When times get tough, the tough stage one scorching-hot intervention.
Morgan is happy that her best friend Kate is expecting the crew’s littlest member, but helping renovate a room for a nursery is more than she can bear. Baby furniture and pastel paint are a painful reminder that she and Joe can’t—and will never—conceive. There’s no hiding it from the rest of the close-knit crew, either.
True to their unique brand of love, the gang rallies to find a non-traditional solution to alleviate their friends’ suffering. Not with a cold, clinical visit to a sperm donation clinic, but delivering it the old-fashioned way. With a healthy dose of searing passion.
But soon after Morgan’s scorching hot night with her husband’s four best friends, an accident threatens the life of one of those men. The challenges that lie ahead will test the crew’s powerful bond to the limit—and their long-standing promise to take care of each other through good, bad, and sexy times. Whatever it takes…
Warning: Not everything in life turns out as planned, but with love all odds are surmountable. Especially when those odds include five hot construction workers on your side. Contains m/m/f group ménage scenes.

Ever since I was first introduced to the Powertools crew I have been hooked on those handsome construction workers wondering if they really exist somewhere in the world. With Powertools, Jayne Rylon has created a group of characters filled with trust, passion, love and acceptance for one another that is sinfully sexy and beyond beautiful both inside and out. While the books can stand alone individually, they are best read in order unless you want to spoil the progression of the relationships that build throughout the stories. In Hammer It Home, we begin where Nailed To The Wall left off.
Joe and Morgan have come to grips with the fact that they are unable to conceive. While that in itself is difficult for the couple, being around a very pregnant Kate is a constant reminder of what Morgan cannot have. The relationship between Joe and Morgan is struggling and Joe’s feelings of being inadequate put a strain on their ability to communicate. When Morgan and Joe finally break down and air the feelings they have harbored, the crew is right there with them and ready to show just how dedicated they are to the happiness of their family. In true Powertools fashion, they plan a picture perfect evening of bliss filled with gorgeous naked men and Morgan in the middle. With all of her friends by her side, Morgan is given a gift from each of the men that will hopefully lead to the child she and Joe have always wanted.
Anxiously waiting to see if their efforts worked, the crew continues with their day to day lives. After weeks go by and Morgan falls ill while out with Kayla, she is rushed home while Joe and Dave head out to check on them. When things don’t go quite as planned, the lives of the entire crew are turned upside down as they are forced to face a tragedy that could change their lives forever. It is up to the entire crew to pull together and show their support in order to prove that love, trust, and friendship can get them through even the darkest of times.
What an emotional ride! I cried happy tears, and sad tears as I gripped the edge of my seat wondering how this would turn out. I have fallen in love with each of these characters throughout the series and my heart broke in the last book when Kayla and Joe discovered they could not have children. Once again I am enthralled with the love and acceptance the crew has for one another and in this story, they introduce a couple of new characters that I am curious about (Jayne Rylon, is there is new series coming our way with these sexy mechanics?). I am a reader that is not shy about liking various types of relationships and I simply love that Jayne conveys such a beautiful connection between the men and the women in these stories. The way the men accept one another sexually is beautiful and at times raw and honest. They don’t label eachother as gay, straight, or bi, they simply enjoy being sexual in whatever way they feel comfortable. That those same men look to their women while enjoying the company of other men shows their strength and confidence in who they are and that they are honest with what they enjoy sexually. The support the women show for one another is gentle and touching as well and highlights the strength the women draw from one another both sexually and emotionally.
What is most inspiring to me is the way the crew comes together to pull one of their own out of a very dark place. When tragedy strikes and giving up seems like the only option, they refuse to let this person give up and give them no choice but to love both physicially and emotionally in order to see that things will be alright. While the stories are short, they always blow me away and leave me wishing I could be part of that little circle even if for one night. Another great chapter in the Powertools saga that left this book addict very satisfied!
What can I say?? I LOVE this series so much! I love all the characters and was heartbroken at the end of the last book for Morgan and Joe....but Jayne wouldn't leave us hanging like that, so I knew she'd make it all HEA before she ended the series. This story is a true mix of the characters, but mostly focused on Joe & Morgan's desire to have a baby and all that the crew is willing to do to make that happen. I dare you not to have to take a break with either a boy or a toy while reading this one....LOL! And then there is the other part of the story....Dave and Kay....but I really can't say too much without ruining the story for you, so I'll just leave it at that. This one was emotional. But I think it was even more emotional because it's the end of the series....I hate that! I am super psyched for the new series coming out about Joe's cousin and the mechanics...if it's as hot as this series is I'll need to buy more batteries....
