They call him “The Tempest."
England’s most feared heavyweight-boxing champion.
He despises the fame and glory, but it's nothing compared to the hate he inflicts on himself. All he wants is to be left alone to live on his boat in misery.

When I line up for his autograph, it’s instant fireworks. But not the beautiful stars-shine-bright kind. He's rude. Heartless. A ticking time bomb of rage.
Luckily, I'm not afraid to put a lit match to his fuse.
I upload a private video of him to my one-million-subscribers channel. The video goes viral.
The ex-Royal Marine nearly breaks down my studio door to flag me inappropriate…

…while I’m in the middle of a live streaming event.

I don’t tell him. I don’t switch off the camera. I keep recording, secretly playing to my audience. He should have checked if the camera was rolling, right?

It should be a shipwreck from the moment the tempest hits.
It is.
And then ... it isn’t.
Our attraction is painful, undeniable, and it’s like I am Eve and his lips are the apple, and damn if his tongue isn’t the snake.

I am the only girl who can put this broken man back together again.
But he knows the secret he is keeping will tear us apart. He knows it’ll force my hand to break ties with the only family I have left in the world.
But once The Tempest, the man with the iron heart, falls in love … he'll crush anyone who dares to take me away from him.
I have no choice but to go down with his big ship.

Hook, line, and goddamned sinker.

The Tempest is a contemporary romance story of love, comedy and treachery.

Oh My, What a delicious ride this was.
filled with smutty innuendo, raw filth and sweet romance
Sigh!
Who says romance and filth can't mix.
Why I'm fanning myself here, as I'm likely to burn up from the sheer, dirty, hot, heat factor that The Tempest produced.
Phew!!!!
Calm down girl, get that pulse under control.
Well, what can I say The tempest completely knocked me for six, so did not see that coming.
here I was expecting a cutesy girl meets macho boxer GRRR!
ME MAN YOU WOMAN!!!!
neanderthal Fighter drags cutesy girl (by the hair of course) to his man cave to have his wicked way.

and what I got here was so much more, totally loved this book so much.
So the story is about The Tempest/Lenic Reevus, a heavyweight boxing champion and Felicity St James. a successful vlogger on Youcube along with her best friend Delphine.
The Tempest showed the development of Flick and Lenic's relationship and the hilarious ride along the way.
What made this for me was the totally unexpected pure emotional angle to this story and the balance between the sentimental and the pure raw animal lust was so spot on.
Got to love a bit of English humour and sarcastic innuendo and Brit Constantine certainly delivered this fantastically well.
So I'm going to keep this short and sweet for you if you want to spontaneously combust on the spot then pick this story up and I guarantee you you're going to need a big hose to cool you down after.
Myself I'm still in recovery, and I would gladly experience it all over again.

Oh and I also absolutely loved the epilogues in this, so great to catch up years later and say hello to Felicity and Lenic again.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a free readers copy of The Tempest By Brit Constantine This is my own personal opinion.

The Tempest is one of those books I was totally prepared to dislike-until I didn't.

As I read the first few chapters, I was ready to write the book off as a game playing hodgepodge. I didn't like the heroine and the hero's attitude made me indifferent to his reasons. But as I kept reading, not only did I discover the heroine's hidden side, the hero began to make much more sense.

Felicity is a vlogger (video blogger), who decides she wants Lenic Reevus to help her forget the anniversary of her grandfather's death. When he turns her down flat, she throws a tantrum, gets drunk and has to be rescued from drowning by Reevus himself. For his part, Reevus, dubbed the Tempest by the fans of his bare knuckled boxing style, has lost the ability to enjoy life-until he starts to get to know the annoying vlogger. Even though she has displayed his masculine assets for thousands of viewers, he finds himself unbearably attracted to her. But as they begin to explore their mutual attraction, it becomes clear that he is hiding a terrible secret and has not plans to expose himself to Felicity.

Felicity has her own secrets-her past includes abuse, vengeful gossip, and an inability to commit. But as she begins to trust the Tempest, she begins to find she can commit-to him-if only his secret doesn't cost her the only family she has.

