I was lied to.
I was cheated.
Resigned to pick up the scraps of empty memories and disarrayed thoughts, I left. After finally cutting the strings of manipulation, I resorted to do what I’ve done since I was a child, something my father drilled into my brain since I could handle my first rifle.
Run.
I’m a mere shadow of the girl they all knew.
Lies and deceit change you. They alter your entire outlook on life.
I’m Madison Montgomery, and I want to play a game.

Have you ever read a book full of subtleties and wondered if you're the only one who has picked up on them? Read some of the reviews and not one of them mentions ANY of them??? The one thought that ran through my mind the ENTIRE time I was reading this book was...

OMG!! Madison!! What the freak is wrong with you??? Read. The damn. Book!!

If my life was being controlled, manipulated, destroyed, etc. and hanging in the balance, reliant on the goodwill and integrity of others, and I had NO ONE to trust or believe because EVERYONE else has an agenda in the game I have NO idea how to play... ANDDDDDD... there's a book IN MY POSSESSION full of answers... Guess what I'm a do??? Get to freaking reading.

Anyho, Madison tried to escape the treachery that surrounded her, but I wasn't surprised when all her plans fell apart. Once again, Bishop owned me in this book. I WANT... no I NEED this man's POV STAT!! He OWNS me!! Although I'm still unsure about who he really is as a person, what exactly he's done, what he plans to do, or if he's sincerely feeling Madison, I DO know that I'm anxious to continue with this series to hopefully find out. Amo Jones, girl you have me tripping over myself and wanting to smack some imaginary hoes in my efforts to get to this man LOL!!

Dark and mysterious!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜💛💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔📙
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤

The setting: New Zealand, England, The Hamptons, New York

The Hero(s): Bishop Vincent Hayes – The leader of the Elite Kings Club. He is dark and dangerous but has a connection with Madison that can’t be denied. He doesn’t call it love, but it seems mighty close. He is aware that whatever it is he feels for her, she is his “patch” (weakness).

The heroine: Madison Montgomery (a.k.a. The Silver Swan) - she ran from Bishop, her father and the Kings, but they caught up with her. She has feelings for Bishop but is aware he will never love her. She also loves her step-brother Nate, but is not in love with him. She is still searching for answers to how she fits in with the Kings and what they are all about

The Love Story: Bishop and Madison have a connection. Though strange things happen in this book. She kisses more than just bishop which confused me to no end.

Madison has this book which details the origins of the Elite Kings Club. However, as much as she says she wants all the answers, she reads it a chapter at a time and it is taking months and months to read the entire thing. This is good for how a book plot works, increasing our knowledge slowly to add to the suspense and intrigue but it isn’t very realistic. Madison knows that these guys have killed, she doesn’t trust any of them so why wouldn’t she just read the entire book in one sitting to find her answers? It makes no sense to me.

Despite that, I did love the story. I loved the chemistry between Madison and Bishop. I loved that he seemed obsessed with her and keeps tracking her down wherever she goes. Nate was an especially great supporting player, I just adore him, though I know he will be more of a bad boy in his own book and I can’t wait to read more about him. Brantley is also fascinating. I am not sure why he has so much animosity toward Madison, but he is a bit cra-cra scary and his books should be smokin’! I will be getting the ARC of the first one of his books (Sancte Diaboli) soon, so I can’t wait!

This book was so crazy though. It was definitely good and I am loving this dark and twisty story. Though I must say finding out a bit at a time like this is driving me crazy. I can see why it is driving Madison crazy as well. I just want her to get on with that Whispers from the Dead “Tacit a Mortuis” book and find out exactly what is going on. It seems it will come in the next book which is aptly named Tacit a Mortuis. I for one probably won’t be going to sleep tonight.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

OMG. If she wanted answers so badly why didn't she just read the damn book?! Literally everyone is telling her to read it to learn more, but noooo lets bitch about how everyone is keeping secrets. If it were me I would have demolished the book in one sitting.