Omg this is what you would call an emotional roller-coaster ride First Morgan and Joe found out the he is sterile and they've been trying for a baby, So the Crew step up and help her get pregnant 3 week later Morgan passes out and on the same day that they find out she's At the hospital because everyone is rushing there because Dave one of the Crew members Was in an accident with a semi You have to read the series to know what is going on. But there was a little this And some of this And a whole lotta both all in one big sexy orgy
Dammit the only reason I’m giving this a 4 is because it had some real drama that happened and it was well handled. I have to give credit where credits due. This series has taken me by surprise. What started as a free read of the bind of books 1 and 2 on iBooks has turned into a series binge of mammoths proportions. I was not expecting this series to have developed like it did and I was not expecting to like it as much either. There is a seventh book but it isn’t available at my library and it’s like a holiday one it seems. Either way when I get to it I’m sure it’ll be fun.
YAY! Everything wasn't about Devon this time around!!
Wow. What the crew did for Morgan & Joe was beautiful. Every touch, every word, every intense look, every reassurance... I loved that long, sexy, detailed scene with all of them. Now I'm REALLY curious as to who is the !
So, so happy with how things turned out for everyone in this book!
Excited to read the next book in the series, More the Merrier. I can only imagine what kind of Christmas gifts these guys will give to one another! :)
This series is not your usual love story. Unconventional, emotional the author draws you in and makes you care about this group. Sexy and steamy love scenes add to the gripping story of love in its many forms. Great ending to this series but I am sure we haven’t seen the last of the crew.
Summary Hammer It Home by Jayne Rylon is the 6th book in the Powertools series where a crew of construction workers and their significant others explore both their individual and group relationship dynamics via a series of ever expanding sexual encounters. The series doesn't have to be read in order or even all of them for the latest book to make sense, however, diving into the series without reading any of the previous books is likely to leave you very confused as there are a lot of characters with full back stories. This series has long been a favorite guilty pleasure of fans everywhere. However, Hammer It Home lacks the sense of fun and mischief the other Powertools books have not to mention lacking the stimulating sex scenes. This installment is not as satisfying as others for smut lovers, and is recommended only for starry eyed romantics or die hard series fans. It's probably not worth the $3-4 cover price for most readers.
Fantasy World It's a little hard to swallow that that many people with different personalities can get along so well and all revel in a soft blanket of group love. Except for Morgan, the ladies mostly sit this one out as they defer their own needs in favor of their friend whose needs are greater. This much selflessness without even a hint of jealousy is a bit unusual and therefore a bit of a bungee cord.
Tingle Factor Jayne Rylon loses her normal arousing touch in Hammer It Home. The first sex scene which takes up nearly half the book, is constantly interrupted by wet blanket conversations on which even the characters comment -“Now stop talking...” “You're killing me with all this talk.” At one point when they once again start talking their feelings to death, one of the characters starts to lose his erection in the middle of screwing a luscious lady. The author embraces the ever expanding love theory of polyamory and it's like watching that annoying Showtime series. Subsequent sex scenes are slightly better, but Jayne Rylon is definitely off her stride.
Romance “Romance blossomed in every nook and cranny of the space.” The author describes the book best. There is so much love going on it becomes cloying like bad perfume.
Drama Hammer It Home starts with emotional upheaval over infertility and then moves on to a gut wrenching incident. These events feel more like tools to allow the characters to wallow in more group love than actual plot points.
Heroine Morgan is more annoying than in her introduction book, Morgan's Surprise. She's less independent business woman and more crazy bitch. She has some good reasons for the change, but it doesn't make it any more fun to read.
Heroes Joe is the main character of Hammer It Home, although the other crew members get significant face time. They are all still hot as sin and comfortable with their sexuality. The guys never disappoint.
