"You hate me? Show me how much you hate me," Ajay growled, pulling her even closer.
Sia and Ajay's story began where most romances ended. Instead of a happily-ever-after, their marriage began with Sia's manipulation and lies. However, over the course of time, they opened up to each other, each willing to work it out between them for the sake of their unborn child. And soon, it wasn't just about the baby. They had both fallen in love with each other.
But their happiness didn't last long. Dark secrets and betrayal were revealed. And this time, it was Ajay's manipulation and lies that were threatening to tear them apart.
With broken promises and lack of trust, will Sia and Ajay find their happily ever after? Or was their love doomed from the start?
Find out in—RUTHLESS.
WARNING: This book contains graphic violence and sexual content that is recommended for mature reading audiences only.
This is book continues the story of Ajay & Sia from ‘Soulless’. It is fast paced but the story is fairly predictable and comes across as hoping to be made as a Bollywood movie.
The first book set the tone well – Sia has a plan in mind and Ajay coincidentally enters her life at a crucial time. Neither of them has been truthful with each other. Sia has suffered abuse in childhood which continues to torment her.
The story moves quickly, and yet the story in this book is weak. There are a number of very predictable and ordinary episodes as part of the narrative.
This is not a bad book to relax with, though there is almost nothing to remember it by.
If Soulless was Sia’s story, Ruthless belongs to Ajay. Ruthless is the sequel of Soulless by author M V Kasi.
Child abuse has become rampant everywhere nowadays. But sadly the abuser roams scot-free while the abused goes into his/her shell with a battered soul and mind.
If Soulless was addictive, Ruthless is just UNPUTDOWNABLE. Usually in sequels, sometimes the plot is revealed, and the track becomes predictable, thus making the reader lose interest, but not in this case.
Ruthless keeps you on hook till the very end. The twist and turns in the story makes the book unputdownable and keeps the reader guessing ‘What next?’
Ruthless is a proper balance of romance, suspense, mystery, revenge and human emotions.
I absolutely loved reading this series for its story, the pace, author’s style of writing, and the characters, all. Ruthless is a must read, no matter what genre you like.
The book is just too good, overwhelmed with too many emotions and I'm pretty sure I burnt a minimum of 100 kcals with the adrenaline rush produced with every twists and turns in this series! An absolute must read for Romance junkies who want something different from the same old Bad Boy Romances.
The book starts where left in Soulless. The plot is fast-paced, stable, and engrossed. If the Soulless focuses on Sia's life, then Ruthless explains Ajay's life. The story hooks you at the beginning of the book with suspense, thriller, mystery, breathtaking twist-turns, and wonderful romance.
Sia's character is as strong as before but becomes more mature, emotional and starts to think more differently. Sia is a strong-willed woman, bold, badass, more attractive to me than the first book.
Ajay's character is different from the first book. He was a funny, calm, and cool man but dangerous, dark, cold, and ruthless. Nothing, I am expecting at the start, when Ajay's past connects the dots of the main story that clear his behavior. The name of the book referred to Ajay's character.
New characters are introduced to us, filling the missing pieces of the story. Ajay and Sia were not only fighting with their demons, feelings but also with each other. Their chemistry becomes more intense and hot. If Soulless shows their after-marriage problems, this book tells us the struggles to stay in the forced marriage and divorce issue.
The theme of the story is dark and violent. The story enlightened the social issues like child abuse, Domestic violence, child trafficking, injustice. It also shows how the same incident or abuse has a different effect on children.
The writing style of the story is simple and easy to read, with a happy ending. M.V. Kasi never disappoints me. I appreciate the efforts of the author to research the social issues shown in the story effectively. For me, the ending of the series is perfect, happily ever after with flaws that make the story more real. The book starts with the throne path and finishes with a peaceful destination.
This book is the second book in the Revenge Game Series and when this book got released I was so eager to read it.. When I started reading it, I instantly fell in love with the consistency in the novel. The way the author has maintained the link with the previous novel is impeccable. The suspense, thriller, love are beautifully delineated.
