The book has an amazing start where the author does the work of building anticipation in the reader to make them turn the page.

The book has two major plot twists in the first hundred pages that would make a reader want to continue with the book.

Ratings-

Cover- 3 stars

Title- 2 stars

Blurb- 1 star

Plot- 1 star

Writing and Presentation- 3 stars

Overall- 2 out of 5 stars.

Reading the first few pages was an absolute delight but beyond that the plot loses its quality and becomes a hard to bear cliché.

The book has editing errors in the form of tense violation and the cover could have used some more imagination in order to make it relevant to the plot.

The blurb is misleading as the plot is nowhere close to a darkly suspenseful romance mystery.

The reason behind the title The Girl Who Knew Too Much has not been well explained anywhere in the book making it seem like a deception to grab attention of a reader.

The book has the ability to grab the positive attention of sensible readers only if the second half is written in accordance with the standards of the amazing first half.

Please if you value your time and your taste in books, do not read this one. It actually gave me a headache. The book starts with a question "Are you a believer or a cynic?", well okay I call myself a believer so I went ahead with it.
****SPOILER ALERT****
The book can be divided into two parts. The first one contained a cheesy romance which made no sense and I seriously questioned its existence in every way possible. The second part was well an upgraded version of Sonpari.

PART ONE-for the first few pages it went fine,(by fine i mean no headaches, there was nothing phenomenal about the story) it had a depressing love triangle and the romance was too cheesy tbh. Then the narrator dies and claims to be a ghost and stalks the girl who barely acknowledged his existence and does not even know that he died. A lot of cheesy pages later, the actual couple in the story are about to get married but the guy dies exactly ten days before the marriage. Did I tell you that the ghost of the narrator still stalks her every single day of his life,(oh no but he's dead, nevermind).I think he stalked her for 4-5 years.

PART TWO-Obviously the girl is devastated, breaks down and does all the crying in the world but one day she comes up with an idea that if she performs a thousand good deeds then god would miraculously return her love back. Let's take a moment to contemplate this, the author wants us to be a believer but this is asking too much. Wasn't the girl lead supposed to be educated? Or even have had a tad bit of common sense. Well no, that was wishful thinking and she had none. Okay so now the narrator steps in and asks YAMRAJ,(a moment of silence please) to help him. He grants him powers to remain visible only and only to the girl. He brushes through the topic of his parents who lost their only son at an early age and never recovered. Well don't worry they did not even know of their son's after death activities and they do not get to see him, BECAUSE CRAZY TEENAGE LOVE IS WORTH SO MUCH MORE THAN YOUR PARENTS(slow clap). YAMRAJ also gives him powers to detect other people's sorry before hand. So he helps the girl with her deeds. A very badly portrayed image of psychiatrists is mentioned. Because you know all this crap makes perfect sense. Then one day GOD(bright light in the story) commands YAMARAJ to restore back the dead guys life(not the narrator, obviously).

Read the book if you have lost your sanity and are ready to believe in a load of shitty crap in the name of miracle.

P.S-I read this book just because it was a gift.

There are books that leave a profound mark on your soul. And then there are books that have no right to be in publication. Let alone being called a book. You won't receive a Nobel Prize for guessing in which group Vikrant Khanna's 2017 masterpiece falls into.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The plot, if there's any, follows Akshara, a thirteen year old who's recently lost her mother. The despondent child spends her time sulking in a children's park, where she meets this mysterious guy named Harry. The guy offers her the story of his life, a story that he believes will help her heal.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
What follows is a memoir that borders on our protagonist's obsession with a girl. A cringe inducing teenage love triangle, two awkward deaths, an uneasy dose of casual stalking and a modern educated girl believing that if she performs a thousand good deeds, God would revive her dead fiancee.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
What's Harry's deal, you ask? He is dead, and he spent his life pursuing a girl who barely acknowledged his existence, and his afterlife trying to escape the dreaded friendzone.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And the cherry on top is an extended cameo from Yamraj. The god of death, who refers to people as Bro and Dude, and apparently grants wishes because he got a new computer.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It's a mess. The writing is loose, the dialogues amateurish, the plot's all over the place with no single genre to follow. The romance is cliched & written through a very oversimplified pov. The writer completely fails to address the themes of death, grief and separation, instead glossing them over in favour of more cartoonish idiocy. The choice of the title is also baffling, as it has no connection to the actual events of the book, other than being a cute nod to the classic Hitchcock thriller. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The book begins with a question, "Are you a believer or a cynic?" I'm a believer, and I believe that if your partner breaks the ice talking about this book on your very first date. I'm afraid it's a ginormous red flag.⁣⁣

