Magic. Fantasy. Romance. Perfect for fans of Tamora Pierce, Elise Kova, and Rachel E. Carter.
A demonic satyr. Rogue pixies. Diminutive dragons. Phoenixes and imps. No one ever said magic would be boring.
Clara barely survived the dark force that attacked Irele Castle. One of her teachers didn't. But the number of dark magicians hunting her and her friends has only increased.
She still doesn't understand the extent of her powers, and her foes are cutting off every opportunity for her to discover it. As if the immortal count weren't terrifying enough, now Clara's former fiancé and a magician she believed dead have combined their efforts to kill her.
And it gets worse. The Merqueen's already stolen three years of Clara's life. But she wants more, and she's as powerful as the count. They're racing to claim her soul. Will Clara, who's still new to the magical world, be able to find the way to stop them in time, when the many forces of darkness are converging on her?
If you like stories with non-stop adventure, empowered heroines, moody magicians, and mythical creatures with attitude, you'll love The Merqueen, the third installment in The Witching World series.

Clara is turning into witch To watch out for! Without any training she’s already flying to the amazement of the elder witches! She is now teaching them the things that she knows how to do that they can’t! To watch out for! Without any training she’s already flying to the amazement of the elder witches! She is now teaching them the things that she knows how to do that they can’t!
As with the previous visi as with the previous in that series they still haven’t really had the time to train her but now included the problems they’re having with Evil which is they’re about to!
I personally can’t wait to read the next book in this phenomenal serious!
Another wonderful wonderful book written by this author! One by one I’m reading everyone of her books and I highly recommend everybody does!
SPOILER ALERT: The final element gives her confidence & the ability to do anything she sets her mind to do. It really is amazing how she seems to learn better on her own. Even though Clara still thinks they can teach her stuff, I don't think she realizes how hard it will be for them to translate how they do magic to how she does it. There is a house difference between the way she does magic & how they have to learn & memorize spells. Clara can literally skip the spells & just ask the elements to do her bidding. I am so glad that she finally figured out who the cat was. I would have been full of hate & anger too, but now that they know they can plan their attack.
I absolutely love the way Lucia Ashta writes! She has a way of vividly describing each character, each, scene, each feeling as if you were there experiencing every moment. It's awesome! I love her magical world as it has all the fantastical surprises that keep you on the edge of your seat. Her imagination seems unbounded and limitless. In my view she has earned all five stars I have voluntarily given and would give more if I could. I received this book free from the author but this has not influenced my high review of it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, or even those who may not, as this book series could very likely change their minds!
Lucia Ashta has done it again with another awesome, adventurous read in The Witching World series. Clara's magic grows continuing to amaze both Marcelo & Mordicai. More dark magic approaches for them to battle along with the introduction of new characters. Just what is the 5th element & what will it bring? Clara is strong & practically fearless eager to learn all she can about magic. The bond between Clara and Marcelo continues to grow strong through all the trials and tribulations they conquer. I received this book free from the author in return for an honest review. I'm on the edge of my seat ready to read The Witching World #4 The Ginger Cat.
The Merqueen is Book 3 in the Witching World series. Lucia has given us an awesome thrill ride with this book and series. Her imagination and use of words have given us a fantastic world with a kick a** Female lead character, Clara. It's an honor to be brought on this adventure. If you like KA heroines, fast-paced rollercoaster action, magical creatures (love the owl), page-turning excellence, you will love this book and series. Am anxiously looking forward to book 4 to see where Lucia takes us. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Once again Lucia delivers a fast paced exciting tale of magic, mystery and conflict.
Clara and Marcelo grow closer together, returning to Marcelo's family home after escaping from Clara's former fiance to discover Marcelo's nephew and Count Washur waiting for them. Clara continues to explore her abilities with astonishing results which necessitate an immediate return to Mordicai only to discover he is not himself. They need to save him in order to get his help with Clara's magic
This series is sometimes frustrating for me and I can't put my finger on why, but I think it's the pace of the story. Not that it is slow reading but that not a lot happens in each book. I wasn't sitting on the edge of my seat. That said, it's still a very interesting series and the characters are likeable or unlikable if that's what they are meant to be. I'm off to reading the next book "The Ginger Cat".
Clara’s Story continues and each one as good as the first!
Enjoying the escape into this story of Clara’s. I love the many twists and turns and how detailed this story is. I’m grateful that I can keep reading through and not having to wait for the next to come out.
I love the action and magic in these books. Well written story with so much detail and just the right amount of everything.
Clara and Marcelo are back and the enemy is still hiding in the shadows and also in the open. Lucia Ashta has a way of making you invested in her characters. I'm exhausted from staying up all night to find out how it ends and it he's me salivating for the next chapter "The Ginger Cat". Can't wait
This book! Each book is better than the last. I highly recommend this book. What Clara goes through is something everyone goes through. I could not put this book down until the early hours. A nail biter for sure. I can't wait for the next one.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Clara encounters a whole new world of adventure in this book, and the characters are just simply captivating. If you are a fan of mermaids and life under the sea, along with magical twists and a bit of adventure, you'll enjoy this book.
Oh, no! The Merqueen is back! This is the third marvelous adventure with Clara and Marcell in Lucia Ashta's The Witching World series. Clara and Marcell can never get a break, seems like everywhere they turn, trouble is lurking.! I can't wait to read the next one in the series
Interesting continuation of these characters you fall in love with. Seems they can’t ever get a break. It amuses me how Clara teachers herself more magic then anyone take!
I love the storyline in this series. You never know what will happen next. The main characters are wonderful and it feels like you are there watching everything happening.
I loved reading more of Clara's story. And reading more about the Merqueen was wonderful. The characters are so awesome. This series is one of the best I have ever read.
The Merqueen is book three in Lucia Ashta’s Witching World Series, this continues on from book two “The Five-Petal Knot”.
After the battle and loose of Albacus things are going to get a lot harder for Clara, Marcelo, Mordecai, Sir Lancelot and Sylvia. Now without his brother Mordecai is struggle with grief and loss, but a houseful of unexpected and unwanted guests is the last thing they need with darkness still out to get them. Clara must learn everything she can before Marcelo’s nephew and Count Washur come back to finish what they started. But something is always getting in the way delaying her lessons. Marcelo must go back home to Castle Burdy to claim the Counts role after his fathers death, but leaving Mordecai behind with his grieving is the less of his and Clara troubles that they must overcome.
I love the mythical creatures in this series. The characters continue to grow and flourish, as well as the storyline. I did find Clara a little irresponsible and childish at parts in this book, I understand she is powerful and eggar to learn, but at the end of the day she is new to this world and doesn’t understand the risk and ramifications is spells go wrong, but she would listen to what Marcelo was trying to tell her. (As proof of the Terrance scene) But the bond and connection between Marcelo and Clara continue to grow as they look forward to building a future together.
So many questions, I have so many questions after reading this book. What is Count Washur up to? What happened to Salazar growing up? What is Mirvela trying to accomplish? Will Marcelo and Clara ever marry? What is Clara capable of? How did Gertrude get mixed up in this? Hopefully some of these questions will be answered in the next book.