The narration along with emotions is just awestruck and the more I read, the more I fell in love with the author's writing style. Kuddos to the author for making such a base with the first book that it forced me to read the second book.
This is the second (and final) book in the Revenge Games Series, which is a duology featuring Soulless (the book which contains the introduction of the story that is continued & concluded here) & this book, Ruthless.
Now I know that there are books in some duologies that work as standalone reads as well. However, you can't read either of these books as standalones, as the Revenge Games Series is essentially one big story, which has been broken down into two parts/two books - Soulless & Ruthless.
Speaking of which, Ruthless picks up right where Soulless ends, but while Soulless was mostly Sia's story, it's Ajay's POV that takes dominance in Ruthless, while never really veering away from Sia & her tale of revenge either. I have to say that I found it really interesting to see how well the author has integrated the two story lines and POVs.
Much like Soulless, Ruthless is pretty fast paced, with several twists & turns, some of them I saw coming, but many of them took me by surprise, and all of them were leading to the concluding sequence, which I must say was handled very well.
And for that I'm grateful, because after reading 2 books, I was really invested in how things turn out for the protagonists. Moreover, considering what Ajay & Sia had gone through, I knew there was no easy solution. Which is why, I have to commend the author for coming up with such a gratifying conclusion to this saga.
My only grouse with this book, is the same issue I had with Soulless. Both these books really needed one more round of proof-reading.
Nonetheless, I'd still recommend this book (and series) to fans of this genre, as this is a subject that certainly needs more awareness, and it's also a tale very well told.
Ruthless by M.V. Kasi is the sequel to Soulless and continues the story forward with more secrets revealed and even more twists and turns that take your breath away.
This is indeed a ruthless story that ruthlessly extracted intense and a myriad of emotions from me. I cried my eyes out; felt angry at the injustice and cruelty of society; prayed like anything for a happily-ever-after for my favourite couple and then prayed some more so the real villains got what they deserved!
A through and through memorable book, the ending left me feeling content and overjoyed to see justice prevailing and happily-ever-afters achieved.
Fast paced with crisp narration, MV Kasi again shows her writing prowess in this book and made it a book worthy of being featured in Njkinny's list of the Best Books of 2018!
5 super shiny stars out of 5 to Ruthless by M.V Kasi and Njkinny recommends it to all romantic suspense lovers above the age of eighteen. Don't wait for even a second and go grab the Revenge Games series now!
"The symptoms of loving and hating someone are the same too. For example, the stomach twists at the thought of them. The heart beats faster at the thought of them. They make you lose sleep and appetite at the thought of them. And during every interaction with them, you lose control of your mind and body. You'd be so consumed by them that you cannot think of anything but them."
Having read 'Soulless', the first part of this book I was desperately waiting for the second part to find a closure to the story of Sia. Sia and Ajay, two people who come together for all the wrong reasons like revenge and vengeance start falling in love with each other. Both the protagonists are fighting their own demons while leading their lives as a couple. Ruthless, the part 2 of the story was partly from Ajay's perspective. The book sobsuccintly puts forth the point that every person has their own way of dealing with their past. Some make themselves stronger n go beyond the trauma while some others live in pain and suffering. This book is a very fast paced almost like a thriller as there are many revelations n twists and turns in the story. There is never a dull moment. The topic of social evil of child sexual abuse and trafficking were dealt with very maturely n the author very neatly portrayed the various traumas both physical and psychological that these children undergo n grow up with. Kudos to the author for highlighting this social evil through the story.
Book#7_2019 : Soulless Book#8_2019: Ruthless by MV Kasi
This is a story about how Child abuse can severely impact the psychology of the victim. People who are fortunate to have a happy childhood may not easily co-relate to the trauma which a child may have to go through, in case of physical and/or mental abuse at a tender age.
Book1-Souless is more about Sia who plans to take revenge against her uncle who had repeatedly raped her at the age of 9 until she was fortunate to have escaped with the help of her teacher.
Book2-Ruthless is more about her husband Ajay who has also had a not-so-happy childhood after killing his own dad when he was seven followed by suicide by his mom a bit later. His mom was the teacher who had saved Sia from her monster uncle.
