Stop in the name of love…of Motown, and read Tony Turner's dazzling insider's story--updated with new material for the blockbuster 2000 Supremes tour! The Supremes were the golden girls of Motown, living large after a streak of gold records. Tony Turner was a streetwise kid from Harlem when he first met Flo Ballard in a New York department store. But from that chance encounter, Tony became virtually the fourth Supreme--serving as the group's mascot, gofer, and confidant. All That Glittered is a unique, behind- the-scenes look at the super group--from the only insider with nothing to hide.
A tell all book filled with gossip, glitter, and glamour, young Tony Turner had a chance meeting with Supreme member Florence Ballard that set him on a fast track trajectory in the world of Motown. The Supremes are rumored to be the inspiration for the musical 'Dreamgirls' (one of my favorite live productions and musical films). The book starts slow but amps up the drama as the Supremes hit their stride and egos begin to take over.
This book was written in 1990 about a young teen age boy that just happened to meet Florence Ballard of the Supremes and was able to hang out and do errands for them. He was close to Florence and this book bad mouths Diana Ross in almost all of the 300 pages. He had an amazing life with them when they were at the height of their careers.