( review contains spoilers)

Now you guys might be thinking that Miftahul, if you hated the first book then why read the second book? Let me tell you why......because curiosity kills the cat. I was curious to know, and i also wanted to know how stupid Madison can get......trust me, she gets an A+ in stupidity. Now, after reading this book i realised that i should always remember this line “curiosity kills the cat”, i learned the value of this line today. So basically nothing actually happens in the book except madison saying thing like “ I trust no one, and that means no one can hurt me. No one can touch me. I’m untouchable. “ “ i have too much pride” and i am like no no no idiot swan, you have no pride, all you have is a stupid brain with no common sense. Literally, this girl knows that people are trying to hurt her, but what she does is trust anyone she sees. If she sees a girl walking by she ll be like “ hey! Wanna come to my party? We ll be best fucking friends and i ll drag you to all my problems but i wont explain shit! But i trust you, even tho i dont know if u want to kill me or not cuz apparently everyone wants to kill me now.“ 🤡 Throughout the whole book Madison is just horny and wants to fuck all the guys, while Bishop wants to ......ok sorry..not “want”, Bishop does control her cuz he has a hot body she cant resist and thats why she does everything he and his pack says...cuz they all have hot bodies. At this point, i dont think Madison can make her own decisions, i dont know how the fuck she calls her self “badass” cuz all she does is whine and she is so fucking stupid, legit everyone keeps hinting her to FINISH THE FUCKING BOOK CUZ THAT BOOK HAS ALL THE ANSWERS, literally even her enemies keeps telling her to read that fucking book but what she does? She does something unbelievable, i mean she does something so shocking no one would have ever expected her to do........she doesnt read the book. she asks everyone for answers and when they dont give she ...doesnt really say anything, she just goes to her to room and calls herself “badass” cuz i mean she was brave to ask for answers but no one gave her, but that doesnt matter does it? She did ask for answers throughout the whole book even tho all she had to do was READ A FUCKING BOOK. but she still wont read the fucking book cuz hey, she is a badass who likes to whine. . 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

I would have understood if she was a naive, sheltered girl but she is not. Like, she is just dumb, i mean she lets people purposely control her life and when they do, she starts throwing a fit that people wants to control her while she is the one giving them permission. Like this book was short, nothing happens except like Madison’s twin brother appearing out of no where and she is like “ oh, you are my brother? Ok fine lets go to my room and PLAY BARBIE”! And this girl says she doesnt trust anyone. 🤦🏽‍♀️. She doesnt even have reactions to anything which ruin my mood. Bishop and the guys have like only one dialogue which is “ what do you know?” “ i cant tell you now,” and i am like IF YOU CANT TELL THEN DONT FUCKING BRING UP THE TOPIC. Holllyyy fuck, all of these characters are next level annoying! Not only Madison, i am giving that girl too much credit for ruining this series for me. Literally all the characters except Tate. Tbh i like Tate a lot. Its like all the other characters are using her, tate is a really good and supportive friend and she deserves so much better than.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic THE BROKEN PUPPET: Is the second full length New Adult novel in Amo Jones ‘Elite Kings Club’ series.

I apologize for this vague review it's only because I don't want to divulge any spoilers to ones that haven't gotten around to reading this. I highly recommend this series!!

Unique, Unpredictable, Unputdownable. Ultra addictive!!

As we saw in the last chapter of ‘The Silver Swan’ Madi is running for her life with Tatum in tow, new names, new passports, destinations unknown. All in the name of disappearing without a trace, or so they thought, leaving the ‘Elite Kings Club.’ behind.

Or so she thought. They used me as their Puppet. Now I'm broken. But Bishop's know where she's been all along, he was just biding his time to come get her and bring her back to where she belongs.

If Bishop didn't come get you, someone else would have, only you wouldn't be coming home in a seat on a plane. You'd be coming home in a box.

In 'The Broken Puppet' we learn more about 'The Book'
Khales who was supposedly Bishop's first girlfriend who out of the blue disappeared
And a new character Daemon who is closely connected to Madi and is part of 'The Lost Boys'
And still humming away in the background is the disappearance of Tillie who we met in the first book.

I kind of devoured Book#1 which basically threw me over a cliffy and I kind of need answers, one clicked the boxset so yay to binge reading!!

