The man's screams filled the night air... In a flurry of blood and foam, the huge, blunt snout held George in its vice-like grip, throwing him from side to side--shaking him by one leg like a rag doll. Anna was frozen in a moment of horror. As she screamed, the gator tore off the leg and slipped into the depths to swallow its meal while George screamed in agony, spurting scarlet foaming blood on the beach.

"That old killer was sure going to get his tonight, that was for certain."

‘Jaws’ is one of my favorite books. There’s nothing that comes close to comparing it to. Seeing this book made me intrigued because you’re comparing yourselves to one of the most popular books. With that being said, I walked into this extremely skeptical. I’m glad that I tiptoed in because this was not more terrifying nor did it come close to being better.

I cannot tell you how many times they mentioned that the gator was old, injured, and looking for dead flesh. Umm we know. I think they needed to fill some pages and that was the way to do it.

The story was absolutely bonkers. Old swamp land, a special delivery, men who can’t keep it in their pants, and an old killer gator. I kept thinking to myself, what else will there be? And there was always more. Plus that end gave ‘Night of the Living Dead’ vibes and that was my favorite part about this.

While the deaths were gory and the story was crazy. This was an okay read. Nothing really sticks out nor is it memorable. The tagline on the cover would definitely help sell books but it was far from the truth. I’m glad I read this because it was a true wild adventure.

Fun 70s eco-horror schlock time capsule, couldn't put it down. It's the type of fast, gory, action-entertainment that isn't written today, balanced by a deep familiarity with the local ecosystem. A good book to stumble across.