Once I got past the game playing in the beginning, I really liked Felicity. She was smart, kind, compassionate, and strong enough to overcome a horrendous background to become a successful woman who actually can learn to love. I eventually came to like Reevus, but not as much as his woman.

Expect some hot sex in some unusual places, along with an intriguing plot and well drawn characters. This is a new to me author and one I would like to read again.

God am I glad I went into this with zero expectations. I always find they are the books I love the most ... I read nothing about it, no reviews zilch.
I loved this book so freaking hard.

This book is erotic as hell. That slow sensual forplay that has your toes curling in anticipation for what's to come. Seriously I was sat there thinking jeez this author knows her shit. The story was the perfect blend of humour sexyness and angst. The humour was so on point!! Being British I can tell you straight off she nailed the classic dry slightly twisted humour to a fucking T! The banter had me in tears I was chuckling so hard. The angst .... jeez it's was so subtly interwoven through the story that it sort of catches you off guard. The sore subjects are heavy but tastefully done so although you get a feel of what the characters are feeling it's also not drawn out to the point it's over done. The side characters all play fantastic parts in this story, they don't take over however I couldn't imagine the story without them init either.

Felicity is my favourite kind of heroine and honestly the best I've read this year!. She's feisty and fierce with absolutely no filter. She was crazy is in the best way with her mad antics a mischievous ways. She held all her cards close and under all that crazy was a hella lota damage. My heart hurt for all that she'd been through at such a young age and what made it worse is that she wasn't a bitch. She didn't do shitty things and use her past as an excuse. She didn't play the damaged card or look nor want attention. Honesty such a great character.

Lenic was the total opposite. He wore his damage like an amour cocooned in his anger and sadness. He was the typical alpha broody hero but with a twist. He wore his heart on his sleeve with felicity, she brought out the best in him in every way. I loved his playfulness and sweet side, how absolutely adorable he was with her. He treated her like a princess honestly he's a women's wet dream. He has serious issue though and that was definitely his breaking point. His issues affected him to the point it became unavoidable. But even then he didnt do what I expect(what most books do) he didn't fuck up!!!. He fixed the problem, admitted it and worked through it without throwing away the love of his life. He done it for her sighhhhhhhhh. #dreamman.
I also love that there was really no big split up before the HEA .. they spoke and sorted the issues like adults and it was the perfect ending!!!

My only little issue with the story it is that I would have loved to have heard what happened between Lenic and west .. I feel like it's left without any explanation and although it didn't affect the ending in my opinion it would have been the icing on the cake.

But otherwise I love this book and the author is definitely on my fav list. I can't wait to read what comes next.

Omg ! Loved this story from beginning to end what a page turner.New author for us and we loved our first read by them.

This is the Funniest and One of the best books I have read in 2017.I laughed from the beginning to the end. There were so many favorite parts to this story they were to many to list but I will say that some of the best parts of the story were all the epilogue endings and the out take on Lenic. Omg ! hilarious...

Omg ! Another is the car wash scene with Cross(it was almost like watching a stripper lol) and Tempest their doing it for a charity event and Felicity decides to add to the white board
"Double Team Wash" the services they are listing.

Still chuckling and smiling as a write this...

I always pick a favorite character and this time around it is going to be Felicity. She was the bomb she made me laugh constantly what a sense of humor and a mouth on that girl.

Lenic quoted Felicity perfectly she was kind, sweet.sexy funny, witty, intelligent, unique and a little outrageous in a good way.

Lenic sexy as hell, had a sense of humor was possessive,love-able,sweet,kind,pissed off, angry, sad. He may all have been those things but with Felicity he was a different person possessive, sweet ,funny and once his heart was given loved fiercely.

Favorite quotes:

" I am like honey to a bee."
"Wait what?Did that bee just sting me?"

I laughed so hard as this transpired after Lenic's brush off.

Nicknames for Felicity Flick,Hazelnut.
Lenic his was Tempest
As the story flowed they all made sense .They were truly perfect nicknames .

