Did you know geeky humans squeak when squeezed? Totally awesome. Adi thinks there are plenty of things that are awesome, such as gravy and cheese on fries, motorcycles that growl, oh, and the fact that she is a wicked dragon with a freakishly cool power. But do you know what's more awesome than all that? A certain geeky fellow in charge of the IT department for a medical lab situated in small-town hell.
There is nothing small about Dexter, though. He might blush at certain things, and use his brain - not brawn - to succeed, but the man is built big. And Adi likes big things. The fact that she likes him won't mean squat to her mother, though. Dear old Mom will hate that he is human. She will dislike Adi's plan to keep him even more. Because he's mine to keep and squeeze.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙💚❤️ Steam: 🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗 World building: 🌏🌍🌏 Character development: ☺️🤭 Narration: 🎙🎙 Narration Type: Solo Narration
The Hero:Dexter - he was a human IT geek at recently got a job at Lytropia institute. He is a large man and somewhat broody. He is also a bit staid and boring. He drives a car from the 1980’s, and is rooming in a place where the elderly owner is totally against premarital sex. Though he is attracted to cute little the pixie that he meets, named Adi.
The heroine:Adi - fraternal twin sister to Aimi from Becoming Dragon and an elite white dragon shifter. She was the researcher of their family; she was good with computers and is as quirky as she is intelligent. She also has a huge adventurous streak and has less than a year before she is considered a spinster at 28. When female dragons become 28 and aren’t married, they have to live at home for the rest of their days and serve as breeders (artificially inseminated of course). To keep their line strong. Adi wants out from under her mother’s thumb.
The Story: Adi is sure that Lytropia institute is a front for Theo Parker and Bittech which is now defunct. At the very least she is sure that Lytropia is also doing experiments on shifters and continuing the genetic experiments they were doing at Bittech. She wants to prove it and opens a hair and nail salon near LI and is trying her hardest to get into Dexters pants as a part of her investigation. Though dragons and humans don’t mix, so when her dragon wants to keep him, she doesn’t know what to do.
I got the first three audiobooks in this series on audible plus and I am not sure if it was my mood, the storylines or the narration, but I don’t think I will listen to the next book. I was bored enough where I kept missing parts and I usually really like dragon shifter stories.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via solo narration. It was narrated by Chandra Skye. She does a fine job but is not one of my favorite narrators. The whisper voice she uses for their inner beasts is not my favorite and I just like male narrators to much to really enjoy an audiobook with only a female narrator.
This heroine is not for everyone. She is self centered, rude and psychotic. She came on extremely hard and I loved it. Without an ounce of modesty, she stalks her man and doesn't hesitate to take what's hers and even what's not.
Adi was something different in a world of timid, weak, and down on their luck heroines. Dexter was a great hero. He's a nerd but he also has an espionage/kick butt side. His history and background is where the book loses stars. I didn't read the first book, but it sucked not learning more about Dex's set of skills and how he got them.
I also hated that abrupt ending. We get an epilogue but I wanted to see their lives together.
I won't be reading the other books because Eve Langlais just doesn't do it for me, but if you want to read something where the heroine has all the advantages and loves to chase her prey, I would strongly recommend this.
Dragons are undercover searching for the madman that outed shifters. What a hoot! This is Adi's story. The second in the series. Irresistibly sarcastic.
Excerpt: "As he pulled to a stop in front of the nail salon, he turned in his seat. "Are you sure you want to go in today?" "What else would I do? I have no television in my room, and besides, weren't you the one who you said it was nothing?" Leaving her here, though, didn't sit right with him. But what else could he do? Toss her in his trunk for the day? He didn't have the right kind of rope, and the weather forecast wasn't quite right for kidnapping and confinement." Excerpt from Dragon Squeeze by Eve Langlais.
Dragon Squeeze is the second book in the Dragon Point series. This was fun, hot, sexy, and great escapism. I liked the lead characters a lot, and their banter was excellent. I would definitely recommend to paranormal romance fans looking for a distraction for the afternoon.
Eve Langlais' audiobooks are perfect for me to pick up on a Saturday when I'm cleaning the house and running errands. The 6 hour length is the perfect amount of time to keep me busy and distracted from the mundane tasks and unpleasant chores. And... dragons! Langlais' dragons are arrogant, self-absorbed, obsessive, matriarchal and funny!