"thousand Good deeds" !!
يا اخي كرهتنا في عيشتنا منك لله :v

وبعدين أنا استاهل حد يقرا لواحد هندي 😂💔

×××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××

= Quotes:

There were many times when I wanted to shake Sahiba and ask her, 'What the hell do you see in this guy?' She perfectly exemplified the saying 'Love is blind.'

Everything is possible my dear as long as you believe in it. I say it's all about your belief.

But love is not that simple, is it? It's hard. I don't thinkthere is anyone in the world who has loved and lost, andforgotten about it with the next sunrise. Everyone has tosuffer their share of pain.

-'Do you believe in miracles, Ginny?'
-"Not as much as you do.'
-'Ibelieve in them. They happen all the time."

If two people loved each other, they should be together, right? Ego, misunderstandings and miscommunication canruin what could otherwise be extraordinary love stories.

Love at first sight is very such real in fact. It is best way to fall in love. You don't waste time being friends getting to know the other person and so on.Used straight away get to the point of falling the love.

A heartwarming read, this book has left me with positive vibes, and lots of good hopes. I feel myself more optimistic now…. Wow!!! 😂.
A very light read, and a peaceful start, but as the story progressed, I wanted to learn more of what happens. The author has tried to put a lot of good lessons into this story through the characters :
Siddharth - the good guy, who is always doing good, and doesn’t even have a small bad bone in his body… Yup ! He gives us the lesson that we should be optimistic, whatever state we be in, if we are able to do good, help others, we shouldn’t hesitate once. All the good we do, will surely place us in a better place after our lives, and the most important, we continue to live on even after our death, in the memories of our loved ones, in their thoughts and actions. 🥰
Sahiba : the girl is a one tough cookie, she may have had her own, small breakdowns, but she comtinued to believe in her faith, she continued to work through her goals, even when all the people around her keep questioning her faith, keep pressing that she needs a psychiatrist and she is going crazy, imagining things. She may have a small moments of self doubt, but she evolves above all and works towards her goal. She is such a hopeless girl in love. She reminds me of these words, “true love never dies, it only gets stronger with time”.😇
Harvinder / Harry : to me he is the most pitiful character in this story, he is a good guy, but wavers in between, his anger and jealousy gets the worst out of him. But he rises above his emotions, a bit too late… but within time. His realisation and his love for Sahiba, help him to become a better person (or should I say a better ghost 😅). His mission has changed, from eavesdropping on conversations, to feelings people’s sadness, and helping them to get through it (maybe not directly, but through Sahiba).
Akshara : here all the readers are represented by this single character, where the author relentlessly, asks us to hope, never give up, and never stop living the life to the fullest.

Apart from the life lessons, there is also a bit of comedy present, where we can visualise, Yama the lord of death, in an office, in front of a computer screen figeting with it. And in another instance, where he plays a car racing game, and is even unable to cross the 1st level, and Chitragupta the assistant, keeps cheering his lord. The conversation between Harry, Yama and Chitragupta is one which left me smiling.

