This is one of the most memorable books of my childhood. The illustrations were gorgeous, the story was moving, and most importantly it served its purpose to help me get through the deaths of both my dogs when I was 4 and 6 years of age.

This is a perfect book for a child losing a pet, a treasured family member. Death is a hard subject for kids, but this simple story makes everything seem less bleak.
