Librarian Note: Older cover of B06ZYQX7WT.

What if the only way to save him was to turn him into a monster?

Tony never asked to be a vampire. He didn't even know they existed until he interrupted the wrong man.

Eden has always avoided turning anyone, but there was something about Tony that made her do it. But now, she has to face the consequences of her actions that night. And adding a new vampire into the mix, doesn't make that any easier.

I'm hooked on Laura Greenwood's audiobooks. This is the fourth book in the Paranormal council. Each one can be read as a standalone and in this one there is only a small part which would be enhanced by knowledge from the previous stories.

Eden has the opportunity to save Tony's life. He knows nothing about the paranormal world but Eden has to make the decision to turn him into a vampire without his consent. The question is how will he take it? Eden also has a secret she's never told but now it's not just her life she needs to consider.

I really liked this story and the twists. Eden and Tony make a great couple. This is a short read. It felt short than the other books in the series and concentrates on the couple. A fab addition to feeding me my Laura Greenwood audio addiction.

*I got an ARC in exchange for my views. These are my own thoughts and feelings about The Vampire's Bite.

I was not very thrilled with this story. If I woke up all of a sudden and was a vampire I would not be so happy and ready to jump the bones of the one who made me like Tony (especially since I didn't even know the person or that the paranormal world existed). I get that these are novella's and all but there should be some kind of back up to the plot. There was hardly any character building with this one and I feel it fell short.

Another wonderfully delightful short story! Makes a great afternoon escape! Eden, the vampire, and Tony, accountant in human life now fledgling vampire, find each other after a brutal incident leaves Tony dying in an alley. Eden decides to "save" him and turns into vampire. Tony takes to it so easily and seamlessly that Eden is a bit out of sorts. A tingle, sizzle and connection is initiated between them. Eden has a secret and needs some advice n help and turns to a shifter. Tony comes to discover his close friend is a shifter and they bond over that. Edens secret is she is born shifter and made vampire, evidently she's the only one (that they know of). Life flows and the two take to life and learn to mix with Kem and his wife the Dryad. This story line is great for afternoon escapes and lazy afternoons! Enjoy!

This is the fourth book in the Paranormal Council series and we get to see some of the other characters from the other books in the series. We met Tony kinda in one of the spin off books where we see Eden take care of the vampire Todd. With Eden having to face the consequences of her actions that night and saving Tony from the death Todd would have left, she ends up finding out that true mates really do exist. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

"...off didn't even begin to describe the way he felt right now."

Tony doesn't quite remember what happened last night, but the things Eden is telling him fit more into the "we're not alone in the Universe" category than the "I'm going to freak out now" one, for which he's grateful.

Eden has lived over 200 years, and nothing in all that time has prepared her for encountering Tony.

This done in one quick read is a charming story where he's got a bit of an old soul, and she's knocked off balance and feeling like a kid again. What I love is how both embrace the feeling they've met someone special, and make the effort to nurture the spark between them, even in seemingly small ways.

The Vampire’s Bite by Laura Greenwood is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sally Roughton.

I just love Laura’s Books! They always leave me begging for more! I cannot wait for the fifth book in the series The Witch’s Stripes to be released on audible. Each book in this series can be read as standalone.

Sally did a great job on the narration. I cannot wait to listen to more of her projects in the future.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves insta-love Paranormal Romances.

Oh my gosh. These two were adorable together, even though they did their best to try and break my heart. Eden’s lived her entire existence believing that what she’s suddenly faced with was impossible, so I’m not surprised that she found it a little difficult to accept. But Tony’s just so sweet and supportive. I want to keep him for my very own. Mind you, this book introduces some interesting vampire politics that I badly want to know more about.

Eden and Tony

Eden saved Tony one night as he was attacked by an evil vampire. The only way she could save him was to turn him into a vampire like her. This book is about the first week or so after that fateful night.
The book is okay but I guess I expected more excitement because of the characteristics of one of the elder vampires. If you like short insta-love books this is the book for you.

This is the next book in the Paranormal Council Series and we see some of our favourite characters from previous books. We meet the Vampires in this book and get a bit of an inside look at some of their politics. After saying that, I have to say I enjoyed the books, love the characters and can't wait to see where we go from here,

I read this in a boxset and although not required to read in reading order but heavily recommended. Book 4 premier’s a new couple although one was briefly mentioned in book 1. Vampire Elder & fox shifter, Eden Chambers & human turned vampire accountant Tony. Tony is a co-worker of book 1’s Kemnebi Davis. Their story starts after Tony has been turned and we find out why.

A fine lively and surprising read

I had a lot of fun reading this book. It was light and very well written. Eden was a strong and vital vampire with a heart of gold. A great book to relax and enjoy.

Totally loved the book, even though it is book 4 in this series it definately could be read as a standalone I believe. What more could a person ask for when it has vampires, shifters, hybrids and true mates. It is also a quick read,
would recomend this to everyone

Eden Chambers paced back and forth, upset with herself that she had turned someone who hadn’t even known that paranormals existed! Todd had gone on a rampage, and if she hadn’t turned the man, and after all it wasn’t his fault, the human would have died. The man on her bed began to wake up. He grabbed her hand and she thought she might have felt a zing of electricity, but she ignored it. Asking what he remembered, she filled in the information for him that he was now a vampire.

Eden and Tony attended the Elders meeting where Tony was introduced and Todd’s death was discussed. Tony was taking it all very well, pretty much glad to find that there was so much more in the world than just humans. He also found himself feeling very protective of Eden, which made no sense since she was several hundred years old and more than capable of taking care of herself. Eden likewise was noticing a desire to take his hand more often than she should. She was attracted to him. He pulled her toward himself and kissed her as she kissed him back. He saw images of biting her and jumped back, until she laughingly said it was not from hunger but from kissing her. Then she invited him to test things out and see for himself.

