Seriously Gray? You need to be with other women beside Annie? Way to go dude, you're now another asshole. And for the love of God why was Annie so hooked on drugs? The girl seemed more interested in her next fix than Gray. (Not that I blame her but help yourself girlfriend)
Would I recommend this? No way Jose. I can't stand cheating in ANY FORM.

Bound (Bound Duet #1) by Stephie Walls
4.5 stars!!!
Stephie Walls has just put me through the emotional wringer and Freed cannot come quick enough. Stephie Walls is a supremely talented writer and was incredibly brave to put together a story that encompasses quite a lot of peoples top two peeves. If you do not like cheating in any form, this is not the book for you, if you take issue with a broken woman being a doormat, this is not for you either, but I beg you to take a chance, because this book was unputdownable and I inhaled every single word. The angst and the emotion were complete winners for me and while I desperately wanted to batter these two people, many, many, times, their toxic relationship was like crack and I was the junkie who willing went along for the ride.
I am not going to go into details at all, because this was a journey for both characters right from the very beginning and I desperately want everyone to experience the ride for themselves. You need to experience the highs and the lows for yourself because it is this rollercoaster of emotions that makes this the story that it is. There was a lot of anger, but there was a lot of love too, but it is these two opposites that fan the flames.
Gray and Annie were soul mates and even after everything that transpired in this book, the hopeless romantic within me wants these two to make it. But, and this is a huge but, sometimes you have to let your head rule. My head tells me that these two are toxic together, without a doubt these two love each other, heart, body and soul but sometimes you can love someone too much. Their love is toxic, the kind that burns like a mother fucker and decimates everything and everyone in its wake. Your heart sees the love that they have for one and other and yet your head and your eyes read the way Gray treats her and has you questioning…does he love her at all? This is not love.
My emotions were in a perpetual quandary reading this book, a constant battle of heart v head, heart v head, heart v head. The emotional battering at the pen of Stephie Walls was masterful and left me a reeling mess by the end. I lived and breathed this journey with Annie and Gray, I experienced those highs, highs that made my heart swell, highs that made me fall hopelessly in love with this couple but then the lows brought that all crashing down in one hopelessly crushed pile of emotions. How can something so good, be so bad?
I adored Annie, even though her coping mechanisms left a lot to be desired I understood, a little. Annie’s relationship with Gray, again, I could understand, but I didn’t agree with. Annie was a fiercely independent woman, but her past had left their scars, bone deep ones and it is this connection with her past that had a huge bearing on her present and Gray took advantage of that whether it was intentional or not.
I’m still on the fence with Gray, he is still a little bit of an enigma, a Jekyll and Hyde character, and one that I desperately want to understand more. I am sure that he has been economical with the truth or maybe omissions, but there must be something to make him the way he is. There is more to this story or at least I hope there is. Whether these two are right for each other remains to be seen, but I cannot wait for the ride, somehow, I feel that Bound has been a rollercoaster for kids and the big upside down, loop the loop one is still to come with Freed…would Stephie Walls be that cruel?

Bound by Stephie Walls is the first part of her Bound Duet. This emotional tale is beyond heartbreaking and frustrating to read at times but essential to the journey. Annie is broken from events in her past things that no one should ever experience and throws herself into school and work in hopes to forget. Men and relationships are the last things Annie is looking for but when a beautiful stranger at work sweeps her off her feet and won't take no for an answer. Told in Annie's POV you'll watch this young woman become a strong soul after putting up with events most of us would have thrown in the towel long before. There are so many times I wanted to shake some sense into Annie and throat punch Grey along this journey but I was glued to this story - wanting, no needing to know what happens next! 4.5 Stars for Bound by Stephie Walls