I defiantly connected with these character from the very beginning you could not help but love them.As for the rest of the characters they were also engaging witty and fun they all had a sense of humor.

A super sexy read that was humorous ,was full of down and dirty sex just the way they liked it.This is the type of story that will stick with you well after you have finished it.I know throughout the day I will be thinking of a funny scene and I will start laughing out loud all over again. You know it was a well written book when that happens.

A must read ! And for me goes in the keeper shelf as I will definitely be reading this again when I need a pick me up and a few laughs.Looking forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

This was a debut novel and it was superb!

I loved EVERYTHING about this book!

This was a REALLY enjoyable read for me. Somewhere in between a romantic comedy and a VERY steamy contemporary romance, I had several laugh-out-loud moments throughout the book (and some others where I had to turn up my AC! Talk about HOT!!!)

Felicity was an absolute riot. I liked how, yes, maybe she shouldn't say or do something, but she feels like it, so she says or does it anyway. As you can imagine, that made for some rather awkward incidents, but if she hadn't been so "free-spirited," she never would have caught and held the attention of Lenic.

Lenic is HOT. Period. But he's not just hot, he's one of those tortured, introspective, protective, doting, soft-under-the-hard-outer-shell hot. I loved every single encounter he had with Felicity, because between their two different and unpredictable personalities, I never knew what to expect!

All in all, I REALLY LOVED Brit's writing style. I would ABSOLUTELY read more of her books, and I'm very much looking forward to them!

4.5 Swoonworthy Exciting Stars.

It's hard to believe that The Tempest by Brit Constantine is her debut book. It's written like a seasoned author. This chick is talented. She is definetly on my radar now....

I love how unexpected Lenic "The Tempest" Reevus was... He not your typical bad boy that we have come to expect in our books. Lenic is a REAL MAN. I loved all his imperfections... He's a beautiful, scarred, flawed, SEXY alpha male who is a gentleman (outside the bedroom).... in the bedroom he's a freaking beast!Lenic has a heart of gold and the body of a GOD. I'd be happy to pray to him on my knees every night. Every girl needs a Lenic!!

Felicity St.James is also not your typical weak female lead. This girl has balls. Such a spit fire! She owns her mind & body and uses them to fullest extent. She knows what she wants and she goes after it....
A hot night with the champ Lenic is what's she is craving! But Lenic is no playboy and he seems completly closed off... He gives Felicity the act he shows the world, except this girl totally affects him... Looks like they both have met their match! They are both fighting their growing feelings for each other.... In for the fight of their lives.... Their sensual and often hilarious sparring match had cracking up and melting!
(I loved the cheeky brittish humor!)

Felicity is fiercly independent. She
runs from commitment. No one one has been able to tie her down. Her past has made her into the person she is today....
While Lenic's life consists of training and fighting with no time for women. He too has a past that is still haunting him... But it looks like fate has other plans for these two loners.... They seem to be unable to run from the magnetic pull towards each other!

The Tempest is pure entertainment!
It has everything you could ask for in a book... A fantastic layered plot with well developed and very memorable characters. A must read.

ARC received via NetGalley

I liked this book. It was a good romance story to read. From reading the synopsis, the story wasn't what I expected it to be like however what I did get was enjoyable. I thought the beginning wasn't as easy to read (didn't flow well enough) to what I would have liked but as the book went on, it got better. I hope that other characters featured in this story get their own book in the future.

I paid no attention to the blurb, the author, the anything. I was looking for a read to enjoy and the cover caught my attention. Shame on me. I should have had more to go on, but that was a good thing. I was expecting nothing, but a read that would engage me. This one had me from the first page. I read it all the way to the end in the first sitting. There was no over the top grand gestures or anything of that sort. I just wanted to escape. I did.

Felicity was her own person. She had a personality that gave me more of what I would like to be at times and then not. She was funny. The majority of the read was of Felicity’s so I found it easier to connect to her and through her with Lenic. There were things that you had to read and kinda read between the lines. Felicity had a mind of her own. She could think and say the darnedest things, a woman with no filter, but honest. I really liked her. She had her moment when what she did or didn’t do put us at an odd moment, but she was the one. She knew more and felt more. She was what he needed.