Adi Silvergrace is a silver dragon, twin to Aimi, who was the heroine of the first book of the series, Becoming Dragon. Adi is a little more trendy than Aimi was... with pastel-hued hair and a nose ring to offset her lithe form and fiery green eyes. Much like Aimi, Adi is single-minded, obsessed with her hoard (and twinkies), and trying to escape the fate of all unmarried female dragons of a certain age. She was a fun, if shallow, heroine.
Dexter Kline is an uncommonly large tech guy. I had a hard time picturing a man of his size cast into the role of tech geek who still lives with his mother... but there is more to Dex than meets the eye. He is a hacker-for-hire and doesn't quite know how to handle the pink-haired dynamo that won't take no for an answer. I liked Dex and and his grudging acquiescence to Adi's determination. He was somewhat mysterious, and I would have liked more of his back story to learn exactly who and what he was. There are hints in the story, but I don't think his true profession was ever fleshed out (or maybe I got distracted and missed it).
Adi believes that Bittech and Parker are still up to their old tricks, experimenting on humans and shapeshifters alike for dastardly purposes. She is convinced that the Lytropia Institute is a cover for Parker, and she is determined to discover their secrets. Cozying up to the human IT guy for Lytropia is a bonus - especially since he would make such a yummy addition to her hoard. Adi came on to Dex very strong, and he was able to resist her at first. But things heated up quickly and he found himself seduced by the assertive woman, despite knowing that something wasn't quite right. I thought the relationship was fun and the banter was funny at times... but don't expect a lot of emotional depth with these books. There is steam and humor, but not much emotional connection. I don't think the dragons are capable of much emotion, other than greed and superiority.
The story kept me entertained and I was looking forward to the investigation of Lytropia. However I felt the conflict resolution of this story was weak, and the story felt unfinished. I hope that the next installment provides some continuation of the story arc to resolve this issue.
Chandra Skyye is a good narrator - she is able to switch between male and female voices with ease... and she pulls off the snark very well. I have listened to a few series she has narrated and I never have any complaints.
I recommend this book to fans of dragons, paranormal romance and light fun reads. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook that I received from the publisher, Tantor Audio.
Adi Silvergrace. A name that sparks awe with a tinge of fear into the human masses as she is known as as an affluent do gooder of the world with enough clout to get away with most anything. Those in the paranormal world however know that, as the premier dragon shifter family, no one messes with a silver and lives to tell about it.
Dexter Kline is a certifiable IT geek. Porn to him includes complex coding, hacking, and state of the art & dark web technology though one irritating obnoxious female is making it tough to do more than picture the two of them in a different kind of porn. Either way he needs to keep his head in the game and concentrate on his current employer Lytropia Institute who is hiding potentially illegal and immoral activity he intends to expose.
On of my favorite go to authors who delivers fun adult stories with HAWT adult content romance. This series features my fav shifters: dragons.
The core of the book is a running series plot driven story line that deals with the fall out from Parker exposing the existence of paranormals. This effectively shut down Bittech (who was illegally experimenting on paranormal beings) though it seems Lytropia Institute may have ties to Bittech.
This story features Dex & Adi, two opposites though they have more in common than you'd think. Can't help but love Adi, a dragon shifter, who does not understand the concept of "no" as whatever she wants she gets or steals or does or ... well, you get the idea. In this case she wants the secrets behind LI (Lytropia Institute) and their human IT tech, Dex. Multitasking, Adi decides on both. The reverse cat & mouse chase results in hilarious scenes punctuated with hot adult content driven romance between the two.
The cast of secondary characters adds a lot to the story though Dex and Adi's mothers are stand outs. Can't say much about how these two influence the story/romance without possible spoilers so lets just say that the author accurately captured the essence of adult children mothers everywhere. Other standouts include Dr. Chandra Kashmir (who will be featured in Dragon Unleashed (Dragon Point #3) by Eve Langlais), Mrs. Givry (gives c*ckblocking a whole new dimension), Calvin, and various other family & friends round out the world building and add depth to the story.
The problematic areas of the story deal more with follow through and voids that had me scratching my head. Non-spoiler example is a running pet name issue that pops up throughout the story. Had me anxious to know what the end result would be. In the totality of the story details matter to me and not being complete in all ways is frustrating.
Ultimately this is a fun light hearted snarky sort of read that pulls in one determined assertive female dragon and human comic book loving IT genius level geek to acknowledge a common denominator (love of Adi) with an ancillary romance factor that ends in either a HEA or total anarchy. Not to be taken seriously this story entertains the reader while providing a platform of hot toe curling sex to compliments the story. All in all a win for Eve Langlais fans.
