Christmas in Colorado

The men in Marti Johanssen's life seem determined to ruin her Christmas. Her teenage son wants to move in with his dad; her father wants her to reconcile with her ex so the Colorado family ranch will be in "capable" hands. And for some reason, Gil, her ex-husband, is being more attentive than he ever was during their marriage.

Fortunately Rick Dennehy, the attractive widower next door, seems quite happy not to be involved in Marti's life. He's made it perfectly clear that he's back in Colorado only for as long as it takes to sell his property.

Too bad. Marti's beginning to wish she had a man like Rick under her Christmas tree.

"Let It Snow" by Sherry Lewis is a heartwarming holiday tale that captures the essence of Christmas in Colorado. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and found it to be a delightful and engaging read, deserving of a solid four stars.

The novel revolves around Marti Johanssen, who is facing a Christmas season filled with family turmoil and unexpected attention from her ex-husband, Gil. Marti's character is relatable and endearing, and her struggles to navigate the challenges thrown her way make for a compelling narrative. Sherry Lewis skillfully portrays Marti's emotional journey, making her a character readers can truly root for.

The backdrop of the Colorado family ranch and the festive Christmas setting add to the book's charm. Lewis paints a vivid picture of the snow-covered landscape and the cozy holiday atmosphere, making it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the story.

What truly shines in this novel is the development of relationships. The dynamics between Marti, her son, her father, and her ex-husband are authentic and emotionally resonant. The unexpected bond that forms with her attractive neighbor, Rick Dennehy, adds an intriguing layer to the narrative. Rick's character brings a breath of fresh air to Marti's life, and their interactions are filled with warmth and chemistry.

While "Let It Snow" is a delightful holiday romance, it also explores the complexities of family, forgiveness, and second chances. Sherry Lewis skillfully weaves these themes into the story, leaving readers with a heartwarming message about the true meaning of Christmas.

My only reason for not giving this book a full five stars is that, at times, the plot felt slightly predictable. However, this did not diminish my overall enjoyment of the story, as the characters and their emotional journeys were the true highlights.

In conclusion, "Let It Snow" is a perfect read to get into the holiday spirit. Sherry Lewis has crafted a touching and well-written novel that captures the magic of Christmas and the power of love and forgiveness. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a heartwarming holiday romance with relatable characters and a beautiful Colorado backdrop. Four stars well earned!

Sweet, clean romance. You just want to smack Cameron upside the head, a DiNozzo (a la NCIS). Lynette is just delusional.

LET IT SNOW is a contemporary romance that takes place around Christmas time. Rick Dennehy lost his wife two years before, a week before Christmas. They had purchased some land in Colorado and built some cabins with the intention of eventually living there. Bitterness took its place where hope previously existed. All Rick wanted to do was sell the buildings and land and forget the hurt feelings they brought. The problem was they were now falling apart for lack of use. It would cost him too much to hire someone to fix them up so he decided to use his vacation to get them back in order. Then he would finally leave.

Marti Johansson was back in Colorado to visit her father. Her son Cameron was with her. She was hoping they would both finally fix their relationship. Cameron blamed Marti for the divorce from his dad. Her father also had misunderstandings about why she was no longer married. She was hoping for a special time for healing their grudges.

By accident, literally, Rick and Marti meet. From there on, the story flows. Gil, Marti's ex-husband reappears and causes some resentment. Thoughts of Rick's deceased wife are hovering in the background. Lastly, Cameron and Marti's father still have anger that they need to let go. Surprisingly, with all these problems, Rick and Marti reach out to each other and learn to forgive their own pasts. If you are looking for a light Christmas romance this is a good book to read.