There are lots of lines in this book that I would like to quote:
“Miracles happen, Sahiba. A thousand good deeds make a miracle.” This line left me with a positive heart filled with lots of hope…..☺️
“I always thought love was a game. You got to win it. But love is not a game. Love is sacrifice. Love is letting go. And above all, love is dreaming the impossible, like bringing back a dead man.”
“If two people loved each other, they should be together, right? Ego, misunderstandings and miscommunication can ruin what otherwise be extraordinary love stories.”
Coming to my rating : out of 5 stars
Title : ⭐️⭐️⭐️. The title was misleading 😩, I thought there would be some serious kind of mystery, suspense and thriller stuff, but this was kind of a romantic and motivational story.

Writing style : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ words and emotions were very clearly understood.

The book begins with a question , the author asks the readers to ponder upon before beginning with the book-
"Are you a believer or a cynic?"

Akshara, a thirteen year old teenager is traumatized after her mother's death. One day she comes across a man named Harry , who in order to relieve her from grief and provide her with hope , begins to narrate the story of the unflinching faith of a believer, Sahiba.

The book is much more than a "cliché romance" novel , as stated by many. It deals with the concepts of love , faith, inner turmoil, one sided love, grief and an amalgamation of other emotions.

The main plot revolves around the question-
" Can true love bring someone back from the dead?"

The story kicks off with the very first page and starts building anticipation . In spite of its fast pace, there are a few chapters , which act as the speed breakers.

Honestly , I was allured by the cover, which happens to have a pleasing combination of pink , light blue and white, and the title, which seemed intriguing . However not much is clear of the title during the course of the book.

The author presents a beautiful idea of after life and karma. The book rekindles faith in the hearts of the readers. It also provides a ray of hope for those who have lost their loved ones.

Overall, the neat first person narrative and the simple writing style , makes the book beginner friendly. I would recommend it to the beginners and the believers.

My rating: 🌟🌟🌟⭐

" if you love someone, let them free, if they comes back to you, they are yours" - This is what that came to my mind when I read its book cover; but it is not exactly that. The book is about Akshara, a teen who is still not over on her mother's death, a loss that was too much for her to handle. To her life, enters Harvinder(Harry) , a stranger turned friend who seemed to help her out of the pain but is he what he is showing? He shares a story of love and loss to her; a story that made her think through her pain... that sums up the book. But is there something deep to everything? Grab a copy to know more.

What kept me going is the emotions of the characters, the sorrow, the pain, the helplessness, doubt, confusion ... you can feel it as your own. The mystery and slight touch of humor makes it all the more, interesting. The plot is different and refreshing, it makes you wish for things on behalf of the the characters. The writing style is impressive with respect to the content he is trying to convoy.

I really loved the book cover design and the title, they made me feel good about the book. Other than the point that it is a bit predictable i had a great time reading it.

The book felt like it's being narrated by a two year old "dude". The main character keeps whining about the girl and her boyfriend to the point of annoyance. Yama and Chitragupt, bro and dude, seriously feels like a teenager wanted to mess up mythology. The blurb is seriously misleading. It feels a children's short story stretched to the point of breaking.

The first thing that you’ll find attractive about this book is its cover. It gives you a faint idea about how the novel is going to read like. It is lovely. It will create a curiosity in the minds of the readers and you will find yourself impatient to read this book.
The story is about Akshara, a young girl, who has recently lost her mother. She is sad and finds comfort being alone and in solitude. She cannot stop herself from crying. The very fact that her mother is no more doesn’t allow her to sleep. It doesn’t allow her to be at peace. She visits the park everyday and meets Harry. He starts talking to her and expresses his desire to narrate a story to her. Akshara agrees and realizes that the story that Harry narrates is not just a story for she can relate herself to the story. A few days later, Harry tells Akshara his truth. What truth does he tell her? How does Akshara react to this truth?
The blurb of the story is very interesting. You will instantly feel like going through the pages of this book. The story is not one among those stereotyped stories. It is different. The moment you read the first page of this book, you will feel attached to its characters. You will be curious to know what happens next. The story will keep you hooked on to it. The first person narration, the simple language and the mystery element will give you an awesome reading experience.
‘The Girl Who Knew Too Much’ is a novel with new storyline. Suspenseful romance mystery will surely keep you on the edge. A good one-time read it is!
I rate:
Cover: 3.5/5