The heroine's humongous self-confidence and sometimes bizarre behavior in this paranormal romance was entertaining but was getting a bit repetitious then about midway the action picked up finishing with an enjoyable story. Dragon Adi is investigating a shady business when she crosses paths with geeky IT human Dextor.
Good story! At first, I didn't really like Adi and couldn't see her and Dex together because hello, he's human! But by the end, Adi worked her magic on me and they were like ying and yang!
Adi really is not one for understanding the word no, it's like it doesn't exist in her vocabulary and if I'm being completely honest, or I should say if Dex is completely honest the man doesn't really mind, “again with that nasty use of the word no. I don’t get it. Are you saving yourself for marriage? I can respect that. We can always just indulge in oral instead.” Thank God for loose pants and a table." Dex honestly does not stand a chance when it comes to Adi and her mind being made up, “no, I’ll tell you what has to stop. It’s you, pretending you’re not totally into me. We both know you’re hot for me. I can see it.” His boxer shorts, worn for comfort to bed, displayed to perfection his interest." I loved this book, and I'm eager for the next one.
Eve Langlais is always either a miss or a hit for me and sadly, this leans towards the former. I think Eve Langlais is one of the very few writers who for me, can pull off the h chasing the H and can execute it well, this had the h chasing the H BUT, there was way, way too much pushing from the hero. All the pursuing and sacrificing was done by the heroine and it got to a point where I just wanted her to move on with somebody else. The hero does go and save her in the end(which wasn't even a big heroic thing since she was just in her house)and it was so blah, it didn't do anything to erase my annoyance at him, there should have been more of him showing his love for her. This would easily have been 4STARS if the hero was a better one.
I love this series. Adi and Dexter cracked me up. Dexter is a IT computer geek loves the quiet lives at home with his mama and is so dang sexy. Adi is a Silvergrace dragon the world revolves around her and what she wants. When a new company pops up and has Bittech stink all over it Adi is on a mission. Her way in one very sexy squeezable human male Dex. When Dex literally throws Adi out of his bed cause she's on his comics he wonders where in the world this loud and brass female came from. They don't realize their on the same team. When Adi's dragon decides to keep Dex for her hoard Adi has to work hard to claim him. Dexter doesn't want anything to do with the crazy lady who can't take no for an answer so why does he feel the need to protect her and do so many naughty things to her. When trouble comes knocking they'll have to work together to save each other.
4.5 stars. Adi and Dexter, what a strange but fun pairing. A great fun read. Once again we get the genius that is Ms Langais giving us a fun, quirky and laugh out loud book with characters you wish you were friends with. To Adi, the word NO does not exist and poor Dex is in her sights. I loved the carrying on and chemistry between these two. Bittex has returned under another name and needs to be stopped. I had a feeling there was more to Dex than we first meet and I loved how this story played out. Adi was insane but in a clearly fun, the world revolves around me way. Seems typical of this group of dragons.
Once again Eve Langlais does not disappoint. Fast witty remarks. A rebellious female dragon and a hot human geek romance with plenty of action. Great reading a strong female lead that doesn't need a man to save her but an equal by her side. Add a non traditional hoard and crazy relatives to the story to make a very quick read that you don't want to put down. Only problem is that the story seems short since the characters are so much fun to read. Can't wait until June for the next story!
The heroine is way too much sexually aggressive, it became tiresome. As for almost all EL's feminine characters she doesn't listen to anyone, but she doesn't say she's the center of the universe as much as her twin in the first volume. The plot doesn't move forward much, and we're left with more questions than answers.
My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.
I’ve really enjoyed all of these shifter “Point” books that Eve Langlais has written. It starts with Kodiak Point with Alaskan shifters, including a moose and caribou. Then she spins off to Bitten Point, which has crocs and pythons. Then she spins off to this Dragon Point series, where we get dragons. I know that sounds like a lot, but each series does stand alone. I would recommend starting with book one for whichever series you want to try, but each series stands alone from the others. You will pick up some Easter eggs from the previous series and there are some minor characters that carryover. If you want to read about really funny shifters, Eve Langlais is your girl.
So in the first book, we learned that dragons exist and that the other shifters are out to the humans. Dragons are still in hiding. They still remember the ages of knights that liked to hunt them down. They are just now getting their numbers back to where they feel they should be. However, there are still some rules in place to keep those numbers up. If a female doesn’t have a mate before their 28th birthday, they will be forced to live with the female head of their clan and get artificially inseminated to produce the next generation. In the first book, we watched as Aimi found her mate with someone from Bitten Point. Now it is her twin sister’s turn.
