Bonita Jackson meets River Wright (he's the half brother of Michael and Alex) when he takes it upon himself to help her reach a book at the bookstore. She doesn't appreciate the help especially since less than five minutes ago a Megan Fox look alike was draped all over him. Everywhere she turns River seems to be there. He wants to melt her icy exterior and she just wants to be left alone. Can River penetrate her defenses? Bonita knows if she lets him in, her life will never be the same.
I freaking loved this it was so good. I received this ARC for an honest review it was amazing. Camilla Stevens knocked this book right of park. River and Bonita are super cute and I loved how much they loved each other. Ten stars all the way around!!!!
This is the first book by Camilla Stevens I've had the pleasure of reading. I love HEA's and this is a good one but it definetely had some twists in it that I wasn't expecting. From the first meeting in the college book store to having french class together, River is as determined to make Bonita his as she's determined not to be. Bonita and River are as different as night and day. He's the typical bad boy and she's the typical preachers daughter. But their attraction is to strong to resist. River and Bonita both have their secrets. When one of Bonita's secrets makes himself known problems arise. Darryl has everything money, looks, brains and he's the son of a politician. According to him Bonita belongs to him. And of course if Darryl can't have Bonita then no one can. The main characters River and Bonita have good background info and story line.. I would like to have read more info on Bonita's and Darryl's relationship, it would have clarified his actions a little more to me.
This is an ARC review of So Wrong. River Wright is all grown up and now he's the sexy hot nerd with a heart of gold with a secret or two. He rescues damsels in distress, rides a motorcycle and speaks French-oh be still my beating heart. From the opening line of chapter 1 to their happily every after, this book is phenomenal. This time the around the drama is a little darker than her previous work. River like his older brothers is charming flirt with a humorous witty charm that eventually wins the reluctant Bonita over. Bonita has a secret of her own and learns something more from her parents. Bonita needs to overcome being a little too critical and judgmental of River; her friend/secret cupid helps Bonita with a glimpse into his past as well learning something else about River from Marianne. Bonita finally acknowledges her feelings for River, stops blaming him out her jealousy of him for doing better than her in their French literature class and lets him show her his New York one night, it is beautiful. There is one secret they both keep from one another that is the culmination of a tragic confrontation from an unrelenting ex-where is my box of Kleenex (sniff). The Jackson family Christmas dinner is comical. Ms. Stevens does a brilliant job of weaving the Wright Family bonus chapters into So Wrong. I love their happily ever after too. So Wrong is just so Wright to read.
A grown up Riot is now referred to as River...a mature and caring individual. He is smitten with Bonita at first glance. Bonita is a Pastor's daughter and comes equipped with the usual judgmental attitude, but River quickly proves her wrong about all her assumptions. It was wonderful to see their love develop over time. River proved himself to be her Rock. I do believe that the situation with her ex should have been a bit more detailed information as it was very obvious there were some mental issues going on...but I realize this is a love story but... I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more of the Wright family shenanigans. I highly recommend this book. This is an ARC review of So Wrong...
This is a compliment; River and Bonita were a college couple that didn't have a "college" story. The character development is layered and well-paced, with exposition driving the plot, including some frustrating moments that are later revealed to be smart, strategic choices by the author. Similarly went the secondary characters...smart and well-used (especially Marianne)!
I love interracial romances that neither ignore, nor obsess over, race and difference. This is one of them. There's enough attention to add realism but not so much as to turn the tale into a Lifetime movie. Really glad I read this new-to-me author, and I will be going back to the previous, related books.
River and Bonita are college students from completely different worlds. Bonita Jackson is a Pastor's daughter trying to find her way and River Wright is the rich heartthrob of the college campus. When they first meet he falls for her instantly but she wants nothing to do with him. Will River be able to convince Bonita to give him a chance? I love that River immediately had a connection with Bonita and she cautiously took her time. The story unfolded nicely and the characters are well developed. This is my first book by Camilla Stevens and I look forward to reading more by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an Exclusive ARC of this book.
