Publishers Weekly Bestselling, award-winning author of over 50 novels and two million books in print, Deb Kastner enjoys writing contemporary inspirational and sweet western stories set in small communities, often including animals as major secondary characters.
Deb lives in beautiful Colorado with her husband, her puppers Gabby and Sadie, and two mischievous bonded brothers, black tuxedo cats Hype and Dab. She recently went through what she terms her midlife crisis and adopted her very first ever real live horse whose name is sweet Moscato.
She is blessed with three adult daughters and two grandchildren with #3 on the way. Her favorite hobby is spoiling her grandchildren, but she also enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music (The Texas Tenors and The High Kings are her favs), singing in the church choir and exploring the Rocky Mountains on horseback.
This was such an enjoyable, feel-good, inspirational Christmas romance. I really liked the lead characters a lot. Miranda left L.A. and her job as a celebrity photographer to return to her hometown of Wildhorn, Texas, when she is named legal guardian to her orphaned niece and nephew, who are twins. She doesn’t think she’s cut out to be a parent, but she really puts her heart and soul into raising the twins. Simon is the twins’ godfather who doesn’t think Miranda will make a suitable guardian. As he spends time with her and the twins, he begins to realize how wrong he was. Simon was a wonderful hero. I loved that he rescued dogs and found them forever homes, and when he couldn’t place one, their forever home was with him. He also trains dogs to herd cattle. There’s a strong sense of community throughout, with people who were always there for each other, and really cared about each other. There were so many lovable dogs included, as well. I enjoyed the mystery of wondering who was responsible for staging some pretty creative pranks around town. Overall, an entertaining read that really gave me the Christmas spirit.
Such a “good feel” read. Strong main characters of Simon and Miranda. Very different personalities and Miranda had so much good attitude .. lessons to be learned. I liked the dog parts too. There is a faith element which is presented in a more discreet way and a mystery to be solved. (This book is part of a combo.)
Clumsy writing, clumsy language. Religious accents. This book was tough to read. Very unpolished and for a Harlequin romance, someone dropped the ball here. The premise or outline was a good idea bar the breeding of dogs. The characters were terrible. The heroine doesn’t have much to work with and the hero is a miserable old sod who is just a grump without direction. Skipped pages because the saga was long drawn out. Payoff predictable.
A cozy quick read about a pair of twin babies and the blooming relationship between their godmother and godfather. Full of festivity, community, dogs and love.

I would have finished this sooner but I got sick again. It sucked because I only had two chapters left when I got sick and it took me awhile to get where I was wanting to pick up a book again. When that happened I started reading my book club book because I knew it was going to be a hard one to get through. So for the longest time I had it hanging with just the end of the book to go.
This was a good book that took place in Texas. I love the cuteness that the baby twins and the dogs brought to the book. Granted, I wished that there were some more mishaps with the twins. Two babies can be a handful but that did play out from time to time. This was the carefree Christmas romance yet fun read I needed.
Miranda was absolutely precious with the twins. Her antics and joy with them was fun to read. I was always thinking, "What will she be doing next?" Simon was lovingly overprotective, but had it all wrong. His care of his dogs and his love for the twins were touching. The mystery shenanigans added such a fun twist to the story. Again, exciting to see what was coming next. A very sweet read. I would recommend to anyone who loves babies, fun antics, dogs, and a sweet budding romance! Ho, Ho ,Ho!
Texas Christmas Twins a Christmas Twins series by Deb Kastner. Miranda Morgan is guardian of her sister twins eight month old babies. She moves back to her home town with the twins so she is around family. Her brother and his wife and kids live there. The twins godfather is Simon West. At first he didn't think Miranda should be the one to raise the twins. After getting to know her and see she is treating the twins with loving care. Simon starts having feeling for Miranda. Simon takes in dogs and trains them, then sells them. A very good read.
This was a very sweet story. I liked how wiling Miranda was to upend her life for the sake of her niece and nephew . . . how she joyfully took on her new role as a mom. I also loved the way she looked at life through an artistic lens, and how she earnestly tried to understand Simon's point of view, even if she did not share it. Simon, I didn't like as much at first. He was way too judgemental about Miranda, making assumptions about her right, left, and centre. Eventually, he did come to understand that people can change and that everyone deserved grace, even him. 3.5 stars
Cute story about Miranda a girl, who is charged with caring for her sister’s orphaned twins. Their godfather , Simon, is a new Christian, a friend of her brother’s. Simon trains cattle dogs and has rescue dogs as well. Miranda was a photographer to the rich before she took custody of the twins. They are each trying, in their own way, to do what’s best for the nine month old babies. Together can they solve who is doing some very creative pranks in their little Texas town?
I had a hard time liking the hero -he was very gruff and set in his ways and I didn't really believe the relationship between he and the heroine. There was a lot about them working together to raise the twins and a lot of inner monologue, but I did not feel we saw a lot of their romantic relationship growing on the page
The religious themes in this book were very strong.

I loved the whole story and the adorable twins on the cover. The story revolves around the guardianship of twins and who should be taking care of them the person who was appointed by the family or the man named as godfather. Those two people learn how to care for the twins and each other.
I received this book in a giveaway. I loved the cover, the adorable twins, Miranda’s cheerful, upbeat disposition and the sweet story. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a delightful read. Thank you, Deb, for sharing your book with me. Blessings on you as you continue to write.

The book starts out with the death of Mary and her husband and Miranda gets custody of their twins. Simon thinks that Miranda won't be a good Mother for the twins.
The book was really good and the cast of characters were awesome. I think you will enjoy the book.
