Anger and lies can lead to destruction, but passion and control can lead to love.
Harrison I met my soul mate, but she's married to someone else. Every fiber of my being screams she belongs to me. He saved her, but he doesn't deserve her. If I'm being honest, neither do I.
Brooklyn I didn't know I was settling until he showed me what I was missing. He promised to maintain control, but I pushed him and he destroyed us both. Now I know what I need, but am I what he wants.
Harrison's anger and Brooklyn's lies push them both toward destruction. Can passion and control SALVAGE their love?

Salvage Him is off to a great start in the Highland Park Chronicles. This is Harrison and Brooklyn's story and WOW is it good. The blurb had me intrigued and Salvage Him was worth reading. I don't want to give anything away so if the blurb catches your attention than grab a copy. You will definitely feel your emotions throughout this book. I can't wait to see how the rest of the series plays out.
This is the type of alpha hero I like to read the best - a strong, dominant side balanced by love and compassion. Proof that a truly powerful man is concerned about the welfare of those in his care. The sparks flew from their very first meeting. Her trust has been badly abused in the past and he's never really been tested to his limits so the dynamic between Harrison and Brooklyn was fascinating to watch. I loved how hard he worked to show her that he "saw" her and I adored that Brooklyn was a strong, powerful woman in most areas of her life. It made her allowing Harrison the control all the more meaningful. The encounter scenes between them are extreme and hot. I think the circuits in my reader may have melted, they're so steamy. There is a lot quietly happening in the background of this story to set the stage for the rest of the series and I am anxious to see how the rest of it unfolds. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

Salvage Him by Sydney Aaliyah Michelle a fab five star read. This is the first book in the Highland park chronicles and book two Educate him is going to be moved straight up my TBR pile if its half as good as this book I won’t be disappointed. This is the first book I have read by this author but it definitely won’t be the last. This is a passionate romance and does have elements and scenes of a BDSM nature so if you don’t enjoy reading about the lifestyle this wouldn’t be the book for you, but if you enjoy it then you will likely love this book. One of the things I loved about this book was the length, it was long enough that you could sink your teeth into it like a big juicy behind, but not overly long that it dragged. Although Brooklyn and Harrison are the main pair in this book, it’s really a story of six. The characters and their relationships are fabulous they have such a depth and strength to them. The will they won’t they aspect of the story was great, it was one aspect that kept the suspense going from page to page. This author has done a great job of bringing everything together, you could easily have gotten lost in the story, but the author has a great talent for keeping the story flowing and you hooked from page to page.
This was an amazing read. I have read several of Sydney's books and this is one of my faves. Brooklyn is caught in a bad marriage and never thought she would be attracted to another man. She took her vows seriously. When her husband was around he was an ass. He didn't respect her and didn't please her either. He had saved her from her previous boyfriend so she was greatful to him. When they moved to Texas, she met Harrison and there was an instant connection. Her husband was constantly out of town so Brooklyn went out to a local BDSM club with her best friend. She didn't realize Harrison was into the lifestyle. Their attraction grew from there. I don't want to give away too much because this book is definitely worth the read. There are some twists that are down right crazy and a happy ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.
This was a great BDSM romance, it was a good combination of sweet, hot and hard. it had a great dynamic between doms and subs and gave you a little insight in to the world the good and bad. It was very well written and the characters were exciting and fun, it also left room to expand into the story's of those within this world, I personally would love to reed Seth's and Abbie's stories. If you enjoy a romance that can get you hot but also keep you tied up in the plot, then this is the book for you.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review.
Absolutely fell in love with Harrison and Brooklyn in this story. How could you not. Paul the sleaze ball not so much. What a wonderful well balanced story. Excitement. Laughter. Tears. Fears. Loss. Longing. Joy. Happiness. My first read from this Author but I will definitely be reading all she has. Thank you for your work.
I liked this book but I wanted to like it more. I loved Harrison and Brooklyn. They are great characters. They have great chemistry. But there was something about this book that didn't quite work for me. I think it's that we're supposed to believe that Harrison and Brooklyn actually fall in love with each other. When did this happen?!?! Harrison and Brooklyn spend time together while her and her husband, Paul, are having their house built. This takes place over a span of 9 months? But it feels like they've only known each other a month. There's instant attraction and lust but love? I don't know about that especially since Brooklyn is married. Very married. I think there should have been more fleshing out of the relationship between Harrison and Brooklyn to make their love more believable. I also thought the fallout with Paul was over-the-top but I guess it was a way to make Harrison and Brooklyn not be the bad people in this triangle. I still enjoyed the book and will read more from this author.