It was boring for the beginning but over all it was the average black girl but not too black "curves in the right places" story ( I back spaced on the word drivel) These books always have the guy over sexed the girl virginal, celibate and/or no notion of her having a healthy sex life at any time . That is annoying. Also the black female lead always has family some kind of family dysfunction. But meh.
This book just was not it. slow in the beginning, picked up a touch but just meh.
River wanted Bonita and pursued her with a vengeance. Those Wright brothers are something else. They're very persistent in their pursues. I just don't know what inspired Darryl to think Bonita would want to be with him after his ultimatum. He definitely had some loose screws going on. Good old dad couldn't help him after what he did to Bonita. Darryl got exactly what he deserved.
This story was certainly an enjoyable addition to the Wright brothers. River's story was totally unexpected but no less enjoyable. It was also a bonus catching up with the rest of the family. Looking forward to whatever this talented author offers next.
This was a great page turner full of humor and romance! I truly enjoyed this book ! I think every girl has been "Bonita" once in their life , attempting to resist the bad boy charm of their own " River Wright" !!!! Five + stars for this opposites attract HEA !!!!!!!!!
How can you not love River, persistent, fun, loving ,loyal,💪strong, cool, protective, among other qualities and absolutely HOT! Poor Tiffany! Lol. And ,when he finally gets his Bonita (as he said:his 1st best thing in his life), after trying so hard... They are beautiful!! I love the epilogue... Just 👍
Great romance story. River and Bonita , a perfect couple. Being a good Samaritan brought love and happiness. Happy she chose the career she wanted. Thank you Ms Stevens for sharing.
Loved River and Bonita! River was sexy as sin, Bonita had a problem but she got it together! Reading this one has made me want to go back and do re-read about Michael and Alex!! LOL Good book!
This story between Bonita and River was so right. I enjoyed the attraction between them. It did progress rather quickly, and it could have been a little more developed. But, it still was a good book.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Even though I'm not a big fan of what I call kid books ( any story about characters in high school and\or college). But this one wasn't to bad
I loved how sweet this entire was. There isn't much of that in books anymore. Bonita is so intelligent and strong, yet with that believed naivete. River is a bad boy with a romantic side. The characters ( both main and supporting) meshed well in the story.
So boring, terrible writing as well. That fight scene good God. Not only was it a little too long but confusing as hell and hard to invisage. None of the leads were doing it for me. Also is it really that hard to write monoracial characters like why are they so many books like this.
This was a very nice story of first love and have the different in background is only in the mind of others and as long as they said true to each other.
I am a sucker for romances with good girls and bad boys… They’re so sexy and romantic! This one was no different. I loved Bonita and especially River.. he was very patient with her and was so loving, supportive and protective. And the love scenes.. were just smoldering. I LOVED them. Definitely a must read for all IR Romance lovers! :)
I really enjoyed this story. It was sweet, sexy and intriguing, especially the storyline with "Darryl". This is the story of River and Bonita. River first spots Bonita in a bookstore. He is smitten at first sight and he knows that he has to get to know her. He sees her struggling for a book on a high shelf and he sees his opportunity to introduce himself. Bonita notices River checking her out and is not impressed. She thinks she knows his type and believes she is correct when a beautiful young woman drapes herself all over him. River is not dissuaded by Bonita's rejection and vows to win her over. Let me tell you Bonita puts up on heck of a fight. She is attracted to him but she definitely doesn't trust him. At times this frustrates River and he thinks of quitting but his intense attraction won't let him give up. As time goes by she learns more about River and realizes she may have misjudged him and decides to give him a shot. Will River and Bonita be able to make this work? Both have secrets they are keeping and Bonita has an ex that doesn't want to let go. Will they be able to overcome these obstacles and move towards a HEA? You will have to read the book to find out. Trust me you will not be disappointed . I voluntarily read an arc copy for an honest review!