Lenic was a girl’s dream and another nightmare. He could be that gentleman, the bad boy, the beast, the lover, the caregiver, the protector, and so much more. All this and you could still fell the anguish he went through. You could feel the pain, sorrow, and sadness. The anger was like a stain on him. He was unlike a good portion of our heroes in books now. He owned his problems. They were like points to learn from and learn fast.

This read was on that held a wealth of communication between Lenic and Felicity in various ways. It was not all sexual, chemistry, and passion. The did true talking, questioning, communicating. I loved that. I would most certainly read another read from Brit Constantine.

Reading the first pages of The Tempest by Brit Constantine I actually wasn’t sure if this book was for me … it felt like a romantic comedy and I am really not the right person to review those. I need more complexity and love the more complicated characters and plotlines.

Also the story did not really flow that easy and smooth, I would have wished for it to be a little MORE…

From what I heard this is the first book from this author so when I think about it that way – she gets an extra star for that which earns her 4 stars as a result for this novel.

Both characters are equally strong and weak at the same time which makes an interesting mix.

The darkness of their pasts made the story more “my thing” than the comedy, but intriguing enough is the fact that it actually works out to compare those deeper facts with the comedy on the surface.

In total this is a very enjoyable read that I can only recommend – especially for a debut novel …

As I started this book, I wasn’t aware that this was the authors debut novel. The beginning was funny and I was prepared for it. What I wasn’t prepared for was how this book was going to make me feel.

There are crazy, zany antics by Felicity and her friend Delphine. They have a vlog on YouCube, not YouTube, that they do lifestyle videos like makeup techniques etc. However, when opportunity strikes, Felicity will wing it, and wing it she did. She wanted the Tempest’s (Lenic Reevus) attention and boy did she get it.

This is the story of opposites attract and two broken people finding love when they didn’t think it would ever happen for them. There are secrets that are kept and when the truth is revealed there are choices that have to be made.

What a journey this book took me on. I laughed, I had the stomach plummets, I sighed and swooned as Lenic is quite the dirty alpha! I even teared up and had a lump in my throat. Their love scenes were so full of passion and man those two had some chemistry, right from the start. There is a lot of sage advice and deep conversations that really touched me.

I highly recommend this sweet, dirty, funny great feels book!

This is so far my favorite contemporary romance this year. Lenic and Felicity gave me so many butterflies in my stomach and I’m wonderfully happy being inspired by their love for each other. There were so many outstanding quotes and life lessons in this story. Brit Constantine, you are a very smart writer and I hope that someday I will meet you and hug you personally because The Tempest touched my heart and soul a lot. And those four smashing epilogues are truly winners! Great debut novel!

** ARC provided by the author in exchange for honest review **

The Tempest is Brie Constantine’s debut novel and it was a delight to read. A contemporary romance told in Felicity’s POV, delivering you an enjoyable entertaining romance.

Raised by her grandpa Joe, Felicity Saint James owes her morals and boundaries to the man. She is headstrong, independent and fierce. Crazy, head over heels for Lenic “Tempest” Reevus, the ex-Royal Marine, heavyweight Champion; she makes it her mission at a match to get in his pants! The day of her grandpa’s passing anniversary has her yearning to conquer something exciting so what better way to conquer the beast of a man. Problem: he won’t give her the time of day! Now she is on a mission to see what makes Lenic tick, combust, etc. But what happens when she pushes too far?

Lenic can’t believe that little ol’Felicity is turning his world upside down “This- you- you are the craziest thing to happen to me.”  The attraction between the two is painful yet undeniable.

Both have damaged pasts, but how they deal are different. Lenic wears his damage like an armor coat; pushing everyone away and fighting while Felicity doesn’t let her past dictate how she lives life. Felicity is the heart that helps Lenic out of his funk! His issues definitely attribute to certain scenarios, but in the end, he persevere for her! SWOON!!  Lenic is sweet, caring behind his Alpha persona. He is your dream man!

