After catching a glimpse of something she wasn’t supposed to see days before Christmas, Irene Martello is run off the road and barely survives. More shocking is the backseat whimper of an Amish toddler stowaway and the familiar sight of their rescuer—the man who’d let her down years earlier. Police chief Paul Kennedy fears Irene stumbled onto a kidnapping ring with two dangerous retrieving the girl and silencing the witness for good. Only Paul can keep them safe for the holidays. Guarding Irene means risking his heart—and his secret—but to save the child and the woman he never stopped loving, it’s a risk he has to take.
Irene Martello's life just got drastically more dangerous when she knocks on the wrong house door while doing her job as a children's early intervention worker. Getting ran off the road is the least of her problems! Having been called to the scene of the accident, police chief Paul Kennedy also discovers a child hidden in her car. Can they solve the mystery of who the little girl is before it's too late?
This story takes many twists & turns and the puzzle pieces get more jumbled as it progresses! Paul and Irene stumble upon something more sinister with each passing clue and the plot thickens to pea soup consistency. Heightened danger necessitates around-the-clock protection for Irene and her boys. These two also have a romantic past that they need to address head on. Paul had his reasons for leaving, but never shared with Irene. Will he find healing & forgiveness in her eyes if he breaks down the walls of his heart and is honest with her? Having been married to a police officer who died three years before, will she open up to love again, especially to the chief? Her boys AJ and Matthew added their own personality and whimsical nature to the story. Even though this is the third in the series, it can stand alone fine. Although for me, I've been looking forward to Paul's eventual happily-ever-after, I'm so glad the author wrote his story!
Forgiveness, second chances in both love and faith, heart-pounding suspense, and high adrenaline scenes all mash up to bring the reader an exceptional book in the Amish County Justice series by Dana R. Lynn!
*I received a complimentary copy from the author and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. *
Good second chance romance combined with excellent suspense. The action began immediately as Irene accidentally stumbled into a child kidnapping ring. One of the kidnappers, determined to silence her, chases after her, shooting at her car and running her off the road. If not for the timely arrival of police chief Paul Kennedy, Irene would likely have died. Both of them were shocked to discover a little Amish girl in the backseat of Irene's car.
I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Paul and Irene. There is tension between them from the very beginning. Irene was Paul's high school girlfriend and is also the widow of one of his officers. He still cares for Irene but believes that he isn't good enough for her. He is determined to keep her safe, even as he struggles to keep his feelings in check. Irene is dismayed to realize that she still has feelings for Paul. It is difficult for her to trust him after the way he broke her heart. On top of that, getting involved with another cop, with the risk of loss to herself and her sons, is something she isn't willing to do. As they worked together to find the parents of the little girl, Paul and Irene had the chance to put the past behind them. I ached for Paul, who had continued to love Irene, but believed she could never forgive that which drove him away from her. I loved his protectiveness toward Irene and little Mary. He melted my heart with how sweet he was with Mary as well as Irene's sons. I liked seeing Irene get to know Paul as the man he has become. She still sees some of the boy she loved, and the man he has become appeals to her more every day. But when Paul is injured, Irene's fears come crashing back, and she pushes him away. I ached for her and wanted to shake her, all at the same time. I loved her big moment on Christmas Eve, as she finally put her past behind her and seized her chance at love. I loved seeing Paul go from despair to joy. The epilogue was a beautiful wrap-up.
The suspense of the story was fantastic. From Irene's first encounter with the bearded man to the final confrontation, the menace from the kidnappers leapt off the page. Each attempt on Irene's life increased the intensity until that final encounter. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Paul to find Irene. I also loved the fact that Irene wasn't a passive victim but had a hand in her own rescue. I was also wholly invested in Paul and Irene's search for Mary's parents. Each lead had me holding my breath to see if that would be the one, and oh, the happy tears when they found the right one.