My second 5-star rating for this author! I *really* enjoyed this. It’s been a while since I’ve read a story with BDSM and this one delivered in every way. The only thing I didn’t really like was the ending. It kind of fell flat for me. I didn’t hate it enough to knock a star off, but I do wish there was a little more there. Def would recommend.
Salvage Him is the first book in the Highland Park Chronicles series by Sydney Aaliyah Michelle. It is a scorching hot story of discovery with- elements of BDSM, Hot Alpha Males, suspense, angst and drama. The story is a showcase of the author’s very proficient wordsmithing skills. Ms. Michelle has a captivating, sexy, bold and very descriptive style to her writing- which drew me in and held my attention from the very first page and the whole way through till the end. Brooklyn McIntyre is a twenty-five year old designer who is married to a much older man. He has a real estate development business that has had them travelling the world from New York to Munich, Paris to Los Angeles. Brooklyn longs to settle down and stay in one place long enough to put down some roots. They have just moved to Dallas Texas, where they hope to build their dream home. Brooklyn has so many ideas she wants to incorporate into her home, she is excited to get started. As her husband travels a lot for business she is left to deal with the architects, contractors and to oversee the build. The last thing she expects is the intense attracted she feels for one of the contractors. He makes her heart race and her mind wanders to the things she’d like him to do to her. But she is married and as gorgeous as he was, she wouldn’t risk her marriage by cheating on her husband. Harrison Crawford has a powerful, commanding presence- there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. He is a master-craftsman in wood work, designing and building everything from one-off pieces of furniture, to stunning staircases, or bespoke kitchens and show-stopping floors- his business was booming. But Harrison had a lot of talent that lay in other areas; he is also a skilled Dom who is well known and respected in the local BDSM scene. When Harrison lays eyes on Brooklyn he feels like he’s met his soul mate, but is devastated to learn that she is married. The more time he spends with her working on the build, the more he is drawn to her. But there is something about her that he can’t quite work out, he can’t help feeling like she needs saving. When he learns about Brooklyn’s past, he can’t help feeling protective of her. Will they be able to keep their interactions purely professional? What happens when Brooklyn realises what’s been missing from her life all this time? When Brooklyn finds herself in danger, will Harrison be able to help? This is a fantastic standalone story told from the duel POV of Harrison and Brooklyn. The characters are all superb, really well conceived and developed beautifully. The secondary characters also add a lot of depth, heat and humour to the story and there were quite a few lough out loud moments from the funny banter or amusing antics. They are a great group of loyal and supportive friends who really care for one another. I couldn’t help but like them and connected to them and the story. This story singed my kindle, the heat was that intense!! The chemistry between Brooklyn and Harrison was off-the-charts HOT!! Don’t say I didn’t warn you …. The story was also gut-wrenching and nail-biting in points; I wasn’t expecting to have such an emotional connection to the story or characters. There were points where I wanted to cry and others where I was sitting on the edge of my chair, breathless with anticipation from the tension and suspense. I really loved and enjoyed this story- I can’t wait for more from this talented author!
Salvage Him (Highland Park Chronicles #1) By Sydney Aaliyah Michelle 5 Stars
Salvage Him by Sydney Aaliyah Michelle is the first installment of the Highland Park Chronicles. Salvage Him is an Erotica/BDSM romance about two people who have an instant connection but are in a complicated situation.
Brooklyn is married to an older man who saved her from an abusive relationship. She has been married to Paul for four years but no longer feels the same love for her husband when she first fell for him. Her marriage is missing something, she misses her once submissive life. She wishes her husband could fulfill her needs but he wants nothing to do with her past life that he saved her from. While in the process of designing her new home in Dallas, TX, she can’t control the instant, electric pull she feels when she meets Harrison, the hired carpenter that will be working on her new home.
Harrison can’t control himself when Brooklyn is around. Knowing she is married is testing his needs an he wants to have Brooklyn as his Sub. Harrison is a Dom at the local Crush sex club. He has grown an aversion to Brooklyn’s husband and would do anything to save her from her relationship. Will Brooklyn be able to overcome her fear of returning to her submissive ways and break ties with her loveless relationship? Does Harrison have what it takes to show Brooklyn that she can trust him?
Wow! Sydney Aaliyah Michelle had me hanging by a string through the whole storyline. What a steamy tale you spin Sydney! This is the first novel I have read by Sydney Aaliyah Michelle and surely won’t be my last. I devoured this story in one sitting, needing to find out what would happen between Brooklyn and Harrison. I look forward to reading the second installment of the Highland Park Chronicles.