Adi is quite the hacker. She is looking into a company called Lytropia Institute. She’s convinced that they are just Bittech in disguise and that they are doing tests on shifters and humans. She also has a bit of infatuation with the IT guy there. Little did she realize (at least until later), that he was looking into the company too.
Dex is a hacker for hire. He’s really good at his job. That is until a little someone distracts him. He tries his best to hold her off, but it only works for so long. She keeps trying to come up with a pet name for him, but he has as comeback for every name she uses.
This was another fun installment of this series. I love Eve Langlais. Again, I would read this series starting with book one, Becoming Dragon. There is an overall story arc for each series that makes it very helpful to read in order (again, each of these “Point” series can be read as stand alone).
Narration Chandra Skyye has been narrating these series from the beginning. Actually, the first book I ever listened to her narrated was the first Kodiak Point book. She’s done several of Eve’s series since then. While I don’t love her, I think she does a good job. She voices male and female character well. She doesn’t have a large pool of voices to choose from, so if you listen to several series close together, you will hear her reusing voices, but not within the same book. I would also like someone who brought out more of the humor of these stories. I have gotten used to her and would think it was weird to change narrators at this point.
**I like to thank the publisher for providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
What to say, what to say. In my review of the first book I said that it took a while to get into the story but this book managed to drag me in right from the start. With the first few pages spewing with espionage and mysteries this story was ripe for the pickings by anyone who is a paranormal romance lover, a mystery lover or anyone who just wants to find out where all of the companies are going or if LI is just a front. Adi is a women on a mission. She wants to find out where the hell the madman has gone and what is happening to all of his businesses that seem to be disappearing overnight. When she goes from being seemingly bored to almost being crushed and blown-up she is ready for her next mission to find the man that outed all supernatural beings to humans. Her next mission is to find out what the hell LI is up to, and the best way to do that is seduce. That is where the sexy brained Dexter comes into play. Dexter is hacker extraordinaire. He doesn't have time for a frustrating women who is so gorgeous he cant get her off his mind. He needs to complete this job so he can move on to the next. So why wont this little pixie of a women leave him be? And why does she seem to be something more, something not quite human. He has spent a big chunk of his life trying to help people and now he kind of wants to help her but he needs to complete his mission. Plus it doesn't help she doesn't know who he truly is either. This was a good story packed with battle of wills and wits, action, romance, intrigue, and paranormal creatures. I would recommend this book as well as this author. There is sex in this story and not all of it takes place in side of a bedroom. Get ready for intrusive mothers and family members, as well as some great action scenes, and not just of the fighting variety. ~A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection
* You need to read the first entry to enjoy this story.
Adi is looking for Parker's secret lab and for that she needs to seduce the head IT guy. What she doesn't know is that the IT guy himself is also prying around and trying to find out all the secrets. When they start working together they finally will to draw out Parker, but will they find the lab and the golden Dragon? And will they be able to make their love work?
Pro's: + The story is a bit more complex than the first one, which is not a negative. It has a bit more depth and the setting becomes a bit more clear than before. + The world feels more alive in this book than this book. Maybe it is because it is more set in the city than in isolated locations, but t is definitely a big plus.
Con's: - Again I find the female herione way too annoying. Sadly, this one doesn't redeem herself at the end and if this girl was a real person I would smack her in the face.... with a chair.
I want to like these books so much ( as it took them a really long time to arrive), but so far i'm a bit disappointed everytime I read one. This one is again set in a world that is really great and the Dragons are awesome but the female leads are so incredibly unlikeable. Well, maybe the next one will be better.
Adi is her septs tech genius and she has a gut feeling Bittech is still up to it's nastiness. And she's determined to find them. Dex is the IT guy for a medical research facility Adi has her suspicions about, planning on using Dex to find a way in she doesn't expect to want him.
Oh my, these two together are amazing. Adi drives Dex wild, purposely, and it's so entertaining to read. He's in way over his head. She has the same "the world revolves around me" attitude I came to love from the first book. The way she stumps Dex at times with her words and innuendos has me laughing and pitying the poor guy all at the same time. As a cute addition to the book Ms Langlais had included some pretty giggle worthy hashtags. And as a side note I've never wanted the demise of the 'bad guy' so badly as I do with this series.
Book two in the Dragon Point series brings us Adi’s story. With her twin happily mated, the clock continues to wind down on wild child Adi. If she isn’t mated by 28, she’ll be stuck at her mother’s will. When she runs across Dexter, his human geekiness drives her wild. Too bad he’s not dragon – and lives with mommy! However Adi has never been one to do what she’s told. She’ll just need to figure out a way to work around her mother’s edicts.