So much is packed into these books, my mind is all over the place, all questions I need answers to, just keep piling up!! We’re very similar to Madi in a sense, because just like her we’re trying to piece everything together to understand the world she’s learning about just like us, chapter by chapter. 🧩Puzzle piece by puzzle piece. Like we’re moving through a blanket of fog.
And then yet another cliffy that has left me reeling in it’s wake, rubbing my eyes wondering wtf I’d just read!!

Book by Book anticipation races through my body, darkness is building up in the background, you can feel it getting darker and darker. Lies are slowing getting revealed, book by book. Information is coming at us more freely but we're still left with so many questions.

This author has done a brilliant job at keeping us readers on our toes. Like a carrot dangled in front of our noses just giving us a piece to keep us invested in the series, keeping us coming back for more. Like a yoyo my mind is scrambled with all the information that's been thrown at it, but through it all we see a softer side of Bishop peak through and I love seeing the transformation compared to the first book.

Now onto the next book!!

I had a really hard time trying to decide on a rating for this book and have been really conflicted about what to say. While I loved the mystery and intrigue of the story, I also felt like there was a lot of filler and parts that just weren't necessary. The book ends on yet another cliffhanger and I honestly don't think I really learned anything from this book. There were one or two big reveals but other than that I just feel like there is so much left to learn about these characters. I'm actually a little nervous for the next book since I don't want all the answers to just be crammed into the conclusion with little explanation.

Don't get me wrong, there was a lot I liked about this story, and that's why this review is so difficult. This book still had my attention from very early on and stole my breath on more than one occasion. I'm also really enjoying these characters, even though most of them are more than a little unhinged. It's that crazy aspect of the story that had me captivated and always wondering what was going to happen next.

Overall, this isn't my favorite book in the series but I still highly recommend that you pick up these books. The characters will have you wide-eyed and gripping your Kindle as you scream in your head "this can't be happening!" It will make you question everything and have you on the literal edge of your seat, trying to get closer to all the answers.

Seriously what's wrong with me?
wrong
I can't stop reading this series and yet it has so many flaws!

-editing errors (I usually can't stand them but still plow through here);
-inconsistencies or holes in the story (maybe I am too dumb or maybe it will come in the last one);
-sick and twisted sex scenes (even in her dreams) that gives me the same "vibe" when you see a gore disgusting scene that you know you should NOT look at but still can't look elesewhere;
-cussing, filthy talking and killing feeling like a "normal way of life";

I could go on and on...

Yet I still plan on reading the last one.

Can someons show me the nearest psych ward please? I think I need to be put behind closed doors because obviously something is broken with me and need to be reset....

Oh my word, I forget how whiny some heroines can be. Madison took the cake for the whiniest and stupidest heroine I have read this year. I rolled my eyes way too many times to keep track of exactly just how many. But first, if you know how important a book is, you read that shit and finish it. You don't wait days or weeks reading chapter per chapter. I got so pissed when she said she didn't have time. Like gurl everyone was literally asking you what chapter you were up to and you were behind! So even if it meant not sleeping, you will read that shit. But no. Not Madison. She instead whines and whines. Demanding people to tell her the truth instead of finishing the damn book. You have the resources little girl, why can't you make use of them to your advantage?

And then of course no one would freakin give her a straight up answer when she asks anything. Fuckity fk.

This book was a mess. It tried to merge two worlds - normal and special - but executed it so poorly. So many things happened yet they weren't all that memorable or significant. The blurb was so good, so promising but it did not deliver for me. I finished reading this and when I asked myself what I got from it, I can't think of anything well noting. I mean besides the fact that the heroine is still the only one who doesn't know shit (of course an exception to that is her friend Tate who is just as dumb).

Then comes Bishop, Brantley and Nate. Another eye roll.

I get that this is not a particularly nice review but it's my personal opinion. I was so FRUSTRATED reading this.

Innerhalb weniger Stunden durchgesuchtet.

Madison Montgomery only scratched the surfice of a deeply dark secrets of a total uncomprehendable sphere of life, it's undercover, it's powerful, it's dark & dangerous and she's an undeniable part of it. She's the missing link. She's a liability. She's a weapon. And she's in mortal danger as her destiny has been marked and re-written from the past generations...
"The Silver Swan is, in old times, what they would call a tarnished being. Every girl born into the first nine is a tarnished being. It's no place for a her."