As the final book in the "Powertools" series, this was a pretty emotional read on so many levels. After spending 6 books getting to know and love these nine characterscit is deffinatley bittersweet to say goodbye. Thankfully, this book provides the necessary closure I was hoping for. It also opens the door for Jayne Rylon's next series involving another sexy group. This book is definitely has its fair share of hot love scenes but also covers a lot of serious issues as well. I was practically in tears over the group rallying together to help Morgan and Joe conceive a child in their typical unconventional manner that was no less special for being incredibly erotic. I love how the crew checks their egos and jealousies at the door when it comes to supporting each other by whatever means necessary. His group truly is a family in every sense of the word and when any one person is down the rest are able to hold them up no matter what that entails. Some people might read these books and see the groups relationship as solely about the sex but it's so much more than that and this book covers that in a beautiful way. Obviously, Jayne Rylon can write super hot erotic scenes but the emotion injected in her stories is equally as powerful as the passion. Dave's accident and all that entailed is another perfect example of the intense love and deep connection these nine people share. I am seriously going to miss these characters and reading about their sexy escapades but I can guarantee that if I'm ever in a sexual rut all I need to do is read any one of the books in this series to heat me right up. Loved this book. Loved this series.
The continuing emotional abuse & side-lining of James who could be replaced by a blow-up doll for all that anyone in this group cares about him? Should I mention the too-stupid-to-live female characters whose over-wrought sobbing and moments of sheer stupidity made me wonder how they manage to dress themselves in the morning? Is it the "hey there, hysterical lil' lady" attitude of some of the men? Is it the laughably hippie and sadly insipid orgies? Oh, hey, maybe I was stuck on the doctor and nurse whose unprofessional manner of conveying information - and their indiscreet way of passing that info on to anyone who asks - would have them suspended or dismissed for poor conduct in any medical facility on the planet?
Then I got to the bit where everyone is in denial about how, actually, yes, the horrible situation IS her fault.
It's been a while since I read the previous books, but I don't remember these characters being quite so thinly sketched and assigned such poor judgement or such bland, over-simplified reactions.
First of all, let me just say that the author is mean, and here is what I mean by that: I’m a big sap, so I spent a LARGE portion of this book in tears!! I love, love, love this series and all its characters, so to see Morgan and Joe in such emotional turmoil tore me up. Then later to see the victim of the accident and everybody around him so distraught tore me up again. Seriously, have tissues handy.
That being said, there’s also some very sensual scenes as well, naturally. The night Morgan gets pregnant is a little awkward, but mostly hot, fun, and tender. Everybody coping with the accident and its repercussions was sweet and hot as well. Perhaps one of my favorite parts though, is the introduction to two NEW characters that will lead us into the author’s new spin off series, the Hot Rods. That scene where they get to learn about the crew and their arrangement is both funny and sizzling.
Ultimately, it’s a great finale to the series, and a fantastic lead in to the spin off. As with any ending, it’s bittersweet, but oh so satisfying and I couldn’t get enough! Hammer It Home just goes to show how close all the characters really are and how tightly knit they are as a unit. I’m sad to see the crew go, but maybe they’ll have the occasional cameo in the Hot Rods series. Bring it on!
Woowza!! This is a smokin hot ending for the series. Also, loads of drama and angst!! Hold onto your hard hats kids, it gets bumpy!
I read this right after the last book, so it was easier to keep up with the individual couples and who what with who. All those bodies and names are a lot to keep track of!
The steam is plentiful and uber smexy! Baby making and physical therapy!! Oh lordy!! You will need multiple cold showers!!
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Gregory Salinas, he is fabulous and just as yummy as the smexy men in the series!! His voice is always a delicious treat!! Girl, do not listen while in public, you will be blushing like a school girl! He is a perfect compliment to this series and has kept the voices remarkable consistent throughout. The pace is spot on and really moves with the action of the story.
I have enjoyed this series, it is a little bit menage, a lot a bit swingers and loads of group lovin. Pretty much any combo you can think of is here MF, MM, MMF, FF, MFMM, MFMMMM and some serious voyeurism! This is a definite acquired taste, but if you are into it, the writing is fabulous and the smexing is hawt!
This book leads you into the next series, Hot Rods, and has you panting for those delicious characters!
