I can't say I really enjoyed this one. I thought the chemistry between Lyric and Jae-Mi was well written, but the rest of the story felt like it was completely underdone. But if you're looking for a sexy K-pop read without any of that pesky character development or meaningful insight into what would surely be a major culture clash, then I guess this book would work for you.
But cute, gives me Big Bang vibes but yeah it’s a cute well written story I was expecting an infantile writing style but was duly impressed with the maturity of the writing. The plot isn’t very creative but it works
A quick, and very spicy read. I cracked up because as a Kpop stan myself, I completely understand the things Lyric heard from her friend when she showed her the group she stanned. I believe this is the fantasy every (older) fan has of their bias. Enjoyable.
This was sweet and to the point,it starts with a bang and ends just the same way.I wished we could have gotten a little more insight to the characters, but chemistry was enough just plain old fire! I look forward to the part of this story and hope the chemistry is just as good.
too cheesy Thanks god it was like 50 pages. It was way too cheesy especially if it comes to famous person and some random girl…..even if he got some dreams about her. 🤷♀️
I was very impressed with this book. I've been a K-pop fan for 2 years now (Stray Kids), and I've often wondered what a love story would look like between a K-pop singer and an adoring fan. This book definitely gave me an insight into the possibilities of what could happen.
I love how the author took me on a wonderful journey with Jae and Lyric. Their chemistry is fire!! I know they are destined for more than just the one night in Vegas. I can't wait to read more about them in the next book.
I enjoyed this one it was a quick steamy Kpop romance between a fan and one of the superstars. It's an insta-lust romance that ends in a one night stand. This is a short novella just 66 pages so only so much can happen. I intend to read the rest of the series in the future and see if they get the happy ever after that I suspect they will. This is my first book by the author and I enjoyed her writing style.
I really enjoyed this! I'm a fan of the K-Pop romance IR books/novellas featuring Black heroines. I would say, this novella does not need to be broken down into three parts. It's a bit much to read a book that ends in a sort of a cliffhanger in 30 minutes or so and then you have to go to the next one. Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited. With that said, I get the author probably does that to make more money on the novellas by breaking up the story this way, but it doesn't make any difference if you read her books via KU. With that said, this story is a lot of fun. Lyric is a fan of K-pop group V.I.P. and decides to take a trip out to Vegas to see them in concert. She has a chance meeting with the group as they're staying at the same hotel. Jae is a member of V.I.P. who is the rapper of the group and as a fan of hip hop, he finds himself more drawn to Black women that he sees in tthe videos, etc. That's just his type. Well, it appears that Lyric has become the answer to his prayers and he's basically completely taken by her. She gets an invite to their show with backstage passes and also to their after party where she gets to dance with Jae and there's instant sparks. Now, the problem with their inevitable hookup based on their mutual attraction to each other is that Jae can't really date due to his public image and contract he has with his group. So you know, drama is about to ensue with these two but not before we get some super hot love scenes. Love Journey is pretty good at these stories, I just wish they were longer or consolidated into one book. On to Book 2 "This is Love"
Didn't really live up to my expectations I'm sorry. This is written more like a fanfiction... which it probably is. The story was a bit too quickly wrapped and the ending was more of a cliffhanger. I don't know I was just a bit disappointed but it wasn't my cup of tea I guess.
This really is a decent length KPop romance novel cut into bite size pieces.
Part 1: Remember Tonight 4 Stars. It was an exciting meeting. Full if flirting, passion, and hot sex.
Part 2: This Love With U 3 Stars. Not much romance. Jae was very selfish to me; he wanted his demanding KPop career and a relationship with Lyric. It seemed like she was the only one making sacrifices and compromises.
Part 3: But I Love You Today 2 Stars. After choosing his career over and over again, ghosting Lyric, and publicly cheating on her, he has the gall to swoop back into her life expecting to be forgiven. Seriously! Honestly, if I felt that he willing chose Lyric, I would be more understanding. However, he had to told by a band member to choose her. The group is finishing up their contractual obligations and he still can’t decide to pick Lyric. His band member had to push him in that direction.
I would really love to read some decent stories based on KPOP, Kdrama, etc. But this one isn't it. I guess I enjoyed bits of the story but it wasn't really a meaty story I could get invested in, and the writing itself had problems - such as constant swinging between past and present tense even in the same sentence.
[Editing to add: another reviewer mentioned the chemistry between the two leads, and I wanted to mention that I agree that part was well done.]
If you have any recommendations for decent KPOP-based stories, please let me know in comments as I'm keen!
I think a lot of us has had fantasies of meeting our favorite celebrity and they fall for us. That's basically what happens here. Famous K Pop star has dreams about an African American girl and locks eyes with a woman who looks like his dream girl. They end up having a one night stand. I would've liked to see a little more development between the characters instead of one concert and BAM the same evening they're hooking up.
A fun, steamy, and surprisingly heartfelt K‑pop romance. I really enjoyed how Love Journey captured the chemistry between Lyric and Jae‑Mi — it felt both dreamy and grounded in the challenges of fame and cultural difference. The Las Vegas setting added sparkle, and the emotional tension kept me hooked. It wrapped up a little quickly, but overall, this was a fast, engaging read that made me want to continue the series.
Is it really considered a book when it takes all of 20 minutes to read. Maybe if the author had put the entire series into one “book.” Either way, another challenge topic marked off. Now on to a real book.
This was a little bit about KPop artists, in that they were from Korea and were in a band. That is where it ended. The rest of the book is about sex.
Hot hot hot, but too short and you hardly get to know the characters at all? Not much about kpop either just the hero is a kpop star and pretty arrogant. I liked Lyric I guess but she was the best part of the story and she wasn't even that great. I wish this had been better.
It's just how I love shorts. Great writing nicely developed characters that express their needs and take the opportunity when given to fulfill those desires. Looking forward to seeing how Lyric and Jae's story continues.
This is one of those too good to be true novellas. It's too short, a foray into fantasy and nothing more. I expected L pop. It could be anything. I see it's serialized maybe it should all be in one book. I won't be following the series. I had such high hopes.
