इस पुस्तक में तीन महारथियों के पत्र संकलित हैं जो उन्होने समय-समय पर रामविलास शर्मा को पत्र लिखते रहे। प्रेमचंद के बाद जिन लेखकों का संबंध ग्राम जीवन से था जिनके उपन्यास खूब पढे गए, उनमें वृंदावनलाल वर्मा का स्थान सबसे ऊपर है। हिन्दी के वह सर्वश्रेष्ठ ऐतिहासिक उपन्यासकार हैं। अक्सर देखा जाता है कि अतीत का चित्रण करते हुए कथाकार पुनरुत्थानवादी दृष्टिकोण अपनाते है। इसी प्रकार पत्रकार बनारसीदास चतुर्वेदी और भाषाविज्ञानी किशोरी दास वाजपेयी जि का भी संबंध लेखक से आत्मीय रहा। हिन्दी साहित्य के महान साहित्यकारों के संस्मरण इस पुस्तक में पाठकों को पढ़ने को मिलेंगे।

Teen Maharathiyon ke Patra by Ramvilas Sharma- The book consists of letters to Dr Ramvilas Sharma (10-10-1912 to 30-05-2000) Lucknow, Agra and New Delhi from famous contemporary friendly authors of Hindi Literature first, Vrindavan Lal Verma, Jhansi U.P. (09-01-1889 to 23-02-1969), second Banarasidas Chaturvedi (24-12-1892 to 2-5-1985) Varanasi, U.P., third, Kishoridas Vajpayee, Varanasi U.P. The book contains letters by these three authors to Dr Ramvilas Sharma about what books they plan to write, work done by friends living in other cities. Letters are an important part of literature. All these authors were committerd to development of hindi language. They were not competitors but participants whose aim was better writing on life of Indian people. More similar books should be published. It is a worth reading book.
