The final book in Alison Ryan's second chance romance trilogy...

Norah Pruitt and Macon Moultrie once thought of themselves as star-crossed lovers. The kind who travel through time, space, and past lives to be together. Their love was all passion and fire, built on a foundation of screwed up childhoods and adults who’d disappointed them.

In other words, they were childhood sweethearts.

But becoming adults changed things, as it does. And sometimes, things obliterate a life, and it can’t be put back together.

Not when there are too many pieces to pick up.

Their lives are on different planets these days, but fate has brought them back together, in the city of their youth; Las Vegas, Nevada.

What starts as just another day in Norah’s mundane Vegas life, turns into a chance encounter that changes everything.
In the end they both have to decide if their past is worth letting go of... Or if they’re destined to leave their love where it ended in a desert canyon six years ago.

“We can’t wish or even hope for a better past,” Macon said. “All we can do is work like hell for a better future, a future that belongs to us if we let it.”

Warning: This book is a weep-fest, with a hard road to a guaranteed HEA. It's a second chance, full-length, standalone romance. Norah and Macon's Las Vegas love story is one you'll never forget.

I'm really torn about this one - on one hand it was a clearly emotional read. This definitely isn't a light and fluffy romance - if that is what you are looking for, this is not it. And on the other hand it was well written (although I found the end to be rather rushed).

The story goes back and forth between the past and the present, showing the history of their lives and relationship.

I am giving it a 3 star review because I just didn't really connect to the characters that much. There was more about Norah than Macon - except for in their early history. Then there were moments in the story that I really didn't like Macon that much. There was a very dark point in the story and he just gave up and walked away! I thought what?! How uncaring. He didn't fight for them at all despite this supposedly being the love of his life. Just didn't make sense to me. Also as I mentioned when they do get together in the end it felt very anticlimactic - sort of like, that was it?!

Anyway, if you are looking for an emotional, darker read this may be a good fit for you.

It is quite difficult for me to put in words my inner feelings after reading this amazing book. The binding of three lives whose fate has already decided on their behalf. Macon, Norah and her twin brother Josh meet because they are neighbors, living in trailers. It may seem that their lives is a disgrace but on the contrary they are just happy leaning and depending into one another. Macon will be the one to fall in love with Norah and through the years his love will grow more and more. After the tragic death of her twin brother, Norah will drive away the love of her life but after years their destiny will cross once more their path and finally their love will strenghten. An overwhelming and heartbreaking story, a trip towards the past and the present, what else could I say? My sole advice to the reader: “just grab the book and read it”.

Alison Ryan was on fire when she wrote this book!

Macon and Norah are a "in love since we were 12, true to life story.

I started reading this book at bedtime and fell asleep reading but finished it the next morning as I had my morning coffee. It was just that good!

This book is so much more than and adult love at first sight but of love at a tender young age that only grew stronger as they did and although there were struggles and a lack of confidence by both parties at times in their lives, they could never really be kept apart except by distance which was nothing when their hearts were so connected.

This book as a heart breaker, ugly face crying, sweet, hot, passionate love story, with some mystery thrown in.
I highly recommend this book and author and gladly rated this book 5 stars because I felt it was well written. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

After reading a post by the author saying how difficult this book was to write and then reading the book I understand why. This is a second chance love story between Macon and Norah but it is not an easy story. These to characters have to fight for their happily ever after at every turn. Fate is not kind to them and it is up to the both of them to decided that they are more than their past. The past may have shaped them but their future is theirs to write if they fight for it with all they have. This story takes the reader on an emotional journey with a hard won HEA.

Alrighty!

I chose this rating because this book it was okay. Some of the characters was really creepy especially the guys three guys in the limousine. But I really like him Josh and Norah the twins. But I hate what happened to Josh after he came back from the military. He saw some awful things over there in Iraq. That he couldn't get over. Anyway I am so happy that Norah got back with Macon after she pushed him away for so many years even though they married. And I'm she continued her education. Anyway they got back together and they're happy with their adoptive son. I recommend this book to all romance readers.

I received an ARC for my honest review

I really liked this book. The characters are done well and the story is interesting. The book moves between the past and the present and is very clear about what time period it is talking about. The story is well told and you feel for Norah, Macon and Josh.
All the things that happen in Norah's life make her think that she isn't worth good things, including Macon. This story is about love, friendship, heartbreak, and perseverance.

I'm happy with the ending and how everything worked out.

Give this book a try.

Alison Ryan has become a master of developing characters that the reader can relate to. In this story, Macon and Norah have a life that is filled with heartbreak and misfortune, but the love that they feel for each other is the bright light at the end of the tunnel. Tragedy strikes and separation happens but true love never dies. My heart was broken while reading this book and I could not put it down. But good things come to those who wait and the ending brought me to tears, although happy ones. Great job Alison. I highly recommend this book.

my face isnt chapped from all the tears running down it...nope...not at all..okay, it totally and completely is a chapped, snotted up mess. THAT ENDING! gah! definitely my favorite of the three in this series. i didnt think a book could be much better than Covet...but here it is! be prepared for a total book hangover! the twin connection part was so intense... i have a love-hate relationship with it now. written so well, yet so gut wrenching. i want to keep gushing, but im just going to end up giving the plot away.

I love me some Alison Ryan! I was happy to hear that Relent would be coming soon, I have enjoyed the other books in the Love Me Again series.
This last book- is a sad tale of unimaginable hardships, frustrating relationships, strong bonds, love lasting through the years, and heartbreak.
An emotionally charged sweet and sensual ending to the second chance books!

Relent can be read as a standalone. It is the 3rd book in the Love Me Again Series. It is a second chance romance and so much more. Life has been cruel for Norah and her twin brother Josh. It has not been much better for Macon. Fate brought them together as children. Tragedy separated them. And once again fate has brought them back to each other. Relent is a must read! I finished this book in 1 day! I could not stop reading it!

**I received this ARC in exchange for an honest voluntary review** Loved this short emotional story of best friends, love at first sight & second chances. Well developed characters of Macon & the twins Norah & Josh. The relationship between the friends is so beautiful, especially how it starts off. Loved how the story bounced from present to past, seeing the friendship blossom alongside the relationship of Macon & Norah. Laugh out loud moments, heartwarming & heartwrenching scenes galore. Some of the best writing I've read. Would absolutely recommend! :D

Finding Love and Happiness!

This is an amazing, second chance bittersweet romance and love story of Macon and Norah that spans years and the pain and loss they endured. A well written story with a detailed back story. Alison Ryan weaves a story with unforgettable characters that touches your emotions and leaves you wanting more. I enjoyed Macon and Norah's journey from turmoil to a second chance at happiness and their forever after.

Touches on every emotion

Whew. Feel like I should give a spoiler alert warning. My mom is a twin so parts of this were really hard to read. Literally couldn't see through the tears. Props to Alison for making it effortless to connect to the characters and feel invested in the outcome.

Another fantastic read!!

Alison Ryan has done it again! I couldn't put Relent down. It was a little darker than what Alison usually writes but WOW was it good! I hate spoilers so you won't find any here. But Norah and Macon will have you rooting for them from beginning to end.

Loved it!

Good story , best of the three, with deeply wounded characters building the life they deserved. Lots of descriptive details created a well-rounded story. A few distracting editing problems kept it from being perfect but still enjoyable.

What a sweet romance! I loved this book. The chemistry between Macon and Norah was apparent since they were 12 years old. So much happened to them for their happily ever after😢. I highly recommend this book.