I also enjoyed catching up with characters from previous books. Irene's brother Jace and his wife Melanie were a big part of this story. There were also Dan and Maggie, Jess and Seth, and Miles and Rebecca. I look forward to seeing more of Paul and Irene in future books, as well as getting to know new couples.
Special education teacher Irene Martello sees something suspicious while making a home visit. However, she never expected it to place her as the target of an attack or to find an Amish toddler hidden in her car. Almost as surprising is the person who comes to her rescue: Police chief Paul Kennedy, the man who let her down years ago. He believes she has stumbled upon a kidnapping ring and that someone is determined to keep Irene silent. Danger increases as the attacks on her and her family continue. Paul and Irene must put the past behind them and work together to keep everyone safe. Will that be possible?
The active pace continues to build as the story unfolds and the tension increases. The mystery is solid and keeps the reader wondering. Relationships develop at an appropriate pace, and the secondary characters are a good supplement to the action-filled storyline. This is a great wrap-up to the series.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn’t required to leave a positive review.
What a roller coaster!!! Honestly wish there were more Amish characters - a little misleading. Very silly and things didn’t really add up most of the time. For a small town there sure are a lot of murders. I don’t understand why they didn’t just get the feds involved, especially because these crimes happened across state lines. These small town cops really don’t play by the books! Also, the murder per capita rate in LaMar Pond must be THROUGH THE ROOF. Why are so many people dying????? I have lots of lingering questions that I know will never be answered. But then again, that’s not why I read these kinds of books. Really entertaining in a nanar kind of way. Might read more of them - just wish they were more steamy (I don’t think God would mind).
My bf and I read this entire book out loud to each other - truly an extraordinary experience, would recommend. I would also recommend purchasing the large print paperback version of the book - much easier on the eyes. Excited to discuss this during book club!
I could feel the hairs rise up on the back of my neck in the first chilling scene. Lynn knows how to write malice into her villains and this guy sure was creepy. All menacing glares and out of control anger. Phew! Tension and danger and mystery abound as Irene and Paul find themselves thrust into the crosshairs of a vicious gang of thugs. Their history makes things complicated. The high school sweethearts find themselves disconcertingly comfortable with each other in some ways. But years of separation and misunderstandings have put up walls that seem impossible to scale. Paul's beating himself up over past mistakes. Irene's concerned with protecting her two fatherless sons. Anything developing between them would be complicated with a capital C. Plus there's this relentless maniac with vengeance on his mind...
A thrilling romantic suspense that will draw you in and keep you reading until both the romance and mystery are resolved.
A great story, that I really didn't think I was going to like. A solid suspense story as a detective and a witness hunt down a killer before the killer can kill the witness. Not only did this grip me from the start, but it was a fun read as well (lots of big smile moments). Well written and smoothly paced this is a story no reader should miss out on.
Like a Christian soap opera in book form. Not enough Amish characters like a book called Amish abduction only has one Amish character?!??! Talk about a bait and switch
Irene Martello bangs on a wrong door and catches a glimpse of something she shouldn’t see. She soon finds herself being run off the road and barely escapes with her life. To top it off, she’s rescued by the man she tried hard to forget. They discover an Amish child hidden in the back seat of Irene’s car and stumble onto an abduction ring.
Police Chief Paul Kennedy is shocked to find the woman in the car is his long lost love, but he can’t let her know the secret of why he abandoned her years ago. He tries hard to keep her and the toddler safe, but they’re hit with explosive threats around every corner.
Can Irene and Paul stop this abduction ring before the ring grab another child or Irene is killed? Will they let go of the past and admit their growing feelings for each other? Find out in this Christmas tale.
Amish Christmas Abduction grabs the reader from page one and keeps them in a vice grip until the last page. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it had me glued. I loved the plot and the lost love angle.
The characters were well written. They jump off the page to the reader. I found myself cheering them both on and biting my nails as they’re faced with every obstacle. The little girl melted my heart.
