Thus the end of the anime was not really the same. They changed ALOT in the anime though I doubt there will be any back tracking in the light novel so it is a never mind thing. I do not get why the witch's apprentice is a girl in the book but a boy in the anime. It is a good book and glad that there is already a volume 4 so I can go on to the next part. The ending character like volume 1 does not end on a climax or a explain how everyone is going to be after the story thing but a thing to lead into the next book. The end also seems like it is made to be read like it is one huge book of volume 1 2 3 4 5 and 6 all in one book instead of 6 different ones.
Anyways good story and the changes in the light novel, the source for the anime, make it better than the anime. Longer and more time consuming but better in my mind.

Okaaaay, I'm not going to lie, I'm loving the light novel of this more than the manga. I feel like the manga is a lot slower, among other things. The light novel is fast paced, there's lots going on and I feel like this works better as a light novel. However....yes. There's a however....I feel like this volume is a bit slower than usual.
Satou's having some weird visions which I'm sure are going to pop up in the next volume and he spends a good chunk of this volume gaining and levelling up a tonne of new skills which, again, I'm sure are going to come in to play next volume although some of them where used this volume. We spend this volume moving on from the previous setting and venturing out in to the world. We get some more tidbits of how the world works and the history of it, and we visit various towns and cities...uncovering a plot as we go along.
We even get to learn some more about how the magic works, and meet a couple of new characters that might come in handy later...or next volume. I'm sure you can see what I'm saying here. This volume, to me, felt like a transition volume. We move from one setting to another, a lot of things have been set up, some connections made, some new skills gained and so on. There was a good pace to this volume but not much really happened until towards the end of the volume, making this slower than the previous two volumes and it didn't grab my attention as much. The plus side is the knowledge we've gained and the set up for the next volume and presumably the next story arc!
There may or may not be some trouble ahead, and it looks like Zena will be back next volume which should prove interesting! This one was a bit slow and dragged a little.
Over the basic story in this novel was quite good but I felt it very slow in the beginning and towards the middle. The whole story came across feeling like a filler. Something you would put in between two major storylines. As I was reading this I kept losing focus and had to go back and reread some to see what I missed. I certainly hope this story picks up in the next book.

Volume 3 still has the same pros and cons as the previous two volumes.
Pro's: Interesting ideas. More details and story than the anime etc.
Cons: Still a bit of fan service with overly descriptive exposition on certain characters anatomical features. Harem of adoring girls doting on the hero.
Volume 3 focuses less on major battles and settles in for some worldbuilding and background exposition though.

I'd highly recommend this over the anime and it's a very good light novel in its own right as well.Would recommend as it give a lot of depth to the characters that the anime did not.
It being in book form of course also allows it to convey more smaller details which is always nice.
The small changes that the anime made confused me. Like the gender of the witch's apprentice changing. There is no reason for this a part from deviating from the original.

This Isekai, Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody, is one of the best I have read so far. It starts off with the protagonist, Satou who is a programmer at a gaming company falling asleep under his bench at work after working himself to fatigue and then he finds himself in a fantasy world similar to the game he was working on, and he soon realises he is not dreaming but really there. He soon is in a harem situation, starting with 3 slave girls he rescued.

I like how this volume tried to deviate from the first 2 and develope a story around Satou and his adventures travelling to Kuhanou county. I felt like it could have spent more time building up the world and places of interest around the two counties but overall still very enjoyable

The volume focused a lot on interactions between Satou and his harem, but as all the characters are all more or less bland, the result was unsatisfactory. The volume picked up around last 1/5 at least, with the conflict surrounding the potions.

I can only say that the author must be a real foody. Monster meat sounds delicious in this series.

First half of the book was quite boring, I was ready to give this two stars and stop reading. However, the ending was well planned out and quite enjoyable. Will be picking up the next book.

The third book went very fast.
They traveled a lot for the first part of the book until they got to stones that looked like torii gates. Something weird happened to Satou there.
Things get back on track until later where they have to save people and run into monsters.
Then a villainous character from the first book (almost start of a running joke sorta like Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers in Harry Potter.) shows up wanting to be big and bad in a stupid way. Of course this is no bueno for satou. And so he must be destroyed.
I enjoyed the book because Satou's exploring the magical world as well as the world around him.