Tony bit her neck perfectly, his instincts guiding him. Then she bit him, and it was so good that her fangs actually lengthened inside him. She noted it was odd, but continued. It wasn’t until they were resting side by side that she realized what that meant! She sat upright and scrambled off the bed to track down someone she needed to talk to urgently! Oddly enough, it was Tony who recognized a man at the party – he worked with Kemnebi Davis yet had no idea the man was a shifter. It was his sister-in-law, Aella Dentro, Eden had been looking for, and Aella invited her to walk with her while they talked.

Aella indicated she needed Eden’s help with the necromancers. Eden used their talk to ask about shifters mating with non-shifters – and admitted a shocking secret that she was a shifter herself! Aella had not known a vampire could also be a shifter. But Eden was concerned that her shifter side had mated and she wanted to know if it was permanent. Aella and Eden agreed to help each other out with their respective problems.

Tony came out to the garden and put his arms around Eden. For the second time in her life, she told her secret – she was born a shifter. It should not be possible, but it was. Instead of being upset, Tony wanted to see her shift. Yes, there was something definite between them. Is he her mate? Can she even have a mate, being a vampire? This shouldn’t be happening, but she thinks it may be true. How can she find out for sure?

I enjoyed this story. It’s a very slow-moving story line, but not in a bad way. It probably would have more zing if we experienced the fight in the alley, for example, rather than just hearing the facts. But it was a very gentle love story as Tony accepts everything that has happened to him so calmly and accepts Eden completely. Eden has a more difficult time since she isn’t sure if what they have is even possible! Even without wild excitement, this is still a good story that I did enjoy and would recommend to others. I especially enjoy recognizing characters from the other books in the series. It’s comfortable and feels like coming home!

Eden finds Tony on the verge of death and is drawn to save him. She kills the vampire that drained him and left him to die. When Tony awakens Eden is frantic about how he will react. I loved that Tony took everything in stride. He preferred being an alive vampire than a dead human. Eden stressed out so much about turning him without express permission even with all his assurances. The Paranormal Council is a fantastic series and I've read several of the books more than once.

What happens when a vampire member of the Paranormal Council of Six comes upon another vampire whom has just killed a human? This is a vampire that she has worked to get off the streets for years due to his habit of killing when he fed. Most vampires don’t kill when feeding. They take enough to slake their thirst leaving the human with enough blood to stay alive.

Eden came upon the scene just as the other vampire finished draining the human and he took off. This time Eden was struck by the urge to save the victim’s life. This is something she had never done before. The only way to save a human that has been drained is to turn them. Make them into a vampire. A very tricky business especially when done to a stranger.

What happens when the stranger “Tony” wakes up in Eden’s apartment and discovers that not only are vampires real but, now he is a vampire! He is intrigued by Eden with her pink hair. Eden is unusually attracted to him also but, she has been keeping a large secret her entire long life. Not even the other members of the paranormal 6 Council have any idea. What will happen if/when her secret comes out?

A very enjoyable read with a well thought out plot. Some great twists and turns plus a few steamy scenes leading to a HEA.

The 4th book of the series, although I feel these are more novelettes than stories.
This is a mixture of vampire and shifter, with a little bit of true mate thrown in. I enjoyed the storyline, as I have for each book so far.
I enjoyed the tale, but feel the whole series needs to be in a boxed set, or down priced, so people are getting value for their money. This is not saying each story isn't good, I just feel 80 odd pages for more than the dollar is overpriced.

Merged review:

The saving of a person from death, by turning them to a vampire may be questionable, however the person 'saved' was more than happy, especially as there appears to be more beneficial to the bite than just saving a life.
This is the 4th "Paranormal Council" series book I have read, and each was enjoyable and entertaining, with a very different story in each.
I will be chasing more stories, both from the series and from the author, in the future.

Even if Eden wasn't so annoying I still wouldn't have enjoyed this. So yeah, this is another meh book in this series.

Something about the vampires' behavior reminds me too much of humans -- probably the absence of the cutthroat attitude supernaturals tend to embody. I have the same problem with how the shifters come across; as tame.

The mating process continues to irk me.

While I like the writing and the premise of the story, the more of these I read, the more I feel like something is missing. Each book has stopped without explanations for important things and the next books are not answering them. I feel like I am being strung along. I hope that has I near the end of the series the pieces begin to fall in place. I do like the characters though. I felt like there was a small shift with Eden and Tony's story. Tony takes everything extremely well, turning and mating within less than a 48 hour time period. He still hasn't fed? The stories are starting to lose my interest. We have yet another villian with little explanations for some of the things that transpire. 2.5-3 stars

And we're back to Square one again. I thought with The Necromancers Prey the books following would be reasonable. But this just I found cringey and TBH kinda peeved me off.

Harsh I know. But it's how I felt at the end. The pink haired 200yr old vampire and the human account fledgling was too farfetched for such a short story. Doesn't mean I won't try one more book in the series.

So do I 'personally' recommend it? That would be a no.

Could a reader go through the series without touching this one? Hmm I would like to say yes, but there is a little twist in here. But I think it will be mentioned in other books.

What did I like the most in The Vampires Bite? Aella Dentro makes a reappearance!

Anyway I hope the weather has found you in good spirits and life is treating you good.

Happy ReadingLB

Eden is an elder of the vampire council and while protecting a group of witches from a bad vampire, the human Tony becomes collateral damage. To save him she has to turn him into a vampire. As his maker she takes him home to guide him at the beginning of his new life. What she had not counted on was the instant draw towards him, and more and more signs show her that he might be her true mate.
Another story of inter-species mating, this one with a special twist that I do not want to mention here. Love the story.
As always entertaining and fun to read.