If she thought the very reveal of the secret would clear the facts of her life, she's mistaken. It only threw her on the more dangerous path, where she can trust no one and even her own sanity is torn with doubts, and more questions without any answers, she's a pawn to the higher game, a game she can't control, and a game she's unlikely to win...
"They used me as their puppet. Now I'm broken."

But her short lived escape from the Kings' clutches, only stirred more comotions as she's torn again with the feels towards the very King himself, Bishop Vincent Hayes and somehow the stakes and odds are slightly changing, or we are only hinted to believe so, as Bishop plays his cruel game of control and demand.

"You never put me back together properly. You steal parts of me, so when you do put me back, i'm all crooked, cracked and still visibly broken."

"Because being broken is how you're going to survive this life, Madison.

There are more secrets surficing, there are even more questions asked and the danger of realisation that the game is not really a game but a hidden ploy of secret order. The one that will conduct the merciless rules and follow was written. But Bishop himslef and Madison will not only find out the burried truths of their pasts but the betrayal that hits them both leaves everything open, and with more fuckin questions...

So, I honestly believed that I would get more answers, and just when I got the hang of it, or well, at least I thought I did, I got swept away with more angst and anticipation, more adrenaline and mystery...even though book 1 was a "shocker" filled with rush and speed and suspensful action, the second book had parts that were distracting me from the essence of the story but then it pulled through as a complete and total stunner.

So my first exclamation - "Son of a bitch!!!!" - was right on point!

Amo, you did it again

You stirred the pot, left me high pumpin on adrenaline and then threw me to the abyss of a fuckin anticipation!!! AGAIN!

WTF?! What the actual fuck?!

God damn woman!

God damn!!!

“We’ve all lost our mind, baby, but that’s how we all found each other. We’re all lost, but we’re all lost on the same road.”

eh madison is just so fucking dumb it's embarrassing to read. she's all like "stop keeping secrets tell me now tell me now" crap but won't fucking read the book that has all the answers. like you're literally asking for it at this point.

madison getting pissed and jealous bc she thought bishop was hooking up with someone else when they aren't actually together while she literally got together with like 2 of his friends and had fantasies about them? what a fucking hypocrite.

i'm just pissed because she's walking around demanding shit when she won't take a lil of her time to actually fucking sit and investigate everything. like ??? the way she neglected tillie's disappearance. fucking red flag. what kind of friend are you?

anyway better than the first book but it's still fucking annoying because nothing is happening but i'm getting more and more confused.

I don't think I've ever encountered a book that made absolutely no sense and kept teasing its audience with no answers. The fact that Madison keeps receiving hints from the people around her who keep telling her to read a book and that she mysteriously knows more if she can just remember frustrates me to no end. I DNFed this way too late at 75% since nothing happens. The fact that there's a 3rd book after this is mind boggling in addition to the positive reviews. Did you ladies read the same nonsensical fiction I did? You can't introduce a vague mystery in book 1 and spend so little time actually giving answers in book 2. I don't think I've ever disliked a book so much.

Silver Swan

Style: Dark Romance (High School)
Story: 2/5
Enjoyment: 2/5
Dark Level: 2/5
Sexual Level: GOOD
Triggers: Yes
Violence: Yes (Mild to Medium)
Male: Stoic, Quite & Sexy
Series: Book 2 ( cliffhanger)
Pages: 259
Audio: GOOD (female)
Kindle Unlimited: Yes

STORY:
I admire the way the author writes, but my issue was the story. It’s like being on a treadmill where I am jogging in place and not moving. For me, I didn’t feel like the story elevated from book one. It is still secrets and I can’t tell you just trust me statements being repeated. The mystery of this storyline was appealing in book one but book two to me is like a replica of book one.

Bishop is still the same Stoic character and I like his appeal. I enjoyed Maddie in book one but again, her actions became the same to me.

CHEMISTRY:
Never had a problem with them physically, still like them together sexually.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
A lot of characters that added to the story, but I didn’t see any elevation.

