Second Chances

Rate this book
Avery Briggs had a broken heart that time had yet to heal. Five long years had passed since Carter Wilcox had stomped all over her heart. He’d left her broken and alone and run off to college, only to jump into a new relationship right away.

Carter Wilcox is not who you think he is. He’s not the heartless bastard Avery thinks he is. For five long years he was trapped in a loveless marriage. Five long years away from Avery. Five long years doing what his father wanted.

Carter is back in town after his divorce is final, and he’s hell bent on getting Avery back. Can she see the man he’s become now and forget all of the heartache from before? Is five years long enough to heal a broken heart?

Is there a happily ever after in their future? Or will it all end in tears?

Nope.
Hero dumps heroine in high school because his rich father threatens to ruin him, his own son, if he doesn’t break up with the heroine.
He gets another girl pregnant, the girl his father chose and he marries her.
She has a miscarriage and yet he stays with her for five years.
The heroine meets him and instant forgiveness.
FY.
Ps. If a father threatens his teenage son to ruin him and never have him work because he can, well the boy should go to social workers not do as he wants, because he is dangerous and who knows what he could do.
Anyway, I’m sorry for the author but I didn’t like it,

Boring!

Not much happened. The only interesting part was when her friend punched Carter's ex in the face. She took him back far too quickly and Carter was a wimp.

Great quick read

High school sweethearts Carter and Avery are planning a future together until Carter is blackmailed by his own father to end the relationship. He walks away from Avery without telling her the real reason why. Five years later, Carter is back in town and is hell bent on winning back the only girl he's ever loved.

A quick read that moves at a fast pace. I loved the characters. Not just Carter and Avery but their best friends, Nick and Riley as well. Really hoping they have their own story coming.

I really enjoyed this book. It was awesome. Avery wants to forget and move on from the only guy she's ever loved. Carter broke her heart When she's out one night she runs into Carter and he asks for a chance to explain. When he asks for a second chance Avery is scared but can she try or will it be too much for her

I received a copy of this book for my honest review

Has potential

The book is nice read. Has potential to be better. The storyline goes way too fast and there needs more to the plot.

Side note and I never do this but there were a lot of errors that weren't caught in editing. A lot of miss using of name and I had to go back to see who the author really meant.

Seems to me this book is written by a teenager. all the characters in this books are annoying. The hero did not even have do anything to earn her forgiveness she forgive him the minute she saw him out of all these annoying characters. I think I like the ex-wife.

A sample of an upcoming story between 2 lovers who get a second chance at being together.

Carter and Avery have been apart for 5 years, ever since Carter broke up with Avery unexpectedly and bluntly. They meet again at a bar one night, and within minutes the two fall back into each other's arms like no time has passed. Yet, Avery struggles to forgive Carter for how he treated her 5 years ago, even after he explained what happened. Can these two make it work and have a second chance at love? We will have to wait for the full story to see!

A cute story, abeit a little bit quick and cheesy in the writing. I don't understand sample stories ... just give me the full book! I am curious to see how these two work through the obstacles and if they can make it work, but I hope the dialogue improves in the full story.

This was a great book. Nice characters. A quick easy read. Read it for yourself you wont be disappointed.

Carter Wilcox is hell bent to get his ex girlfriend, that he was forced to break up with, back. Newly divorced from a horrible marriage he didn't even want, he's determined to win back the heart of the only woman he truly loves.

Avery Briggs wanted nothing to do with Carter, she had tried everything she could to possibly forget about him. Five years have passed and she still loves him, but after all the hurt he caused her she won't go back to him easily.

When Avery gives Carter a second chance will it be for nothing? Or will they have the happily ever after she always wanted?

What an amazing love story, really light and fast paced it comes full circle, carter is forced to break up with a girl he truly loves for a marriage of connivance which falls apart, can he get Avery to trust him again and can he stop the interfering family, it’s a story built on gaining trust and love lost and really is a fun little quick read loved it .

Charter and Avery get a second chance at love. In the past Avery left because of his father. Great short story wish it was a full length novel. Cute duet. Makes me want more from this author. I see potential for a great novel.

The plot is good and I like characters. Sadly the writing in most areas just is sup par. I want to see what happens next though in this story.