A sweet and sexy read for Spring/Summer 2017!

Awesome, awesome, awesome book! Most definitely a recommended read. Full of hilariousness! I even had to read certain parts out loud to my husband, who laughed his butt off. Felicity is my newest favorite characters. This author is on my watchlist.

Oh, and team Cross. His humor could compete with Felicity's.

4 Stars!

I had mixed feelings about this book when I started it. I am, admittedly, quite picky when it comes to sports romances. At first, I had a hard time connecting with Felicity, the heroine. She was kind of all over the place. But, as the book went on, I changed my tune. Felicity is complex and a bit damaged. Her tantrum, for lack of a better word, near the beginning of the book did nothing to endear me to her. It took a few more chapters, but then I was in it for the long haul.

Tempest, or Lenic Reevus, is big, bad and kind of a jerk. He seems to hate his life and once you get there, you will understand why. I liked how he interacted with Felicity and enjoyed their relationship once they started being honest with each other. They both had secrets. Big secrets that threatened them both.

A good book with witty banter, steamy sex and secrets!

This was a very intense story. I really did enjoy it though. The main character is Felicity. The way she starts out you pretty much expect her to be a bad-ass sexy, get the guy she wants type of girl. Which she pretty much is. But, as the story goes on, and we get to know her through her time with her friends, as well as her nervousness/bashfulness around Lenic, we do learn that there is a softer side to her. When we finally get her background, we can see just why she has always been the way she is about relationships and trust. Lenic comes off as a pretty big egocentric jerk at the beginning of the book, in that same scene where we get our first impression of Felicity as well. It is good to know, though, that the author really develops these characters to where you know that isn't who they really are. That they both put on a show for the others around them in their lives. Lenic has a horrible past, but his past ends up being connected with Felicity's best friend West, in a way more complicated than just the fact that they are rival fighters, and have a big match coming up.

Readers looking for a romance that has it all will find this an unforgettable read full of heart, soul, and bits of humor. From its delicious yet emotionally bruised boxing hero to its outspoken and shameless heroine, readers will find themselves quickly consumed by their romance full of emotional baggage and scorching encounters.

Felicity is a successful vlogger who's become obsessed with Lenic "The Tempest" as she surreptitiously watches him and his rippling body from afar. Not content to stay on the sidelines she makes a dramatic play for him that ends in anger and frustration. That's just the beginning though as they continue to battle each other, and discover more about each other, in a combustible relationship that slowly evolves into a commitment. Their journey isn't without bumps though as the self-esteem issues she hides behind a bold facade start to come out of hiding when Lenic's walls become stronger. There's also animosity between him and her pseudo brother West which leaves her stuck in the middle and torn over loyalties. Through it all Felicity's an appealing heroine, strong-willed despite her childhood of abuse, who goes after what she wants wholeheartedly. She's bold, outspoken, and embraces her sexuality in encounters that have her jumping Lenic whenever she's in his presence. She's a loyal friend and watches over those who are hurt by those who are stronger. She's an ideal match for Lenic as she drags him from his self-inflicted darkness through her brash comments and bubbly personality.

Lenic's on the cusp of fame with an upcoming boxing match weighing on him while trying to keep focused on his training. Meeting Felicity though is anything but calming as she pushes every one of his buttons. For so long he's been punishing himself for an act of rage done years ago, keeping himself from living fully over a heartbreaking loss that he can't get over. Being around Felicity doesn't allow for hiding any longer as her actions bring out an equally fiery reaction in him. Being with her brings him joy and a desire to finally make a life for himself. Being with her brings out a sweet and sexy side to him that was missing when readers first met him. He's a talented dirty talker and their encounters are teeming with sexual tension, erotically-charged banter, along with heartwarming words and deeds. He's a delicious hero who says everything a girl wants to her and wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to his treatment of her. They're a formidable couple who work together to ultimately reach their HEA.