OVERALL, I don’t feel like this one was for me. I think if this was done as one book with no cliffhangers I would really enjoy this. It’s just becoming dragged out, and I found myself loosing interest.

✰✰TRIGGERS: Violence, killing, guns etc..

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

So this book, my head right now is seriously messed up.
I can't stop thinking about Madi and the Kings, like what the hell is even going on here.

giphy (1)

I have no clue, I am so confused the broken puppet left me with even more questions than answers.
I loved this instalment but Madison you seriously need to start asking the right questions girl.

 photo 200_zpszjza70w7.gif

And while I'm at it READ THE BOOK MADI !!!!

giphy (3).gif

You've got a book with answers and you don't read it, I'm shaking my head in disbelief here.
This girl, god how long does it take you to read one bloody book.
And breathe, so now I've got that little tantrum out of the way I'll continue.

Despite me wanting to strangle Madi for her sheer stupidy I have to give this the full five stars as I couldn't put it down,
I read into the night and before I knew it I was at ninety percent and it was getting light outside.
I seriously lost track of time I was so engrossed.
So if your expecting answers here, well just don't.
The Broken Puppet just throws more disarray into the mix.
seriously this story is doing my head in with its serious lack of clarity.

 photo anigif_enhanced-buzz-22174-1436384183-5_zpsuavhu0fe.gif

Though We are drip fed a few tidbits to keep us hanging in there like why Brantley has got serious beef with Madison, didn't see that one.
The Broken Puppet is action-packed and I'm seriously loving the new dynamic that is developing between Madi and Bishop.
And that finale, I'm not even sure what occurred there it was so obscure in its intentions.
But I'm hooked and intrigued and I will be waiting impatiently for some clarification.
So disregarding how much this did my head in I am now gagging for the next book.
I really need and want it like now.

HUH???

OK... So so so confused. I think it had been too long since I read the first part of this crazy story.
This whole book pissed me off. Mostly because the poor heroine is being manipulated by everyone and being told half truths on a constant basis. What makes this really irritating is that the heroine has the tools to answer these question in her room, but... She doesn't fucking read it!!! She leaves for two months and doesn't read it still!! And that alone makes the whole story wobble into a world of "what the hell" moments.

Unfortunately the author created so many inconsistent holes in this world, that it totally makes no sense!!
- Like I said, the heroine doesn't bother to read the book that would give her some answers!!

- Imagine finding out you have a twin!!! Wouldn't you totally spend hours talking and getting to know them and compare notes on each others lives??? Well our heroine brings him into her home and she barely speaks to him, he's like an after thought!! The author doesn't bother to integrate him into her the story. Only in spurts. Then there's a mini chapter written from his POV. HUH?!!

- The heroine doesn't hound her father for answer. Her father doesn't seem to give two shits about her. Even when she gets shot!!!

- Whatever happened to her supposedly being a sacrificial lamb?

- If she likes shooting, why does she never carry a gun if her life is in constant danger?

- The book has no real sense of what is going on. What season is it? What semester?? She leaves for two months and returns and has no issues academically??

- These kids (teens) completely act like adults. There's no accountability for their actions. And the kind of sex they are having is way over the top for their age. I would not recommend this to YA group. Furthermore, the heroine's long lost memories of sexual abuse are resurfacing. I doubt she would be engaging in the kind of brutality Bishop unleashes on her, considering. Biting, bleeding, choking? really?? And all this the night she returns from hospital after she was shot, really? I thought the sex scene was WAY out of left field inappropriate and ugly! It made me dislike Bishop a LOT. A little tenderness would have been nice. There's badass Alpha dangerous, then there's brutal unkind asshole. I found Bishop was the later.

Another re-read. I did forget a few critical points to this story—dark gray on my darkness scale—book two starts where book one ended. Then fast forwards two months later.

As we know, Madi and Tatum take off in book one. In book two, they are both in New Zealand; Madi is broken and having a hard time moving forward without Bishop. They think they are safe from the Kings until an unexpected phone call.

In Broken puppet, we learn more about the book. There are new characters to add, The lost Boys, one of them being Dameon, who is very much connected to Madi. Plus a few others. Darkness and Shadows surround him. Tillie is still missing.