Bound by Author Stephie Walls is book one in the Bound Duet. It is a contemporary romance novel originally released in 2014. However, it has been completely re-written and formatted.
Annie has felt pain that is so deep she never thought she would find her way out of it. Because of this, she is blinded to men. Until Gray. He captures her eye and her heart, forming an unbreakable bond.
I was seized by the prologue of this story. Who does that? On the day of their wedding! Who? One of the characters skillfully formed my Author Stephie Walls. I just knew that this story was going to be an ugly cry of epic proportions.
"It's just a dance. I won't bite you."
From the first moment that Annie met Gray Dearsley, I was a complete goner. A warehouse worker was never so hot. This man melted plastic just by being near it. Their initial interactions gave the perception that he would be the man to heal her wounds and give her hope. Annie was such a kind and forgiving young woman. I NEEDED for her to have a man that cherished her and treated her like the treasure that she was.
“You ain’t seen nothing yet, baby. I’m just getting warmed up. Now that you’ve let me in get ready. I’m insatiable. The more you scream, the more I want you. I’ve never heard a woman cry out like you did, and it was hot.”
I came undone with how insanely hot certain scenes were in this novel. I was swept up in the passion and intimacy that Gray and Annie had together, and there were moments that I panted right along side of them. Love was in the air, lust was in the libido, and sexy had never been so well written.
"Our bodies had become one with no end, and my heart got tangled in the embrace. The love and passion coursing through me were far greater than anything I’d ever experienced..."
One of the things I love the most about a book by this author is that you cannot read her words and find a lack of emotional connection. These sentiments rolled from the page straight into my soul and spilled out in tears, laughter, sadness, and delight. The uncertainty of a future for Annie and Gray, secrets that were too deep to reveal, and a mysterious undertone kept these feelings exposed until the final scene.

I ended the last page of Bound by flipping open the first page of Freed, because a good love story can't wait.

"But sometimes, we cling to toxic relationships, and they derail an otherwise successful life. And even the smartest of women can be the most foolish in love."
This book was a mess. Not even a good type of mess, but the type of mess that is similar to a train-wreck in which you slow down in your car to watch. Bound was just that. A train-wreck. There was WAY too much going on and it wasn't even organized or purposeful to the story. With the combination of drugs, lying, indecisiveness, sex, and infidelity, it was truly all over the place while never actually executing the actual plot at hand.
Which brings me to my next point: there was no plot. You could dig out your magnifying glass and you wouldn't even find an underlying or hidden one. Annie's drug use was inexcusable. Gray's obsession with having his cake and eating it too was exhausting and ridiculous and beyond all of that, it was all just a mess. One big hot mess with no actual direction or meaning.
"We were bound by a love I’d never known before and doubted would ever exist for me again."
Another thing that really drove me crazy was the fact that the author romanticized the abuse. Physical, emotional, mental, all of it. When a story does that, I lose all type of interest in it. It's not romantic in any way and when an author tries to force that on me it's a waste of time. You can't make me like the guy or the girl who is doing the abusing, it won't happen. I'm not sorry. The heroine (and author) kept giving excuses to Gray but he was a piece of shit. Bottom line. There was no excuse any of these people could have given me to make it all okay to me and to make me like him. No redemption, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00. BYE.
I didn't feel any sort of connection with these characters nor did I feel any empathy or sympathy. At times I felt like Annie really created a lot of her problems and it could have easily been solved with some communication. Or by simple walking away. The push and pull between the two characters wasn't "angsty" or "fun" in my honest opinion. It was annoying and over-done.
I didn't think the book would ever end, but I couldn't stop reading it (hence the two stars). With it's inconsistent story line, random time jumps, depressing tone (and not in a good way), I lost a day of my life that I won't ever get back.

This book is a hell of a wild ride !!
Meet Annie and Gray.
Annie is a 20 year old college student who works full time at a consulting firm.
And there is Gray. He´s 27 year and works at another consulting firm. He leads a carefree playboy and single life, so it seems.
They meet and there are no sparks- there is an epic firework.
They date over the years, then they break up. Gray is hot and cold. He wants no commitment. He completely destroys their relationship; and Annie.
Annie is heartbroken, and so was I.
These two people are soulmates, but their relationship is toxic.
I read Bound in one sitting. I couldn´t put this book down. I had to know where this unhealthy relationship lead the characters to.
This book has it all, all the feelings - love, hate, heartbreak, pain and hurt. Friends and enemies.
My jaw hit the flor and I was speechless. Literally speechless. Now I´m sitting here with a huge bookhangover and wait till the next installment Freed releases.

