From the savage maelstrom of the battle of Dronopolis, the Company of the Golden Dragons must now travel to a world of shadows and darkness, where Hooper must meet and defeat his own dark demon.
If he can not—or will not, then all may die, and the quest to save Golden Wind ends in Vay’s evil victory over all of Erdron.
From the ode book comes guidance, but it points toward an unexpected and entirely unwelcome direction. Still, the company has no choice but to journey to a fiendish place where they must fight and defeat monsters, some of their making, behind a dark shroud without any help and where all may perish unbeknownst to the rest of the world.
The journey of the Company of the Golden Dragon continues in book three, A Thunder of Wings in the epic fantasy series The Legend of Hooper’s Dragons.
Born and raised in Texas, USA. Was a voracious reader as a kid, loved science fiction and fantasy but would read most anything, including the encyclopedia and dictionary. 20-year US military veteran. Married for 43 years to the same wonderful angel of a woman. Began writing a few years ago, but don't consider myself a professional author, just someone who's trying to tell a good story for others to enjoy.
The series is still going strong with a few more surprises, not to mention a moment of misty eyes for me. Though I am still enjoying the story and characters, I must admit that Darby tends to write a LOT of stuff into just a few days of plot. It makes for long books, that sometimes get a little winded. Overall though a good read and I shall continue with the series as I am enjoying it. :)
A lot happens and some sad some happy. That dog funny. Wish Golden wind would just admit her love for Hooper. The way she wants to always save him and be by his side. They need more moments together. At times wish Cara would just stop and go to Helmar as she just wants Hooper cause he gem guardian. The way Hooper going on is not love more like forced emotions and plot wise. Just pay attention to how Golden wind acts and what she does and you see true love not false love. Vay needs to just die lol. Guess if she was killed there wouldn't be 2 more books in the series. Good book go read it.
I love reading about dragons so I started this book and almost pot it back down after the first chapter. I felt like I was reading a 6th graders book but the story had just enough 'grab' that ii decided to finish the book. At its end I wasn't sure how I felt so I didn't leave a review. After a day I found myself constantly thinking about Hoopers story so I got book 2. It seemed to be written better so I quickly got book 3. Now I'm about to get book 4 and just want to finish this review so I can get started on it. Yes, these books are good and I recommend them. :)
I love fantasy, i love heroes who don't want to be the hero, I love smart insightful dragons, this has that and more! This is a fast paced thrill ride! Hooper is learning to be what he needs to be.. The Gem Guardian. I can't wait for the next in the series.. And the next ...