The puzzle pieces are slowly starting to fit. But still not complete. Can I just add how much I love Nate, yes he is a man whore, but he is funny and wears his heart On his sleeve for his stepsister and those he loves. The banter between Madi and Bishop is the best around. They are made for each other. The ending will shock you, buckle up, and pay close attention. It’s wild. Amo Jones does a phenomenal job by keeping our attention and being on edge; now off to see what happens next.

IDK if I'll finish it one day. That day is not today. I'm at a point where I don't really care what happens to these characters. I feel the story is ALL OVER THE PLACE

As alluring as a peaceful swan floating on water, but as lethal as a silver bullet.”

This book really made me dislike Madison. She made so many ridiculous decisions throughout this book, and she could have solved everything if she would ONLY READ THE BOOK. I mean, she literally has a guide that EXPLAINS EVERYTHING, and she just takes her sweet time reading it? Huh? And the fact that she was so unconcerned with Tillie? Wow, what a great friend.

But aside from her, the book wasn’t bad. I’m still confused since MADISON WON’T READ THE BOOK, but things are definitely starting to get cleared up and get revealed.

Honestly, at this point, I’m going to continue with the series not because I’m invested in the characters but because I want to know what happens with the plot.

When you fall for the devil, make sure you don’t land facedown with his horns stabbed through your heart.

Also, one thing I want to mention, there are a ton of spelling mistakes in this book. I know editors can’t catch all of them but there WERE SO MANY and they stood out a lot too which got a bit annoying after a while.

3.8 Twisted STARS
As alluring as a floating swan, but as deadly as a silver bullet.

Well, holy shit that was a roller coaster ride. I though Jones couldn´t get this story more twisted and full of questions than what already was, but nope, she delivered some intense and darker installment. (This review will contain mild spoilers)

If I have to start anywhere though, I think I should go and say that this book was way darker and involved a lot of mindfucked stuff than the previous book ( probably the main reason why this is NA and not YA as the first book was ). So I think you should know there are major trigger warnings about this book containing: sexual abuse, rape, graphic violence and child trauma. There´re things that are implied really subtlely/implicitly, but I think is best just give heads up just in case.
Riddles dance with death when the words are inked in blood and carved with marrow.

So we´re left after book one with Madi and Tatum wanting to run from The Hamptons and the Kings. Madi just witnessed something that changed her whole perpective of not only her dad, but also the Kings and who she is. Running seems like the right choice, but one thing about the Kings, or better said Bishop himself, is that they own everything and she can´t never out run them.
Being back to Riverside, will thrown Madi into more of the same antics she experience before, but also into a dangerous dance where the truth hides between the pages of a book and everyone around her, and the main rule: trust no one.
They warned me that I was just a pawn in their game-I move when they want me to move, speak when they want me to speak. I just didn´t realize it until now.

Madi as a character kinda disappointed me. I thought that after what she went through the first time around she would be more careful about what she did or said, maybe I was expecting her to become more of a badass character regarding to her being calculative and finding information to solve all the damn mysteries about the Kings, who she is and what role she plays into this twisted game. But instead, we got this "badass" impulsive girl who was being sassy and a brat to everyone, yell at all the people that could potentially kill her and didn´t try to actually solve anything, like she just stumble into the truth and that was it.
I must say though, that I found interesting how we see developed the trauma and memories she has suppressed since she was a child, and how that give us clues to things that play a bigger role into the whole story.
"We´ve all lost our mind, baby, but that´s how we all found each other. We´re all lost, but we´re all lost on the same road."

There´re probably 2 main things that annoy the hell out of me about this story. One is related to the fact that Madi´s actions sometimes (like almost every damn chapter tbh) are so incredible stupid and impulsive. She doesn’t take the time think things through, and I mean, after all she’s been through , wouldn’t she be able to know that she needs to play the game better? Like I say in my review of book 1: "her actions were either immature, directed by some twisted needy hormones or just a little out of character".