This is my first book I have read by Sydney but it won't be my last. Salvage Him really drew me in. Brooklyn was just living but never really enjoying her life. Her marriage was boring and she was never able to actually settle down anywhere. She meets Justin and Seth when they are helping her build her new home in Dallas, soon after she meets Harrison. There was just something about him that drew her in...but she took her marriage vows seriously and so she had to just look.
Harrison makes amazing things with wood, and like Brooklyn he felt that immediate connection and couldn't NOT be near her.
Things took a turn when Brooklyn's friend Angie came to visit from New York and then went to a BDSM club. We find out Brooklyn used to be a sub, but she no longer participated in that (you find out why in the book). But that really awoke something within her, that she didn't really realize she was missing. Seeing Harrison there did not help matters either.
This is a book that really shows you when two people are meant to be together somehow, some way they will be. You have a lot of DOMs(Domme) in this book, and I really love ALL of them. Justin, Seth, Angie and Piper all bring so much to this story. Even Paul who you can't help but at first be bored with but later dislike. Sydney did a great job weaving things in and out and keeping you on your toes throughout this story. If you like books with some suspense and hot sex and great friendships, this is the book for you.
This isn't an astounding read. From the beginning, I was emotionally hooked on Harrison. I could feel the need for something more coming off of him, and knowing he couldn't find what he was looking for made my heart hurt. When Brooklyn came into the picture, I could tell she was far from happy with her life, she was just making do with what she had. The more I got to know her, the more I understood her feelings. After their time at club Crush, I wanted to beat her for running off without explaining to Harrison how things were. It put him in a bad place, reminding me that subs weren't the only ones that needed the aftercare. Watching him self destruct while Brooklyn was in New York was the hardest thing, especially when he hooked up with his old high school flame. Abby, Seth, Justin and Piper are all amazing friends to them both, but no one knew exactly what was going on with these two. When Paul came back into the picture, I knew things were going to be bad, but I never expected the ending to go the way it did.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
I loved Brooklyn and Harrison together! He was a Dom who had fun with different subs but was also waiting for a sub he felt was "The One". She had been a sub in a relationship that turned abusive. After that, she met Paul who helped her escape. They married, but he couldn’t give her the dominance she needed. Brooklyn and Harrison found what they both needed in each other. There were a few surprises revealed, especially towards the end, that added to the storyline. The supporting characters were great! I’m hoping the author will consider giving them all their own stories. I can't wait to read book two. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
"I voluntarily reviewed ARC of this book." OMG! Wholly wet balls batman! What a steamy and delicious read! Brooklyn just wanted to be happy and she thought she would be after marrying Paul but that jist wasn't in the cards. It's not until she meets Harrison, that she realizes that she's been ignoring a big part of herself. Harrison has just been floating along until he sets his sights on Brooklyn. Together they are going to ride that crazy rollercoaster of trials and tribulations called life. In the end their strengths, will and emotions will be tested.
I adore Syd and her writing, and was excited to see a steamy non-sports book from her (although you can never go wrong with sports romances). I don't read a whole lot of BDSM books just because I'm not a submissive person and so I don't really understand how other people are. But, I wanted to try this out and I was not disappointed. I adored the love triangle aspect, the sex was steamy, and Harrison was to die for 😍
Salvage Him is the first book in the Highland Park Chronicles and features Harrison who is a Dom and Brooklyn who is a Sub. When Harrison first meets Brooklyn he realizes that she is what he has been waiting for. The problem is, Brooklyn is married to someone else. What they have to go through to get what they both need will keep you hooked from the beginning to the very end. I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but if you like really hot reads that have an HEA and no cliff hangers, then give this a shot. It won't disappoint.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's starts with Brooklyn and Paul who have been married for a few years, moving around due to Paul's job. They eventually settle in Texas where they rebuild a home. Brooklyn's friend, Abby brings her to a well-known BDSM club, Crush, where she recognizes Harrison. Their connection is instant as sparks fly. They're clearly meant for one another. The perfect dom/sub. But, there's a problem. She's married, but realizes that Paul will never be able to satisfy her needs. The ending was surprising, and I won't spoil it. I did enjoy the final chapter. ;)
What a fantastic book. I loved all the action in it I never got board. it liked there sub/dom relationship they never went to far and it was filled with love and respect. the book was hot but it was also so romantic and sad at times. I will highly recommended it to everyone
Well I have begun to look forward to reading everything I can from this author, and will admit some apprehension about the married to someone else theme. But the amazing way this was handled makes you step back and realize that everything is not always black and white but there truly are many shades of gray. And this author handled them with tact and gracious understanding. This is an amazing look into a broken marriage. And you end with a HEA what's not to love?
