Finding Hope

Rate this book
Nearly sixteen years after relinquishing the rights to his unborn child, Noah Cooper is stunned to discover his daughter, Hope, wants to meet him. With the love and support of his family, Noah sets off from Elk Flats, Montana to Albany, New York, having no idea what changes are in store for him.

Cancer survivor and widow, Beth Peterson, is more than a little nervous to meet her daughter’s birth father. Their initial meeting goes well, but things decline in a hurry when Noah invites Hope to spend time at the ranch without speaking to Beth about it first.

Determined to meet her new family, a battle of wills ensues between Hope and her mother. While Hope longs for a connection, Beth fears losing her daughter to virtual strangers—strangers who live two thousand miles away.

Struggles and misunderstandings abound between Noah and Beth, despite their growing attraction for one another. Noah is ready to commit, while Beth can’t let go of the memory of her husband and the imperfections cancer has forced to live with.
Will hope, patience, and prayer be enough to pull this family together?

A standalone read, “Finding Hope” is the continuing story of the Cooper brothers, first introduced in “The Rose Ring.”

About the author

Lucie Ulrich

Lucie Ulrich took her time becoming a writer. Not much of a reader as a child, writing was of no interest to her--until she joined a church drama team. The desire to write a skit, and not simply act out someone else's was so strong, that once she started, she couldn't seem to stop. That first skit led to her becoming the drama team director, then eventually, the performing arts director at a small Christian school.

Lucie's first novel was penned under a tree in a field in Holland. Though her first, second, and third attempts never saw the light of day, parts of each of them became the foundation for "Broken Vessels," her first published work.

No longer involved with the performing arts, Lucie enjoys going on photo shoots with her husband, and taking long (or short) road trips. She hopes to find inspiration as she and her husband explore the four corners of the United States.

This is another book from one of my favorite authors with wonderful characters and a story line that pulled me in from the first pages. The story follows Noah as he is contacted by his daughter Hope who he has never known because he gave up his rights when she was born and the events that follow. It is a beautiful and heartwarming story with a touch of humor and a wonderful reminder that God had take the hurtful things of the past and bring healing, restoration and a hope for the future. I really enjoy this author's books, and this is another one from her that I definitely recommend. I am certainly looking forward to her next book.

Restoration & Hope!
This second book in the series is a heart-warming story of an adopted daughter Hope finding and meeting her biological father. A sometimes humorous and sometimes sad book, it’s actually full of hope – hope for the mother as a cancer survivor; hope for the daughter upon finding her father to accept his love while trying not to dishonor her adopted father’s memory; and hope for Noah that Beth will accept his love. I love these lines: “Real hope is an expectation that God’s promises are true.” And: “Leave it to God not only to restore, but to add.” Now I’m hoping there is more in this series!

Beautiful

Second chances and romance go hand in hand for this couple. Who would have thought that Noah would get to meet the one person he never expected to? And who would have thought the most unlikely couple would surrender to the longing of their bruised and battered hearts.

WARNING: 3 tissue rating!

I was so excited to win this book in a giveaway from Lucie Ulrich...I knew I would like it from the minute I read the blurb, but I never expected to fall in love so hard with Noah, Beth & Hope. This is some happily ever after! We met Noah in The Rose Ring and got to know some of his struggles there, so it was all the sweeter to be with him as some of those past mistakes came full circle. If it were possible to give this book more than five stars, I would!

Wow What an emotionally tender story of a parent's love, an adoptive mother, and a teenage daughter. I so fell in love with these characters and hope that this is not the end of this series because I want to keep reading about all of the characters. This book is so well written and I loved the Inspirational thread of healing and allowing God to lead that is throughout the book.

What a wonderful family story. Some hard topics here that were covered so well. These characters were like-able, family oriented and I really enjoyed how their faith carried them through some hard times. Hoping there is another coming in this series!

This book is the second in the Cooper brothers series, but it can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone. Noah Cooper is stunned to discover that though he had relinquished all rights to his daughter, Hope, wants to meet him for her fifteenth birthday. Having the love and support of his family, Noah sets off from Montana to New York to meet her and her adoptive parents having no idea what changes will come his way. Hope's adoptive mom, Beth Peterson, a cancer survivor and widow, is nervous about meeting the birth father. The first meeting goes well until Noah invites Hope to spend time at the ranch without speaking to Beth about it first. Hope's desire to meet her new family two thousand miles away causes issues between mother and daughter. Beth fears loosing her daughter to the new family. When mutual attraction for one another, Beth can't forget the memory of her husband and the scars cancer has caused on her body. Can prayer, hope, and patience, bring them together as a family?

Finding Hope
: Lucie Ulrich

A second chance at love with a few twists. Family, love, loyalty to past loves, new romance, and sweet sweet Hope! I now have to go back and read the 1st book in this series because I really liked this one.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Lucie Ulrich delivered a wonderful performance!

A very sweet, clean romance. I haven't read the first book of the series, but this story seemed to flow well. One could read it as a "stand alone" book. The characters showed real emotions throughout the book--not sappy. I look forward to going back and reading book one in the series.

I won this book in a Facebook giveaway sponsored by the author. I was not asked to give a review. My review is my honest opinion.

I enjoyed Finding Hope, although the story was a bit slow in parts. I understood and respected Noah's desire to be in Hope's life but I'm not sure that the attraction to her mother Beth was entirely believable. Beth had endured a lot in her life but her over-protectiveness and insecurity often made her rude, standoffish and prickly towards Noah. Not exactly traits that most men would find endearing. Will Beth overcome her securities and take a leap of faith to find love again with Noah?

I have not listened to the first book in this series but I don't feel that it detracted from my enjoyment of this book. With good writing and interesting characters, Finding Hope was a wonderful and inspirational romance. The narration was well done, making this a very pleasant listening experience. I would recommend Finding Hope.

This is a new author to me, but I'm well accustomed with the narrator! I believe this is Leonor's best work yet! Each character was unique and distinct from the others, the cadence was spot on and the only improvement I can think of would be the volume difference between Beth and Hope. Although I can't think of an excited teen girl who would be able to keep her volume down!
I loved the story too! I don't listen to a lot of contemporary romance, but I enjoyed this book (that I got for free for an honest review), so much, that I purchased book one in this series! I always enjoy finding new authors I love!

I loved spending more time with the Coopers! Noah Cooper turns out to be such a sweetheart in book one so I was happy that his story continued in this book. I was sad for it to end. Now I'll be waiting for the Hallmark movie, or better yet, the series. Don't miss this one!
