The Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East consists of desolate plains and inhospitable mountain ranges. In a dark corner of the barren land, a horrifying game takes place.
Black Force operative Jason King arrives in the dead of night, determined to uncover why a party of international relief workers vanished from a rural village. Fearing the worst, he tracks them to an abandoned gold mine and uncovers a web of corruption deep below the Volcanoes of Kamchatka.
The mine is under the control of Vadim Mikhailov, a hulking ex-KGB executioner who will do anything to protect his lucrative operation. As always, King is prepared for carnage — but this time, the raging action pushes him to his limits…

Million-copy bestseller Matt Rogers is a prolific thriller author intent on blurring the lines between hard-hitting action and mind-bending philosophy. An avid runner and mountain trekker, he leans on real world experience to craft edge-of-your-seat thrill rides with staggering plot twists. His breakout novel, BE SOMEBODY, was lauded by IndieReader industry professionals, who praised the "impeccable writing" and "air-tight plot construction." It seems the author has worked hard on the plot only for the first book in Jason King series. After that, it's just weak storylines with a plenty of action scenes filling the pages. Corrupted is no less. Jason King is sent to Russia to save kidnapped WHO workers who are held hostage in an underground mine for a sinister purpose. While the premise is certainly exciting, the suspense was very weak. Talking about story alone, it didn't require more than 200 pages but the author stretched to about 400 pages. Still you'll enjoy it if you just go in for a fast pace mindless read.
Matt Rogers just gets better and better. I have read ALL of the Jason King series, and I think that there is an advantage to reading the stories "in order" - since some of Jason King's previous adventures are mentioned with some of his earlier friends and foes. The plot moves very quickly, with non-stop suspense, and over-the-top violent combat between Jason King and "armies" of bad-guy mercenaries. When Jason King isn't fighting corrupt police or black-hearted mercenaries for foreign soldiers, he is fighting to survive the artic cold of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The author is an Aussie who appears to be succeeding very well in a self-publishing journey. Lots of realistic combat operations, like a HALO (high altitude-low opening) jump out of a stealth bomber. And a very realistic plot, with good-guys from an NGO getting kidnapped by "bad guys". Among the best suspense fiction I have read, comparable to the best of Vince Flynn, and Ben Coes, and Tim Tigner. Looking forward to the next "installment."
Jason is pulled out of Corsica where he was recovering from the injuries received in Egypt and dispatched to determine the fate of ten WHO workers on a Russian peninsula where the WHO team is treating a tuberculosis outbreak. What Jason doesn't know is that Ilsa is tasking the opportunity for personal reasons, her sister, Sarah, is one of the WHO team members. The job takes Jason to an abandoned gold mine, where a former Russian Officer and his mercenary crew are running a fight to the death club that is illegally being broadcast live on closed circuit to it's backers. Jason is in the fight of his life and gets Slater, who's been AWOL to help get the job done. You'll be glued to the pages as the action is swift and deadly. Don't miss this one.
This was rough being sent in on a mission with only half the facts isn't fun at all and all the brick walls Jason kept running into. I just knew it was going to be the end of Jason after thay Russian monster wiped his a$$ all over that tunnel. Glad to see a familiar character to return to actually save Jason's tailfeather and the remainder of the group. This shows you how serious the corruption can lead. I was very hot under the collar at the end of the book. Is that how government really view the smaller folks...to save a million or so we will sacrifice those few so they can fight to the death and die horrible ways? smh.
Okay, wow! This one was the best so far. It was about a group of workers in a freezing part of Russia who were kidnapped and Jason King was sent in to find out what happened. It was supposed to be done quickly and quietly but that didn't happen. I can't even tell you how many bad guys Jason Killed, or how badly he was hurt before it all ended; a broken nose, and broken wrist, a broken rib or two and so many bumps and bruises it was uncountable.
Definitely no romance and the F-bomb was used 33 times.
As for the narration: As usual, Roger Wayne was awesome.
Love these Jason King books. A lot of action. Jason always protecting the untrained, helpless people wherever he is sent.. Hope the next and final issue of Jason'.s story gets released soon. Please, Matt Rogers, think of adding Will Slater to More books, he seems to be very interesting along with good camaraderie with Jason King. They'd make a great team. Thanks, Amarillo Turtle
I have been several times to Vladivostok in the Russian Siberia but I have never heard of the remote peninsula that is the subject of the novel and likely Jason King and Will Slater would rather not heard of it either as it has resulted in disastrous career circumstances. I wonder what the next episode in this series will be about?
You can not go wrong choosing to read this series!
It is a simple op. Members of the WHO stationed in the middle of nowhere outskirts of Russia have missed a check in. Enter Jason King. Go in. Make sure everything is okay. Get out. Simple as that. Yeah about that.....
This was the best in the series and they've all been fantastic to read. There was parts where I nearly cried from what I thought was going to happen to Jason. I'm left shocked by the ending and can't wait for the next book.
Once again another adventure with non stop action. Jason King is back and doing what he does best, a one man assault team. This book will keep u Turing the page from the first till the last, then have u wanting more.
I was very disappointed with this book. Too many innocent dead and some impossible situations. I did enjoy the previous books but this time it was so unbelievable. I still gave it two stars but I was being generous.
While recovering from injuries, Jason is pitched into another do or die mission. However, this one is unsanctioned and leaves him fighting for his life, he now knows to much!! Good book that moves at a fast pace, it also brings back a former operator and sets up the final book in the series.
Another exciting and intriguing novel by Mr Rogers. The action was captivating and non-stop. I have thoroughly all 5 books in this series. I can't wait for the sixth and final book of this series.
Big hairy guys combatting the worst of mercenaries for another noble cause. This could be Jack Reacher but it's not that smart. Not bad, but also not good.

Action packed and exciting. Matt Rogers writes the best action packed books and is one of my favorite authors. Hurry with book 6 Matt. Love Jason King!
This is a Black Ops task which takes only Agent Jason King to the Kamchatka Peninsula in Far East Russia. A horrible game is being played when a group of World Health Organization (WHO) workers vanish from a rural village. Jason tracks them to an abandoned gold mine and gets entangled in corruption. His enemy is Vadim Mikhailov, an ex-KBG executioner. Jason is America's one-man wrecking machine. His courage and strength are amazing. He never caves in, and he certainly keeps you reading! Highly recommend. I'm looking forward to the next book. Hurry, Matt Rogers, we're hungry!