The Christmas time frame and wintery season played well in the plot. I could picture the story as it unfolded in the Amish community. The use of imagery was also very well done.
This is the third book I’ve read by Dana R. Lynn and I have to say, each novel gets better and better. I will keep watching for this author’s next story.
I give Amish Christmas Abduction five Christmas trees. You’ll want to curl up by the fireplace to read this one!!

Amish Christmas Abduction was action packed with emotions on alert and tissues needed. This Love Inspired Suspense has true to life characters that bounded out from the start with action continually till the end.
Irene Martello didn’t expect to get the wrong address for her home assignment, which resulted with her life being a target by an apparent abduction ring. Police Chief Paul Kennedy could not fathom what was transpiring around LaMar Pond, but he had to protect Irene despite their past history. The threats soon involved Irene’s family with security needed at all times. Who’s behind all of this? Will Chief Kennedy and his department be able end this kidnapping ring? The research Lynn did for this Amish Country Justice suspense is amazing. The unforeseen action and thinking of the abduction ring were realistic and kept the suspense flowing with this reader in the midst of the action with gripping fear and heart beating faster as I read the intense scenes. Dana R. Lynn has given readers another emotional story in her Amish Country Justice series. There’s action, emotions, children, families, secrecy, romance, faith and God’s grace and mercy shown. I highly recommend each one of Lynn’s books in this suspense series. Amish Christmas Abduction can be read as a standalone, but readers will enjoy the secondary characters by reading Plain Target and Plain Retribution first.
I received a complimentary copy from the author. I was not required to write a positive review but have shared my honest thoughts.
Amish Christmas Abduction by Dana R. Lynn, is a wonderful book about love and hope. Irene is a beautiful young mother just doing her job. She soon finds herself in a terrible fix, and is being chased by a madman. The police run him off but she knows she still isn’t safe, and neither are her two little boys. Chief Paul Kennedy tries not to have the beautiful Irene distract him while doing his job, but their past keep bringing old feelings back to life. As the two try to keep each other safe, their hearts are vulnerable to each other.
This book was kind of confusing at the beginning but smoothed over the farther you read. The book makes you feel as if your eyes are glued to the page! It is very intense and heartwarming at several parts of the book. I personally loved reading this book. I felt like I just couldn’t get enough of it. Different parts such as the beginning I didn’t really like because they were slow or I felt like it was just repeating itself over and over again. I didn’t like how they drank coffee or tea since I had just finished a Mormon book series. Another thing that made me sad is the end because they didn’t have a happily forever after. But I guess it’s just because I’m so used to reading that ending with the other book series. I have nothing against anyone, I’m just not used to it yet. Other than that the book was very good, I loved it!
Hope is the key to survival. “He was pretty sure some of the cheer was forced.” This quote makes me think that she still has hope but is still struggling. We all struggle but we can all survive. “The somber mood was dispelled as two whirlwinds swept into the room.” I also like this quote because, even though she was so scared, her little boys still brought hope into her life as soon as they entered the room.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Amish Christmas Abduction. This is the third book in the series Amish Country Justice. I so enjoy Dana's work and this is an excellent example. This book is well written, action packed, and faith filled. I know you are going to love this one.
Widow Irene Martello has and appointment with a clients but she accidentally goes to the wrong house. There she sees something she shouldn't see. She goes on to her appointment but as she drives off she sees the man from the first house yelling at her, shots are fired. He jumps into his vehicle, chases after her, and then runs her off the road. She barely survives but as the police chief helps her they hear the cry of a small Amish child hidden in the back of her SUV.
Police Chief Paul Kennedy answers a call of shots fired. He recognizes the SUV in the ditch. His best friend's little sister, a woman he once cared for but hurt badly. She is also the widow of one of his men. Paul is worried that she may have stumbled into a human trafficking ring. Can he keep her and the child safe while he finds the desperate men after them?
