C’est un shojo tout mignon. C’est sympa et frais. L’héroïne principale n’aime pas les beaux gosses et elle se retrouve à sortir ou plutôt à faire semblant de sortir avec l’un des beaux gosses de la classe. C’est drôle c’est comme un bonbon acidulé.

A Note on Aikawa Saki
If you've read one, you've read them all.
If there's an author who I love and read despite my better judgment, it's Aikawa Saki. I absolutely adore her artwork. However, her plots and characters are virtually all the same and filled with cliches. Knowing all that, I still seem to love each and every one of her works.



If there's one thing not on Shizuku's mind, it's boys. Her younger brother seems to jump from one girl to the next, leaving Shizuku with the impression that all good-looking boys are the same. At her new school, the Yagami twins are just the kind of boys she's wary of, and yet the two couldn't be more different.

Aikawa's art has the same-face syndrome - not that I have ever minded that in manga - but it's always quite funny when characters are said to look so similar when, in reality, all characters' faces are identical. It's usually the hair or other little things that set characters apart. So here we have twins, Tamaki and Kaede, who supposedly look so alike that people get them mixed up - Kaede doesn't like this as one of his main character traits is that he hates being compared to his twin. In order to set himself apart, he keeps his hair messy, which stylistically makes him look very different from his twin while characters in the story still go on about how similar they look. Well, it's not exactly an uncommon manga-oddity.

Yagami-kun wa Kyou mo Ijiwaru is a true Aikawa manga in the sense that Shizuku is exactly the same as her other female main characters and that a good boy is pitched against a bad one. That being said, Kaede makes for a rather interesting main character; I found his actions and behavior believable and convincing. He may be a little gruff, but he's a far call from being a so-called bad boy. I loved his character development and I actually think he is by far the nicest and most sincere male character of the lot. Tamaki is nice enough but at times he appears too nice while being rather devious at others.

What I liked about Shizuku is that she had zero interest in Tamaki and therefore making the issue between the twins more about them as individuals rather than just a fight over a girl. I thought the twin dynamics were really well done and I loved how the romance developed. While this is not an overly long series, I wish this manga would have ended around the midpoint. Once things between Kaede and Tamaki are settled, Aikawa introduces her usual interruptions; former friends or ex-partners who come to meddle.

I've always had mixed feelings about these characters, especially when it comes to Aikawa. Most of the time, they just fulfill the purpose of prolonging the story and have close to no character depth other than being disruptive. Yet often enough, I like the way Aikawa writes them - for Yagami-kun wa Kyou mo Ijiwaru, however, that was not the case. I found every single character who was introduced just to intervene to be extremely annoying and unlikeable. They caused way too many misunderstandings that could and should have been easily dealt with. I was also disappointed that Shizuku doesn't get to explain her full side of the story at any point.

This wasn't Aikawa's best manga, but because I really enjoyed Kaede and the romance between him and Shizuku, I did still enjoy this. Not to mention that, as always, I love Aikawa's art.

Shizuku Hayasaka hates handsome boys. She doesn’t find them attractive as every else does, she thinks that personality is more important than beauty. On her first day of school, she crosses paths with the Yagami’s twins, Tamaki and Kaede. While Tamaki is the popular one that everyone loves, Kaede is the cold one that scares the whole school. The latter will end up asking Shizuku to pretend to be his girlfriend. Just like her, Kaede hates girls and wants to use Shizuku as a way to repel them. The only rule is, she mustn’t fall in love with him.

I’ve read my fair share of Saki Aikawa and none of them really impressed me. This one seems to be her best work or at least the one I’ve liked the most. Saki Aikawa is definitely a guilty pleasure author because there is nothing original about her work or her characters and yet, I keep reading her manga.

If you are searching for enemies to lovers and fake dating manga, this one is perfect. Again, there is nothing original about the plot or the characters, but the playful banter between Shizuku and Kaede is fun and makes you want to keep reading.