From start to finish this was an engaging read with an immensely appealing main couple. The romance is scorching with fun and flirty banter, along with heartbreaking secrets slowly revealed as the story progresses. Along with two strong lead characters comes a cast of secondary ones who are just as compelling and entertaining. Felicity's friend Delphine is outspoken with man problems of her own that led to humorous self-discoveries that had me chuckling. Lenic's manager Cross was a delightful source of comic relief too, flirty and goading when it came to friends and lovers. The secondary character that most captivated me though was Felicity's friend West who's always been protective of her. He has his own painful past of loss that's tied to Lenic and revealed in dramatic and heartbreaking form late in the story. I wish readers would've gotten a resolution between him and Lenic though as things were left hanging between them. West was actually missing from the latter part of the story and I hope to see more of him in the future as he still has much to recover from and a story that I long to read. Overall this was a great mix of eroticism, romance, and charm which was all wrapped up with a heartwarming bow courtesy of three delightful epilogues that readers will want to experience from the first page to the last!

When I read the blurb of this book, I immediately thought that it was interesting. Then I read the genre of the book, it says Comedy. I’ve never read any new adult/romance/comedy book before. And I think this is my first. Sure I read new adult books with humor but not comedy. And I could say that this book didn’t disappoint.

The book is about Felicity and Lenic. Felicity is a lifestyle YouCuber, I think that’s equivalent to the real life’s YouTuber. She uploads vids about makeup and fashion and sometimes she also gives advices. Until one day she got a chance to film Lenic in a bathroom while taking a shower and then dropping a soap and bending down to pick the soap. The video she uploaded went viral so Lenic barged in her room and showed her who the boss is.

I really love the story of this book. Both characters have somewhat dark pasts and both could relate to each other because of it. Though I kind of knew already the twist of the plot. I somehow guessed right about Lenic’s past and so I wasn’t surprised when they finally revealed it because I was expecting it.

I love the comedy parts of the book. It really made me laugh so much. I would literally stop reading and just grin or smile or chuckle or even laugh out loud my friends were confused as to what’s happening to me. It also has a very nice build on the romance. It wasn’t as fast paced as it described. I mean sure I would still consider it fast paced romance because they just met a couple months before they fell in love with each other and though Felicity already knew who Lenic is, because Lenic is kind of a celebrity in bare knuckle boxing, they don’t know each other personally, but it didn’t felt like it was fast paced at all.

I also love the characters. I love both Lenic and Felicity and also their best friends Cross and Delphine respectively. They are all fun characters and easy to love.
Felicity is the type of girl who laughs a lot. She sometimes evades serious situations by throwing hilarious jokes and she’s good at it. She’s got dark pasts too but not as dark as Lenic’s. And because of that, she helped Lenic get out of the hole he dug himself in.

Lenic is the type of guy who burry his emotions and is always serious. He’s got a past that is sure not an easy thing to forget. He is really lucky to have Felicity in his side. And he keeps repeating how Felicity made him happy. Funny that Felicity’s name means ‘happy’ or ‘happiness’. And I like how possessive he is of Felicity but he never control her. He doesn’t tell her to stay away from certain people. He protects her without making her feel choked or constrained. Which is a very big plus to me on the swoon department.

They are a perfect couple. They are each other’s yin and yang. And I wish I can have my own Lenic Reevus. He’s dreamy and really dreamy. Yeah. He’s that dreamy. And, boy, he’s hot. Hot in all aspects. *wink wink*

The book is in first person point of view and it was on Felicity’s point of view. Though there were outtakes and 4 epilogues. Yes, 4. So many I know. One of those epilogue was narrated by Lenic and one of the outtakes were his point of view too. The narration was good and easy to understand. And I kind of had adjusted on the British terms because of the Lord and Master Trilogy that I didn’t had a hard time knowing the meaning of most of them.

To wrap this up, this book is really good. It both have a touch of dark and lightness in it. The characters have both dark pasts but the book isn’t dark so it was great. If you bessies are a fun of rom-com, new adult book, then this one is perfectly made for you.