Both the books have been well written except for a few grammatical mistakes and a lot of adult content. Anyway, the story revolves around these two with a lot of twists and turns and eventually how they are able to take revenge on their uncle.
This one was a little disappointing. It didn’t match the vibe of first one because this one turned out to be like a bollywood movie. And it didn’t even make any sense. The characters were turning more and more grey. I don’t have any issue with that but do it nicely. Sia is suddenly busting the party, Varun is suddenly very brave to face the people in the said party even though he was kinda a meek character, Sia is fighting bad men left and right … Ajay is killing people … Everything about this one was boring.
I won’t leave this review without mentioning that I hated Ajay a little bit in this book. Because his childhood experiences were not the same as Sia, so I knew he couldn’t understand properly what all Sia went through and how it changed the trajectory of her life. But him saying why didn’t she do anything or why did she keep quiet while the uncle did the shit is just so unfair to Sia or any other kid in that situation.
Beautiful ending of this sequel. Like the previous story in the sequel the author had me truly on engrossed in the plot and twists and turns. The plot was strong and fast paced and total page turner. I had fallen for Ajay's character in Soulless and he didn't cease to impress me with his perfect husband persona in Ruthless. Sia character was as well defined and multifaceted as it was in Soulless . Sad the story has ended it was truly a beautiful and emotional roller coaster with too many twists. Just loved this series. MV kasi doesn't cease to disappoint me . Anyone who wants to read a good story with a solid well defined plot and strong character and unexpected twists with all the added condiments of romance, suspense, drama shouldn't miss this series. Looking forward to what you will be coming up next.
This book is very interesting and unputdownable!!! It is fast pacing, thrilling, with a lot of suspense and have many unexpected twists!!
Author tells about how marriage influenced the life of both Sia and Ajay..Both of them lie, hate and manipulate each other but still they feel there is some love that binds them together..They slowly start trusting each other but their urge for revenge acts as a hindrance!!! Whether they are able to overcome it and live happily ever after makes the story interesting!!
Its been a long wait....after reading Souless, I was desperately waiting to read the other half and ending part of the story....I am very much glad that the author has not disappointed me.....a book full of love, lust, suspense, memories, relations and above all a message....on how the person can change or can become when get deprived of love or when loved by anyone with heart....I recommend this book...Being read all your books M.V. Kasi....I am eagerly waiting for the new one to hit the stands....Kudos to your work....Keep writing and keep entertaining.....
After a fantastic first book, with Soulless, this one was a little bit of a letdown. There was a lot happening and became a bit hard to follow. I also disliked that this became yet another hero pursues heroine for revenge story, like the other books by this author.
It was a chance encounter with "Soulless" that landed me at the doors of the character that is Sia Sampath. ..I am glad I came across Sia and Ajay's story. May every Sia find her Ajay and win over the demons haunting them for so long, i would have given 5 stars if it was less dramatic, although this book is unputdownable .I look forward to reading some more by MV Kasi.
Loved both the book in the Revenge Games book series. The plot was interesting with lots of twists and surprises. Loved Jay and Sia and their unique chemistry. Looking forward to read more of MV Kasi’s books
The engrossing storyline...grips you n keeps you hooked till the end....thrilling n full of suspense...with strong and purposeful characters telling you about themselves
It was well worth the waiting! I enjoyed this book even more than "Soulless". I was kept turning the pages and I did not rest until I had finished it. I'm looking forward to future books by MV Kasi.
A very different book i have read since a long time. This focuses on a societal issue - child abuse and its impact. Did become violent and horrific at times, but necessary for the plot.
This is a sequel to Soulless by this author. I have read this book on kindle; available in kindle unlimited in India.
Absolutely intense storyline, dragging Sia & Ajay & their relationship through a rocky road. Their love & trust is new & fragile & they are faced by demons from the past. Despite her love for Ajay & his support, Sia chooses to tackle her challenges herself, again & again.
As opposed to the first book, this story is quite fast. Too many abrupt twists & turns.
