What If?

Rate this book
In a world ravaged by war and disastrous climatic problems, the survivors are forced to live in protected cities under extreme conditions. The cities are controlled by the rich, the poorer classes limited to conditions that are at times best described as unbearable. Dominated by gangs, constantly under threat, the lower class citizens are treated with very little respect while the upper class live like Gods. Private armies protect the rich, ensuring their privileged positions are not threatened while the gangs squeeze what little air is left out of the general population. As a result an underground movement has formed but is leaderless and hopelessly inadequate. Any attempts at interference are squashed either by the gangs or members of the private army. Aware of the rising tensions and tired of only existing, two brothers make a decision they will both come to regret, setting a chain of events in motion that will eventually change the lives of everybody they know. The novel details the attempts of a son to save the father he never knew. Whilst doing so, he has to battle against `Scroungers´, `Screechers´, `Creepers´ and overcome even death itself.