A struggle to find the child's family and stop the evil men after them. How many children had they abducted and sold? God has a plan for this couple, a plan for good and not for evil. God has a plan for you too, a plan for a hope and a future. Give Him your heart, give Him control, and watch Him turn your life around.
Amish Christmas Abduction is a fantastic story written by Dana R. Lynn in her series Amish Country Justice. This was my first book by this author and I will be reading all of them. This story is full of mystery, drama, suspense, and yes attempted murder. The author has done her homework while writing this book to bring this story to life. I read the entire book in a few hours because I just couldn't put it down. I was drawn into this story from the beginning page.
The characters have been carefully developed and really add great depth to the story. I enjoyed getting to learn each of their stories as the plot played out. With all the mayhem going on their is an underlying love story that developed as well. This story takes the reader on a journey that deals with child abduction and really brings to light not any community is free from it.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a story that I can highly recommend to others.
Congratulations to Dana R. Lynn on writing such a thrilling story to add to her series. I will be reading the next story and I anticipate another suspenseful story.

MY REVIEW
WOW! Talk about action, being shot at, murder, it's all in here and makes for a fast paced story. A very good addition to the series. I have really enjoyed all three of the books that I've read in the series so far. The books 'could' be read as stand alone but I do like that I've read them in order. Looking forward to reading "Amish Country Ambush" when I get a copy and "Amish Christmas Emergency" when it comes out in November.

Early childhood intervention worker Irene Martello's world is being turned upside down when she is in the wrong place at the wrong time. She accidentally witnesses a child abduction ring operating in LaMar, Pennsylvania.
Police Chief Paul Kennedy takes charge of the case when he needs to protect Irene as well as help reunite a sweet Amish toddler with her family.
There is lots of heart pounding intense action packed moments in the book. The author does a great job with the main villan. He really exuded evil and malice.
The chemistry between Irene and Paul is palpable. They share a past as high school sweethearts but each went on to a different future. Irene is a widowed wife of a police officer with two young sons. She struggles with her faith as well as her feelings for Paul. Paul wonders if he can ever forget his true love.
There is a wonderful faith message woven into the story.
This is a great book for suspense lovers with some Amish aspects as well.
An amazing adrenaline rush romantic suspense novel!
I absolutely love the main characters in this wonderful book! The baggage that both Irene and Paul are carrying is understandable and I was really hoping to see them move beyond it and admit to how they felt. Mary is a sweetheart and I wanted to just wrap her up in a big hug and protect her myself.
The plot of the story is fantastic. We were let in on the information of who the bad guys were fairly early on. But WOW! The details about the depth of danger they were in, was built upon throughout the book! I was caught up in the story hook, line, and sinker! There was no way that I would be able to put this book aside for something else until the bad guys were caught and everyone was safe again.
I received a free copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.
I really enjoyed the book. The story is about Irene Martello a widow. She lost her husband who was a policeman while he was on duty. Irene is now a special needs counselor. After a home visit with a client she finds herself pursued by a man in a truck shooting at her. After being run off the road, she hears a mewing sound and the police find a 2 yr with Down syndrome hidden in the back of her car. She is attached that night again and so the mystery gets deeper. Paul Kennedy, the chief of police, and long time friend has to act quickly to unravel this mystery that is becoming deadly. Can he protect Irene and her two children. A quick read because the reader doesn’t want to put book down.
Irene was going to a house to do a home visit and she pulls up to the wrong house. While she is there she sees something she shouldn't. When she goes to the right house which is just the next driveway over she is there about an hour. As she gets in her car to leave the guy from the wrong house chases her car with a gun. She calls it in and the police show up in time to keep him from killing her this time.
The Officer who comes to her rescue is the Police Chief Paul, Paul also used to be her boyfriend years ago until he just walked out of her life.
Its a really good book that I think you will enjoy. I know I did.