The other thing has to do with a fact that exasperated me the most through the story, and is the one related to The Book (Tacet a Mortuis or Whispers from the Dead), and how almost all the story/valuable information is in the damn book, and how most of time people TELL her that is important she reads the book bc they cant tell her stuff, BUT, instead of taking a whole day to binge-read it, she reads it every other night and just one chapter !!! HOW!! If it would have been me I’d already read the thing 3 times, made notes and highlighted with different colors parts of the book!
Like the story would be so different because she would be able to understand or at least be able to have background info about the Kings to gain more info for the answers she needs SMH. I understand tho that it would be really weird having the whole story within this story thrown at us readers, but I just wish Madi would take seriously where she is in this situation and move her pieces smarter than she has so far.
"But," I add, stepping forward, "you never put me back together properly. You steal parts of me, so when you do put me back, I´m all crooked, cracked, and still visibly broken."
His smile pauses briefly, not enough for me to really catch any meaning behind it. He turns to face me, his eyes locking into mine. "Because being broken is how you´re going to survive this life, Madison"

So Bishop, *le sigh*. I´m aware than any normal person would hate him, and even though I still found pretty stupid that Madi still let him so close to her after how he has treated her and what he´s done (even though she doesn´t have much power about that bc he does what he wants), I still couldn´t stop myself from liking him as a character. I think I figured him out better in this book, he still is the intense main alpha, know-it-all and the one basically with all the power and control, but the story gave undertones we hadn´t gotten to see yet and I´m eager to see how they will develop in the next book. I´m deff looking forward his POV in the next installment because I like highly calculative and cold-hearted characters, and this bastard is the King (pun intended) of them.

I also think that Madi and Bishop´s chemistry is my favorite. I haven´t seen much books with a hate-love relationship that equals theirs, I like the flirty/sassy/angry banters they shared, at the same time it was nice to see that they do have feelings for each other. Plus, the sexual scenes are kinky af and they go according this whole twisted story, so I think they played out right.
When you fall for the devil, make sure you don´t land facedown with his horns stabbed through your heart.

I feel tho that there are some fillers and unnecessary parts in this book, but at the same time, we had so many secrets surface that I´m overwhelmed with some information and how that will develop in the next book. (Like ). But just as we got some truths and answers, we got a hella amount of questions! ()
"...but let me tell you this, Silver," he whispers so harshly into my ear. "When you know all there is to know about this-they will kill you."

Overall, this was a fast paced story, with a pretty intense and twisted storyline, full with mystery and secrets that kept me on edge until the end.
I´m so ready for book 3 because I need all the answers and to know what happens next!!

“Seeing you in pain soothes my anger.”

This shit is not for the faint of heart, but it’s so worth it if you’re down with that. There’s a little bit and a little bit of that. If you aren’t a fan of dark, mind fuckery, and gritty this may not be your jam. But if you’re DFD, then you need to read this ASAP.

These kids are off the chain. Like legit, no boundaries, do whatever the hell they want to do when they want to do it, OFF THE CHAINS!! It’s pure entertainment. Kindle crack for the dark and depraved!

In this second installment, we get a few more answers about Madison’s past, the elite kings, and the full cast of characters. Not so much that we feel like all the questions are answered, but just enough to make me even more addicted.

Bishop was even more of an enigma in the book. Similarly to Madison, I want to kill him one moment and “fuck the life out of him” the next. LOLOL The book is sexy, dark, gritty, and as much of an enigma as it’s main character.

I’m off to finish book 3 and then rock in corner until book 4 is released. Wish me luck!

After book one I rushed to start book two. And Oh my world!!! This author loves to play devils advocate with her characters. This world with the elite kings is changing and getting crazy. She finds out she’s a Silver Swan. But now that she knows what will happen? So many unanswered questions and it is all leading to book three. This is a very suspenseful story with so many dark secrets. Love love her sex scenes with Bishop King. The banter between herself and Nate her stepbrother is cray cray!

First time reading: February, 2019

Oh my...
At the beginning I was not buying the story, and the whole "let's just run" thing...
But then my babe Bishop shows up and all became bloody hell again!
Intense.
Deep.
A little confused.
Exciting.
And with an end that I really, did not expect!
I still have so many unanswered questions, that I think I will need one "The Book" hand made just for me. Loved it but also hated! 😅
Can't wait to see where all this fucking shit is going to!