Review:-
This is the second book I am reading of author Mr. Vikrant Khanna and currently, I like his story narration style and waving. The author has done a marvelous job here by creating a new type of story concept. The use of language and story plotting is far better. Few lines are there which touch me, like “Thousands of good deeds makes a miracle”. Once again someone convinces me that when you are in love you can do anything. At initial stage may be you found a little bit normal story but keep patience and go through the book, the more you move into the character the more it holds you. This is the potential of an author how he holds the reader to complete the book. Thanks again to bring such a lovely story in front of us.

The only reason I picked this book was because I read in its blurb that a girl loses her mother and is devastated after that. I also lost my mother few days back and I just wanted to read it because I wanted to relate to that character's pain.
The starting of the book was interesting and good. The cover of the book is no doubt one of the best book covers I have ever seen. It gives a mysterious vibe but the book is not that mysterious.
Akshara, a thirteen year old who has lost her mother two weeks back finds a man named Harry who claims to ease her pain by telling her a story. There is a fictional story in this story. The plot seems as if it is a bollywood story. It was not that interesting as I thought it would be after reading the blurb and seeing the cover. I would not recommend it to those who reads a lot.

The book starts off really good. I wasn't expecting much from it but the starting was so promising I had to finish it (also it was short so :P).

Also, why "The Girl Who Knew Too Much"? It doesn't make sense.

I liked Siddharth's character. I was so angry when Harry hit Siddharth. Even if Harry loved Sahiba so much, how can he do that? What would have become of Sahiba had anything happened to Siddharth? How would you feel if someone tried to kill the person you loved?
Anyway, Harry regretted it later. And he got his karma.
I was so sad that Siddharth died ten days before their wedding. I cried a lot.
I didn't like the part where he went with Yama.
The story was going well then suddenly it became so unreal.
I liked Ginny's character as well. I also want a friend like her.

If Siddharth became Sahiba's guardian angel, only she can see him, right?

The author Mr.Vikrant khanna has beautifully expresssed that your loved ones can be in your life even if they are dead. The cover of the book is beautiful and has this line written at the bottom "what if the loved ones you lost were to come back?".Although the characters in this novel are fictious but very influential. It is mainly a story of a man called Harvinder(Harry) who tells his life story and the miracle that happened in his girlfriend's life to a little girl named Akshara who lost her mother and wanted her back. He(harry) loved a girl named Sahiba who had come to live in his society in delhi. She is a short, fat girl with lovely eyes as addressed by the author.Sahiba used to bake delicious cookies and had planned to open her own bakery. He wanted to tell her about his love for her but she was in love with a guy named siddhu(siddharth) who had interest in acting and studied in delhi university. He(harry) being jealous of siddhu intentionally hit him with his car.Two weeks after which harry died in an car accident and was chosen as a living ghost(as punishment) by yama (the god of death)after death.Sahiba and siddhu (dropped his acting career)successfully opened her bakery and were to get married but ten days before their marriage he died in an car accident.Siddhu was very kind,big- hearted person who always helped and prioritize others before himself.Sahiba was in great trauma after his death and believed that if she does thousand good deeds then a miracle will happen and siddhu will be alive again. She joined several NGOs and used to help poors with money and free cookies but it took a lot of time. Then harry requested yama to make him visible to sahiba and grant him the power to see people's sufferings so that he could help her in completing her good deeds.Although siddhu can't be alive again but it could help sahiba to overcome her grief. They together helped many people in some way or the other and finally god impressed by her ordered yama to fulfill her wish. Since it was against the rules yama couldn't make him alive again but he did made him a guardian angel. This gave hope to the little girl Akshara and made her believe that the loved you lost can come back again.

The author through this novel has tried to awake a ray of hope in many people's lives who have lost their loved ones and miss them.It is beautifully narrated fictional story.

