Ellie is a voracious storyteller and a lover of words and all things bookish. She believes that stories have the ability to transport and transform us. With over forty published novels and counting, her goal is to tell stories that provide points of connection, escape, and understanding.
She loves inhabiting someone else’s skin through the pages of a book and is passionate about helping writers find their unique storytelling lens. As a writing teacher and coach, she guides writers in crafting the story they’ve always wanted to tell while navigating the path to publication that’s right for them.
For some reason I thought it was going to be short stories and not a few chapters of authors books being published. No issue though! I like this idea. It's introducing authors and giving you a snippet of their current series. It's introduced me to series I probably would have only glanced at. I thought each one of these intros were interesting and plan out seeking some of them out.
These stories are different for me. They are good, just different. I picked one to share. It is one, I would call, a story starter or book 1 that sets you up for book 2. Dog Dish of Doom by EJ Copperman Bruno is a dog auditioning for a part in a play which will soon turn into a movie. Kay Powell is her agent/lawyer. Trent and Loise are her caregivers who think they found their money maker. Les is the Broadway director who does not like Trent and Loise and he is having it written in the contract that they are to be no where around the set during rehearsal. Trent and the Director had a shouting match at the audition of Bruno. The next day Kay was reading the Times and found an article titled, Manhattan Man Found with Face in Dog Dish. Why did this interest her? This is only one of the stories in this book that is stuffed full of goodness. Enjoy choosing the ones that interest you. I know I did.
This was a good book of mystery sample story's. It gives you a good idea about different authors and their new book. Helping to peak your Interest in reading their mysteries. A really big help because they give you a short read on each of their books to help you decide to read them. A good way to get an idea about new mysteries. Debra H.
If you like cozies and want to find an author you like, try out this book. It gives just enough of each author to let you make up your mind if you want to read more of that person's writing. I found a few new (to me) authors I want to read more of.
This sampling of current cozies allowed me to pick a few to read further. Looking forward to reading them. It also allowed me to try authors that I thought I might enjoy but found I did not care for the characters or the setting.
I wanted to do a less than one star rating but it wouldn't let me. Gave up after the sixth story. Ending up in the air is NOT for me. I deleted the book.
