I loved this Bible study! The coffee analogies made it fun and meaningful. The author explores God's Word with unique word pictures.

Because I love studying Scripture, I especially appreciated the different study approaches. One example is the “blended-flavor details study approach” where the author talked about how the different flavors of specialty coffee drinks blend together to a unique taste sensation and then encouraged readers to explore a passage of Scripture, looking at it from different angles through thought-provoking questions.

Throughout the 7-week study, there are ample opportunities to drink deeply from God’s Word. The book also includes personal stories, fun coffee facts, delicious recipes, and even some coffee-themed projects that would be especially fun for groups to complete together. The imagery in this study helped me grab onto concepts that freed my soul and deepened my relationship with Christ.

Excellent Bible study! Deb Burma does an awesome job of relating our coffee cups to our own lives and how we fill them. You will be blessed as you are motivated to fill your cup to sip, savor and drink deeply from God's word. There are some cool recipes included too.

I am loving this book and study. The time I spend with my drink of choice is something I look forward to. Debs writing style leaves me feeling as if I have just had coffee with a close friend. It is deepening my walk with Christ as I empty my stained, cracked and worn out cup daily, refilling it with God's word and promises. There are also fun activities to do as a small group as well as recipes to share as you finish the chapters. I am looking forward to finishing this book and finding ways to use it in the future with others.

Deb has a wonderful knack for bringing a down-home feeling to a study. Even though some of it can get very deep, it is thorough and caring. The extras like the crafts, recipes, and trivia notes are great bonus additions to each chapter. You'll want to add this one to your book club lists to share the ideas and discussions with others.

Deb Burma has a very special gift for making the reader feel like he or she is sitting just across the table having a cup of coffee and good conversation. This book will hit home with many as it discusses the importance of taking time to fill (and keep full) the most important cup-our own cup-by taking in the Lord's word. She guides the reader to relate His word to daily life in a practical and fun way. I love the fun surprises in the book along the way-recipes, coffee trivia, even craft ideas! You will love this book and if you have ever thought about a book-based Bible study, this would definitely be a great place to start!

The research is there. The coffee references are there. But something doesn't mesh.

The chapters aren't focused. The tangents throughout are nice thoughts and stories, but they don't come together to elaborate on the chapter's topic. They just seem like fun unrelated life experiences noted down.

The discussion questions are "fine" on their own. The chapter itself is difficult to discuss in relation. But you can chat with the group about your own life.

2 stars because it was not an organized Bible study book, but it can possibly meet the goal of bringing together a group socially. I just wish for a bit smarter, organized commentary. I know the author has it in her - you can tell she's well versed in scripture.