The girl who knew too much is the story of Akshara, a 13 year old girl, who is devastated with her mother’s death and leads a life of solitude.

She meets Harry, Harvinder Singh at a local park who tries to lessen her grief by telling her his one sided love story. He tells about his love, Sahiba and her lover, Siddharth whom he has nicknamed “Ugly nails”.

The characters in his story are suspicious, and Harry tells how they overcame fate that was destined for them. The rest makes up the story. the plot loses its grip as the plot advances.

The cover is misleading, it should have been a girl sitting on a park bench. Also, the blurb and the story don’t match!

Overall, an OK read, not exceptionally good or anything.

I received a review copy of this book from Arudha Club in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

The book is nothing related to its title and plot is bit cliché towards the ending.
I was compelled to read this book because the story line was attractive and promising. When I started reading this book, I was able to comprehend that how it would end ,with one person dying(as there in the story line) but I still read it. Every book has it's own flaws, sometimes while reading "the girl who knew too much", I found it a bit childish and impractical but read it nevertheless.
Coming to Good things, this book talks about hope, how if you hope, you'll never end up with nothing, you'll always have something in your lap as sahiba. It assures us that "time is the best healer". It was a bit humourous at some times too.
I would recommend this to beginners as the language is easy to understand.
Hope you have a nice time reading it:)

This book by Vikrant Khanna though a little rushed, silly towards the end and a blurred plot, leaves you with a strange sense of peace. The story , as you progress further leaves you with anticipation of what's unfolding in the upcoming pages .The writer sheds light on a otherwise heavy reality of life through his lighthearted narration. It takes you through a rollercoaster of mysteries , deep settling plot twists in between, funny moments, and certain heart saddening snippets. Gives you a rather different perspective of looking at death through the vision of fantasy .Overall an easy read

This book was crazy. The starting of the book was amazing that made me want to finish the book but, as it continued I wanted to take the book and throw it against the wall, and never pick it up again. The main girl in this book is crazy. She is like praying to god, for almost four to five hours a day thinking that her dead boyfriend will return back if she prays. She needs to accept the fact and move on. I guess the author forgot the quote-"God helps the people only when they help themself. The main girl becomes a living zombie when her boyfriend dies. I really wanted to dive inside the book and slap her put some sense inside her. And at the end of the book, I wanted to kill her. So, if you really value your time I am going to suggest not read this book. It's an utter waste of time.

Paranormal fiction, not one of the genre i am really fond of but 'The girl who knew too much' held me captive till the very end. Vikrant Khanna really deserve a round of applause for efforts he put into this book.

The story revolve around Harwinder aka Harry basically who narrates his story to Akshara a teen whom he sees mourning over the death of her dear mother. Watching Akshara all alone and distant from the kids of her age Harry feels the need to probe the reason and in this triad he ends up unwinding his tale to inspire some belief in Akshara.

Harry tells her how deeply he was in love with a girl called Sahiba. However, Sahiba wasn't in love with Harry because she was in love with Siddharth. It turned to be hard for Harry to watch them together and then one day he does what he shouldn't have. He ran his SUV over Siddharth and ran away. But it didn't helped him either because guilt of harming an innocent soul killed him each day. Siddharth survives the accident but Harry dies few days past the incident.
Yeah who narrated the story to Akshara, was no longer alive. It frightens the hell out of Akshara and she runs away without listening to the story which wasn't completed. Harry tries to interact with Akshara again and gives her a hope that this story may help her get over the death of her mother and seeing the hope she agrees to listen to the story till the very end. Will this story be really helping Akshara? Will she be able to see her mother again? Whatever it is, it is damn good.
The positive point is its unpredictability. The book is full of surprises and you will find them till the end of book. The language is also good and you will love reading it due to its impeccable narration. Negative point is that some of the chapters that were little dragged. Also the fact that how can a girl of tender age can understand all that.
Now I suggest this book to all, whoever is reading my review please do buy, you won't regret reading it. So pick this book without any hesitation.