Das war mein erster Manga den ich je gelesen habe. Ich wollte sowas schon lange mal ausprobieren und hab mich endlich überwunden einen Manga anzufangen. Ich muss ehrlich sagen dass ich mir nicht viel erwartet hab, weil ich eigentlich schon kein Comic-Fan bin aber der Manga hat mich schon positiv überrascht. Ich gebe aber erstmal drei Sterne, weil ich mich meiner Meinung nach noch ein bisschen mehr an Mangas gewöhnen und mich mehr einlesen muss, besonders weil man sie ja von hinten nach vorn und von rechts nach links liest 😌

Best Saki Aikawa’s book I read so far!

Ich liebe solche Highschool Romanzen und vom Klappentext her hört sich Bad Boy Yagami nach genau so einer Romanze an. 

Shizuku ist ein unscheinbares und schüchternes Mädchen. Sie hasst Schönlinge, denn ihr Bruder ist ein echter Draufgänger und treibt so seine Spielchen mit den Mädchen. Davon abgeschreckt will sie nichts mit schönen Jungs zu tun haben. Absolut nachvollziehbar, wie ich finde.  
Sie kommt in eine Klasse mit dem wunderschönen Yagami und tritt dabei erstmal in ein Fettnäpfchen. Sie spricht seinen Zwillingsbruder mit dem falschen Namen an. Und der ist wirklich mürrisch. Im Laufe der Geschichte wird man feststellen, dass er nicht mürrisch ist, sondern Shizuku regelrecht nieder macht und schlecht behandelt. Und sie lässt sich das einfach so gefallen. Da muss ich ja sagen, dass mir sowas nicht gefällt. Natürlich ist es süß zu lesen, wenn Mädchen schüchtern sind, aber niedermachen lassen und das auch noch entschuldigen, finde ich ist kein gutes Zeichen. 

Das Ende ist dann aber so gestaltet, dass man auf jeden Fall weiterlesen mag. 


FAZIT

Ich für meinen Teil mag es nicht, wenn Mädchen so schlecht gemacht werden und sich von Jungs wie Dreck behandeln lassen und dies auch noch entschuldigen. Bad Boy Yagami ist so einer, aber bei dem Ende habe ich noch Hoffnung, dass sich dies ändern wird.

Dies ist wieder einer dieser Mangas, bei denen ich einfach nicht sagen kann warum er mir so gefällt. So wirklich viel passieren tut hier gar nichts. Man lernt die Charaktere kennen, aber auch noch nicht wirklich internsiv. Es kommt hier zu einer Scheinbezeihnung - wie und warum möchte ich nicht verraten. So ganz schlau wird man eh noch nicht daraus. Ich finde die Charaktere interessant und möchte wissen was nun dahinter steckt und wie sich alles entwickelt. Irgendwie finde ich das ganze süß obwohl der männliche Hauptcharakter ein ganz schöner Ar... sein kann. Den Zeichenstil finde ich klasse. Ich mag diese mandelförmigen Augen und allgemein den doch recht ausgefallenen Zeichenstil. Ich habe mir bereits den nächsten Band der Reihe zugelegt und werde ihn bald lesen.

This story is about two people who are not suppose to fall in love with each other, cause they represent all they hate, and this is the point. The plot turn around this epic relation and I totally love it ! I need to read all the other books before making a comment how good or not is this série.

For now, I just think the story maybe is a little too fast. Or maybe I am the one who read too fast, but I had this feeling everything was on a rush. I just want to go buy the next one, and see if it really goes to fast or if the author is going to slow down.

Ich liebe, wie die Personen geschrieben worden sind. Der Anfang wirkt sehr natürlich für das genre Fake-Dating. Dafür kann ich aus persöhlicher Sicht die beste Freundin von Hauptcharakter leiden.
Die Dynamik zwischen beiden Hautcharakteren wirk nicht zu schnell fortschreitend.