This is a romance novel that is unlike anything I have ever read before.
First of all, let me say that Stephie is clearly a VERY talented writer. She conveys thoughts, feelings and emotions very well with the written word. I would be interested to read her books outside of this series.
The love scenes were SMOKING HOT, and I found myself experiencing a wide range of emotions while reading the story as a whole.
That being said:
Annie is a girl with lots of qualities; driven, confident, physically attractive. And a drug addict.
Gray, similarly, has lots of qualities; a user, liar, cheater, manipulator. And a physically attractive alpha.
Next, let me say that is is a cliffhanger.
Reaching the end and finding it to be said cliffhanger, I understand more why the author drew out certain parts of the story as she did, seeing now that they didn't need to be wrapped up before the end of the book.
I have to admit that, while the book is well-written for the most part, it was not my cup of tea. I found myself getting angry at the characters and the story line, and thinking (out loud, at times), "This is not a romance novel. Where is the happiness in this story?!"
While I am curious to learn what happens with Annie and Gray, I don't think I would read the next book. Personally, I read romance novels to escape. If I wanted to spend my free time drowning in harsh realities such as those depicted in Bound by Love, I would shut off my Kindle and watch the news.
Hopefully the story will continue on an upswing in the next book, Freed, and Annie and Gray can get their "happily ever after."

It took me awhile to wrap my head around Stephie Wall's Bound because it is one of those heart-wrenching novels that you think about for a long time after you consume the very last word. Gut-wrenching, incredibly poignant and deeply touching, Bound tells a love story that will make you question the things that people are willing to do for love and the extent of what one will tolerate in order to hang on to a love that is so powerful and life-changing that it is nearly impossible to let it go.
I am going to be honest here: Bound made my heart bleed. The level of frustration and anger that I experienced while reading Annie and Gray's love story was astronomical and my emotions were in such a tizzy that I had a hard time finishing this book. I had to take breaks while I was reading because I got so wrapped up in these characters and some of the crazy events that occur between this couple. Even so, I could not look away because the author tells a tale that is filled with such tremendous passion that I was inevitably forced to continue.
The prologue grabbed my attention immediately. My jaw dropped and my eyes nearly bugged out of my head before I literally shed tears. For me, it represents the essence of the title "Bound," because it showcases the fact that one can become irrevocably bound by love in spite of the fact that it can become unhealthy, perhaps even toxic.
Annie and Gray experience an immediate spark that singes them both and leads to an epic physical and emotional connection. They run red-hot and then ice cold, and the fall out obliterated everything in its path. There were so many times that I wanted to slap both of these characters; Annie for some of her poor decisions and her inability to remain strong, and Gray for being selfish, manipulative and just plain cruel.
Stephie Walls makes a very powerful statement in the introduction of this book, and it should not be taken lightly. This is one of the most realistic romances that I have ever read and it definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. Trust me when I say that if you are looking for fluff or a "feel good" romance then you should skip this one because Bound hits hard and you will FEEL it bone deep, right where it hurts.
Bound is a wild ride, and after I finished it I immediately started Freed, part two in the duet. I am not sure where this journey will take me, but after the way that Bound ended I HAVE to know what happens next.
Should you read Bound? I think so, because Stephie Wall's story-telling ability is out of this world and the overall message that I gleaned from this prolific tale left me shaken and contemplative. This is a novel that will make you think and evaluate your own personal stand on several issues when it comes to love and relationships.
I say READ it, if you dare!!!!

Should you read Bound? I think so, because Stephie Wall's story-telling ability is out of this world and the overall message that I gleaned from this prolific tale left me shaken and contemplative. This is a novel that will make you think and evaluate your own personal stand on several issues when it comes to love and relationships.

Holy heartbreak! My heart still hurts on this one and I honestly cannot say where this story is going to go. At this moment, I’m a little torn in pieces and my heart wants one thing and my head wants the other. As you can see this story is part of a duet and Bound is the first installment. Freed is the second installment and wanting to grab it now to see if I can feel my heart again. You are going to go on one heck of a ride while reading this book. You will cry, scream, want to destruct right with Annie and want to smack Gray for his behavior. I highly suggest you read the authors note before reading this book and will say please give it a chance. You may not agree with some of the events, but this book is very real and I think many people may be able to relate to this story one way or another. When you have a relationship full of fireworks and passion, but lacking that security and love one person truly needs you need to ask yourself should you stay or go?
Annie is a 20-year-old college student, works full time and is recovering from a traumatic past while in high school. She meets Gray who is older than her and the fireworks explode even before she knows his name. He is separated from his wife when they meet. Oh, there’s a doozy that explodes here and left me speechless! Gray wants his cake and eats it too, but he needs to understand life doesn’t work this way. He’s hot and cold, he wants Annie and then he doesn’t want Annie. Annie will love him like no other women ever can or could, but their relationship is beyond toxic. Soulmates are not always meant to be together! Now there is a twist here and you will cry and feel like your heart is on burning coal (hint hint) when Annie suffers another loss. This poor girl could never catch a break! First in high school, then Gray and then her school and family.
There are so many emotions going on while reading this story- love, betrayal, heartbreak and for a moment healing. Gray not only destroys Annie, he destroys us. We meet someone who may be the healing factor Annie needs, but do you choose security or passion when it comes to love. I don't care what time it is, or the day of the week because everytime a new book from this author enters my Kindle I need to start reading asap. I know that every person who have read her books thinks just like me and if you want to find out why just grab her books and start reading. I'll guarantee you that you will not want to stop.
Stephie Walls has a simple, intense and breathtaking writing that will hook you up from the first chapter because every book has the same intensity and the same love poured out.

