Retired serial killer Edwyn Stoffgruppen is in love with Virginia, a girl he met online. Her affection quiets his vile urges. Together, they tour the back roads of America in their LTD, eating doughnuts and enjoying their healthy appetites for each other. Life is good until a Louisiana billionaire kidnaps Virginia, forcing Edwyn to kill again in exchange for her freedom. Oh, and did we mention that Virginia is a sex doll?
its good but its not that good sadly the story is weird and new to me atleast but the writer doesn't know how real beating up works it seems like they were just trying to make the scenes look as gore as they can be but still its a crazy idea i like it :D
Very weird little comic. I really enjoyed the reveal of Virginia and the ensuing fight was a lot of fun and dynamic. Now I’m not so sure about that ending. I would be curious to see what happens next, but not curious enough to go out and buy it myself. If I saw it at the library I would consider reading more to see what the point of it all is.
This first issue was underwhelming. That the main character is a psychopath with a plastic fetish is somewhat amusing, but a lot of things don't make much sense, such as how he seems to be able to break people apart with little effort. Is he super strong? The ending is also unexciting. The artwork is great, a nice mix of realism and cartoon, the latter to hamper down the violence. Still, I will give this at least one more shot to see if the story gets any better.
Messed up. An unnecessarily weird violent crime comic. It starts off peak-level strange, with this weird main character who’s with his plastic girlfriend in a parked car doing the nasty it seems, when he shortly after gets caught up in this violent beatdown of some kids..
It’s a weird concept that’s only slightly intriguing, so I might check out some more of it; might not.
Another great Image title! Plastic is a bit on the serial killer, sex with plastic dolls, killer for hire side of comic book life! With amazing artwork and a story line that makes you wonder what could possibly happen (go wrong) next, I can't wait for the next issue of Plastic to arrive. This reminds me of a cross between Nailbiter (Image) and Second Sight (AfterShock).
2.5 star-ish Quite a short story, really not to much to go on. The story was, well probably enough for me to pick up #2 to give it another try. The art, sort of ok, not the greatest but I've seen far worse.
Bizarre concept, but very well-executed. Can't tell if the female love interest as literal object set up is satire or an even worse endpoint to a longstanding comic practice.
This seemed like a very interesting horror comic book but I DID NOT see Virginia Turing out to be a doll coming. This is going to be an adventure and I can’t wait for the ride.
