My name is Glory Mason, and I come from a town called Dogwood, deep in the mountains of West Virginia. It was my home, the place where I belonged. But I don’t belong anywhere now.
I always wanted to know the truth about the world outside of Dogwood, and I finally got my wish. In loads of ways, it’s better than I ever imagined. But in some ways, it’s worse. Like having to figure out who I can trust. Because if anyone learns the truth about me, I’m doomed for sure.
I initially read this book around 10 years ago, but never was able to acquire the first book of the series. All of the sudden, this storyline came into my mind and wouldn't leave.
After a few hours of googling I figured it out, and I've decided to work my way through reading all 4 installments of Glory's story!
I thought I remembered this story being longer (part 2 that is), but I probably was just a child and didn't have a good concept of what "long" means.
Glory has found her way into the town of Shadow Tree with the help of a friend. She struggles to survive but finds help in the form of the Aiden family. I enjoyed reading Glory's amazement at the modern world and seeing her growth as a character. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I could not put this book down. So many secrets and lies I just knew Glory would slip up and get caught in one. Can't wait to read #3 to see what happens to her when she gets to Boston.
