star (though I can't tell how objective that is).
It's touching (so many feels for both Stiles and wolf|Derek, and the other characters are well-developed, too, such as Melissa McCall's difficult decisions), cleverly conceived, and powerfully executed, fully satisfying my angst-with-a-happy-ending wishes.
It's very AU in some ways (obviously in what has happened re. the Sheriff, plus Kate (We hates her so much!), and Laura, and Peter, and… — but I won't spoil any of that for you!), yet manages to circle around to being pretty canon in others.
There are a couple of lesser pairings which the author chose not to pre-reveal in tags, so I won't either.
The writing is good enough that I'll probably be highlighting a number of lines and ideas if my reread is done via an applicable app.
Oh, btw, though, it's not for readers who (A) adhere strictly to maturity as a number (the Sterek that develops once 16yo Stiles gets to know Derek in his human form felt sweet to me, though this is not primarily a romance), or who (B) refuse to see any good in Scott.
Honestly, I'm more used to TW AUs that highlight Scott's unfortunate ability to make short-sighted and/or selfish decisions, but he does also have good-hearted aspects, and this story, timed at the beginning of the series, already puts him in a different role than being named some sort of destined leader. (No cryptic veterinarian plays a part!)
I definitely will be reading more from this author — though hopefully not before I deal with at least some of the other things my distractable self is in the middle of atm!

Why oh why did I start reading a 27 chapter DW tear-jerker at 10:30 at night? Cuz apparently I like to silently cry into my pillow in the dark at 2 in the morning. SO. FUCKEN. GOOD. The feelz. I can barely handle it. And we got some emotional smexin at the end which I SO appreciate. Love the other surprise pairings as well!

This fanfic has a bit of most of the things I like about Sterek fics (one of the main things being wolf!Derek) but it's interesting that it starts off with a homeless Stiles and a wild and ragged Derek. They do manage to save each other and most of everybody else, but not because they're very strong or wise, but because their cause is just and they earn the trust and help of all the honest people around them.

Man...I really like sterek fics.. this one was great, I’ll admit i wanted more stiles and Derek fluffy time. It wasn’t quite like “Little Wild Animal” in its sweetness and cuteness.
I think maybe this one was a little more plot driven? But honestly, when I go read sterek fics, I’m kinda there for the fluff most of the time. Still, this was totally a worth while read.

It was different from what I expected, but the story is really good.
It was heartbreaking most of the time with Stiles and Derek starving and living on the streets and then being tortured but there's HEA and it made everything better.
