The hit comic book series based on Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s hilarious [adult swim] animated show RICK AND MORTY is available in its second deluxe hardcover collection! Join the excitement as depraved genius Rick Sanchez embarks on insane adventures with his awkward grandson Morty across the universe and across time. Caught in the crossfire are his teenage granddaughter Summer, his veterinary surgeon daughter Beth, and his hapless son-in-law Jerry. This collection includes issues #11-20 of the comic book series, featuring the superstar talents of Tom Fowler, Kyle Starks, Pamela Ribon, CJ Cannon, Marc Ellbery, and more! Stories like "Ready Player Morty" and "Rick Burn, Dude" will make you laugh, cry, and probably question the morality of humanity. This special hardcover edition also includes a brand-new introduction, over twenty pages of extra art, and an exclusive sound clip of Rick and Morty!
Unfortunately there were some artists in this volume that I just didn't like the style of, so I just couldn't give this volume 5 stars. Other than that, I enjoyed the adventures.
story 5/5 characters 5/5 writing 5/5 audio/paper Paper. reread? Yeah. Recommend it? Yes, if you like the show, you'll like these books.
Verhaal: 5/5 Karakters: 5/5 Schrijfstijl: 5/5 Papier/audio? Papier. Herlezen: Jazeker. Aanrader? Ja, als je de serie leuk vind, vind je deze boeken ook leuk.
My expectations were really low because generally comic books based on tv shows are mediocre. This is actually decent. The quality of each story depends on the writer and some are definitely better than others, but over all they're pretty good. I think Kyle Starks had the strongest issues and he does a decent number of them. The art gets a little weird at times, but I didn't find it that hard to overlook.
I'd definitely recommend checking these out if you're a fan of the show.
No bias what so ever, these comics are on the same level as the show. Laugh out loud all the way! It can be jarring to see different artist renditions of the style but I found this volume more consistent in look than Vol 1. Probably my fav comics at the moment. Fun read and helps the pain of waiting for the next season.
Equally good as the first volume, by which I mean the longer story arcs are quite good, with lots of humor and actual SF adventure, and the one shots tend to be of lower quality. The artwork should not win any awards, leaning towards the cartoonish, but the layouts are generally good. The artwork on "Morty Bounce To The Ounce" was fucking horrendous.
This comic books gives you an in-depth look into one of my most favorite shows ever! I can literally picture it in my head and hear it too because the author often has Rick burping. The comic art at the end of the book was phenomenal! Loved all the art depictions of the Smith family🥰
Just like any anthology, you're going to have good stories and bad. Bad art is definitely still a thing. Contains interesting stories that would never make it to air
everytime, I almost start feeling bad for jerry, and then I get the urge to punch him in the face. I totally understand Rick! I would've loved to have seen some of these stories on TV!
Sometimes it's better to fall asleep instead of thinking about books, boys and stuff. And sometimes it's really worth it to think the way Rick, Morty or Summer do, because it's raw, it's cruel and actually pretty good to know. The story I liked most was that one where Rick and Morty got stuck in Rick's head and Jerry wanted to fix the toaster. But the one where Summer and Jerry switched was ridiculous as well.
Almost as good as the show. But, that’d be impossible, right? These deluxe hardcovers are worth the price just for the sound chip. That may be a spoiler because I was unaware it existed prior to opening. Forget I said anything, just buy...
