Volume 2 has the gang continue their journey down the Castle dungeons further on. Now they have come to accept Senshi's unique ways of cooking to survive on the lack of food, but now they will face some of the trickiest and meanest creatures the dungeons hold to.
Unlike the first volume, there is not too much exploration on the food-looking creatures in the following chapters, aside from a few ones. There is actually a presence of more commonly known mythological beasts: orcs, golems, ghosts & kelpies. The humor is also less on the food aspect, aside from Laois' constant interest in eating anything, and the comedy comes more from mishaps on their journey going down to the fourth level. There's no backstory exploration in the main characters, aside from a few tidbits, but there is some greater hints into the history of the Castle. I believe later volumes will do more on that backstory. Pretty entertaining still, even when the food recipes are not as intriguing as in the first volume.
