Looooove the cover.
And so ends the second crossover of Tom King's Batman run, which honestly tells me he either doesn't have enough pull with DC to not participate in crossovers like Snyder did, or he is actually enjoying those and wants to be part of them and honestly if that's the case, it shows!
He is doing an amazing job in both of them, I absolutely loved the night of monster men, even more than The Button!
The Button was way too predictable for me, way too predictable for any watchmen reader, there is only one person who can do shit like that and it's Dr Manhattan.
Finally after this I'll start the war of jokes and riddles. I missed the Joker and I missed the Riddler and it will be so much fun.

What an amazing tease to the Doomsday Clock story this 2017!

All the beats which are related to the DC Universe Rebirth story arc has exceeded all my expectations. DC is on its way (if not already is) to become what it was before: a bastion of hope and golden heroes. Yes this Button story is nothing but a tease and a preview of what is to come. It has revealed maybe too little to the reader's tastes, I agree with that. But great things has to wait. I love how DC Rebirth is being handled right now, dropping related issues from here and there, taking its time to grow instead of the usual 10-story series that weirdly starts with issue #0 (ahem, Secret Empire, ahem).

At this time it is known to everybody that Dr. Manhattan has his hands to whatever is happening and whatever has happened to the DC Universe since the events of Flashpoint. Now we are yet to see other Watchmen characters' involvement in here. Is it just the Big Blue Jon Osterman or are we going to see other Watchmen? I hope that it is the latter. I mean, seeing Rorschach on the roofs Gotham City buildings, brooding over the crime and sin below is 100% sick!

Jay Garrick's brief appearance in this issue gives a strong statement: the DC Universe is on its way to another Golden Age, an age full of optimism and goodness.

Going back, this issue also pays homage to the original Watchmen series, implementing that 9-panel page Watchmen is famous for. Oh I love where this is going.

The Flash #22 / The Button #4 - 3.5 out of 5 stars

The BUTTON - 4.5 out of 5 stars

What I liked

Action-packed from the first issue, with detective works from DC's 2 prime Detectives , some real emotional moments (specially for Batman ) , confirmation of the identity of the reason for Rebirth , and a near return for one epic character .

The issue was solid , with the plot intense throughout giving both Batman and Flash fans a lot of entertainment and the art complementing the story well enough and never letting the plot down . The ending has opened a few new avenues for Batman and Flash and really hypes reader for the "DOOMSDAY CLOCK"

What I didn't Like :

In the end , just like Attack on Titans season 2 (don't get me started) this story arc , though entertaining, failed to answer any questions of its audience apart from the most obvious ones that the readers already knew the answer of. Instead there were more questions created . This is obviously smart from DC for they want to keep the mystery alive and hype their next mega event , but I'd lie if I didn't admit to having been disappointed by the lack of any big reveal.

Conclusion :

Must buy for Batman fans atleast, and for DC rebirth fans also , although be prepared to be let down by lack of major revelations

Effectively, we learned absolutely nothing. At least, that's how it feels, and that pretty much makes this miniseries a bust.

The point of this 4-issue arc was for Barry and Bruce to tag team an investigation.

And they came up with nada.

Kind of a let down.

Even the reveal in the epilogue was just confirmation of what everyone has already guessed.

Well, we still have a mystery on our hands. I hoped to see a Batman & flash vs Manhattan moment even for a second, but the thing with Jay made me ask another question, there is no "multiverse" anymore?
Can't wait for the answers

I have to admit I was hoping for a little more in this issue. Like some actual answers. Was still a good issue and the ending basically confirmed Dr Manhattan as this "god" but waiting until November for the Doomsday clock is a bit much!!

Also needs more Superman 😋

What I really loved here is the cover. Really cute tribute to the very first issue of The Flash Comics. Everything else, though... nope. The whole issue feels a lot like they've just put a lot of stuff together. Stuff that doesn't really fit together. We've got Jay Garrick. He didn't play any real purpose here. With him, it was a lot like with Wally in DC Universe Rebirth, only Wally actually played an important role. Jay? Just for looks at this point. We've got a lot of talks, but most of them are pretty much stating the obvious. But yay! Jon Osterman was finally revealed. Which was supposed to be a big thing, but man, it was obvious... They also tried to imitate Watchmen on the last few pages, but... it wasn't even as cool as in DC Universe Rebirth. The whole Watchmen thing feels really forced. Like that one guy with no ear for music in karaoke, trying to imitate Elvis without much luck... The Button arc wasn't the worst thing out there, but the last chapter was a big disappointment, really. Nothing really happens, except of useless talks and poor attempt to imitate Watchmen.

The two writers have done what they could to begin a set up for the upcoming series. In th end the each had to make a stretch. Being the completist, as I am, I wanted to read these as they are both a part of series I am following. The story is not bad, but it’s just one very small piece in a much larger whole and if you don’t read the whole, there is not much to this.

Shocking, the big Rebirth event storyline ends in the tease of another event we won't see for months. What a wonderful thing I've invested my time in.

After waiting for half the month, my LCS finally got this one in! It was a good conclusion to the crossover, but the crossover in its entirety was a bit of a let down. Hopefully Doomsday Clock will be better come November.

The 4th of 4 parts, but we still have a mystery on our hands. Looks like that won't be answered until the Doomsday Clock storyline in Nov of 2017. Maybe. Still a good story, I do not normally collect either Flash or Batman, but this was a good Flashpoint type thriller. Will it make Batman slow down a bit and stop to smell the roses.

This is an excerpt of Nerdent's review of The Flash (2016-) #22 (http://www.nerdent.net/2017/05/17/fla...)
“The Button” is not what everyone wants as it only establishes something DC fans have known for a while now…Doctor Manhattan is in the DC Universe. We will get more information in November as the ACTUAL event will enlighten us on the origins of the DC Rebirth.

The lesser of four evils? This was the most entertaining of the four issues of "The Button" which did end up being a non-event in the end. Instead of really pushing the story or bringing something new, it took four issues to confirm something most people already strongly suspected. In the end, this ends up being a teaser for a teaser which is a substantial let down. I built my hopes up with the hype and they were beaten down with the first issue and ground down with subsequent ones. Instead of buying this, just ask your friend who read it to sum it up for you. It'll take less than two minutes to do so.

Warning Spoiler!!

I don't usually do this, but this time I have to...

A great conclusion for The Button series, maybe a bit too much stuff stay unanswered, but a very good story overall. I had saw the ending coming for a while with the comedian smiley and the «blue god» that was Dr. Manhattan. Great crossover from all point.

The Button is a must read for comic fan!!

😠😠

So I am starting to feel beyond irritated with dc comics. Mainly bc they put out what set rebirth into motion....but havent done enough to finally explore it. It's been a year and this is what they are giving us? How is this acceptable? It was a good storyline and okay set up but we've been waiting a while to find out anythinf about this particular storyline. Not to mention the identity of the joker storyline....now i have to wait until November for this to finally be covered? Not cool dc....not cool at all...
