This is one of the most concise and informative book on data mining . Though I would recommend that you know the basic of data mining in depth to understand the book much better.
This book is more about the theory and the algorithms used in data mining.
Data mining is an area which might become the hot area to work in, as it has quite extensive applications in financial as well as in research studies. There are many researches being done in this area to mine intelligence from data.