This book tells Annie's life and struggles.
Annie is a college student that works in a consulting firm. She just wants to get her degree and move on. She's a confident woman without being cocky but behind that facade hides a wounded girl with so much pain hidden away that sometimes she can't deal with it. She don't want to be involved in a serious relationship mainly because she was severely hurt in the past but sometimes we can't choose what happens, and I'm not going to say another word about this because I don't spoil so go get it.

Bound (Bound Duet 1) by Stephie Walls is an angst love story about growth.
The book starts out with Annie a 20 year old full-time college student and full time worker and Gray a 26 year old worker at DC. Gray is instantly attracted to Annie leaving her notes, pursuing her, trying to find out the littlest detail about her. Eventually Annie gives in a starts dating Gray which would later be her biggest mistake. Annie is a damaged character after dealing with a traumatic relationship from high school which scared her.
The book takes place over 3 years and a couple months, Annie at the beginning of the book was quite and naïve, at the end she was a confident heroine who was no longer going to be a pushover or an outlet for abuse. Gray was not the loving hero Annie deserved, but the author did such a good job in drawing you into what Annie was feeling. Annie believed Gray was her soulmate that the timing was just off but she would love him and wait for him. Gray loved Annie in his own twisted was which the author did a good job of explaining at the end.
I read this book in one day considering it is very long and full of slow burning angst. I normally love a good romance that is sweet with a redeeming hero. This was not one of those books this is a dark romance with a lot of topics that may seem dark to the reader. My reasoning for the 5 stars is this was a book that was believable in life, no romances are sweet and fluffy. First loves can damage a person way of thinking towards other relationships which is was happened with Annie and Gray.
If your wondering is Annie and Gray get a happy ending? Does Annie move on to a new love?
Pick up the book and find out, it is worth the read.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for an emotional read and looking to take a journey with a heroin to find herself.

Goodness what did I just read?!?!?!
My angst level is so high I feel like I want to go and jump off a cliff!
This kind of book always kills me - I feel like I am going through this. I don't want to love the characters but I do. I feel like my heart has been ripped open and left on the floor.
The author gave a warning before the book about Annie - but I did have that hatred of a stupid woman for her. My heart is still leaping out of my chest for her! And don't get me started on Gray! Dear God, I hate him! Yet I love him so much and I want him to get his act together so badly!
All I can say is thank goodness the second book is already out so I do not have to wait!

Frustrated beyond words
Gray I just want to strangle you! Annie, I have no words for you but to wake up and realize your worth. Damn! This story was like no other story I have read. I'm in knots over this. On one hand I wanted Gray to man up and for Annie to overcome her depression and dependency on Gray. On the other hand I wanted Annie to cut all ties with him and find someone who will love her like she is meant to be loved. Thank God I don't have to wait for Freed!