Brit Constantine’s Tempest is a fun and sexy romance with an emotional and sweet story. I was hooked from the first page, and I really enjoyed this debut author’s writing. I LOVE, love, love Felicity. She is one of the funniest heroines that I have read this year, and she is my new Book-BFF. She cracked me up, and I think she is the perfect match for the more serious Lenic - otherwise known as “The Tempest.”

She and Lenic meet when she quazi-stalks him at a fan event for fighters, and the sparks fly as these two have a colossal clash of wills. Felicity propositions him, and he doesn’t give her the time of day, and it pisses her off. They actually live close to each other; therefore, these two are not over. Frankly, Felicity won’t let them be over. She has a popular video channel (think YouTube) and uses it to post a video of Lenic in an outdoor shower with important parts blurred, and it becomes wildly popular and enrages him. This little move is just the spark that lights the flame between these enemies, because Felicity has quite a few antics up her sleeve to drive him wild.

Lenic thinks Felicity is half-crazy, but he cannot get enough of her. They have a tug of war that inevitably ends in the bedroom—they are destined to be together—and these two have some amazing chemistry. Ms. Constantine builds the sexual tension to a fever pitch, and her love scenes are sensual and hot. There are some bumps along the road to love for our fighter and his vlogger, but Felicity and Lenicare a funny, endearing couple and are obviously meant to be together. Lenic is a true sweetheart, and his story will squeeze your heart. Felicity is the girl we would all like to be or at least be friends with. There’s lots to love about The Tempest, and I am excited to see what Ms. Constantine writes next.

I reviewed this book on behalf of Book Addict live,
I really did enjoy following Lenic and Felicity’s story. I like how Felicity is a vlogger and we get into her head a bit when she sees an opportunity for a video. Felicity’s character really made me laugh at times.
But deep down you can tell both Lenic and Felicity have something dark in their history. We don’t find the reason until later in the book.
I like how the story goes beyond the viral video of Lenic in the shower.
I was bit confused at first with the chapter titles, because the author quotes the characters. The book starts in Lenic’s perspective, in the prologue, but then the entire book follows Felicity’s perspective. I thought it was switching back and forth because the chapter headings had the characters’ name beneath the quote, but I caught on eventually.
Lenic’s perspective does come back later on in the book, and I like how he is portrayed.  I managed to overlook those details and I remained focus on knowing the story, learning more about the characters. At times I couldn’t stop my imagination going Viral especially the charity car wash event with Lenic’s friends stripped to the waist

I will say there is a lot of sex in this story, but it was used to show the growing intimacies in and out bed. All in all an enjoyable read, I loved the epilogues. It was a very intense relationship with an HEA

Felicity decides that she wants the fighter known as "The Tempest" quick and dirty, so she lines up to get his autograph. Although it's instant fireworks, he is very rude to her, and she decides to get him back. With the power of her blog behind her, she launches an attack, and loads a video of him without his knowledge. When Lenic sees it, he comes for her, barging in while she's in the middle of a live streaming event. The chemistry is so potent, that Felicity forgets that she's live streaming, so the fun really begins. OMG this was the funniest book that I've read recently, like stomach hurting, snort like a piggy while spitting out drink funny. Flick and Lenic are combustible together, so sparks flew out of my kindle, and when they ignited?! OH HOLY FIERY FLAMES OF HOTNESS BATMAN, the sexy times were of the panty destroying variety, so I recommend commando. Brit Constantine has a talented writing style that shone through this highly addictive story, and boy, I couldn't get enough. She got me from the very get go, and I never looked back. On top of all that humor, and sexy goodness, her twists came out of left field, leaving me to drop loud f-bombs in between the spraying of my drink everywhere. I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for her next book to come out, which means that I cannot HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Tempest ENOUGH TO ALL AND SUNDRY!

