The cauldron of tension at Luna Lodge is threatening to boil over. With distrust mounting between the military and the hybrids, Cato is forced to walk a tightrope between the two factions, or risk the situation exploding into violent disaster. His balancing act is threatened by the presence of the distractingly attractive Staff Sergeant Wendy Morris. He can’t trust a woman who is with the very military oppressing his people. Wendy has worked hard to rise in the ranks of the ultimate male-dominated field. She's not crazy about her current assignment, but if her superiors think the hybrids are a threat, then she’s not going to question them. However, the more she gets to know the moody and handsome Cato, the more she starts to wonder just who the threat is. When unexpected trouble descends on the Lodge, the pair will need to team up to keep everyone around them safe and protect their own chance at true happiness.

Madison currently lives with her husband and two children in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, Arizona. After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, Madison was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she had stated on more than one occasion how much she hated the heat, it was an odd move. But it seemed her hatred for sub-zero temps and ice, or really the things that ice could do, won out in the end.
When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle. Luckily he is also an author and able to share in all the activities (and chores) special needs kids require.
Madison has a full schedule of releases planned for 2014 listed and updated on her blog:

"The Lodge was the place they’d finally come into their own."

Cato, A hybrid of Luna Lodge, isn't exactly a people person, but when his leader Titus tells him he's the one for the job he takes on a mission that is entirely outside his wheelhouse.

Wendy has been a woman in the Army long enough to have created boundaries between her professional and private lives for a lot of good reasons, but her current task while assigned to Luna Lodge is less Army MOS and more... can't we hire a civilian to just do this?

This story continues on the theme of are the walls there to protect (and if so who), or contain, but also treads more firmly into how a place becomes a home. The hybrids don't just live at Luna Lodge, they are learning and growing there, they are discovering freedom, and gaining perspective on their past... "The Lodge was the place they’d finally come into their own"... it isn't just a stop along the way, it's a place they've fought for.

2.5 stars.

These are a little better than ok, and alright to pass the time. If they were regular length books I probably would have stopped many books back, but because they’re short it isn’t as bad.

Nothing really happens in these books, yet a heap happens? There aren’t many scenes, but there’s always one ‘big thing’. Usually they end in a way to entice you to read more, this one didn’t it was just talking about love then the end. Looking up who the next ones about I kinda do want to continue so I guess I will soon.

I liked these books more when they had substance. Maybe they never really did, but the longer they go on, the more obvious the fluff is. Reading these is like stacking loose leaf paper. Every one you put down makes no progress, but 20 later you've made a small dent.

This edition finally gave us a little drama to move forward with, at the expense of more lives. I was sad at the death, but I guess its better than the apathy of the last 5 books.

Dang!

I am still freaking from this one. There is so much going on, you never know who the enemy is! Just when you think you know where the story is headed along comes another monkey wrench. Dang!

Beauty and tragedy.

Cato and Wendy turned into a very cute couple. Prepare yourself because there is some character death at the end when the bad guys attack. But it still ends on a hopeful note.

Finally a move forward but I’m having a hard time with the “mind control”. Isn’t one of the mates a hacker? She can’t find anything?

Awesome...

Yet another great installment in the Luna Lodge series. The plot continues to thicken. The bad guys continue to attack but the hybrids will survive. Can't wait for the next book.