Annie Teasman is known as a problem solver with her work at Walton's. She can figure out why companies are having trouble with certain things yet she has trouble figuring out her own life. She tries to successfully manage her job and school while keeping men at a distance after a painful past.
Gray Dearsley is a weekend shift supervisor at DC when he first sees Annie and knows he wants to make her his. But Gray has his own complications in his life, namely his separation from his wife.
As Annie and Gray begin to get closer, Annie's carefully guarded life soon becomes attached to Gray and soon she finds herself depending upon him more and more. But is Gray willing to give Annie what she needs to allow her the control she needs in her life? Will their respective vices cause their downfall or will they be able to overcome everything that lies in their way?
Wow - this book was so much more than I can even explain!
I loved Annie and all her demons. I must admit that I didn't like that she did drugs but it seemed to fit her character and the need to numb herself and escape from everything in her past. Annie portrays a level of control in her life yet it was an illusion of perfection that could crumbling down at any moment.
I loved Annie's friendship with Jenny and then Scarlett with how much they supported her when she needed them. I was super sad with what ended up happening with one as you knew deep down that it wasn't going to last with everything.
Annie's past with Will was so devastating and I hated how Annie blamed herself for everything. I understood her blame and glad that she was eventually able to start workign through everything.
Gray was such a complicated character as at times I did really like him and at other times I completely hated him. I was so mad when Annie started learning the truth about everything and the timing on it all. Gray could be the most considerate man in the world and then he could be the biggest ass in the whole world. I was blown away when he made certain choices that destroyed Annie.
The book ends in a bit of a cliffhanger and I am terrified on what Annie is going to do. I know what I want her to do but we'll see if she chooses the same thing!- Rebecca

Main characters: Gray and Annie. Told in alternating POV's.
Gray was twenty-six years old. Annie was twenty. Gray settled too soon in his young life and was having regrets. He missed out on his fun years until Annie enticed him. Annie was the excuse and reason for Gray to leave Abby. Gray turned Annie into a sexual fiend. Gray behaved as a man going through a midlife crisis with a younger girl.
The story was sexually driven. The combination of drugs, sex, and infidelity made this a challenging read.
Gray left a stable life with Abby to enter into an unstable life with Annie.
Annie needed to choose between her drug use and her passion for Gray. Gray needed to choose between his carefree and uncommitted lifestyle with Annie and his solid and stable lifestyle with Abby.
I did not find any connection with these characters nor did I feel any empathy or sympathy. Annie's drug use was inexcusable. Annie found too many excuses for her drug use. Gray's sexual obsession with Annie was typical of a man looking for a younger thrill in life to avoid facing the mature stable decisions in life.
The characters were too eager to overlook their downfalls. Gray knew about Annie's drug use and ignored it until he caught her and then he would snap. Annie knew about Gray's infidelity and ignored it believing she was more deserving or worthy over the other girl.
Both characters made too many excuses for their toxic habits. Gray had no reason to blame Annie's drugs use on himself considering she was using before dating him.
Annie was an emotionally immature character unable to make adult decisions in regards to managing her life. While her character showed strength at work and being able to manage her finances she had a weakness in coordinating her time.
I'm unclear on the direction of these characters. Gray seemed distant only reaching out for a physical sexual connection and I'm sensing Annie wanted more from Gray than playing house.
Gray's friend mentioned to Annie that Gray does not value what he has waiting for him at home and had Annie not quickly dismissed his infidelity she would realize she was his sexual doormat.
Sex scenes be damned, time to skim.
The process for how these two became involved was destructive from the beginning. I had hoped to see improvement but old habits die hard.
Gray was a hypocrite for questioning Annie's drug use when he got drunk almost nightly with his friends.
Grays coping mechanisms were sex and alcohol. Annie's coping mechanisms were sex, coke, and weed.
Annie's inexperience with men and relationships showed through when she sat back and allowed Gray to control her while he questioned her habits. She sat back complaining about Grays behavior yet never questioned him.
The author was trying to tackle too much in this story. The author was reaching for an erotic storyline with the sexplay and sexually driven plot. "There’s playful boyfriend, rough alpha, loving soul mate, porn star, and quick Charlie." Quote from Annie says everything you the reader need to know in regards to the sex scenes that are written. It seems the authors goal was to write out each scene to illustrate the bond these characters had. It proved nothing other than they were sexually compatible.
This was not a love story. This was a toxic relationship built on toxic characters that thought love and sex was enough to survive the coping mechanisms they used in life.
I prefer my characters to have an emotional connection rather than a physical connection. These characters had a disconnect that I'm not understanding. If love was not included I might have understood the need to use each other as a booty call but Annie was waiting for Gray to sow his oats which was not his only problem. Gray was aware that Annie was waiting for him to finish with his independence of doing what he wanted when he wanted.
I'm baffled by these characters. I'm even baffled that an author found this entertaining to write. I understood she was trying to take a different approach at love but why would a woman still want a man who claimed to love her while still wanting to have sex with other people? Not to mention Gray stated from the beginning he was not going to commit to another woman nor marry. So why did he change his mind in the end? This was not a timing concern as indicated.
Annie tolerating Grays behavior reminded me of battered women who got beaten by their husbands and claimed to be sorry. Annie allowed and dismissed Grays infidelity because she claimed her love would bring him back to her.
There was no disputing that these characters enjoyed sex with each other. What was disputable was the way they loved each other. Grays form of love was shown through sex with no commitment. Annie showed her love by allowing him to claim her. Gray came back repeatedly for sex giving the only love he knew how. Annie continued to set him free.