This is a well written story that has a bit of everything. Intrigue, romance, secrets, children. The story grabs your attention and heart and keeps. It is a story of reclaimed faith, friendship, rescue and return. Can Paul keep Irene safe? What is Paul's past secret? Can they reunite a family? Step into LaMar Pond and the Amish Community. I recommend all of Dana's books, they are that good. The characters and their stories are all poignant and believable. Faith and reliance on God is a focal point. Grab them and enter the story. You won't be sorry.
An exciting story of Irene a service coordinator for Early Intervention services for children who ends up in the middle of a kidnapping ring's sights when a child is hidden in her car. The one person who can help her stay alive is Paul, the chief of police and high school boyfriend who hurt her. She is afraid of getting too close because of the past and her police officer husband was killed in the line of duty. There is so much substance to this story and it is a great read. So go ahead and enjoy an exciting story. I received an advanced copy and this review is voluntary.
Love this series, Irene mistakenly went to the wrong house for a home visit. Now someone is trying to kill her. Paul has loved Irene since high school, but he had a problem so he broke up with her. Irene moved on married someone else, had two children, buried her husband and turned her back on God. This book is about second chances, and God always there even when you turn away from his. Action from beginning to end, car chase, explosions, kidnapping, and murder. Hopefully there will be other books in this series.
Irene happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and saw something that she shouldn't. As a result her life became endangered. An Amish child was kidnapped and she and the police chief tried to find the girl's parents. She finds herself falling for Paul but since her deceased husband had also been a police officer she is uncertain if that is what she wants. She faced plenty of danger, the romance was okay, very little mention of mention of Christmas and some reference to God and christianity. The book had things going for it but for some reason it didn't completely hold my interest.
A little mystery & a little romance . Widow Irene Martello is being shot at. An ex boyfriend Police chief Paul Kennedy received the call of the shooting. After checking to make sure Irene is not hurt he hears a strange sound coming from her car. An Amish toddler is discovered hiding in the car. After several attempts on their life the police start to put the pieces together. Is a kidnapping ring in their town? A really good book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a 5 star read.
This was half (Christian) Hallmark movie and half "people are literally being shot dead AND almost getting blown up by actual bombs" with a side of getting back together with your high school boyfriend who ghosted you - and he proposes the day after you get back together
For "Amish" being in the name, there wasn't that much Amish representation
Overall that was a much wilder ride than I expected, but it was clearly not a book for me. I think this book is for middle aged repressed protestant women who are looking for a little action (not sex - God forbid) in their reading.
This book kept me reading page after page. I did not want to put it down. Irene witnesses something she shouldn’t have but didn’t realize she had. On her way home realizes she’s got an extra person in her car. She’s got a past with police chief Paul. And she realizes she’s still attracted to him but he let her down. They have to re build trust. This book is a complete ride and one you can’t pass up. Dana does an amazing job it’s her best one yet!!!
Suspense, nail biting and hair raising, rumbles through the book. Chief Paul Kennedy races to protect Irene, who he has never stopped loving, and to find and protect a child abductee. We see God's love protection and healing. I loved the exciting book plot, the complex characters and the setting. I recommend this book for those who Christian romantic suspense. An ARC was given to me by the author. My opinions are 100% my own.
Amish Christmas Abduction by Dana R. Lynn is non-stop action. Irene Martello stops at the wrong house by accident and sees something is not right. And then is run off the road and finds a child in her back seat. Wow! what is going on here! Police Chief comes to her rescue and he believes there is a kidnapping ring going on. More action! And they are determined to get the child and stop Irene. This book will keep you intrigued and action to make this a fabulous read. Loved this book.
I read this book on my flight from Minneapolis to Orlando. Fortunately no one was watching the expressions on my face as I read, since I am sure they would have been quite interesting. There certainly were times I had tears in my eyes and times I had to restrain myself from making suitable comments regarding what I had just read. What a fantastic story that held my interest and imagination from the first page to the last. I must admit, it made me wonder how I would react. Don't miss one!