Brooklyn and Harrison. Sexy Hot Forbidden love. What a wonderful - I couldn't put it down - book! Great read can not wait to read another from Ms. Sydney!
Sydney Aaliyah Michelle has done it again and written an outstanding book. I throughly enjoyed reading this book so it was just so good that I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of Salvage Him. Sydney Aaliyah Michelle is one of my most favorite authors. I just love all of her books that I have read so far.
When Brooklyn and her husband Paul move to Texas to start building a house she meets the builders Seth, Justin and Harrison. Harrison and she have an instant connection because Harrison is a Dom and Brooklyn is a Sub but she hasn't been in years since she and Paul married. Brooklyn was a sub before but the Dom took advantage and started sharing her so when Paul rescued her she felt safe not happy. When Paul is away her friend Abbie comes to town and they go to a BDSM club and Harrison is there and they really feel the connection they have but they don't touch at all. Harrison does things out of character for him and its because with Brooklyn he has found his perfect relationship but he can't have it because Brooklyn is still married. When she realizes that's what she has needed all this time she tells Paul she wants a divorce and it really begins to get interesting. I just loved the give and take in this relationship and how strong Brooklyn really was even though she didn't think so. This is a really good story that had you gasping sometimes but well worth it. I requested this book for free from the author and I have chosen to review it
Salvage him I loved Brooklyn and Harrison they were perfect for each other. I did not like Paul from the beginning. I loved how it was written. The BDSM was great in the story. I loved how they knew what each other wanted. All the characters were fantastic.
This is a BDSM romance so it is definitely hot. I love how Brooklyn goes from being battered down from her past and current relationships to being happy as a sub. You really see her going from unhappy to a confident, happy woman. Her husband was a class A jerk and as such nobody really missed him much. Overall, it was a good read.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. It was interesting and well written. The characters were believable and their attraction to each other was palpable. The plot flowed fairly seamlessly. This was the first time I've ever seen this subject material (BDSM) covered in a somewhat realistic way. They discussed safe words and limits, which I was pleased and surprised at. I wholly recommend this book. It's not just gratuitous sex (until the end, haha).
Not my first delve into BDSM, but this is a great storyline. We meet Brooklyn, who comes from New York, and her older, sleazy, over compensating husband Paul. Who have travelled all over the country going from apartment to apartment, due work constraints. They end up in Texas, and that is where Brooklyn meets a male who captivates her, has her fantasising about a part of her former life before Paul. She feels a deep and almost intimate connection to handsome, sexy Dom Harrison with the stunning ocean blue eyes.
The story explores the BDSM world through Brooklyn, and her secrets, her dark desires, Harrison awakening all her submissive feelings and experiences she put aside, we feel her pain, and Harrison's, we have hard fast sex, we hope that all secrets don't destroy them on this journey. Other characters we get introduced to along the way flesh out the story well.
I enjoyed reading this, the sex scenes are hot, but they may not be for some people's liking, but they moved the story along nicely. Recommend this story to anyone interested in the slightly darker, slightly more aggressive side of BDSM
Now this was an amazing read I have to say this up front. First of all I am not one who will normally read a DOM/Sub book. Not that I find anything wrong with it I just don't really get it. That is except to understand it is a very strong bond between Dom and Sub, trust, care, tenderness and so much more. That being said I really got into this book. I mean I pushed everything else to the side and dug in. Never worrying about the next book in my stack.
I loved the characters. The guys were an amazing trio of true friendship and shared proclivities which were fun to see unfold. It was also great to see the male support and not only holding each accountable for their actions but supporting each other. And the women that love them, Piper what can I say she was just love-able. Her relationship with Justin made me smile. And then there is Brooklyn and Harrison even with their issues they were great together and supportive enough to make things work out but stubborn and single minded in their need to protect each other. The dance these two did while trying to respects the limits not only of Brooklyn's marriage but of the Dom/sub relationship, was hot and just hit you in the core. There are no words for Paul but I wont even try.
The book is great an easy read but not short. Long enough for you to love the characters and wonder what is in store for Seth, him needs some loving too!! I want more so I will most definitely be looking for more from this author, and her merry band. I hadn't read anything from this genre from her before but I will now. Great read.