Holy Hell!!! All I can say is thank god I have the second book. That cliffhanger is brutal. The back and forth with Grey and Annie. The connection they have is beautiful and painful. My heart swells with joy and then hurts and aches for Annie. Annie is one strong woman with what she has had to endure and try to overcome. I can’t wait to start the second book to find out if she ends up with Grey or Brett.

First, the cover of Bound to Love is eye-catching, and one of the reason I was drawn to this book. Second, the title speaks volumes in conveying the theme of the struggles between two people who are madly in love. It’s essential when readers are searching for a good book to hit a homerun with these two elements, and the author did just that.
The overall storyline is compelling, realistic and conveys real world challenges of life, love and happiness, and everything else a person deals with in life, from, not only love, but drug use, alcohol and achieving goals. I found myself rooting for Annie, but also yelling at her too. She was her own worst enemy. She didn’t seem to care to respect Gray’s concerns over her drug use. And when he expressed his concerns and then called it quits over it, she didn’t get it. She continued to use. She seemed to be more in love with drugs than Gray. I didn’t see any internal character growth with Annie. It would’ve been nice for her to express more of her feelings rather than holding them in, and to learn to communicate more with Gray.
Now, hot and gorgeous Gray has his own issues. Being in a marriage with his high school sweetheart, he never had the chance to play the field. Before he’s even separated from his wife he has a few dates with Annie. When he finally calls off his marriage, he falls head over heels in love with Annie. But he soon realizes he’s right back into a relationship, and he wants freedom to be single and explore life and other women. I rooted for him too. I yelled and growled through those scenes where he was a total jerk and abused his relationship with Annie.
The two of them together created a passionate, steamy, emotional rollercoaster ride. Despite their flaws, I wanted to see them bound by their love for each other more than just sex. I wanted to be their relationship counselor and help them work things out. Overall, this book kept my interest and my emotions wavering. It ended with somewhat of a cliffhanger, leading to a second book. Maybe there is hope for Gray and Annie?
Even though I enjoyed the story, I wasn’t enamored with the writing. The author has a tendency to tell rather than show. The pacing is slow, and there were instances in the book that repeated. I would’ve like to have more dialogue in the book. For me, forwarding dialogue is what blends all the elements of writing together to create a natural rhythm for the reader and the story.

I didn’t see any internal character growth with Annie. It would’ve been nice for her to express more of her feelings rather than holding them in, and to learn to communicate more with Gray.
Now, hot and gorgeous Gray has his own issues. Being in a marriage with his high school sweetheart, he never had the chance to play the field. Before he’s even separated from his wife he has a few dates with Annie. When he finally calls off his marriage, he falls head over heels in love with Annie. But he soon realizes he’s right back into a relationship, and he wants freedom to be single and explore life and other women. I rooted for him too. I yelled and growled through those scenes where he was a total jerk and abused his relationship with Annie.
The two of them together created a passionate, steamy, emotional rollercoaster ride. Despite their flaws, I wanted to see them bound by their love for each other more than just sex. I wanted to be their relationship counselor and help them work things out. Overall, this book kept my interest and my emotions wavering. It ended with somewhat of a cliffhanger, leading to a second book. Maybe there is hope for Gray and Annie?
Even though I enjoyed the story, I wasn’t enamored with the writing. The author has a tendency to tell rather than show. The pacing is slow, and there were instances in the book that repeated. I would’ve like to have more dialogue in the book. For me, forwarding dialogue is what blends all the elements of writing together to create a natural rhythm for the reader and the story.