Dex is working on his own investigations, and when Adi shows up in his room, it throws him for a loop. He feels the need to protect her, all while wanting to devour her. What will Dex do when he realizes she really is a dragon? What will Adi do when she discovers her shy geek isn’t what she thinks he is? What will happen when she runs out of Twinkies? Let’s hope we don’t have to find out on that last part!!
Have it in audio The author Eve knows how to draw you in with her stories. She has a very distinct style . And this audio is no different. It’s a treasure. Book 2 in the series . Hero is Dexter. Heroine is Ali. A dragon shifter part of the silver clan . Ali is a dragon shifter. She also has a twin who is completely different then her. Ali is more trendy. . More modern clothes . More up to date Den and Ali meet when Ali has some snooping to do. Ali still thinks there are companies out there that test on humans and paranormal shifters . Ali is determined to sniff them out and burn them. . She needs someone to help her. Who better then Dex who is a IT hacker . Dex at the time doesn’t give in to her advances. Does Ali find the company who is testing on them and does she get Dex to give in to her advances
I have really started to like Chandra style of saying the story
“But, apparently, kidnapping food truck owners to cook for her at any time of day was considered confinement. Humans and their laws-such spoilsports.”
“Again with the nasty use of the word no. I don’t get it…”
“Don’t play with humans. Until you’re ready to eat them. They’re easily traumatized, which sours the mean.” They also bruised like peaches. It was why she wasn’t allowed to play dodgeball once she hit puberty. Cry babies.
But what else could he do? Toss her in his truck for the day? He didn’t have the right kind of rope, and the weather forecast wasn’t quite right for kidnapping and confinement.
“You can’t make people disappear.” “You’re right. I can’t.” She then proceeded to give him an exaggerated wink.
It's review time 🎧 Warning ⚠️: shifters, experience, from alligator to dragon i will refer to this series as a whole because I listened to it as such.
Narrator score🎧 ; the narrator was good, she kept a great voice during the whole series.
Level of steam🔥: each book was quite hot, you had some slower pace and some faster but overall it was hot.
Level of anxiety and sadness😱😢: well you had some drama in some books more and in some less.... I couldn't feel a lot of sadness because the stories went in a fast pace but you had some drama.
The book itself📖: I think this series was fun. Its a world of shifters that was already created and its an after series so to speak... the first book reviled us a new species and the dragons world was quite interesting indeed, you had some interesting characters in this series. The first couple was cute and so were the others. A very nice series indeed
So book 2 was about the silver dragon’s twin sister from book 1. She’s a hacker and like her sister she knows what & who she wants, in this book it was a human man who was also a hacker basically on the same mission as her.
It was funny like book 1 and the spice was actually better! I love that the females in this series are so kick ass! I wish they would have worked together rather than ended up sabotaging anything they would have found out.
She ends up mating with him and getting pregnant which is all well and fine but reader ms are left wondering if he’s now a shifter or something since he was kidnapped by the mad scientist and injected with something… I need answers!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This one was all but unreadable. None of the characters were likable aside from Dexter and the Scientist who gave him the tip. The heroine was way too pushy and narcissistic and both her family and his are complete nightmares. The villain is one-dimensional, and nothing was accomplished in the over all series plot. I hope the next one is better since I bought it at the same time as this one, so I'm committed. :p
This book is not as good as the first book. I think it is because Adi was so annoying. There is something about her that drove me nuts. She was hot to taught and that is something that I am not okay with for a heroine. I am going to continue the series but I really hope that the series gets better. I normally love everything that Eve Langlais writes but this is a bit of sad that I did not like this.
Welcome to another installment of find the mad scientist.
Who doesn't love a rebel?
Cheeky, gorgeous, totally insane? Adi is every one of those and more. Dex doesn't know what to make of her at first, but there's no denying he is intrigued by her.
Now I have to keep reading to see what is going to happen to the dragons, the science experiment victims and, most importantly, I have to know who was in the deep dark hole!
These two were a lot of fun, and not only because of Adi’s wit, but also because of Dex’s begrudging willingness with which he went along with Adi. Lots of mystery to solve in the book, and all the heat between these two. These two made me laugh out loud a few times, made me tear up a couple too, and kept me, and each other, on their toes!
Slowwwww start but keep going I promise it gets better. It’s nice to see a man playing hard to get instead of the woman for once. I love this series. I am glad that someone made a comment that this is a spinoff from the bitten series so I went back to listen to that series first and now I have more background on the story.