Considering what these stories involve, repeatedly, I might say, this was the deepest in terms of emotions. There is the usual thing going on, goes without saying, but then the emotional drama is thrown in about Joe and Morgan. Which carried over from the last story, which their resolution to that was seen coming a mile away (honestly not a play on words). Then just when you start thinking how are they going to celebrate, you have the rug pulled out from under you with the terrible trauma that Dave went through. Not to mention the little initiation into their little circle of love buddy group, didn't see that coming either. But it looked like they might have swung a few more their way. Yes, this was a surprise and since this was a short story the long recovery was not witnessed but fast forward eight months. That could have been handled better. Dave feeling useless in his current state vows to leave them but they refuse to let him go. And the fractured HEA fades to black. So even through it ended abruptly there was allot more substance in this story than there was in any of the previous stories, and of course there was a lot of mutual gratification going on, don't forget.
Whereas as nailed to the wall was physical this was pure emotional spilling into the every scene! The crew has moved forward, families are being planned and connections are strong on all the levels and crossovers. Morgan and Joe are heartbreaking and the crews response has to be one of the most moving, and totally hot, scenes out there. Dave is still a big softie even when he is frustrated and we see Kayla's emotional side. Mike stays in charge and Devon, Neil and James provide overall support and lift spirits as needed and when needed. It was also a treat to focus back on the first two couples as they interact and when Joe gives Morgan the stone he picked up from their first date together when she goes into labour, I completely choked up, which books don't make me do often!!! A wonderful move to the next series with Eli and Alfonso around and exploring options to keep us hanging on for more....
Wow...... from the beginning I was hooked. Morgans and joes heartache from not being able to conceive a child of their own. The love from their friends with their offer of help. I couldn't stop the tears flowing with that phone call where they found out about dave being in a crash. Kaylas agony calls out to the readers and makes you feel like your there with her. I had a horrble feeling he was going to die but luckily he pulled through with the help of the crew. Last but not least it was HOT ;D I really enjoyed this one and I'm looking forward to Eli and alanso's story's when they come out :)

Hammer It Home Powertools series are great. The crew goes to great lengths for each other and this book is no different. Family is everything and no matter what happens they just get tighter.
Ok I read the rest of the series all together so I'm reviewing it as a whole... so all have their soulmate but love to indulge in swapping m/m or f/f or complete orgies but whatever gets them off right??? There is a story too so not just porn ....
The feels, I've seriously died; had a stroke from the fucking sexiness. Good "end" to the series, though I see there's a seventh book added on the goodreads series page; would definitely be interested in reading more.
Not sure I'll check out the Hot Rods, I've heard it doesn't have quite the feel this series did, a poor imitation. Maybe if I can get them cheaper than $3 an ebook, I'll check out the first couple.
-still fanning self-
I think one of my favorite lines in the whole series said by James, about Joe. "He's smooth when he talks. Just like he fucks."
I'll take a rough talker, if you know what I mean.
Honestly, I don't know what to say. I have said so much about each book in the series, that I am afraid to repeat myself. I will say this, this final book ended the series in a glorious fashion! In each book, we saw the crew overcome huge obstacles, become a deeper family & allow others in their hearts. The sex grew steamy and the love out of this world. In this one, we see how the bond all eight held helped with two situations that will tug at your heart, but the result will astonish you! I must say, I really loved this series & can't wait to read the next one!!
I am so invested in these character coz of the way Jayne writes them that I felt this book to my core. I cried after chapter 1, I cried almost the whole way through. Honey and crying not a combination I usual get but one no less beautiful. Thank you Jayne for sharing this world with us readers
When I read the first book of the series I was disappointed, but with the series being recommended by one of my fave authors I decided to give the next book a try... which led to the next and then the next. I'm so glad I did. I'm now ready to move on to the connected series to find out more about Eli and his team. I can't wait.
My words seem so inadequate to try and describe this incredible story. It has everything, there are parts to this book that will rip out your guts, then will melt you into a pile of goo. I won't spoil anyone's fun by giving any spoilers. But read this book. It's so well worth both your time and money. Happy reading
Morgan is happy that her best friend is expecting a baby but the grief she feels over not being able to conceive is destroying her relationship with her husband. When their crew finally proposes a solution Morgan and Joe are thrilled. But just as everything seems to be turning around, happiness proves to be fleeting when an accident leaves one of the crew members fighting for his life.
I’m hoping that it’s still not over. There was so much in this story. I feel that there’s got to be more. I’m moving on to the Hot Rods next and hoping that we’ll still hear from the Power Tools crew in there. So good.
get the tissues ready. I actually had to skip to the back to see if he survived as Dave is my fav. what everyone done for morgan and jo so they could have there dream still gets me. can't wait for the next series with these guys.