I don't care what time it is, or the day of the week because everytime a new book from this author enters my Kindle I need to start reading asap. I know that every person who have read her books thinks just like me and if you want to find out why just grab her books and start reading. I'll guarantee you that you will not want to stop.
Stephie Walls has a simple, intense and breathtaking writing that will hook you up from the first chapter because every book has the same intensity and the same love poured out.
Bound is the first book from the Bound Duet series and oh boy, what a book this was.
Let's just say that the prologue is intense as hell.
This book tells Annie's life and struggles.
Annie is a college student that works in a consulting firm. She just wants to get her degree and move on. She's a confident woman without being cocky but behind that facade hides a wounded girl with so much pain hidden away that sometimes she can't deal with it. She don't want to be involved in a serious relationship mainly because she was severely hurt in the past but sometimes we can't choose what happens, and I'm not going to say another word about this because I don't spoil so go get it.
I'm still shaking. I was supposed to be used to the intensity of her books but this one just overwhelmed me. This story is so intense, so heartfelt, so dramatic that left me damage to the bones. I really wasn't expecting that this story unfolded in the way it did, I thought this would be a book with a few bumps in the road but dayum it was hard drive.
Of course we have a few hot scenes into the mix but the feeling behind each action, behind each word left me anxious.
There were parts of the book that I really wanted to beat the shi... out of the characters but there were others that I wanted to cuddle with them and tell them that everything would work out.
Stephie you really are a mind and heart teaser, because you manage to make my head hurt and my heart beat faster and I love you for that.
I just want to curl into a ball on my couch and start reading the second book.

Words cannot express how I felt
Annie and Gray... they have a connection that is once in a lifetime, but the time is never right. Stephie Walls doesn't just tell you they have this connection she makes you FEEL it. The slow build up, the scorching heat and the power of their love is all encompassing. There were times I would get frustrated with Annie because she was being weak, then I would remember a time in my life when I was that girl. At the time you don't realize you are being weak, you are so in love and hurt so bad you would do anything to fill that void.
I don't do spoilers but I can tell you I felt in this book; hope, love, betrayal, anger, sadness, every emotion is covered. And through their journey, I still find myself rooting for them. I can't believe it, after the s h i t Gray puts her through, but you have to read between the lines and realize that just because Annie is hurting, she isn't without blame herself. I am dying for Freed because at the end of Bound you start to see each of them coming into their own, and I have hope the timing is actually right for them.

Bound by Love by Stephie Walls
I enjoyed this book. I think that the story-line is very believable. It doesn't end like most romance novels, but the reader is not disappointed. Ms. Walls allows the characters and the plot to evolve into an ending that makes sense and then leaves the reader wanting for the sequel. Her dialog and narration are strong, and she manages to keep these true to the two very different characters--Annie and Gray. Annie is very intelligent and well-educated, while Gray is more average and blue-collar--Ms. Walls stays true to these differences when the narration and dialog switch from Annie's perspective to Gray's. For a first-time author, I believe that Ms. Walls could very well have a bright future in writing. I have the feeling that we may see this author widen her horizons in terms of literary genres. It will be interesting to see if she has the passion, creativity, and honesty to reach back in her memories and find the catalyst for some great story-lines to come.

Loved this story! The amount of times I wanted to reach in and shake Annie for not being stronger makes my shoulders hurt but I loved every minute of it.
Bound was a refreshing read these days, especially when most Contemporary Romances Few similar. With a few twists that I clearly didn't see coming, I breezed through! Well done, Stephie!

Painful freaking read. I mean... damn. It hurt my heart and left me an emotional mess at times. My best advice is to make sure you're in the mood for some heavy heartbreak before reading this. Phew! I need some wine.

I started this book because I wanted to read Redemption by this author, and I have a slight OCD issue with series of standalones (I read that the main character in Redemption was introduced in this duet). So, I began the task at reading this duet first.
And I can't express how happy I am. I felt a connection with Annie and Gray's dysfunctional relationship from the start. Their obsession and need for each other paralleled a dysfunctional relationship I had. It was quite eye opening, and I found myself empathetic to their situation, and sympathetic with their friends. Annie spoke to me in a different way than most female leads, and I so needed her to be strong, to show me that it is possible to find yourself outside those dysfunctionalities (is that even a word?!?).
I had never read anything by Stephie Wells, but this made me a fan. I now need to read the next book to see how things resolve themselves.
This was a success! And I can't wait for more!

I don’t think I ever read a book with such toxic characters. For me personally it wasn’t appealing, I was rooting for Annie to find her spine and tell Gray to F off, then live happily ever after with someone else. She had her own issues, but he used everything against her, true manipulation and emotional abuse.
I didn’t read the entire book, I skipped a lot of repetitive internal monologue. I understand mental health and co-dependency, but this was…extreme. I appreciate the authors writing, and it’s devastating to know people really suffer from these types of relationships.
