Bad boy Matt is ready to settle down just as good girl Bree is powering up for a meaningless fling. In professional fights and in love, timing is everything…

Bree Andrews is a lawyer that represents athletes in a variety of sports—including mixed martial arts. When she comes across Matt, a two time MMA middleweight champion, she finds herself wondering if he might not be the perfect candidate for her plan.
She’s done with commitment and vanilla sex, done with waiting and trusting only to be betrayed in the end. She’s finally ready to be the bad girl who takes her pleasure and leaves the rest.
Matt unfortunately is done with the wild lifestyle that opened up for him when he gained fame and success. All the glory and all the fame didn’t end up meaning a thing and he’s ready for the real deal with his dream girl.
Willing to take a chance on the chemistry that’s ignited between them, he takes her up on her offer, angling to make her see they belong together for a lifetime, not just one night.
But though she is falling for him just as hard as he’s already fallen for her, their steamy romance doesn’t last. Bree finds out a bit more about Matt’s bad boy past than she can handle. And her ex-fiancé’s past finally catches up with her, too, putting her in grave danger.
Can Matt take down the wall between him and Bree before it’s too late? Or has his dream girl slipped from his hold forever?

I just couldn't really get into this one. Maybe it was the fact that I felt zero connection to the main characters or just the way they were...I had to stop.

Perhaps others will enjoy it but I had to stop here.

Bree is coming off a year of feeling dead inside and inadequate after her fiancé called off their wedding. She doesn't want another relationship and thinks all she needs is a fling.

Matt is tired of flings and one night stands, he is ready for a relationship and finding “the one”. Can he convince her that more than a one and done is the way to go?

He has a filthy mouth, a body to die for and stamina that won't quit. She's a Stanford graduate that's always settled for safe and what made sense. Do they have ANYTHING in common?

Matt is a champion for a reason, he never quits. The same attitude he brings to the ring and training is what he uses to win the girl.

What follows is a sweet, steamy, heartwarming love story. It flows well, has great H/h dynamic and just enough of the dreaded “ex” protagonist to keep it interesting. We don't get bogged down with fight stories and terminology; the secondary characters are equally entertaining and interesting.

I was excited to see this author take on a the world of MMA fighting and yet still have connected characters. We see some old names pop up from the other books. I love that these characters are all connected, but you don't have to have read their stories for any of the books to make sense.

Bree and Matt were great characters. Matt is a typical alpha male who falls hard when he meets his dream girl, Bree. Bree just got out of a bad relationship and isn't looking for anything serious. When life takes an expected turn and they almost aren't given a chance at a life together, Bree and Matt know they have to live for today.

I enjoyed the story and this group of characters. I loved the twist at the end and how Bree and Matt fought for each other. It was a good story.

Lea Hart delivers a romance with interesting characters. Banter. Snark. Love. A lawyer and a Surfer Boy MMA fighter come together. She is resisting. He is persistent. Their story is so worth reading. I wasn't convinced at first. MMA fighter? No! was my initial reaction. Not interested in that. But you know, it's Lea Hart and she has hit every story dead on. I love the conversations. I like to see a relationship develop and continue on. I'm here to see the love and Lea Hart always delivers. Alpha males and strong women. Think Julia Sugarbaker. I read it in one sitting. I loved it. I'm ready for the next MMA fighter who has is looking for 'that' woman and has love to give. This book is very much worth your time.

I.am a big fan of this author and a pleasure to read an early copy. If you have KU - read this authors other series.

Takedown - a first in a series featuring MMA fighters. And the first couple up - Bree and Matt. Matt the superstar of the MMA -2 time belt holder alpha male and all that goes with it. But now hes looking to settle down and he meets her at the arena. Bree - the hot sister of another fighter but so much more - a lawyer with a firm handling sports stars. Shes fun, hot sassy and southern but has been hurt and shes planing on a little fun with Matt but thats about to change. Two strong people fight and love to there finale happy ending.
A winner first book in series and looking forward to more.

Okay

This was an okay read. There is a lot of repetition in the internal dialogue that the two main characters have about each other, and a lot if talking in circles around one another instead of real conversations between them. The vocabulary gets a little juvenile at times, like thoughts and conversations about wanting to "smooch". The drama with her ex-boyfriend seems like much ado about nothing in the end, until suddenly she's caught in the crossfire of a situation that has absolutely nothing to do with her or any relevance to the story. I found I had to push myself to finish this one.

Bad boys need love too....
So I'm kind of a Lea Hart junkie....Read them all love them all...my favorite has always been Catch from the Coronado Series, but I have a new favorite.
In Takedown we have bad boy and MMA fighter Matt and good girl lawyer Bree. This is a sweet romance about finding love and a the difficulties that sometimes arise. Throw in a little mystery and a few tears... you definitely will love this one...Can the MMA fighter takedown the Lawyer? You'll have to read it to find out....you will not be disappointed.

Oh my gosh!

I loved this story! Starting from Matt's POV made it such a great journey, and what a terrific hero who is all in and unafraid to go after his "dream girl". Bree is smart, sexy, and sassy and her passage from hurt to healthy was well developed and satisfying. Another winner from Lea Hart!

Wonderful, Best Book I've Read In A While

This is now my all time favorite Lea Hart book. All of her books are wonderfully entertaining but this one is particularly good. I hated for it to end, and I am eager to read it again.
I highly recommend this book.