4.5 Amazing Stars! Lenic is a boxer and has been given the name Tempest by his fans because when he is boxing he does it bare-knuckled. Felicity is a video blogger who has made the decision that she wants Lenic to help her forget the anniversary of her grandfather's death. When she asks him he down out tells her no. Felicity ends up getting drunk and is saved by none other than Lenic. Felicity has secrets from her past but as she begins to trust Lenic she finds things can be different. Lenic also has secrets in his past but as he gets to know Felicity he realizes that he really likes her. I was hooked from the first pages and found I could not put the book down. The author's style of writing was beautiful and I can't wait to see what she will write in the future! Lenic and Felicity's chemistry was through the roof and I thoroughly enjoyed them. The story is told in Felicity's POV and gave us great insight to the story. The story had me laughing at the banter between Felicity and Lenic. I highly recommend this book!

Holy crap!! This book was was H-O-T hot!!!! What was even more shocking was that this book was Brit Constantine debut novel. The writing style was amazing and the chemistry contained in this book almost caught my kindle on fire!
Lenic "The Tempest" Reevus is the definition of hot alpha male but he's not your typical bad boy. He wears this armor to protect himself. Rarely smiles rarely laughs UNTIL Felicity came into his life.
Felicity isn't like your normal female lead, noo she's strong and funny and is able to stand up to the intimidating Lenic while pushing all his buttons. Although Lenic is closes off to everyone else, with Felicity he is able to open up more and show his flaws.
This book was intriguing because it also had alot of question marks about some of the characters. I wasn't really expecting much from this book but instead I'm shocked and hooked to Brit Constantine's work. This book is a must read guys!!

I was given this ARC by NetGalley for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It has a little bit of everything: romance, comedy, secrecy, a bit of crazy and some hot steamy scenes with a HEA.

When Felicity first met Lenic all she wanted to do was just have hot, angry take charge sex with him. But as she got to know Lenic she realized that there was so much more to him than the angry arsehole that he pretended to be for everyone. As their relationship continues to develop the are faced with each other's past but as any true love match they are able to overcome it. I just think that they are meant to be together and I specially love how Felicity describes their love and their whole relationship "We met. We fought. We smiled. We laughed. We shared. And then, there we were … in love. Ready to go. And so, we went." A perfect description of their love and how they became a We. A must read!

Good read, humorous

Humorous book, thought the outtakes at the end were the funniest. Engaging characters, although I would have liked to have learned more about Lenic growing up; there's really none of that except a single memory. Character interactions in the first half of the book often felt unnatural and stilted.
I was really unimpressed near the beginning where Felicity makes a joke about Lenic being able to "sexual assault me, any time." Not the type of humor I expect to see in a modern romance novel.
Quite commonly one characters dialogue was in the same paragraph with the actions or thoughts of another character. Caused some difficulty in determining who was speaking at first glance.
Overall, a good read, especially for the author's first published novel.

Captain Dark is romantic comedy, it had me laughing a lot and the sexy scenes were pretty steamy as well! I would give this book a 3.5 stars and recommend to others. The writing style was good and the story line was ok, I did feel a somewhat connection to the characters .. But something was missing for me .. Maybe not enough angst? Or to much humor? I haven't quite figured it out but in all it was pretty good read so I would say you should still check it out for sure.

Felicity and Lenic meet in a pretty hilarious altercation.. They know they feel an instant spark of lust for one another but could it possibly lead to more?

I was a little bit confused by the prologue to be completely honest. It felt to me to be out of context and just missing ... something.

However that was, for the most part, a momentary blip in what was otherwise an entertaining story. The back and forth got a bit much at times, but only in a kind of "get over it already" type of a way.

The characters are vibrant and loud, which works very well within this narrative. Alternating between sweet, frustrating and sexy, Lenic is a treat and, whilst I think that Felicity was a bit full of herself, she wasn't a dislikeable character.

Overall, enjoyable.

The tempest is amazing great funny book. I was so satisfy with the story which was funny hot and story with great characters. It was written with only POV from Felicity but her thinking and acting had me so laughing that I did not miss Lenics. I also liked that it was written understandable that pages had flown by and I was not boring. Both Lenic and Felicity are great developed both with their flaws that make them human and great persons. Great and highly recommended book.
